On my part, I'm sorry. I had intended to have a quick transition into bonding with the group. (and thought that a teamwork premise would be a good time for an accelerated character arc of that type) I read it again after you bowed out, and thought I might have pushed to hard trying to be part of the dynamic.

After throwing her gear into the pile, Duroja sneered at the hopping fop's weak words.

Before even taking a look at the challenge, she scanned the group for any who might have what it takes to lead.
As she heard the witch take charge, she beat back a distracting memory of the only man she admired. Stormin Morgan.... 'That man knew how to lead.. awe-inspiring presence, commanding voice, nice shoulders....' Duroja suddenly realized she was staring at Lorth, licking her lips.

She snapped out of it, and moved toward Melashara - removing her belt, and calling out... "Listen up, you empty skulls! Are you men, or toddlers on an egg hunt?! We are working together!"

Duroja felt uncomfortable with the praise she shared, and even more so with the gift. 'I have not earned this, but to protest would be petty I suppose' She opened the bag and peered at the token. She smiled at the irony after determining the small trinket was the very thing to nearly "defeat" her in battle.

Duroja pulled herself over the side of the boat from which she had just freed herself, and scrambled to the top as fast as she could. Focusing her frustration into frog-flaying fantasies she felt the mad grin burn in her cheeks, and ecstatic shivers of anticipation. 'First time gutting a frog... I hope enough of the locals have fled or fallen to get a clean shot...'

Duroja fumed under the weight of the boat. She tried to free herself, but failed. She felt a small piece of herself start to lose hope, and it enraged her. 'I can reach my shield and grease myself... I will not die like this. Death by Swan Boat!' After finding her motivation, she twisted around so she could push herself out without having to resort to magic.

Duroja reached back for her shield, just noticing the thorns growing from her skin. She saw the blue slaad's hammer come down and turned away from the resulting spray of debris ... and straight into the rapidly enlarging swan. She was knocked into the pit, flattened and nearly pinned before her mind could process what had happened.

Duroja ducked behind a small group of bystanders ... evading the spray the best she could. She watched the sick globs spray over the unfortunates, and moved to the slightly more durable cover of a nearby kiosk. While doing so, Duroja continued to look for those who appeared to be up to the challenge.
"Clear the way!" she barked at the person blocking her line of fire.

Upon hearing the clamor, Duroja turned her attention toward the invaders. She muttered under her breath "Beasts have come to be culled."
Duroja took a moment to discern the biggest threats to her, just like in the arena... take out ranged threats, then support those who have shown themselves worthy..
But she had been away too long. Most of those she had fought with and against were gone.

DM DH had just gladiator in mind when I made this alias .. Now having a better feel for the spirit of the game I'd like to submit..

yep .. with this many people it can get crazy. If it gets overwhelming (don't want DM DH to burn out) could split the initiative in half. Top half posts one day second half next. But I guess that might get even more confusing though .. I'm really enjoying reading it though .. can't wait to get in the ring!

this is good to know too if you aren't completely familiar with splash rules.. targeting grid can be good 1st level against high ac from dex opponents..

Splash Weapon Rules:

Throw Splash Weapon

...You can instead target a specific grid intersection. Treat this as a ranged attack against AC 5. However, if you target a grid intersection, creatures in all adjacent squares are dealt the splash damage, and the direct hit damage is not dealt to any creature. You can't target a grid intersection occupied by a creature, such as a Large or larger creature; in this case, you're aiming at the creature.

If you miss the target (whether aiming at a creature or a grid intersection), roll 1d8. This determines the misdirection of the throw, with 1 falling short (off-target in a straight line toward the thrower), and 2 through 8 rotating around the target creature or grid intersection in a clockwise direction. Then, count a number of squares in the indicated direction equal to the range increment of the throw. After you determine where the weapon landed, it deals splash damage to all creatures in that square and in all adjacent squares.

... Duroja frowned as she bashed the training dummy repeatedly, tediously... she took a moment and looked thoughtfully around the room...
.. She then returned to her own little corner, chickens lashed by one foot, suspended from the ceiling .. she practiced her bob and weave and shield bash on the swinging squawking chickens... and then the chakram flew from her hand across the room .. severing the head of a terrified chicken she had tied to the wooden dummy ... she then took a moment to "acknowledge the crowd" victorious in a fountain of chicken blood .. as the chakram reappeared in her hand .. "my time .. will come" ..

Satisfied seeing no foul comments from those heartily eating, Duroja snatched enough bread and meat to fill her stomach, and continued to pace slowly ... trying to stay limber... "Hope whoever I'm facings ready .. hate to pull my punches just to make a match last longer than some glory-blind whelp's introduction.. " She smiled just enough to be able to claim it was in jest.
