what "morsel" are they trying to grab? Actual food or a person?

Perception if I don't already know 1d20 + 1 Move action

If I know its food they want b4 check then I used full-round action to run to the food at quadruple speed to the food

If I know its a person they want b4 check then I will go to my allies shooting at the scorpions [move action] and draw a dagger [standard action since its concealed]

If I need a perception check and I know its food they want then I will go to the food as fast as possible [move action]

If I need a perception check and I know its people they want then I will go to my allies as fast as possible [move action]

Any PC getting too close to the barricade that surrounds the outpost is the morsel.

The bolt finds a soft, fleshy spot and the scorpion winces in pain as it further embeds itself into the creature.

The two giant scorpions were clawing viciously at the unfinished cage, tearing it apart and reaching between the bars where appropriate to grab a quick snack.

Round 1 initiative order
Armistad
Ivers
Scorpion 2
Magali
Grillik
Darius
Silas
Thom
Scorpion 1

Just post your actions and I will organize them in the correct order. You may change your action if its potency is affected by someone ahead of you in the order that posts after you do.

With a bit more light, the guards determine that the beast that they were worried about before, was not present. Instead, two giant scorpions were snapping at the partially constructed cage around the outpost trying to grab a morsel from inside of it. Some guards are readying a ballista as you figure out what your next move should be.

scorpion 1 initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 6

scorpion 2 initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Upon agreement, the viceroy orders a barrel of ale to be rolled off.Silas says it should wait until they reach the outpost.

Just then an enormous man flanked by a plated goon moves towards them, applauding. Nice show. I am Viceroy Celadon and I can personally guarantee each one of you 2, 000 gold to help us get our cargo safely to Martel. What do say?

The crazed dogmen closed in to about 30 feet. There were 8 healthy ones ready to feast in the barren waste. Lackey called frantically for any additional help to the front.

Defending the crawler from the rear flank, Grillik tries hard to avoid the onslaught.
musket: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1

Again, sparks fly as the ball ricochets off of the iron crawler.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. Don't ask about the chest. For your sake, it doesn't exist.

The caravan was composed of two crawlers-metal steam wagons with multiple spiked wheels. They were durable and fireproof, but also loud and slow. Silas frequently pointed out the fact that if the machines had been enclosed, they would have been better inventions. As most engineers pointed out to him however, was that the inside would get too hot.The other three vessels were your standard wooden wagons, although well-crafted, they could burn and required horses, not coal to power them. Captain Aring led the caravan until a musket ball entered his neck and ended his life. He was a veteran of the Wastes and warned often to maintain strict vigilance for the many horrors of the plains. The three dignitaries from Quantium were shrouded in secrecy and traveled with four elite bodyguards who will not fight unless there is a direct threat to the dignitaries. Silas and Armistad were hired as that first line of protection. Silas saw it as a paid trip home, while Armistad thought that the idea was insane.
