The meal is actually quite good, for goblin standards, and the booze has some kick to it.

Vrosi, as Markus' pointed out, does have some time to tinker with the lock while the others rest after the meal. Eventually, the lock gives way.

Inside, there is a 50-foot length of rope, a pair of grappling hooks, an everburning torch, four lesser healing potions, and a pouch of silk with 400 silver pieces.

Cerrus

I think you even made two potency crystals last daily preparations that were never used. At the very least I had two potency crystals in your character sheet already.

Netkin

Downtime is different from daily preparations, as downtime takes a day (assumed to be ~8 hours of actively doing something), and daily preparations are 1 hour. However, since you already have the formula for the spider repellent, you can use your advance alchemy or your quick alchemy to create some spider repellent.

You got the formula for spider repellent on June 18th.

”Thank you for the warning. It is true that we are not familiar with the game here. But we are hunters. We will adapt. We will learn how to hunt the local game. And we will share with the bumblebrashers. They have been good to us.”

Ardoinel

The warg pups are with the bumblebrashers, eating of their food and playing, a little too rough, with them. Not that the goblins mind for them to play a little rough, they actually seem to enjoy it.

Resa

Fun fact, spiders are more likely to be venomous than to be poisonous. Although the vast majority of spiders’ venoms pose little to no threat to (adult) humans. As for the poisonous ones, I hope no one is going around licking or eating spiders to find out if they are.

Also, I love Resa’s character development/learning throughout the adventure.

Kiilo, you would be right if the runestone was in another item. It would be free in this case, since you are getting the runestones with the runes.

"...the Price of the transfer is 10% of the rune's Price, unless transferring from a runestone, which is free."

Other than that, it does take a day and you need the magical crafting feat. The DC for the check would be 16, as it is a level 2 crafting task.

Also, even if you were to craft a +1 weapon from scratch you would only need between 17.5gp and 35gp depending on how long you spend working on it. Between 50gp and 100gp would be for a +1 Striking weapon. Basic magical weapons are common, so you wouldn't need a formula to craft them.

Kiilo's miraculous song make quick work of Mosquito’s injuries, allowing them to stop bleeding and close on their own.

There is not much of value in the piles of notes, papers, papyri and books, but there is one hand written scribble that sounds oddly relevant to Mosquito. The note reads “Aha! Entrance to Alseta’s Ring—Guardian’s Way.”

Vrosi’s Warfare lore:

Guardian’s Way is an abandoned outpost that was used during the Goblinblood Wars. It is located about 6 miles northwest of town, in a wooden enclave. The outpost itself consists of three treetop observation platforms in addition to a single ground-level building, all located in a clearing in a heavily wooded area.

Markus

The slime continues to burst with the sustained heat of the flame. Splashes of slime go flying, staining the floor around it, and the mass of the creature reduces as it boils.

Just like Mosquito’s needles before, the metallic darts fly through the slime, leaving more and more holes in its structure.

Vrosi

Vrosi rushes in and smacks across the slime until his mikazuki hits the ground, dispersing more and more of the slime throughout the room.

Mosquito

A third barrage of needles and there is only a few threats of slime getting the creatures structure standing.

Kiilo

Kiilo asked me to bot Force Barrage.

Kiilo moves past Markus to aim at the slime over Mosquito’s shoulder. Shaping energy in the shape of feathers, he sends them straight towards the slime.

damage: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 1) + 4 = 11

The feathers hit one after the other, and the whole structure collapses. Gravity takes over the slimy substance which crashes into the ground and splashes in all directions, in a wave of acrid goo.

The slime is actually down. Markus did massive damage to it as all three of his attacks were critical

With a some of the rope and wood from the broken arrows and twigs from the trees, you are able to create a sconce to prop the everburning torch in.

We can treat the sconce as a Basic Prosthesis for the purpose of the invention feat. The torch, which should be an Everlight Crystal in the version can remain propped there. I will consider it to be an active source of light as long as it is there.

Are you camping for the night, as Cerrus suggested, or are you forging ahead with Resa exploring deeper into the caves?

Taking the following into account:

I would say: yes, if you use Administer First Aid to stabilize, you can use Battle Medicine to heal.

The hobgoblin gets ready for Ardoinel to strike her with a spell, but she is not expecting the sudden charge of the shield. The shield hits her in a fiery explosion. The light coming from the ignition blinds Resa just as she throws her starknife, and the weapon goes flying past the hobgoblin.

Cerrus takes a swing at her next, but his warning shout is heard by the hobgoblin as well. She ducks out of the hammer’s way, and into the fist of Netkin’s construct, who Netkin commanded to flank her.

The burns and the trauma from the construct’s fists are more than she can take, and she falls, bleeding, to the ground.

Ardoinel, does ignition use d4s or d6s? I thought it was d4s.

You each get 160xp for defeating the bloody blade mercenaries.

Throwing a Chirurgeon Field Vial at a willing creature is actually an Interact Action, so there is no need for the attack roll. It’s basically free healing!

You lob your vial at Cerrus, covering him in a mixture of chemicals that soon begins to heal his wounds.

Cerrus

The darkness dissipates and you begin to hear the sounds around you once again. You wake up, but you are Wounded 1

Resa

Not for long, soon you’ll be up and running just like Cerrus!

The hobgoblin follows Ellaeaanda with her eyes, and with her bow. She notches two arrows, one after the other, and lets them fly towards her target. In spite of the distance, the trees, and the shadows, the hobgoblin proofs why she is the one leading the now-deceased half-orcs. Both arrows pierce through the small branches in the way and hit Ellaeaanda. You take 5 piercing damage for each arrow, for a total of 10 piercing damage. Remaining cool-headed, she then embraces the cover of her tree once again.

Ellaeaanda, what are we planning to do? Keep on attacking the half-orc and hope he falls? Or should Netkin already run to safety?

I’m waiting for Delta Arena’s ruling on the Seek action because that’ll affect my options. Currently I’m hoping to snipe the half-orc while playing hide-and-seek with the hobgoblin, but we’ll see.

I think Netkin should run and hide now because (a) he’s low on HP, and (b) bombs are his best offense, but we don’t want to hit Cerrus with splash damage. It’d be great if he could hide close to the shack entrance—ideally so that, when it's safe, he could Stride inside the shack, Battle Medicine Ardoinel, Close Door in one turn. With the door closed Netkin would be safe from arrows, and it should take at least a full turn for the enemies to close to melee range.

Oh no, I'm sorry, I only checked the game thread yesteday and missed the question here.

The way I understand seek is that the diameter of the area is 30ft, it doesn't need to be within 30ft of you. That's why there can be penalties if you seek far away. In this case I would say you are close enough to seek red, you'd take penalties to seek purple. Also remember that they are Hidden, not Undetected, which means that you still know which square they are in.

If you want to change your turn based on this, I'm good with that.

The needles go straight for the target, piercing in between its armour before the magic dissipates.

I dealt the damage to red

Vrosi

Vrosi doesn’t expect the wight to block his attacks and his attempts to pin it down, but the undead is surprisingly fast and sturdy in defending itself.

Mosquito

Oh, blessings. Blessings of Cayden Cailean for Mosquito and his party of brave adventurers. Vrosi is healed, and the wight is pierced. But will that be enough to make it through?

Kiilo

It nearly is enough, but the darkness around the wight protects it from having the void energy in it sucked out by Easivra’s energy. But the other wight is not so lucky, as energy feathers fly off against it and finish it off. The wight moves erratically as the void energy keeping it together fails. Using the last of its energy, the wight brings its halberd down on Vrosi, who doesn’t see it coming due to the erratic movements, taking a direct hit from the polearm. Vrosi takes 11 slashing damage The wight then collapses to the ground, unmoving. A pale corpse decomposing. One of the glowing runes on the wall disappears.

AB: Demoralize*, Strike*x2

Alak

The pain awakens the hellknights training, and he immediately retaliates with a powerful swing. The blow slices cleaning through the wight, splitting it in two across the waist. the wight takes 26 slashing damage But the void keeps the top half of the wight moving as it dies, and it swings again in an attempt to bring the hellknight down with it. Once again, the hellknight is struck by the blade of the undead. Alak takes 11 slashing damage

AB: Vicious Swing**

AB: Final Spite®

Both wights are down

The wights remain unmoving, a second glowing rune on the wall disappears, and, shortly after, so do all the remaining runes. The necromantic aura of the place goes away along with them.

And with the necromantic ward gone, you all go up to level 3!

Taking advantage of the enemy on the ground, Kiilo unleashes vital energy that disperses the void that holds the wight together, the creature wriggles on the ground.

Yellow Wight

The wight turns towards Mosquito and stares into his eyes. Mosquito sees the barrel dry up and the music stop playing in the infinite void on the wight’s eye sockets.

Mosquito is Frightened 1

Seeing, the shock in the goblin’s eyes, the wight swings its halberd twice. Both swings find their mark on the goblin. Mosquito can feel the corruption of the void encroaching on his wounds, but the blessing of Cayden keeps it at bay.

Mosquito takes 12 and 7 slashing damage for a total of 19 slashing damage

Netkin scribbles on his formula book for a while, scratching things out and writing new things. He looks for alternatives he either has with him, Cerrus is carrying or are available in the citadel. Of course, having access to his vials makes everything much easier. And there is no lack of abhorrent smells he can mix into them. Then, it’s just a matter of mixing the vial.

You do collectively have the money, I don’t know how much each of you wants to (retroactively) spend to cover for the invention cost.

Netkin, I have added the formula to your formula book. I have also counted one use of your versatile vials for you to make the repellent that Ellaeaanda uses. I think invent just creates the formula, not the item itself.

Once Ellaeaanda lays down the train of food, and everyone is in position, it is time to take down the barrier. The roaring and scratching can be heard from the other side of the barricade. Ellaeaanda pulls one of the logs holding the barricade, and the structure comes crashing down.

It takes no time before the door bursts open and a massive grizzly bear pounces out of the room.

It turns its head towards Ellaeaanda as she runs to the door. It begins to move towards her, before the smell of the repellant reaches it. It exhales as it turns and lowers its head.

Cerrus and Ardoinel close the door behind the seer.

The bear paces around for a moment, its nose saturated by the smell of the repellant, before it catches the scent of food. It leans lower towards the floor and starts tracking the trail. One by one it eats the morsels, slowly moving from one to the other. It leaves the room, then the thin hall, then the main hall. It follows the trail all the way through the secret entrance and out into the wilderness.

You each get 60 xp from the bear.

You each get a hero point as well for how well thought out the plan was.

In spite of his words, Netkin actually sees something at the bottom of the puddle thanks to the light that Ellaeaanda created. The puddle is about 4ft deep, and resting at the bottom there is a little vial with a clear liquid inside.

I realized that I missed giving 120xp for finding out what the cultists are up to. My bad! 120xp for everyone.

Mosquito

Yeah, I’m fine with you changing it to Braggart, you’ve been using both pretty evenly.

Kiilo

I assume you are targeting the one that’s holding you?

Kiilo phases the bolts through the creature, making them reappear inside of it. They pierce through, coming out the back, making the creature bleed.

Frogger (teal)

From the corner of the room, the creature takes in a mouthful of air before it lets out a deep, drawn out croaking noise.

kiilo’s will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Markus’ will save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Mosquito’s will save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Vrosi’s will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Unlike the other creature's croak, there is something about this one that dissonates with anything natural, giving you an eerie feeling. You are all Frightened 1

Then, having seen Mosquito’s agility, the creature turns to face him and launches its tongue.

tongue vs Mosquito:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Mosquito blocks the tongue with his shield, but the creature follows up swinging its club against him.

club vs Mosquito:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

As if it was mere child's play, Mosquito blocks the club as easily as he had blocked the tongue.

AB: Terrifying Croak*, Strike*x2

Frogger (green)

Keeping its hold on the Bard, the creature dashes towards him, raising its club and bringing it down on him.

club vs Mosquito:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

bludgeoning damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Being tied-up by the creature's tongue prevents Kiilo from getting out of the way of the incoming blow, and the club crashes straight into his chest.

AB: Grab* (to extend), Stride*, Strike*

You can all take your turns.
