Dargaryen strikes out at the undead abomination as it begins to pull his life energy, but his dueling sword cannot penetrate the creature's profane defenses. Darg wails as his life essence is pulled from its earthly host. Gritting his teeth, Darg nods to Marlovaur and then continues his desperate assault on the nightmare beast. Spoiler:

Darg calms his mind, enters the crane combat style, and focuses on dodging oncoming attacks from the devourer and striking back when the undead over commits. Spoiler:
On his turn, Darg will enter the Crane Style as a swift action and will then fight defensively full round (+2 AC). He will use the following feats to increase his AC to 33 (21 touch): crane style (+1), crane wing (+4) and steel net (+2). He will use the following feats to adjust his attack penalties: fight defensively (-4), crane style (+2), steel net (+2), power attack (-2), furious focus (+2, 1st attack).
The calculations are in the spoiler. The Str bonus should also be divided by two, so decrement by 2 for Darg and 1 for Marlovaur. Darg = 1/2 * (4+11) = +7
Both Dargaryen and Marlovaur move to engage the nearest devourer. Spoiler: Both Dargaryen and Marlovaur attempt to double move through the the crowd towards devourer A. Darg may have to be backed up several squares depending on how much the tables hinder him.
Both Dargaryen and Marlovaur make it to the first tables, but then struggle to push the tables aside. Spoiler: Both Darg and Marlovar will opt for the strength checks.

Dargargyen hops one table and then another as he moves to engage the undead abominations. Marlovaur will also move into melee range.
Dargaryen's background skill points were already added - I will remove the feat and will add the feat for Daeroch. FWIW, per Hero Labs, Darg had the correct skill points - we must be using different configuration options.

Gathering his courage, Dargaryen draws his weapon and moves to engage the unearthly creatures. He hops over a table and then pushes through the panicked crowd. He attempts to direct the civilians to safety as he moves forward. Actions: Darg will double move to n11.
Blanching in horror at the sight of the abominations, Dargaryen unlimbers his aldori dueling sword and braces himself for combat.
Dargaryen nods his head in respect as King Kowalskiy speaks, "Sire, we are yours to command. Marlovaur and myself await your orders. Unless directed otherwise, we will remain with the third wave to protect the colonists." "You are wise to send scouts out for reconnaissance. I would remind you that many of us have experience operating in the frontier and can advise you of the land features and the likely dangers that we will encounter. But I'm sure you have consulted your own maps and are ready for what is to come." Dargaryen begins to mentally review the remaining preparations before the expedition begins tomorrow. "I will work with the Sir Pendrake and Captain Croaker to organize the logistics and defense of the settlers." He then bows deeply. "May Erastil guide us on this most noble of endeavors." Dargaryen will then introduce himself to Pendrake and Croaker and will enquire on what he can do to assist.
Dargaryen bows deeply before the king. "I, Dargaryen Blanc, son of Dravar and Isadriewen, being of sound mind and without reservation, swear fealty of mind, body, and soul to the King and People of Krádira. I swear to bear loyal and true service to the King and People of Krádira, and to honor, preserve, protect, and uphold the laws, justice, and mercy of and for the People of Krádira against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to bear true faith and allegience to the King and People of Krádira. I swear to faithfully execute the charges given to me, to protect and guide the people over whom I am granted rulership, guarding them in times of peril, nurturing them in times of peace, leading them in times of war, and governing them always with justice tempered by mercy, as the gods give me the wisdom to so do. This I swear to do until my final death, the world's end, or my lord release me."
Dargaryen monitors the duel and with some interest. With considerable unease, he is reminded of his own extensive training under various swordlord tutors. Years of such training and the frequent recrimination at his lack of subtlety and mastery of the proper Aldori technique give rise to intense feelings of inferiority and self-doubt. He is reminded of his father's last words before that fateful winter night so many years ago. My son, your willful misuse of the dueling blade is an embarrassment to our noble house. Your brutish method with that blade is little better than the basic training of a common Issian mercenary. I'm afraid you lack the discipline to ever be a true Aldori Swordlord and to ever properly represent this noble family. Dargaryen looks away from the duel with tears rising in his eyes. After regaining his composure, Dargaryen sighs and tries to remind himself that his own fusion of the Aldori fighting technique with conventional swordplay training has proven much more practical to the demands of professional soldiery. The swordlord technique has always placed too much emphasis on style and not enough on substance. Their delicate sword dance is fine for such duels, but it is of little utility on the battlefield. These fools would not last a day in the trenches of an armed conflict. Restov requires soldiers not duelists. He resigns himself to watch the events play out without getting directly involved. You have no place in court intrigue. You are a professional - wait for the kings orders. But he knows that fate has a way of embroiling those observers whom would watch neutrally from afar. Soon he senses, the fickle forces of fate will force him and his comrades to prove their mettle. He says a silent prayer to Erastil and awaits the coming mayhem with stoic resolve.
::Father László:: Darg nods at Lazlo, "There is room in this world for all faiths of goodness and light. I look forward to learning more about Lady Seramaydiel. I also look forward to working with the Requiem Wolves during the coming expedition. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you or your company." Dargaryen then sighs and looks around at the careening socialites. "I grow tired of this tedious formality. A soldier's place is in the field and not the ballroom. I am eager for us to finally begin the campaign to retake the Stolen Lands."
Dargaryen rouses himself from the torpor of the evening when Father Laszlo approaches. "Greetings Laszlo, I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I indeed am a disciple of Erastil, as if my companion, Marlovaur." He introduces the half elf at this side. "I'm afraid that the Steel Fists are bound by our mutual desire to leverage our martial expertise to assist King Kowalskiy in his noble expedition, and not by faith. I would like to think that I may sway the Steel Fists into following the tenets of Erastil, but in truth I have little control over my comrades. Never the less, I promise you that the Steel Fists will act with honor and valor on the battlefield. What organization do you represent Father?"
Dargaryen, accompanied by Marlovaur, discretely enters the Gala when his name is called. He nods with some embarrassment when the herald announces his modest title. "Captain Dargaryen Blanc, Officer of the Brevoy Frontier Guard." Darg will then walk to the king and will bow deeply. "My Lord, thank you for the opportunity to serve in your expedition. I look forward to leading the Steel Fists under your banner!" He then salutes and moves on to introduce himself and Marlovaur to the king's family and to the other dignitaries.
Dargaryen will spend the remainder of the evening getting to know both his fellow adventurers and the sycophants and hangers-on of the Steel Fists. To the sycophants he will gently try to caution them on the rigors ahead. "Comrades, you have joined us with the best of intentions, but I must warn you that we have a long difficult trip ahead of us. It is imperative that you have sufficient food and clothing to survive the rigors of winter on the tundra. I implore you to spend our remaining hours preparing yourselves with as much warm clothing and food as you can carry. I will loan you gold if necessary to buy supplies. I cannot countenance you suffering or dying in the wilderness due to lack of preparation. If you cannot or will not properly prepare yourselves, then I beg that you remain in Restov and spare your life."
::Bartek/Tai/Dargaryen/Theodric Valtrava/Steel Fist Inn:: Darg stands up as Theodric approaches."Sir, you have indeed found me." He offers to shake the man's hand and then introduces him to the the others at the table. "Will you join us for ale? We were just discussing our plans for the upcoming expedition. Congratulations, by the way, on your selection to join King Kowalskiy." He then orders another round of pitchers for the group. "Please, tell us of the Dashing Harvesters. I was just telling the others a bit of the Steel Fists. We have just recently formed the company and I fear we are not yet fully organized. The other Steel Fists and their assorted entourages will required significant training before they can be called a proper fighting force. But, Erastil willing, I hope to forge a company that will serve our liege with honor and dignity. I intend to train the Steel Fists to be a heavy front line fighting unit that can defeat our adversaries through superior tactics and martial prowess. But, as I said, it remains to be seen if my comrades have the discipline for such organized combat. There are also questions if they have the endurance to survive the rigors of the wilderness. Alas, we shall soon discover what sort of of mettle that the Steel Fists possess. Regardless, I pledge to help each of you in any way possible."
::Tai Reen/Dargaryen/Aramil:: Darg nods at Bartek. "Well met, Sir. I too serve in the name of Erastil. Yes indeed, I think it a very wise idea if our companies coordinate during the expedition." Dargaryen goes on to elaborate on the membership of the Steel Fists, their supplies and tactics.
::Tai / Dargaryen / Bartek / Aramil:: Darg smiles and laughs when Tai mentions Acaciano's ability. "Surely you jest! He really can turn into a tree? I thought that was only a myth. He sounds like an interesting fellow. I look forward to meeting him and the rest of your company at the gala. It is an honor to serve with such good stewards of nature. I'm sure the King will find your services invaluable in the Green Belt." Darg becomes more serious when Tai mentions his faith in Erastil. "Yes, both I and my friend, Marlovaur, are devoted followers of Old Deadeye. I'm afraid I can't say the same of the other Steel Fists. Alas, they may be better suited for worship of Cayden Cailen." He pauses and takes a drink from his ale while he reaffirms his own decision. "But, I joined the company for their martial ability, not their piousness. And, I can assure you that the Steel Fists will serve the King well on the battlefield."
::Tai Reen/Bartek Yaroslav:: Having no luck finding his fellow Steel Fists, Dargaryen ventures down to the the inn's tavern. They are probably getting drunk on my gold. How will they ever survive on the frozen taiga? I have my work cut out for me - Erastil save us! He sighs and orders a tall ale. Dargaryen is pleased to see a familiar half elf enter the tavern. "Greetings, Tai Reen. You have indeed found the home of the Shining Fists - such as it is. I'm afraid most of the company is ... indisposed at at the moment. My name is Dargaryen Blanc - I am honored to meet you, sir. Congratulations on the selection of the Voice of the Trees to accompany King Kowalskiy. I eagerly await the expedition. Please tell me more of the Voice of the Trees. I look forward to our companies working together in the service of Rostland." Upon seeing Bartek, Dargaryen will motion to the bartender. "Sir, please get that man a drink on me - and I'll have what he's drinking." He then brings Bartek into the conversation with Tai Reen. "We must fortify ourselves for the coming expedition, wouldn't you say? Where we're going spirits will be in short supply. I am Dargaryen Blanc, but my friends call me Darg. I was just discussing joint operations with my friend Tai Reen. Which company do you represent?"
In the late afternoon Dargaryen will send out Marlovaur for additional supplies. Darg will spend the time debriefing the other Steel Fists on his conversation with Zámoždom and will listen to what, if any, information they were able to glean from the other companies. Darg will also review the other member's preparations for the up coming expedition. "Roksana, Gregorz, Bartok, Ksawery - do you have sufficient provisions for the journey to the Green Belt? Do you and your followers have horses, rations and warm clothing for surviving in the arctic?" Marlovaur will augment the team's existing supplies with additional tents, bedrolls, blankets, and rations.
Darg wipes the sweat from his brow as he leaves the flat. He turns to Marlovaur and shakes his head. "That did not go as well as I had hoped, but perhaps we will have better luck at the Gala. We owe it to our king to establish the best possible working relationships with our fellow companies. Pride and petty squabbling will threaten the entire enterprise. I pray that we may somehow appeal to Zámoždom's better nature." He sighs and mentally reviews their supplies. "You and I have ample rations, tents, blankets and bedrolls for the journey, but I don't know if the other Steel Fists are prepared. We should procure extra provisions to cover them, if necessary. Let's use the time that we have left today to complete our preparations."
Darg smiles at Zámoždom while looking him in the eye. "My friend, even while drunk, the Steel Fists are more formidable than most men in Brevoy, so I would not be too worried about our state. And you will be most impressed at our ability to survive off the land without the aid of a caravan. Marlovaur and myself fashion ourselves competent woodsmen - we have been hardened by many a frozen night in the tundra while defending the frontier of our beloved fatherland. But yes, you are correct to be leery of the Greenbelt - it is no place for the uninitiated." Darg raises an eyebrow upon hearing Lisko's name mentioned. "I have heard of Kacper Lisko, but I have not had the honor to meet him yet. This will be a unique opportunity, indeed. Perhaps he can show me the finer points of using an aldori dueling sword? I must confess that I can't seem to get it right. But I digress Zámoždom Duchovný - we have wasted enough of your time. I look forward to seeing you again at the Gala. Please do not hesitate to call on me or my men if we may be of assistance in your preparations."
Darg nods his respect to Zámoždom Duchovný. "Greetings, I am Dargaryen Blanc of the Steel Fists." He gestures to the armored half-elf at his side. "And this is my lieutenant, Marlovaur. I apologize for the interruption, but we wanted to congratulate you on the selection of The Brilliant Sword School to accompany King Kowalskiy. The King is lucky to have such skilled swordsmen at his side. As it turns out, the Steel Fists have also been selected." He pauses and smiles. "This will be a most glorious expedition to the Stolen Lands, no doubt, but the green belt is full of danger and treachery. In battle, it is always reassuring to know that your flank is secure. I would offer that both our organizations would mutually benefit if we work together in the field. For now, I would simply like the opportunity to drink with you and your men at the Gala tomorrow night to learn more about the Brilliant Sword School. What say you, sir?"
Marlovaur respectfully joins the conversation and tries to put Duchovný at ease. "It would be an honor to drink with such renown swordsmen."
Yes, you had given the search and gather info probabilities in terms of d6s - I simply gave you the rolls to facilitate. I'll let you reconcile in the future. Dargaryen will provide each of the four NPCs 25 gp each for bribes to be used as they see fit - the gp will be deducted from Darg's profile. I understand the results will be unpredictable and will likely be negative. The bribe money is more intended to help establish the relationship/trust with the NPCs. I re-read all the info provided on the Steel Fists. It is Darg's nature to want to organize a group into a coherent team with established roles, hierarchy, etc. such that they operate together as a military-like unit. The NPCs may be unable or unwilling to do this and may end up being incompatible with Darg's world view - if so, that conflict will have to be resolved one way or the other :)
Block 1: Darg smiles and winks at Roksana, "Zonka Garess, I've always admired your passion for life. Yes, but of course we will properly celebrate Merrymead! I pledge to match you cup for cup in your choice of ales or spirits. I would also extend the challenge to you, comrades Bartok, Gregorz and Ksawery. Sirs, you will then find that my faith in Erastil fortifies me not only on the battlefield but in the bar room also!" He smiles at his fellow steel fists and slaps Gregorz on the back, "My friends, do not begrudge Marlovaur his eagerness to return to the field. He may be overly serious, but you will be thankful for his discipline and attention to detail when we make first contact with the enemy. I assure you that I've served with no better soldier or staff officer during my years in the army." Darg then takes on a more serious tone. "We must make what preparations that we can prior to Merrymead. I suggest that we better understand the companies that we will be operating with. For us to work effectively with them, we must establish relationships with their leadership. Let's spread out and try to meet with five other groups. Its best to start with our fellow martial groups. Marlovaur and I will seek out the leaders of The Brilliant Sword School. Roksana, why don't you talk to the Nighthammers. Gregorz, you have the Swords of the Legion. Bartok, please meet with the paladins of The Gilded Dawn. Ksawery, why don't you see if you can find one of the monks of the Auram Chain?" He hands enough gold to each to assure a successful bribe, if necessary. "This may help open some doors."
Darg nods upon hearing the proclamation. He then turns to Marlovaur and smiles. "The Steel Fists are in! Look's like we're returning to the frontier, my friend. This will be a grand expedition indeed. With the elite companies of Rostland accompanying King Kowalskiy, the stolen lands will surely be returned to the rule of law and virtue. This is a truly historic event and, I believe, the dawn of a new era for Rostland. I thank Erastil for the opportunity to serve our King in this noble endeavor - let us pray to him for strength in colonizing the trackless lands of the Green Belt." Darg then lowers his head and leads the others in prayer. "May Erastil empower his soldiers to smite those who would oppose us. May Old Deadeye protect our families during the long months of the coming expedition. May Erastil protect and guide King Kowalskiy on this noble mission and may he grant our liege everlasting glory in His eternal domain." dice:

Captain Dargaryen Blanc enters with the air of authority. He turns and nods at Marlovaur and the flanking soldiers. "Be on guard. We are in Rostland, but I suspect that not everyone here is who they seem. Large crowds like this are vulnerable to mayhem. Keep silent and be vigilant. If something happens, remain calm, follow my lead and remember your training - we fight as a team." Darg silently watches the crowd and waits for the evening's events to unfold.
