Wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) = 13 130 gp

4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1) = 16 15 (7 pt buy)
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 4) = 17 14 (5 pt buy)
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 4) = 14 13 (3 pt buy)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 1) = 14 13 (3 pt buy)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6) = 13 12 (2 pt buy)
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 3) = 7 6 (idk at least -4 pt buy but probably -6)

Rerolling the 12 because I want one low stat.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 1) = 14 13 (3 pt buy)

Then bumping the 6 up to a 7 to fit 15 point buy.

Ok probably going to submit a half-ork bloodrager. Details soonish.

Alright this is a bucket list AP for me so dotting. We'll see what I have ready, probably shouldn't submit another taciturn half-elf melee powerhouse but we'll see were I end up.

I think I'd actually go with skald/brawler (exemplar). Two types of bard songs, share rage powers and teamwork feats.

Alright dot.

I've run this to book 5 already and am currently running it and in book 2. I've played up to book 2 and would love to try to finish it.

With gestalt I'd probably do wizard/cleric and get all the spells. Maybe maybe soracle.

Only interested in Dark Sun and with a thri-kreen already, I'd probably do a half-giant gladiator.

People new to PbP tend to ghost after they realize its a time commitment measured in months for short modules and year for APs. Or that the people you choose to play with may ghost and the game can't recover from high player turn over.

That leads to a lot of people not bothering unless whomever they're scrutinizing has proven to last with a high post amount.

I personally hate this tendency because new people who only want to play tend not to be able to get into games. This was my problem starting out, which I only managed to break out of by taking over running an orphaned AP.

But yeah you'll find plenty of people willing to take a chance on a GM

Oh man Dark Sun... how would you handle psionics?

Dot

I'm going to drop out of consideration for this one. Cheers.

Dot, here's the stats

4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 3) = 15 13

4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 5) = 17 16
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 3

4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 2) = 11 12
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 4

4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1) = 16 15
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 2

4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 5) = 12 14
Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 5

4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1) = 7 6

Hello!

Dorian, you're responsible for teaching me pf2e.

Dang it, you're going to make me find my Roll20 login, lol. Honestly worth it for the concept.

Fair enough. I will remove myself from consideration because I really dislike roll20.
Can I ask why that is? I've never had a problem with it, but of course my viewpoint isn't the only one.

It's terrible on mobile vs google sheets. Sheets isn't the best either but workable with a GM who knows how to use static layers. Whereas I've never had a workable experience on mobile with roll20. Also, one more login syndrome, roll20 you need a login, sheets you can still edit via link.

Anyway I'd rather not distract from your recruitment further because people who like roll20 should use it.

Fair enough. I will remove myself from consideration because I really dislike roll20.

So you're saying I should submit a skald? ;)

Anyway seriously I'm considering a Transmuter.

Question for GM, what map solution are you planning on using?

Dot

Still watching... :)

FWiW I could never get into PF2e so if you go that route I'm out.

My Monster Manual disappeared in a move at some point. Very disappointed.

Damn, I'm really interested in this.

I'll dot as well. On the fence

I don't mean to sound negative but I have been looking at the recruitment thread for over a decade and recruiting a GM for a new or existing campaign never works.

That's false. I've recruited replacement GMs multiple times, been recruited, as a GM, and prompted a game as a player.

It's difficult but not impossible.

Man I've always wanted to try Scion, it just never got off the ground.

FWiW you only had 8.75% of killing me outright with that shot.

Leaning towards either a straight bloodrager right now, not sure about further details. I've got to paint some 40k figures tomorrow for a tournament on the 16th and I'm running an IRL game tonight so it'll be Monday before I can work out the details.

Sorry about that Tethys, I believe I followed the rules. Poor dice rolls in this fight for the party.

Lol, no problem at all. You never have to worry about killing my characters. You want me to roll a new one?

Violant wrote:
Yeah I didn't even know Roll20 was even usable on mobile, to be honest.

You can kinda get it to work in browser if you go into landscape mode, but you don't have nearly enough screen real estate to be truly functional.

I will need assistance with maps so I'm open to suggestions as I am not the most tech savvy, so will appreciate input.

I'm partial to Google Slides. The simplest way to use it is to copy the maps from the AP's PDF into the slide, resize it to fit, and off you go. This is my finished Strange Aeons map, as an example.

It's free, you can get more than enough utility out of it, and your players won't need to make a new login for it.

I don't like using roll20 because when I tried it had a rotten mobile experience, but other people swear by it. I usually do my PbP while I'm pretending to work so I'm often looking at the map on my phone.

Dotting in. Hey Dorian and Aldizog.

Thinking half-elf fighter/rogue.

@GM how are you handling maps? Slides, roll20, something else?

Oh hey SodiumTelluride haven't played with you since Bell Curve I think.

*waves*

Thanks for the invite Aldizog. I'll get catched up on the requirements later today and start brewing a character.

Thanks again!

Don't know if I have space for another game but dotting just in case

Dotting for kingmanker

I will echo FangDragon's suggestion on cutting content from APs. Roughly one third of APs are filler, that is content that is only included to provide PCs with exp and loot.

I took over a Strange Aeons game that lost their GM. It took 5 years to get through 5 and a half books. The players all posted promtly I posted every day, sometimes more. If the encounter wasn't interesting and didn't forward the plot it got cut. So many monster closets.

Free form play can be quite excellent. It doesn't work for PbP but I highly recommend Dread.

Looks like you'll have your choice of divine casters lol.

Dotting I plan on submitting a cannibal goblin cleric of Lamashtu. Don't worry I'll only threaten to eat party members.

Dot for interest but don't know if I can hit the deadline.

I started SA years ago as a player, but unfortunately it the GM had to step down pretty soon into it. I enjoyed where it was going, and would love to try again. I play a lot more 5e than PF1, so I wouldn't want to GM the SA game. But I'd happily run a 5e game in swap.

There's no reason SA needs to be on Golarion either. Just a handful of name swaps and it could be in Forgotten Realms or any other fairly standard fantasy setting.

Lol, I even heavily implied. It's fine I don't know if I could stand a bunch of people scrutinizing my games.

I'm still mulling it over. It depends on if my wife wants to do IRL gaming again.

I'll bump this cause I love the AP. I'm not sure I'm ready to start another run yet though.

Dot for interest

Are alternate racial traits fine? Looking at dual talent for humans.

Also how do you want me to handle enchanting a wizard's bonded object? Are any time limitations you want me to put on it for example?

Dotting for interest. FYI I am running this AP and we are in book 6. If that's an issue let me know. I will do my best not to bad meta game of couse and book three was 3 years ago so I have forgotten a lot in any case.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea or that I would prefer the full adventure. I would actually become not interested if that were the case. The cross-section of 5e pbp players who only want a optimization challenge in a format the suits story best is small.

Since Dorian is doing wizard, I'll try to work out a cleric.

@Angie you would probably get more interest if it was a full play through.

Dorian 'Grey' wrote:
This absolutely sounds like fun! The problem is I have never played 5e....

I've completely forgot how.

Dotting for interest.

Looks like the current players are an unchained monk, cleric of Sarenrae, and ninja. I did not go so far as to decipher any deviation from traditional builds. Arcane caster seems to be a mostly what they need, followed by a tank.

I'm on the fence about applying. I did in the original recruitment but one of the draws would be playing with Caine, whose leaving prompted this recruitment.

GM Ventiine wrote:
I'm rethinking crafting due to input.

Maybe a compromise, those classes that engage in crafting as a class feature can engage with those features. But anything beyond that is prohibited. So a bog standard wizard can make scrolls and enchant a bonded object but a cleric could not.

Ventiine I would be happy to play in whatever you wanted to run. Slight preference for Skull and Shackles.

For some reason if S&S I'm feeling a kobold witch, but I can work with core races if you prefer.

Why were there no 2nd Edition AP's listed?

Don\t want to derail the thread, but truth is I do not see that many recruitments for PF2e (granted I may be just not paying enough attention).

I did try PF2e once for a game that fizzled out, but... I found it too rocket-tag-y from the get go. That is the reason which turned me off to 2e in general, but perhaps I just need to give it another go. Maybe others out there are in the same boat, and that is why 2e is still an afterthought in some cases?

This is pretty much where I'm at. Except I like a more granular skill system and pf2e went the other way with that. Pf2e is meh for me.

That's not to yuck your yum Tarondor.

I want a classless high-fantasy system. I know they're out there but nothing that's so popular that I'm spoiled for choices of campaigns.
