Bald male Half-Elf elder

Eidi steps forward beside Ascaria, inclining his head respectfully to Captain Harthgar "Captain Sir, Ascaria speaks true, we did not come all this way to pick fights, though we are not strangers to them. We believe we know what the dragons want from the fortress. We think we can help solve that problem, if your leaders want to hear us"

He folds his hands behind his back, admiring the 'Duff-Kickin' 6000™, and can't help a small, melodic giggle.

"Oh, yest! Necrozyte!!" Eidi points behind the two-story building just a second before it dissapears "The fiendish old green I told you, remember?"

Placing his faith on the task at place, the half-elf extends his hand to Mortimer, then tries to grasp Ascaria's one "Just a little jump through the dark!"

Eidi gives a small shrug, glancing at his companions with a bemused smile "Well, perhaps I have gone senile already, but I believe our Grand Guide of Breathing Fortresses"

The half-elf straightens with a faint creak of joints, nodding toward Gazzilfek "Very well, lead on. I will follow. But do us a kindness, won't you?" he leans in just a touch "Make sure to point out whether we are heading north, or south, or something more... vertically adventurous. My dear half-elf friend will need to know for... navigational purposes"

Eidi lets out a quiet giggle "Oh, dragon teeth... I suppose I should have pocketed a few last time instead of merely dodging their burning breath. Might be handy now" he taps his chin thoughtfully, then touches on his own teething "Though, truth be told, I might need a few myself soon enough. These old things are not what they used to be, hard cheese has become my mortal enemy"

The elder flashes a genuine grin and folds his hands atop the head of his staff before endorsing the words of the others "You clearly have a flair for entrances and exits, my good Gazzilfek, and your caution speaks to a certain wisdom. If you truly can help us speak with the King, or at least step further than these doors, we would appreciate knowing how you are going to do it"

Eidi chuckles softly at Solrisa's reminiscing and muses with a playful twinkle in his eye "Ah, a true talent for knocking, then. A skill underestimated in its versatility"

He shifts his weight slightly, leaning on his staff with the casual grace of someone well accustomed to preserving his energy "Let's see if this door prefers diplomacy over force"

"Oh, but let me link our minds before our jaunty friend decides to leave us alone in another excursion" the elders says some magic words and casts telepathic bond on the party.

Reaching the Palace's imposing double doors, Eidi lands with deliberate caution, letting out a small huff as his feet finally touch solid ground "Ah, good old stone beneath my boots. No offense to the air, but nothing like a sure foot rocky ground to feel safe" he dusts off his robes and straightens up, adjusting his staff.

As Ascaria vanishes into the ether, Eidi watches with quiet amusement, his aged features creasing in a fond smile "Ah! Smart and bold, I see what you are doing there” he murmurs, voice touched with warmth. He folds his hands over his staff, settling in patiently "Let's see what marvels our dear gnome unveils from his scouting foray"

Eidi watches the giants devour Ascaria's conjured feast with a bemused expression "Ah, the universal power of a full belly. Wars have paused for less!"

The half-elf then nods to Gulk thoughtfully "Bagg Harthgar, you say? And tell me, does your captain also enjoy a good meal, or is he more of the 'brooding and scowling' type?" he offers a wry smile, but doesn’t expect much of an answer.

Eidi follows Solrisa, his movements through the air, however, are not nearly as effortless. Where the others glide with the grace of battle-ready warriors, the old half-elf's steps through the wind are deliberate, measured, each shift of his weight requiring a careful adjustment. His robes billow slightly as he trudges forward, one hand gripping his staff for balance, even though it provides no real support in midair.

"Bah" he mutters under his breath, shaking his head "You would think after all these months together, I would be used to walking on air. But no, old habits persist"

Bald male Half-Elf elder

Eidi blinks in confusion at Ascaria, his aged features crinkling in amusement "[]Well now, those are quite the names![/b]" he says with a good-natured smile.

Still floating amidst the chaos, Eidi's expression turns more thoughtful as he surveys the battlefield: the dragons, the giants, the destruction "You know, these dragons are not here for the thrill of battle, nor for our charming company. It is that accursed phylactery drawing them in. If we take it, we might just be able to shift the battlefield elsewhere. Perhaps spare more lives in the process"

Turning his gaze toward the giants, he gestures with open palms, a sign of parley "We should tell them. Make them see reason. The dragons will not stop coming as long as the phylactery remains here. Give it to us, and perhaps we can lead this storm away from Kongen Thulnir"

Bald male Half-Elf elder

Eidi is at full health and does not drain Ascaria. He rejoices as the dragons suspend the offensive, even if just temporary "Hum, hum, yes, I think it is time for the talking thing my dear friend. But what, does any of you understand what those giants are saying?"

The half-elf walks the winds to near the giant's tower to call their attention "Hello friendly giants, should you happen to understand me? I guess we have proven our intentions here this time. Could we have a more civilized talk with your leathership? We even got some dragon heads there" he points to the fallen enemies.

Apparently there is a location relevant to those prophecies that she sorted out to be here: The Spire of Long Shadows. Sorry, I got quite busy finishing work before holidays, then got stranded by the Christmas.

An indeed detailed work. The map coloring and lettering really helped, thanks a lot for the gigantic effort!

Besides, Merry Christmas everyone!

"Crawler Loads. That's the unusual ammunition they are using. Severed carrion crawler heads. The worse is not the impact but the large reservoir of carrion crawler brain juice poison inside. Nasty" explains Eidi, then realizing Ascaria does not see the whole picture "Oh, there is a huge giant city clinging on the cliff. There are three pinnacles to the west, two of them seem inhabited and connect to the main city with bridges. The streets seem a chaos, the place has been on fight for a while"

Arriving to the citadel, the half-elf points to the top of the tower "We probably are better landing on there to figure better out what is going on. We can then explore invisibly the citadel. My only fear is appearing unannounced might not be seen as very friendly"

"I think for now we are trying to figure out what is happening. So, yes, let's try this invisibility trick" seeing Ascaria does not use invisibility purge yet, Eidi casts sphere of invisibility and leads the party into the town to see what the giants are up to and what's the siege about.

"This is worrisome, a couple of those dragons I know and their presence can only mean doom" Eidi looks concerned and points at one notorious ancient red dragon perched on a far tower, watching the battle across the city "That is Brazzemal the Burning. Hundreds of years ago, his fury brought an age of fire down upon several southern nations, and countless adventurers perished in an attempt to locate the dragon’s lair in the inhospitable Hellfurnaces. Eventually, the dragon allied with the giant armies of King Snurre and played a part in the razing of Sterich. He hasn’t been heard from in nearly two decades"

Then he points to a building, to some invisible dragon "And that is Necrozyte. This one is a fiendish old green dragon that hails from the Nine Hells, where she served as a guardian over one of Tiamat’s hoards nonetheless. When a particularly sly adventuring party recently stole a book of infinite spells from this hoard, Tiamat exiled Necrozyte to the Material Plane, where she has maintained a relatively low profile"

"Indeed, battle is chaos Ascaria, but perhaps we could try to check out if the giants are potential allies or also enemies... Do you want us to try out sneaking into the city and talking with their leaders? It might be as risky as facing an army of dragons..." if so, Eidi will cast sphere of invisibility for the group to more easily get into the city.

"Hmmm... thanks for the information Damsk. The Prince clown was most insidious, I would not be surprised any of the guests decided to show him some place... deep down in the ocean" the half-elf chuckles and accepts another glass of milk before departing.

"So yes Solrisa! It's North! Follow me!" Eidi exclaims as he completes the find the path spell.

The elder is greatly impressed by the size of the ruins. Spotting the dragons attacks, he rushes to the top of the cliff, somewhere well hidden behind a rock where the group can safely transform back into themselves.

Once into solid matter again he points to the ruins alarmed "Have you seen that? The place is under siege... by dragons! Those must be Dragotha's minions..."

Eidi tries to look from a safe distance if the dragons are undead or alive, and if there is some structure in the ruins that seems inhabited.

"Oh it is fine Damsk, it is great to remember a good story" Eidi orders a large glass of milk "I can explain you when the Lord Prince and myself we become chickens and had a fought to see whom of us would turn most others into stone. How does that one sound?"

"You should have also seen the display of true strength between Mortimer and Hoff, the dwarf yes, it was impressive and many assistants ate their nails out of tension" the half-elf nods asserting the truth of the tale "The feast was so rich that even Eri and Mortimer tossed chocolade at each other, can you figure out that? How Zeech manages to get all those richness?"

"Or when Zeech gave me a marzipan soup as trophy" the elder rolls his eyes on the memories of his soaked clothings.

After long hours of flight, Eidi points out "Perhaps we can try to look for signs of intelligent life. Some buildings or other kind of structures, so we can just ask where the Rift Canyon is exactly? Otherwise I guess we can ask for the gods to guide us"

If there is no villages or lone huts where to ask, Eidi can prepare and cast find the path

Eidi studies the phylacteries portfolio "This is very useful, thanks a lot for it Manzorian"

"What do you think about having a second breakfast by the Laughing Dawn Tavern as is tradition with our first visits to Alhaster and remember old days with Damsk? I know it was just a couple of months ago, but it rings as if it has been two years already" Eidi points towards the area of the docks "Maybe just a drink before taking flight into the more serious stuff"

Before leaving the Church of Blessed Deliverance, Eidi casts mage armor on himself.

"I have had a dream my worm fighter friends. We waked up in a world without Dragotha and its dragon minions and we could make the Pub an inter-planar tavern for adventurers around to join in great feasts of spirited beverages, tender meat and delightful cookies." Eidi smiles one day with all preparations completed.

With everything else ready, the half-elf casts teleport ant brings the group back to Alhaster where they can perform a faster travel.

"Yes sure, take some Solrisa" Eidi is happy to see the maiden happy once again. The elder creates a heroes' breakfast specially stoked with hams, cheeses and cakes of many flavors, including chocolate and strawberry ones. In fact, he does this every day while they gear up to fight Dragotha.

After the 9th days, he is half-way to complete his crafting, but otherwise he is ready to travel "I can teleport us to Alhaster, from there maybe Ascaria can make us again into a white cloud so we can direct ourselves to the Mindspin Mountains. The Rift Canyon must be about 500 miles northeast"
