Now for the rant about Repairing the construct.
Reapir makes no sense as a mechanic for healing the construct. The DC scales with the level of the construct, which is to say Netkin's level DC, but the amount healed doesn't scale. Meanwhile, the construct's HP and damage taken do scale as the creatures become more powerful.
Maybe I am misunderstanding something. After all, it says to Repair when it drops to 0 and becomes Broken. It doesn’t mention how it should be repaired otherwise.
I would just treat it as a treat wounds with crafting. What does everyone think about it?
I'm fine with it! If I have to treat Wounds to heal the Construct, then, can I also use Battle Medicine on it? How long would it take to heal it?

Taking the following into account:
"First, most effects that end the dying condition don't work to save a construct companion, but a construct can be stabilized using the Administer First Aid action, using the Crafting skill instead of Medicine."I would say: yes, if you use Administer First Aid to stabilize, you can use Battle Medicine to heal.

Having no strong feelings one way or another, the construct rules seems to make the most sense when you look at it like how all items have hp, but if its broke, its broke, once repaired the difference between 50hp and 20hp matter not to the function, but to future repairs. So I see no reason why scaling the healing like other healing scales would be different.

@Netkin, Thank you!
@Resa, for me, the big difference in this case is that the HP value of the construct does increase every time Netkin levels up, unlike other objects. Using the Repair rules would increase the DC of the check to repair it without increasing the amount of HP being repaired (which would now be a lower percentage of the constructs max hp). That is because Repair would use the level of the item, which in this case is equal to Netkin's level, to determine the DC. That would make it much harder to heal compared to any other minion.

@GM: I suggest that Resa sneak and scout ahead first and we follow after getting the all clear, but of course this is ultimately up to Resa.

I’m deferring to Cerrus and Ardoinel on how to handle Voz, since they made the successful intimidation checks. As a player, I think her journal will contain useful information and am wary of just letting a necromancer go, but I don’t want to undo the good rolls of my fellow players.

Remind me, GM, how long has Voz lived/worked in Breachill? Months? Years? A decade or more? Just want my next accusatory post to be accurate. :P
Ellaeaanda
It seems that Voz won’t surrender, so I think this ends with either a fight or Voz leaving peacefully. As a player I’m unsure, but my character would definitely favor a peaceful resolution, so I’ll follow her lead.
Ellaeaanda
That seems reasonable, but are we sure there's a tie? What outcome do Resa and Netkin favor? Let Voz go or combat?

According to my math you should be at 426xp now, which, for some reason, is short of what you are expected to have. How would you like to approach this? Should we use fast progression for a while? Should I increase the amount of xp given for a while? Should I throw in a couple of additional encounters? Should we switch to milestone progression?
Cerrus Falto
Having played through the end of book 1 before, I think it's fair to say that the upcoming fights can be challenging for an at-level party. Doubly so for a party a level behind.
My opinion would be to switch to milestone progression. I've found XP leveling to be a challenge for PbP games given the nature of that kind of game (time between encounters/XP; ability to post while away from character sheet; etc). Plus, it'd be one less task for the GM to track.
That said, I don't feel super strongly one way or the other.

I'm fine with any of the solutions you propose. That said, if the problem is that we're not at the xp we should have, the simplest fix is to just award us the difference (say for excellent roleplay from my fellow players).
(We're probably behind in xp because we didn't clear the slime room and skeletons from the citadel basement, so another option is to go back and do those first. There's also the alcove north of us with spider webs--I'm guessing there's some xp there too. However, I'm not the kind of player who feels the need to clear every single room.)

I agree with what the others are saying. And unlike Ellaeaanda, I *am* the kind of player who feels the need to clear every single room! :P

I think I'll go with Ellaeaanda's solution and give you some xp here and there for rp or any other thing.

Saaame!

Just to clarify, there's a way to Citadel Altaerin in the cave we're in, right? I was under the impression that's why the Citadel was important, so I was kind of confused that we came to this entrance that's apparently somewhere else.
As I recall:
1) From the Citadel proper (where we met Calmont et al) one cannot access the basement at all because the stairs collapsed.
2) One can access the first level of the basement in two ways: (i) through the trapdoor in the tavern (which leads to a tunnel into the crypt), and through a tunnel outdoors (which was our first entrance with the dazzling birds, and through which the bear got out). You cannot access the subbasement because the stairs are collapsed.
3) To access the subbasement (where the elf gates presumably are) we need to continue deeper into the cave system where we found Voz.

Oh dear. I hope everything turns out okay.

Sorry, it turns out I'll be without internet access Sunday (tomrrow) - Tuesday. Please bot me as needed during my absence.

Going to be leaving tomorrow on a family trip to Milwaukee for a few days. I'll return on Friday, so if a post is needed from me in the meantime, please feel free to bot me. See you then! :D

Hey all, thanks for the thoughtful words. My father-in-law is doing better, but still hospitalized. For now, I'm back!
Nice to hear it! :) I hope he gets better soon!

I'm traveling this weekend so mostly unavailable. Have a good weekend, all.
Enjoy your trip Cerrus!
For my part, just a reminder that I'll be traveling June 17 - July 13 without any computer access, so expect zero posts during this time period. Please npc Ellaeaanda as needed.

Sounds good. Ellaeaanda said we could bot. But I'm good with waiting for both as well.
Ardoinel, are you waiting for them to take their first turns before taking your second as well?

Yeah, I likely wouldn't wait until Ellaeaanda is back. Mainly just wanted to say that I'm checking in but wanted to give Resa a day or two to post. That said, looks like Resa hasn't posted in any account for ~2 weeks. Hope they are well.
