Rags, realizing reality isn't like the holo-vids he watched as a kid, takes a quick swipe at green before backing towards the door. Charging in seemed like a good idea at the time, but maybe the effects of that drug were more powerful than he thought.

Jax! Now that the fight is over, let me make something clear. I'm not a wolf. I am a Vlaka. I am not a mindless beast. Do not refer to me as a mindless beast or any other stereotypes you base on my physical appearance. I am sentient and am capable of complex thought. Thoughts complex enough to realize that if you are the only one laughing at your 'jokes' which are at the expense of others, that doesn't make you funny. It makes you a dick.
He then turns to Bepo.
Thanks for your concern Bepo. I could use a rest after all that.

"I guess they dont teach you how to take a joke in the force. That or they just hire the spineless ones who follow orders without complaint." Jax shrugs as he states back, not directly at Rags.
| Ragabash Lupo |
Rags spins back around and gets right in Jax's face.
Clearly you're too obtuse to see the truth. Your jokes aren't funny. They are needlessly cruel and you are the only one that laughs. You're so busy laughing at your own jokes to see how not funny they are. You aren't a comedian. You're just a jerk. Nobody else wants to tell you, but I dont know you enough to care about sparing your feelings. As for spineless, at least I have the spine to to talk to you to your face, instead of turning my back like a coward.

Jax looks to Bepo, "Just give me a minute Bepo. I have one final thing to say to Mr. Lupo here."
Turning his attention back to Lupo, "You know what Lupo, you're right. You're so right. I am a jerk and a big one at that. But you know what, I have a right to be like this. It's who I am. You may think I'm doing this out of spite or because I just dont care but to be honest, I do care. I care an awful freaking lot. I've lived a life of poverty, betrayal and pain and you dont just go through that life laughing. You learn to look out for yourself and only yourself. I'm also a terrible person, or at least used to be. I've done things I'm not proud of to survive and see another day."
Jax pauses...
"But then I was lucky enough to find a crew that respected me and saw me for who I was and what I could bring to the table. And even years after that I was even luckier to get stuck with this lot. My new crew if which I care an awful lot about. That's why I make jokes, that's why I laugh when no one else does. Its because I care about them. And I care to not be my old self. They bring out the best in me. And you know what?! So. Do. You. We've only just met you and you're already throwing yourself in with our lot and you've taken such crazy hits for them. So you may not see it, but I respect you."
Another short pause...
"But there is one thing I dont respect and that's indirectly calling my friends cowards. No one and I mean no one gets to call them that, especially when the little one (tiktik) is usually the first one to run head first into combat." Jax let's out a laugh.
"So for now at least, can we have a parley? Lepo?"
| Ragabash Lupo |
It wasn't the rest of this crew I was calling a coward. If you are going to make snide comments about my chosen profession, say it to my face. Take a look around you, I bet everyone here has a sob story for a childhood. But the rest of us aren't pushing everyone away. Did you ever think the reason you didn't have friends is because nobody wanted to be insulted constantly? I know people are inherently good, they just make poor choices. You've got it in you."
Rags accepts Jax's hand.

Jax looks down as Lupo shakes his hand.
