Weapon drawn, Eirel waits to see what happens. Despite having killed the prisoner earlier, he will not be the one to strike the first blow this time. Wil clearly understood how to speak to these people, and thus he would wait, uneasily, but he would wait. Jaw Jaw, but prepare for war war
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Seeing that the Dwarf has not surrendered, Eirel will move to kill him immediately, rather than have the man spread his poisonous words amongst the others. Looking after prisoners isn't worth it, and nature does not do it. Coupe de grace:
Assuming that the man is helpless is some manner, which I think he is. If not then disregard all this. Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8 Wil, take care of the wounded as is your remit, but keep your weapons close. I will try to find the commander, and see what has been going on. Seltyn, I could use your brains on this one. Azlain, you know war, you too might be useful. Suny... I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do, so leave it to your judgement. Lets work to bring this war to an end fast. Speaking to the messenger Please take us to your commander, we need to be briefed in. He will follow the messenger along with Who, and anyone else who follows.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 Spotting the carriage, Eirel points it out to the others. Assuming that there are only passengers in that carriage, then it is too laden down. I suspect we should take a look. Unleash the banner, and lets continue in closer. Are we not trusted advisors to the Lady? He heads in, Who close by.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
I am sad to hear that the dwarves haven't been as regular in posting as perhaps we have been. Is there no way that you could simply run one of the previous groups? I remember you saying that you had massive notes on the last games you had run, perhaps you could just run the elven side, and then go from the notes on the dwarven side?
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel returns to the meeting just as the dwarves battling the elves is mentioned. We should warn them that this is the state of affairs, and see what can be done to shore up their own defences and if necessary fight side by side. We must work with our allies on this. He is determined, and amusingly enough, Who apes his stance as best he can.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
The food was tasty enough, but the visions of that creature jumping upon Eirel, and his utter powerlessness to avoid it are haunting him even as he eats what he suspects is part of the creature. The money was immaterial, but it worried him that they had gone in so unprepared. And then it made him angry. That the miners hadn't been able to help them more through information, and that he had left his guard down even when he knew he was going into danger. I will become the centre of the raging storm, and the calmness of the flowing stream through the forest. None shall stand before me alive if I do not wish them to
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel stands. Vaulting onto that things back had been less successful than he had hoped for, and wasn't something he was going to try again. I need a bow he mutters to himself. In frustration, he looks around, wondering what tools in the environment they might use to kill this thing. Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

I did once look into barbarians, although that was the 3.5 days. I might have another look at them tonight after work, but I am not always convinced by them I guess. Also, going down the Barbarian route doesn't help with the Ranged DPS issues that we are having, and still leads us to being vulnerable if we can't shut the opponent down in melee in round 1.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Nooooo don't abandon the game before the level 20 cap. You have a dedicated core of players who really are enjoying the game. I mean I don't know about the Dwarven side, but I am really enjoying the game still, and a seafaring Kingmaker game sounds EPIC! I can certainly pick up my own posting easily, although PBP combats always tend to take a while. As an aside then, it might just be easier to bring back Talon. I think I could play him again fairly easily, and his DPR was pretty good.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Yeah basically. 5hp post healing, and took 19 damage in total, putting him at 2 points more damage than he needed for final death. I will make someone new, or something. We once again have very little ranged combat utility. I might well make another archer, maybe focusing on a heavy crossbow or something this time. I am not sure. With going core rulebook only, then it almost seems worth it to go down the route of a plain fighter that uses heavy armour and a crossbow. Walks into battle, plonks his ass down and shoots people in the face. Its also pretty damned clear that multi classing makes for an almost pathetically weak character if you multiclass with rogue and druid. I gimped my own character, and for that I apologise.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Thank you Thalas. Who, Follow Eirel will attempt to get on top of the creature, using the walls around him to spring up and onto its back. Who should hopefully be able to do the same, and at least attempt to stay out of too much harms reach. I assume it will need an acrobatics check. Acrobatics Eirel: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Yeah taking 10 seems reasonable. I believe it gives me something like a 20. Will be doing the same for perception checks, meaning that for anything not traplike, I am at a 22, and for a trap I am at 23 to perception Eirel will head slowly down the passage, taking care where he places his feet and looking around him. However, before taking a look and walk down the shaft, he will take a look at the mining cart, including its contents.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Assuming there are torches in the area, Eirel will take a lit one, and also take 5 unlit ones, before heading even close to the way to get down again a level. Before even heading down the ladder with Who, he stops for several minutes at the top of the ladder, just listening. Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 Urgh
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Yes, I will take point. Stay close, if there is going to be a fight, then it will be a fast one, and I do not wish to die upon this dawn. Let's get this done with. Underground areas are for dwarves and the damned. I feel naked without my spells. Eirel walks hurridly towards the deeper areas of the mine, Who following him closely. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
I can run fairly well it is true. I suggest we carry this test out upon the dawn, that should I need to, I can still prepare whatever I might need for later on, should we press deeper in immediately. I will take Who with me, we work well as a team. Eirel looks around. The matter is settled then?
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel looks uncomfortable for a moment as it is mentioned that there might be the possibility of one of their number being split from the others. He waits however, enjoying the performance of the evening, and waiting until they are alone as a group before he raises any questions. I have concerns. We clearly work well as a group, pack tactics as my circle would call them. Encircle and use our strengths to bring them down, tear them apart into smaller pieces and then consume then. With this having been said however, I worry that these people have not told us what these things are. My knowledge of the underworld is almost nonexistent, especially with my living in the cities currently. I do not know of anything in the natural world that can devour magic. However, I also think that there is a great deal to be said for taking a risk. And the risk I propose it bring our magic user with us, using him in essence as bait. We can protect him, of that I have no doubt. We need a method to draw in these things, and the best method that I can think of to do it is to have Seltyn with us.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel stands and bows low and long before the Queen. Speaking of the alchemists, it is clear that things are troubling him. I would ask permission to speak before this court about the alchemists that we met, and with my reservations. He pauses for a moment, checking for assent, before speaking once more. Whilst their magic is powerful, it is also incredibly destructive. If it were to be used on the wilds that are on the mainland... I do not think I would wish to live with the consequences and still consider myself affiliated with this nation. We can believe that our cause is just and the correct thing to do. I have no issue with that. What I do not wish to happen is for this world to be blighted by the magic of Rovagug. I fear that if we were to use the alchemist's magic too often, in the destructive bent that they use it, then we would become just as bad as what we are fighting against. I would ask this court to accept any offers of alliance with them, but to be careful with using the goods that they offer. They wish to have a small sample of some seeds apparently, and I would ask that we ask what they are going to be used to do before simply handing them over. If they are truly on our side, then they should not have much issue giving us that small tidbit of information In essence though, in no small part thanks to the efforts of Wil and Seltyn, you have an offer of alliance with these people, and there was little to report in terms of our travels. How are things within the nation? Where are we needed?
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Running that low in the water means one of two things. Either they are heaving a lot of cargo, or they are struggling and taking water aboard. If there are no objections, we can always take a look and ask. Will liven up the voyage a little Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Eirel has been quiet for much of the day, the performances were beautiful, and he spent much of the time watching them in awe. That bodies could be bent and twisted in such ways and so delicately was unheard of for him. Even as the discussion of war was beginning, he was quiet once more, his hand gently resting upon the head of Who. It was a grim business that was for sure.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel stirs slowly as the harbour comes into view over the horizon. Praying to Gozreh for some time, he goes through the spells that he is likely to need for the day, and then realises that he hasn't a clue what would help. He puts together a few nuggets of spells together in his mind, before preparing the lockpicks and grooming Who for a while. When that work is done, he looks over the rest of his equipment, checking the sword and armour that he wears when out on the missions before standing at the bow, watching the harbour. Aye, to victory. Let us do our kind proud this day DM:
Any chance of watching the harbour and seeing if there is anything interesting going on that might be seen from the water side. If so then I will put some rolls here, take them or ignore them as you wish.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Might as well meet them head on and go in through the main gates. Not much point in skulking around. Only breeds bad blood. he mutters, more to himself than anyone else. Eirel had been quiet for most of the journey, his thoughts private. It was a ragtag band that he had found himself a part of, and he was rather unsure as to where they all stood in relation to each other. There was work to do however, and it needed doing fast. If they were the best to do it, then so be it.
Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18
Eirel listens to the points made so far, and mulls them over for a moment before speaking when there is a pause. It appears that you have multiple paths ahead of you as a group. These desert people might well be useful to speak to. It depends entirely what you hope to gain from them. If you wish further allies, or information. These alchemists, what do you hope to gain? We had a great many potions from the raid on that warehouse, do you really think more might be gained than what we already have? Do we have the material resources to trade with them? If the cult is blunted already, then is it worth continuing on when their position is already weakened and they might be less likely to effectively resist us. If we move in one way, what do we give up in the others, is this known to us? Time is the only thing we really have to spend, and thus we must spend it wisely. Seltyn, lead us.
