Who's talking 'bout me? I'll punch 'em!

You need a tough Halflin', huh?

Better at staying out of grapples, not keepin' people in 'em.

People need to make checks to get out of a grapple you know, and Grapple checks are one of the ways.

"Bring it one you Medium-Sized Monks! I'll punch your kneecaps out and then use then to beat your head in!"

Raised by half-orcs, I'm stronger than most halflings you normally see. I'm better at keeping people in holds too, because I took the favored class option for Halfling Monks in the APG.

If I get a hold of you, your chances of getting away are low. Still wanna wrestle?

I'm going to wait for the fight to end before I jump back in. Don't want to disrupt the flow.

Pathfinder Reference Document. It's free, and has all the non setting-specific rules on it.

Well, in all likely hood, I should be able to post everyday from now on. It's up to Wareagle.

Um, that would be me. Sorry. I was afk without warning myself, and everyone was already in battle before I got back, so I waited.

He can take my place if you want.

"Don't worry about it! With me as a rower you've got little to fear of timed fees!" Dric boasts.

You forget one thing about us halflings. We are fearless. Bring on the big baddies! I'll punch out their knnecaps and bring 'em down to my level!

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"I'd give it shot. Might want a boat nearby in case we can't make it though."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

We're meeting in the goblin?

Ghosts, eh? What's the deal with them? I know little, I'm afraid.

"Worse thing about ghosts is that I can't hurt 'em. The got an unfair advantage and, while I usually don't care about stuff like that, that means I won't be any good against 'em."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"If ye keep drinking like that, you'll have to be carried out before the night is done." Dric tells Krokolam with a laugh. "At least pace yourself with a drnkin' gam or something."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Drinks on the house, eh? I'm not one to turn down a free drink." Dric says before he takes a long swig of the drink set before him. He casts an eye around the room, watching to see if anyone heard the elf's question and decided to keep an on them.

Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"I doubt the swill they have in the pubs will effect me much after that soup. Besides, I can drink orc ale and stay standing. Sometimes. I just might not remember the rest of the night."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Rum? I'm in. We'll clear out the goblins and this keep in quick order." Dric says. "It will be a good chance to see me family anyway. Dric Ghawn, at your service, Councilman. At a price. The promise of rum will only get me so far."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

I knew I was forgetting something...

"It is the only thing I have ever tasted that was hotter than my Father's home-brewed drink. I liked it quite a bit. You could make a fortune running your own inn and having contests to find more stomachs like mine!"

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Heh, name's Dric Ghawn if you want to tell the chef." The strong halfling tells the people around him. "Now, does anyone think they can eat a whole bowl? An iron stomach -or mouth with this soup- competition could be an interesting way to pass the time. I'll try to eat another bowl if one of you will!"

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"What, haven't you guys seen someone eat fire before?" Dric asks when he notices everyone looking at him.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Will Save:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Dric eats the soup with gusto, loving the spicy flavors.

"This is pretty good soup. Doesn't need a thing."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Dogs with translators, people who can't handle a bit of drink, and people who can't keep their stomach from acting up, fine lot of adventurers this boat has." Dric says as he walks over from an arm wrestling victory. "Some of those guys can't even get me to work up a sweat."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Dric walks up to the deck and stretches before going about the other adventuring crews and challenging them to contests of strength. Who would have though the short little halfling could be so loud and boastful about his strength.?

Oropher Helyan wrote:

Updated me, let me know what else needs being done. Again, fairly new, so dont hesitate to be critical.

Also, the idea of hitting people with wagons sounds ridiculous. My char will have a little pigsticker, meanwhile you're throwing oxen at them.

Actually, throwing oxen would be a bad idea for me, since I don't have thrown anything and I'm pretty sure oxen count as two-handed weapons. I can't throw a quarterstaff as a Monk of the Empty Hand.

Maybe a pig, but then it's only a 1d4 of damage because it acts like a club.

Hm, Weapon Focus(Bacon)...

With it though, I have the ability to pick up boulders and(theoretically) use them as Improvised Weapons.

The thought of using a wagon as a quarterstaff is hilarious to me. Mostly because I imagine the look on the target's face when I do it.

Db3 here, with the other Halfling I was talking about.

Wareagle, what are your thoughts on Pack Mule(see Lyle's post)?

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Well, as much as it pains me to do so, I'm going to bow out. I love the idea of a whole adventuring family, and hope we can get some Ghawns together again, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. Sorry.

Ghawn to the end!

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"I'm over here Dhrek, watching the half-elf play with pebbles."

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Growing impatient, Dric is momentarily distracted by anothe half-elf appearing. Not one to be put off for long, he goes to the 1d20 ⇒ 8 left door and pulls/pushes at it so it will open, traps be damned.

"Since when was a Ghawn afraid of traps?"

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Half-Elf = Second cousin twice removed.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

I'm fine with the groups as they are.

As for Bobson's possible character, the halfling could provide wonderful roleplaying with myself. Other than that, they are all pretty solid choices in my opinion(I've played a halfling paladin myself, it's fun smiting demons 16 times your size), and he can join whichever camp he wants.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Groltsch, you know very well I can't stand donkeys. There about the only thing as stubborn as a Ghawn." Dric says he heads for the tunnel. "Don't see why any of us would bring one of the blasted things down in this dungeon anyway..."

He seems to have completely misunderstood what his brother was saying.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Hey Gramps, I love what you've done with the place." Dric says as he moves a rock to get a place without undulating moss. "Can't say I like the moss, but it might make a nice pillow in the right pack. So what'cha got for us?"

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

As far as I know, there isn't a way. You could always just type your bonus for traps after your normal roll. 1d1 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 +11 vs traps

That roll would be a 12 to find traps for example.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

Survival:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

"Well it looks like I won't be needing my torch!" Dric says as he strides into the cave, his small size making it seem much bigger than it really is.

Male Halfling Empty Handed Monk

"Hello brothers!" Dric says heartily. "So it's not just me that got a floating piece of scrap paper? Ha, that means the rest of us must of got one too! It's been too long since I last picked one of you up!"

Walking out of a local bar after being accused(falsely) of cheating at arm-wrestling and breaking the accusers nose with his own flagon, Dric is a bit surprised by the scroll floating in front of him.

Knowledge(Local):1d20 ⇒ 14

"The old home, huh? Haven't been there in a while..." Wondering who sent him the letter, Dric heads for his childhood home.

"You hit 'em high and I'll hit 'em low!"

Precise is nice for me, a little extra damage while flurrying with a pair of chairs never hurt!

Swap will be good in case anyone needs to get out of melee.

Camp 1. Us adopted halflings gotta stick together!

Background:

It was a strange twist of fate that brought the orphaned Dric to the Ghawn family cave, a weary 6 six year-old who couldn’t think of anything but getting out of the storm and getting close to the fire. He walked into the half-orc filled cave boldly and sitting next to their fire, where he promptly fell asleep. Impressed by such a tiny child’s bravery, he was adopted when the Ghawn’s were able to figure out Dric couldn’t remember his parents.

Years passed, and Dric realized he was not as helpful to his family as the rest of his siblings. He was not a strong, and he lacked the frightening quality half-orcs have. So, wanting like all children to be useful, Drick began to use an time he had to work on getting stronger. Somehow hiding this for years, he was eventually lifting rocks three times his weight and throwing them around. Now he could be useful.

Growing older led to going to taverns for a drink, and on his first time to one he started a bar fight. Some elven lout had dared to insult his family! The fight didn’t last long, and after quite literally throwing people out of the bar, Dric found that he had a side-job as a bouncer. He treated his family to a night of ale and food… and another bar fight. But what was the point of going to a tavern if you didn’t have a little fun?

Lucky for the sheriff, Dric was restrained by his adoptive siblings (they had to pick him up to do it) when Mamma and Papa Ghawn were executed. Boulders would have flown otherwise. Wanting nothing more than to leave this town until he could come back and clear his parent’s names, Dric grabbed Papa Ghawn first hunting spear when everyone decided to move.

Finally got this finished.

well, it does meet the requirements of being found on the website, but its not very useful in a fight. it only increases your str for carry cap and encumbrance, not for actual fighting. so sure, you can take it and be "nodwick the henchman", but wont get a bonus in fights...

I'd like to point out the line where I said I wanted to be able to use a table in a bar fight. I did the math and found out I can pick up a maximum of 600 pounds and drag 1500.

I will be the strongest halfling in the world!

Tiny Coffee Golem wrote:
I'll play a cleric. I have an idea for a sneaky halfling cleric. His domains are travel and trickery. He worships a concept, not a actual deity since none of the deities actually have those domains. The concept is a little esoteric, but its basically akin the the american indian coyote god. If that sounds interesting enough to be included let me know and I'll write him up.

Cousin! How are you?

Basic profile done, creating background. Initial basics are he was kicked out of the family for a while and became a monk after wandering onto the temple grounds half frozen to death and accidently ate some sacred mushrooms, granting him temporary enlightenment. Thus the qinggong monk archetype.

I was just going to say I liked to stick up for my family in the local bars!

@DEWN MOU'TAIN: There is a feat in a 3pp(Secrets of the Alchemist) for Pathfinder called Pack Mule. It allows you to treat your Strength as if it were 4 points higher for the purpose of carrying capacity and encumbrance. This basically came around as I was trying to figure out how I could use a table in a bar fight. I'd like to know if you will allow it, and I can put the complete text for it in my profile.

Plus, my friend and I got a real laugh out of imagining a halfling juggling his half-orc kin...

"He's getting all shifty on us with his decisions.. Zeirka, pick me up so I can look him in the eye!"
