Rather than looking at it from an Advisor position, I look at it as what does the group need for a PC. Faerin - Druid (switch between melee/range, semi-healer)
The only thing that is missing from a PC standpoint is a full healer, as Harrim is an NPC. I would suggest, if it is ok with you and the DM that you bring in a Cleric or Oracle. My 2 cents. -- Ekun
Ekun moves up next to Anton. "Form a line and let them come to us" as he readies for an attack.
Ekundayo grins savagely and readies his axe for more troll killing. "Lets get to it!"
Ekundayo barely notices Octavia glance over at him. He grips the acidic axe tighter and his face looks like it is carved from stone. Not wanting to disrupt Faerin and her negotiating with a troll, he just mumbles, "not Kargadd, not Hargulka. They I will not accept."
Ekundayo nods to Faerin and says to Octavia, "lets go, but be careful. There is a lot of traffic this way."
Ekundayo looks around trying to determine which of the two door has the most tracks, and if he notices a difference he suggests going the most heavily traveled way.
Present and accounted for!
"Die beasts" Ekundayo roars and swings the acidic greataxe at the troll in front of him.
Ekundayo stands by, gripping the troll killing axe in both hands. He stares at the trolls, especially the armored one. However he says nothing as he does not want to disrupt Faerin negotiations.
Ekundayo grasps the great axe even tighter and his face becomes impassive and sternly set as he follows Faerin. His obvious hatred of trolls showing, but controlled.
Ekun puts his bow back across his back, and grabs his great axe. He moves up next to Faerin so to protect her if need be.
"Mad or Sane, she is our Baroness and we need to follow her lead. However be prepared just in case."
Before Faerin takes off to look at the troll, Ekundayo reminds her as she makes her determination of what to do, "My Lady, you are my Baroness and I follow where you lead. My hatred of trolls is vast, but I will do what you will, excepting when we me Kargadd, as he is the one that killed my family, and I will destroy him or be destroyed myself."
No spoilers needed. I have almost finished my first run in the Kingmaker CRPG (rage quit in HATEOT because of a certain cut scene) and Ekundayo was one of the character that always stayed with the "party" ever since meeting him, so I know his complete story. Just trying to separate player knowledge from character knowledge.
@GM:
In the CRPG, Ekundayo hates trolls, one in particular. Is this the same here? Faerin, I need an answer from the GM before I answer that question.
Ekundayo nods sagely at the potions and calls Dog over to him. "As these will last for some time, how long before we should drink them so we can go immediately at your signal?"
"Fires" Ekundayo says with some surprise. "There are creatures other then Trolls there, or many of the Branded Trolls! We must proceed with much caution."
"Baroness, should we stay until a patrol shows up, or should we continue our search for the trolls?" Ekundayo queries.
@DM:
Do we know where the "dwarven" fortress is, and that is now inhabited by trolls? Does Ekundayo know this? Trying hard not to get player and PC knowledge mixed together. Ekundayo stands by and listens to Faerin and Bartholomew conversation regarding the trolls.
Ekundayo looks over Dimwit and the other trolls for anything obvious that would account for them regenerating after fire and acid damage. He listens in on Faerin conversation with Bartholomew.
Seeing that all the trolls are down and some are beginning to heal, Ekundayo takes a round to coup-de-grace each troll, doing maximum damage including acid damage.
Status:
Dog takes a 5 foot step and attacks Dimwit, while Ekun moves up and also attacks Dimwit.

Once again, Ekundayo mumbles "Thanks Harrim. You keep us up, we'll put them down" as the warmth of the energy closes almost all of his wounds. He and Dog continue to team up on the Troll in front of them

Ekundayo bathes in the warm glow of Harrim channel "Thanks Harrim" as his wounds close. He and dog then attack the troll (Troll2) directly in front of them.
Ekun and Dog move up and attack the nearest troll.
Hi DM, need a ruling. My personal alignment (NG) is conflicting with my DM alignment (LN). Faerin cast Acid Maw on Dog but the spell says "your animal companion". Personal says it is ok, greater good. DM says it is not. Is this valid? -- david aka Ekundayo
Ekundayo heads down the ramp with Anton next to him and dog right behind them. When he gets there he heads to the nearest troll and readies his attack for the next round.
"Lets see what is happening in the barn" Ekundayo comments, as he readies the Troll Killing Great Axe and leads the way with Anton into the barn.
DM. When fighting Trolls, Ekundayo has the Corrosive Great Axe and he has +4 (favored enemy) against Humanoid(Giant), so he is a killing machine when it comes to them, so Octavia can save spells that deal acid damage to stop their regeneration. But I agree with skipping over this on PbP. In the CRPG, there were a bloody lot of Trolls.....

Great Thanksgiving. Over a friends house (8 guests total), and today going over daughter & son-in-law (he worked yesterday) for a second round! I am ever so slightly in favor of a quick synopsis and move on, but would be ok for RP'ing the ceremony.
Octavia should get the Belt Dex +2 to help Rogue skills.
To the group, he says "being one with nature is good. Dog and I are the newest of the companions, but we agree that Faerin should rule." Ekundayo then turns to Faerin and dropping to one knee, "I pledge my support to you and this land."
Ekun stands stoically by and watches the emotions play across Pyros face and the faces of the others. He speaks softly, but loudly enough that everyone hears "family must come first. Pyros, you must be with your kin. We can handle it here."
amulet of natural armor +1, ring of protection +1, greater bracers of archery, +1 longsword, cloak of resistance +1, +1 breastplate, pouch, belt, arrows (20) (5), headchomper, backpack, common, waterskin, filled, dagger, savage bow, 100.0 gp So you can cross off that stuff the list. He would be interested in Trollreaper if no one else wants it (he hates trolls!), +2 breastplate (add +1 breastplate to pot), ring of protection +2 (add his ROP+1 to the pot), and the Wyvern skin cloak (add his cloak +1 to the pot). Also, give most of the potions to the baroness, but a couple of the cure potions to him and the new guy. Also split the scrolls between baroness and Octavia as appropriate. Sell whatever is not claimed by anyone and split the money. In the CRPG, he is pretty much only ranged, I've built him so he can be a secondary front line with the longsword, but he could easily use the greataxe also.

Do what works for you, but I think that either an accident or perhaps being called home would work.
Faerin stepping is fine with me and Ekundayo.

I had a campaign where the guy playing the "leader" had to leave and that particular campaign fell apart in the middle, although we did start over with a new AP. I would be opposed to having the baron be an NPC. Any of the ideas above would work for me.
Ekundayo rolls his eyes at the audacity of this creature, and just grunts. Checking his bow and his quiver, he looks at Pyros and says nothing.
Ekun immediately goes up to the two horses and attempts to calm them down, whispering to them and stoking their manes. "Easy guys, easy. It's ok. I'll help you" he says soothing them.
As the kobold stand, "Dog" attacks again and tries to trip it.
