The agents recover their friends. Being thorough, they search the bodies for identifying items since they're shriveled beyond recognition. They find nothing of value on the bodies except for a key and a splendid bejeweled brooch in the shape of a dragonfly, they estimate it to be worth 10 gp. Searching the office they also find a bottle of rare Minkaian sake worth 10 gp. In the desk is a locked drawer where the the key from the body miraculously fits. Inside the drawer is 45 gp. The agents surmise this to be the petty cash fund that was offered to them as a reward.
The agents then escort the stonescales out of the building. They meet with Ama and explain the situation from the stonescalr perspective. With the capture of Rekarek and the explanation from Skerix about their innocent protest being commandeered, Ama and Skerix are able to come to mutually agreed upon terms. The project will resume construction on the following day.
Once the Edgewatch rescue the hostages, they can finally ask questions about the five specialist stonemasons and sculptors who went missing days ago. Unfortunately, the remaining laborers know fairly little about their missing comrades. The five all came over from Minkai together and didn’t associate much with the common laborers. On the night the specialists went missing, however, several people heard them complaining about the shabbiness of their assigned quarters and how they were going to talk to Jeremin Hoff about finding them better accommodations. No one has seen them since.
Ama is able to tell the agents that Jeremin Hoff is a powerful Absalomian labor broker who won the bid to provide local labor to the Dragonfly Pagoda project as well as to arrange building materials, temporary housing for the foreign workers, and other necessities. He’s notoriously corrupt—skimming building funds, bribing inspectors, and sourcing materials from sketchy vendors— but since that flexibility around the law also helps his projects get done on time and on budget, he never hurts for reputable clients. In addition, he was the person who initially introduced the pagoda architects to the Stonescales as a way of potentially expediting construction.
Skerix is happy to provide her perspective. She doesn’t know anything about the missing stonemasons, but she suspects that Hoff and his associates might (as far as she’s concerned, the shady businesspeople know everything going on in the upper city). Skerix also knows something even more important: the House of the Planes, Hoff's social club has a secret back door that Hoff used to bring her in for the initial meeting. She suggests to the Edgewatch agents that they sneak into the club to observe or question him incognito, and she draws them a map to the secret entrance.
The agents Unless they feel like role-playing out the encounter return to the precinct where they make their report to the desk Seargent. When they cover the part about their initial difficulties, the Seargent interrupts and says, "Clever of you to get captured to find the hostages and negotiate with the reasonable one. I'll make sure to pass on your ingenuity to the Lieutenant." and winks.
With the report taken the Seargent bids the agents to head home and get some rest then report back in the morning.
Healing can be done by experienced medics at the precinct. Also all purchases and sales can be done there too.
I guess thats about it... unless I'm forgetting something...

Paxel chuckles at Surge"s comments to Marveen. "I see this one has too many Pact foibles. Your enemies raised arms against you, and you crushed them. That is a good thing. Don't overthink it lad"
Paxel provides transportation back to Command Prime, which is uneventful. He happily sends the Starfinders on their way back to the Pact.
Upon arrival back on Absalom Station, Venture-Captain Naiaj immediately
calls for a full debriefing and listens intently to the account of the
Veskarium adventure. She thanks the Starfinders for not causing any intergalactic incidents, though one may have come close. She comments that while the semiclandestine mission didn’t necessarily improve Veskarium–Pact Worlds relations, she feels that everyone involved understands each other a little better now.
Naiaj takes the artifact from the Starfinders for further study and promises that if there proves to be any actionable information from the relic, the results should appear in a future issue of the Starfinder Chronicles.
I should have the chronicles completed over the next few days and I will provide a link to my Google drive where you can download and print them off, in the discussion tab. Thanks for playing.

Since at least some people are participating in their first Play-by-Post campaign, I thought I'd put a quick posting tutorial up.
Generally speaking, we prefer players to make their posts in the third person--i.e.,
Good Style writing:
Firstname Lastname leaps up from his chair and pulls his blaster out of its holster!
and not
Bad style writing:
I leap out of my chair and pull my blaster out of its holster!
When your character is speaking, please use bold text, and prefereably quotation marks. All caps is acceptable when yelling, although you can also make your text larger for the same effect, or smaller when whispering. Also its best to use italics for internal thought.
To make your text bold, use [ b ] without spaces, and use [ / b ] to stop using bold. Similarly, [ bigger ] [ / bigger ] will make your text larger. [ smaller ] [ / smaller ] will make smaller text as well.
For thoughts, italics ( [ i ] [ / i ]) are prefered. Used too frequently it can be a little much, but a well-placed bit of internal monologue can go miles for filling out character motivations, providing an ironic counterpoint to what the character is saying, etc.
Dice rolling is pretty easy; use [ dice= ] [/dice]. You can put anything after the equals sign, for example here I'll specify that this is a perception roll.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
In between the [ dice= ] and [ / dice] you put the actual dice you want to roll. Format should be XdY+Z, where x is the number of dice, y is the type of die, and z is the modifier applied to the roll. For example, if your 18 strength soldier hit with a falchion you'd roll
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
Extra dice can be rolled, by adding additional XdY. For example, here's a investigator adding inspiration to his attack roll.
Attack: 1d20 + 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (7) + (6) + 10 = 23
Note that you can roll dice that don't normally exist--1d2 for a 50/50 roll, 1d7 if you've cast mirror image and have 6 images up, etc.
You can also make multiple independent rolls with a single dice code by seperating them with a semi-colon. Here I'm going to roll an attack roll and damage roll at the same time.
Falchion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 242d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9

Cerebreiac scans through the passive security logs and fails to see anything out of the ordinary.
During the journey the passengers aboard the Maiden hear child-like giggling, sudden inexplicable screams, and footsteps down an otherwise empty corridor, and they occasionally have a nagging feeling that they’re being watched. The effects wane after only 2 days of travel through the Drift.
Once docked with the station, the Starfinders and Iffelby disembark. Iffelby flies ahead a short distance and changes form into a tiny winged red devil. The miniature fiend gives them a mocking salute, exclaiming “Thanks a lot, suckers!” The imp becomes invisible and flies away, disappearing into the crowds of Absalom Station.
The Starfinders report their findings to Venture-Captain Arvin and hand over the null-space chamber full of art objects. Arvin is shocked and intrigued by the Starfinders’ harrowing tales and wonders aloud if the spoils will be worth the potential repercussions of angering the mysterious ‘Duke’ and the Devil’s Talon. With a shake of his head, Arvin assures the Starfinders that they have no need to worry—although they should get cleaned up. He offers to take them for a complimentary trip to the spa to thoroughly wash away the lingering stench (and experience) of the infernal bog, followed by a fancy dinner.
And with that I would like to thank you all for playing. I really enjoyed this pbp format and am thinking of running something in the 3-6 tier range next. I'll keep you all informed when I do. I'll post a link to the chronicles in our messenger chat sometime this weekend.

We go not just for the sake of Fitch, we enter into the jaws of danger for all the Starfinders before us. For each and everyone who saw the stars and pondered what wonders exist in the distant horizon. We go forth not for us, but for the benefit of all sentients big and small, organic and inorganic. We shall not go quietly, but burst forth with the rapturous voices of thousands of explorers before us. These wonders exist not for the sake of one being, but for all of us to benefit from. Dr. Oz takes the other sonic pistol and two batteries.
Dr. Oz's normal exuberant attitude takes on a more somber tone.
We sailed the sea by oceans light,
Around the horn through restless night.
Our course and luck did make it right
To see things new in strange delight.
The seas were harsh and took their toll
With branded flesh and tortured soul
And when at last the sun sat low
It touched the earth with blood red glow.
The mighty wars have all been won.
Now empty winds slack sails undone.
The world is ours but mates care not
And search in vain for wars unfought.
Silver breakers plight our trough
To sails unfurled and winds aloft.
Spirits soar on breezes free
That bear the souls of sailors we.
Hear our prayer Oh Lord our God.
We lived to serve and wield thy rod.
Though wretches we and racked with flaws,
We are the ones who fought thy cause.
Now bleached white bones on foreign sands
Attest the toll in far off lands
For those who heard their country's call,
Brave sailors each, who came to fall.
Remember those who served on ships
And bid farewell on endless trips
Across the seas to Timbuktu
And lived and died, these chosen few.
We ask this, Lord, for those so true
And honor bound beneath skies blue
Who served and died for freedom's hand
To hold and cherish this, your land,
A sailor's death on ships of sleep
With few to know and none to weep
For faith so brave, a soul to keep
A silent grave in oceans deep.
And when the end has come at last
And unfilled shadows heaven casts,
Remember we who served and fell
And to the hosts of heaven tell,
Bring home my boys who loved so well.
