I thought I would start a thread where we can share our wishes and concerns for Starfinder Second Editio and the playtest. Let me share my Starfinder experience. I am a venture agent in Paizo's Organized Play. I have run my mystic shirren Vir Kah'to to 5th level. I GMed the Starfinder mod for Free RPG Day last year. (I struggled with starship combat and even as a player find it less than intuitive.) My hope is not just for a better starship combat system, but for a game system that will attract more players. We had some SFS games at the shop that I am active in, but they stopped. We had only two regular players. I also want a system that is easier to learn and GM. So, who are you and what do you want? (To paraphrase Lorien from Babylon 5.)

Sadly, I do not have a character for #4-15 - In Glorious Battle. My hope is that we will see a lot of what will be in the remaster making its way to PFS. (I think that an orc from the Mwangi Expanse who has a tattoo that does damage to demons would be very popular in Belkzen if he could adapt the technique for it to do damage to the undead.)

Hello, I updated the event on this page Northwest Indiana PFS and the map for our new venue for PFS and SFS is not showing. I believe that I set up the new location correctly. Can you help?
I look forward to this book and to see how it addresses the many cultures of the Mwangi Expanse. I hope that there is some information on other parts of the continent of Garund and their cultures. I especially like the prompts. I think that they will help to build Interesting characters and great adventures with rich stories.

The biggest issue I've seen with resonance so far is that it tends to fail you in the middle of the biggest combat. Which is exactly the opposite of what happens with the "heroic character" or "star of the show". The end result is a shortening of the already short 15 minute adventure day. Understanding and solving the 15 minute adventuring day issue is the real problem. Players can only use the tools that devs provide. You may find it hard to believe, but no one really wants to tick off wand charges or count potions, either. But with x number of things to do in an adventuring day and y hours to do it in, people become creative in their solutions within the limits of the rules. Moreover, most do not want to be the "party healer", either. Fix the 15 minute adventuring day and resonance becomes meaningless.
I noticed a problem on my GM Sessions page for PFS. There are two dates missing, despite having run on May 13. 2017 and May 27. 2017 (the schedule for those days was posted in the Pathfinder in Northern Indiana thread. It was about that time that I started using the same event numbers for the events that I organize, so maybe I somehow overwrote the events? Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide. The players have their chronicle sheets, but I thought I would draw the problem to your attention.
Something odd is going on. I reported recent events for PFS and noticed that the events for May 26th and May 13th are now appearing together under the first date. Maybe it is because, on the advice of a higher ranking Venture officer, I am using the same event number for the same venue. However, I am still showing 122 tables of GM credit. Am I reading things wrong?
For those who not see it, here is a link to the Paizo blog entry announcing the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild. While this blog is very interesting, I found this part of it particularly relevant to PFS. As Tonya Woldridge wrote: Quote: On a more serious note, we made a couple major changes for Starfinder Society. The first is the tier system. We are closing the gap between subtiers that resulted in so much confusion and consternation with calculating average party level (APL). Starfinder scenarios will include the following tiers: Tier 1-2, Tier 1-4, Tier 3-6, Tier 5-8, Tier 7-10, and Tier 9-12—perhaps more as higher-level play grows in popularity. Would this be a useful change for the future for PFS if the same changes were adopted?
I mostly GM, but I am planning on creating a psychic with the Faith discipline. This discipline allows the character to swap out a psychic spell for a cure spell. Does this ability allow the character to use cure light wound wands as if the spell was part of the character's list? (Hmm, I guess that this would be a good question for a psychic character with the rebirth discipline.)
Wizards of the Coast is having a Magic: The Gathering card auction to benefit the ACLU. The auction will continue until 8 PM Pacific on Tuesday.
With my reporting of two sessions of WeB4Goblins from last Saturday, I have now reached the rank of a four star GM. The first, more successful session, was my 100th GM session. The second, while fun, was less successful for the players. I am puzzled by one thing. Before I entered the data, I was at 99 sessions. Now, I am showing 103 sessions. Thanks to Bob Jonquet, Brian Mooney, Sean O'Shea and all who helped me grow as a Pathfinder Society GM.
I thought I would start a thread that will help people find venues running We B4 Goblins! this Saturday. So, let's see what stores and other venues are going to have some goblin mayhem this weekend. Pathfinder Society returns to Lightspeed Hobbies in Portage, Indiana for Free RPG Day this Saturday, June 18, 2016. I will run sessions of WeB4Goblins! at 11 am and 5:30 PM Central.
Sometimes, when I go to paizo.com, the page takes a very long while to load. I will often find that if I decide to go to a subforum (I usually go to Pathfinder Society), that I can get to the boards. From the boards, getting to the front page is usually easier. I am currently using Chrome as my browser. Any advice?
As October is approaching, I am thinking of a few good horror themed adventures to run locally for PFS. I am considering Decline of Glory, Among the Living, the Pallid Plague, and the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. So, what are some of the good horror-themed scenarios or mods that you have played in or GMed?
