Which Pathfinder AP do YOU want to play?

Recruitment

I am sure there are other DMs out there that would love to know what AP to run next. I figure I would create a Google Forms to get some answers. Which Pathfinder AP do YOU want to play next? Pick 2 options of the 24 available. I will share the info once a week for those who might want this info. Thanks!

Submitted, I had a hard time picking only 2. A lot of them seem good to me, others are meh.

So many AP's so little time, I put in my 2 coppers.

Submitted. I’m sure the ones I most want to play aren’t what everyone else wants to (Legacy of Fire, Mummy’s Mask). But hey, fun to vote.

Why were there no 2nd Edition AP's listed?

Submitted!

I only chose one, because I can't decide on another, but I submitted as well. A curious experiment, and useful to those of us considering running games.

I had more fun running Legacy of Fire than any other AP. We leaned in hard to the Sinbad/Ray Harryhausen aesthetic and had a blast.

Basically, any AP recruitment will generate some amount of interest. IMNSHO, the utility of these results for a GM isn't going to be in choosing which AP to run, but in setting the length of time for recruitment. As a GM, if I know that there are a lot of people who really want to play Legacy of Fire, e.g., I'll recruit over 7-10 days or so at most (at least if I want to keep the number of applicants down to where picking a party isn't a heavy lift). Conversely, if I know that Carrion Crown, e.g., isn't that popular, I'll allow more time for recruitment.

Hell’s Vengeance
War for the Crown

Really any of the others I’ve never had a chance to play in would be great too.

Scarab Sages

I've put my two cents in!

It forced me to pick two, but I want to do all three with Runelord references. Starting with Rise preferably, so that's my top pick.

Don\t want to derail the thread, but truth is I do not see that many recruitments for PF2e (granted I may be just not paying enough attention).

I did try PF2e once for a game that fizzled out, but... I found it too rocket-tag-y from the get go. That is the reason which turned me off to 2e in general, but perhaps I just need to give it another go. Maybe others out there are in the same boat, and that is why 2e is still an afterthought in some cases?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

I love 2e and have converted all my games but one to 2e. I look for 2e games to get into and I've converted some of my favorites to 2e.

I did just join a 1e game, but that was everything to do with the setting and nothing to do with the system. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed 1e, but find 2e to be better in the respects that matter to me. And I DEFINITELY think it has less rocket-tag than 1e.

I got to briefly play Reign of Winter when it first released but we barely made it into the first book before the GM decided he didn't like that all of the enemies were winter creatures. (Not sure what he was expecting). I long for the chance to revisit and complete it.

I also have been aching for War for the Crown. I love the Lion Blade PrC and it seems like the perfect fit for it.

This is pretty much where I'm at. Except I like a more granular skill system and pf2e went the other way with that. Pf2e is meh for me.

That's not to yuck your yum Tarondor.

I want a classless high-fantasy system. I know they're out there but nothing that's so popular that I'm spoiled for choices of campaigns.

Because that is not the information I am looking for...

Oh man, I really enjoyed running RoW. The traveling through the snow was rather tedious and honestly just hand waved it at times but a fun story. Also really a blast to end the AP with The Witchwar Legacy. Just do some minor tweaking and the story will fit right in.

The hardest part was trying to ultimately pick just two. If you do this with modules I imagine the choices will be harder ;)

Will the data tell you who voted for what or just which AP got the most love?

Oh man I don’t know if I would want to do that with every module, that’s a bit of an undertaking. I would have to allow like top 5 picks. And probably not include the modules that make up an AP.

The break down tells me what the votes were per submission and the total votes for each AP. I am partly surprised so far by the votes. I will share the results once a week

Silver Crusade

Submitted my two choices.

Mr. Clint - are you planning on starting up a nee game?

I am currently running a homebrew and a just started the Strange Aeons AP. If I were to start a new game it would not be for a bit. But I am interested knowing what people would like to play in if/when that time comes.

This is more of a P1e "Viewers Choice" voting poll for future DMs use.

The SA game I'm running will be coming to a close soon so I may take it into consideration.

Voted.
Ironfang and Giantslayer. Neither that unobtainable on the boards, I suppose, but I've never had the opportunity to play either, and they seem reminiscent of games that my high school gaming group used to play, back in the day.

Are you running the game here on the boards? I would love a link to the game if so. I am running Strange Aeons and am currently in act 1 of book 1. I always like to see what others did that might spark some creativity in what I am going for.

That being said, I am going to be posting the results on Tuesday, and possibly the Tuesday after that if there is a larger sway in the votes between week 1 and week 2.

Not knowing anything about either AP, why do you say that they are unobtainable on the boards?

Now just need to find a dm to run one on FGU

Lol, sure thing. Sadly I did not manage to give Dr. Ermengarde a cameo in that game. She was conceived of after it was plausible.

That game has been a wild ride with a lot of DM and player turn over.

JRoy wrote:

1) What is FGU?

2) I tried getting onto a few games and it just wasn't happening for whatever reason, so I decided to run a gam instead. It is obviously different than playing, but I am learning a lot about PBP that will help any future characters that I make and have an opportunity to play. Also, if you DM a game you will always get a party to play it. PCs don't always get selected.

Thanks for the link share, I will give it a look through!

The two I ahve the most interest in personally are Jade Regent and War for the Crown. I have characters ready to go for both, just can't get into them or they die out quickly if I do.

Fantasy Grounds Unity.

More specifically, they weren't available to me yet. LOL

One was offered (Giantslayer) when I had no free time available, and I haven't seen the other (Ironfang) offered since I've been here.

Sorry if I was unclear. :D

Day late and a dollar short, but all is well. Here are the results

I will arrange them in order from most votes to least votes, but will not share the number of votes. I am going to leave the poll up for one more week for those who want to vote.

1 (First) – Iron Fang Invasion
2 – Hell’s Rebels
3 – Iron Gods
4/5 (Tie) – Kingmaker, Strange Aeons
6-8 (Tie) – Skull & Shackles, Hell’s Vengeance, War for the Crown
9/10 (Tie) – Curse of the Crimson Throne, Wrath of the Righteous
11-13 (Tie) – Reign of Winter, Giantslayer, Tyrant’s Grasp
14-16 (Tie) – Rise of the Runelords, Ruins of Azlant, Return of the Runelords
17/18 (Tie) – Carrion Crown, Serpent’s Skull
19/20 (Tie) – Legacy of Fire, Mummy’s Mask
21-23 (Tie) – Council of Thieves, Jade Regent, Shattered Star
24 (Last) – Second Darkness

Huh. Interesting selection. I would not have guessed Ironing Invasion being so high, nor Jade Regent being so low.

That's an interesting top 5, I gotta say. Surprised by both Ironfang Invasion and Kingmaker, although I like seeing Strange Aeons getting some love.

I’m surprised by both Ironfang Invasion and Iron Gods. No surprise my top picks are near the bottom.

Dotting for interest. I voted for Ironfang Invasion and Kingmaker. I’ve been wanting to play a farmer/fisherman/autumnal forest type character for a while.

The way the numbers are shaking out is inconsistent with the typical response to an AP recruitment, and I think that's because a lot of us--while we may have a few particular favorites--will cheerfully sign up for a lot of other APs if it looks like there's a decent match with the GM's style. Maybe a more useful diagnostic, given that, would be to ask for least favorite APs...the ones (if any) that you have no interest in playing. For that poll, though, you'd need an explicit "none of them" option.

Is this all pbp?

I think this comes down to the amount of people who are interested in playing in a PBP game vs the amount of those who have the time/energy/desire to run one. Part of my mindset behind doing this is that maybe someone would see this and decide to run an AP.

Final Results
Well this will be my final update on the boards for this little experiment. This second week of voting saw some slight jumping in the ranks, but also cut out a clear cut "top 4" of APs people would love to play in.

91 Total Responses – Most votes to least votes

16 – Iron Fang Invasion
14 – Hell’s Rebels
12 – Iron Gods
11– Kingmaker
9 - Curse of the Crimson Throne, Strange Aeons, War for the Crown
8 – Skull & Shackles, Hell’s Vengeance
7 – Reign of Winter, Wrath of the Righteous
6 – Rise of the Runelords, Giantslayer, Tyrant’s Grasp
5 – Ruins of Azlant, Return of the Runelords
4 – Legacy of Fire, Carrion Crown, Jade Regent, Mummy’s Mask, Serpent’s Skull
2 – Council of Thieves, Shattered Star
1 – Second Darkness

Thanks to all who took part in this little experiment.

I'd love to, but I'm currently running two APs (RotRL and Giantslayer), an Emerald Spire game, and Dragon's Demand. The latter is the closest to wrapping up, and once I get through it I'm planning to run another AP.

Oh my, four games? That is impressive. I am currently running two, an AP and a homebrew game. They are a blast but I am not sure I would be adding a third one anytime soon.
