Game died
![]() Erik tries to hold still while the doc tends to his wounds. He grits his teeth and writhes in pain as the doc tries to remove the bullets. "Doc, this hurts just as much as getting shot. How much longer this gonna take?" he says, sweat starting to bead up on his brow. After a few minutes, Devon stops, unsuccessful at removing the bullets. "All that fer nothin? Ya can't leave those things in me, can you? When can you try again? How about somethin for the pain?" he says between gritted teeth. "Guess I'll be staying here a while longer. I'll be at the hotel when you have a chance to try again." ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik admires his shot, proud that he was able to help. The start of a smile is quickly replaced by a look of confusion as he feels a burning sensation in his stomach. Looking down, he sees he's been shot and he doubles over in pain. Cursing himself for standing still for too long to admire his shot, he looks for cover and starts to make his way for it. ![]()

![]() Hearing Christopher scream, Erik turns to see the men on horseback. When he sees the sheriff raising his weapon, he draws his revolver normal and fires twice at the lead rider. Steady shot #1(10): 1d20 ⇒ 20 lol, figures. the rng is stuck.
Steady shot #2(10): 1d20 ⇒ 5
At the first pull of the trigger, nothing happens. Undeterred, Erik pulls the trigger a second time sending a bullet at the rider. His aim is true and it hits the lead rider squarely in the chest. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik listened to Charlie's "report" and Niko's plan to find horses. As the others started off towards the stable, Erik stopped to consider his own options. "Seems I'm kind of stuck here too," he thought as he began walking towards the hotel. When he hears the commotion coming from the stables, he runs over to see what is happening. ![]()
Game died
![]() "Well, I came out of the trading post to see a man with a shotgun stopping two men in the street. I didn't hear what they were talking about, but the one with the shotgun was with a woman who had a baby. Then they all headed towards the courthouse," Erik says, trying to give as much detail as he could. ![]()
Game died
![]() "Denver you say. And the next coach isn't for a week? Hmm, what am I going to do till then? Sitting in the saloon gambling for a week will probably leave me broke," Erik says with a chuckle. "Thanks for the information. If you here of anything different or of anyone looking for a hired hand for short-term work, let me know," he says tipping his hat to Jack and heading out the door. On the way out, he glances again at the mining equipment to see what it costs. He stops just outside the door when he sees the commotion in the street and carefully observes what is going on. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik nods his head in disappointment. "Not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping to try my luck out west here mining for gold. Sounded more promising than mining for coal back east. Have you heard of any places out this direction that still have some life in them? Maybe I need to continue on my way along the stagecoach line," he says. ![]()
Game died
![]() Sorry for my inactivity. Between my taxes and work I haven't kept up with posting. After dropping his clothes off at the cleaners, Erik went to the trading post. He wanders around the shop and stops to see what prospecting equipment they have and the prices. "what do they mine for in the hills around here?" he asks when approached. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik puts on his clean set of clothes and makes his way downstairs. "Good morning everyone. Mmm, smells delicious," he says as he gets a plate of food and a cup of coffee. He finds a seat at a table with the others to eat. "Anyone see Darvin yet this morning? I wonder how he's feeling," he says looking around the room for the "boxer". Once he finishes eating, he takes his dirty clothes from the trip over to the laundry and then heads over to the trading post to ask about mining in the hills around the town. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik walks up to Darvin once he is out of the ring. "Well, Darvin, you put up quite a fight. Let me know if you need anything," he says as they walk back into the saloon. When they are approached by the owner of the paper, he departs to let them finish their conversation. He finds the bartender and asks about getting a bath and where he can get his clothes cleaned. "A nice warm bath and some clean clothes sounds good after my trip," he adds. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik pauses to hear the announcement. "Can't say I'm much of a fighter. I'd rather relax in a bar playing a game and having a drink. So what do you you two do here in town?" Erik says addressing Clyde and Mirko while he places another bet. Faro($1): 1d20 ⇒ 7 14-7=7/2=4+7=11

![]() Erik glances over towards the door at Grafton's comment before returning his attention to the game. "Is that common or is the coach usually on time?" he asks as the cards are dealt. "Yeah, that's better," he says as he wins his money back. "Another hand?" Funds:
-1.25-.75-1+1=-2 Faro($1): 1d20 ⇒ 2 14-2=12/2=6+2=8 With these rolls I should stop gambling, lol.

![]() How much is the food and a beer? Funds:
-1.25-1 "Ah, nice pick. I'm in for another hand. As far as the election, Grant is a war hero so many people know of him and sometimes that is enough to get elected," he says as he places his next bet, again watching everyone carefully. Faro($1): 1d20 ⇒ 6 14-6=8/2=4+6=10

![]() Just to be clear, I'm not cheating. I was rolling to see if I noticed anyone else cheating. At least that's how I understood the rules. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not familiar with GURPS and don't want to spread myself too thin especially with too many new game systems. Thanks for the offer though. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik considers the offer momentarily and then gets up to join the game. He tips his hat at the introduction. "Erik Volker. Pleased to meet you. My companions and I just arrived on the stage coach today. You fella's been in Dead Mule long?" he says as he takes a seat. He pulls $1 from his pocket and places it on the table. Not knowing these men, he watches everyone closely to make sure no one's cheating. Faro($1): 1d20 ⇒ 3 14-3=11/2=6+3=9

![]() "I can't say I know what a Jackalope is but I'm hungry enough for a warm meal I guess it doesn't matter," Erik says with a chuckle following Darvin's comment. After getting cleaned up, Erik sits with Darvin eating. When the man mentions joining the game, he casually scans the men at the table. How are they dressed? Professional gamblers or just some locals paying cards? Did I notice how the 2 players who left were acting? Observation: 1d20 ⇒ 2 "It depends on what you are wagering. I just got into town, so I'm a little light on funds," he responds. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik follows the others out of the coach and stretches before gathering his things and looking around. "Well, from the looks of the area around here, I imagine it's tough to raise cattle, so maybe Dead Mu is a good description," he says with a smile, looking at the others for a response to his witty comment. ![]()
Game died
![]() Erik did his best to keep from jostling into the other passengers as the stage coach made it's way from Dodge City. "At least I shouldn't have to worry about drowning," he thought to himself as he recalled the beginning of his trip down the Ohio River until it reached the Mississippi. The 3 men hadn't said much to one another so far during the trip, mostly just comments on the weather and the flat land that passed by the window. "I wonder how much longer it will take the railway to reach this far. It certainly would make this trip easier," he commented to no one in particular. He took for granted how easy it was to travel out east. When they suddenly stop in the middle of nowhere, he instinctively reaches down to his pistol. "I wonder why we're stopping here. Indians?" he says as he looks out the window. He raises an eyebrow at the man standing there watching carefully as he approached them. He grimaces when the man suggests he bring the head with him. "Thanks for leaving your "trophy" back there. I'll think we will do enough to smell up the coach by ourselves," he says with a grin.
