Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Chisora raises her whip to strike at her opponent again but is overcome by the horrendous wailing and drops it, clutching her hands to her ears in pain.

Bad news is she drops her Scorpion Whip and her AC drops to 12, which isn't good considering she's only on 7 hps. :(

Stunned::
A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Happy that the others can get upstairs to attack the growing number of enemies, but still wanting to finish off the guards down on the ground level before she heads up.

Attack Guard with Scorpion Whip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

There are no stairs to the balcony. The grey area represents the darkness effect. It is on the ground level.

Thanks! :)

Seeing the arrow fly past her, Chisora decides to concentrate on the ground problem while the others deal with those on the balcony. She races forward to attack the guard that fired at her, although her aim is somewhat off.

Move to AI13 and attack with reach
Attack Guard with Scorpion Whip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

My bad, but I can't remember if you said there were stairs in here leading up to the balcony? Also. The grey area where Gz and G are situated, is that raised as well, or is that on ground level with us?

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Sorry guys for my lack of posting. It's taken me longer than I thought to get caught up with everything now my internet is finally back, but I'm back now.

Chisora checks to make sure that Friar Feres is safely protected by Valgrim before racing forward to attack the Zombie before her.

Move forward to AE13 and Whip the Zombie.
Attack Reptilian Zombie with Scorpion Whip (inspire courage): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
Confirm Critical Hit: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 18
Damage: 2d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 + 1 = 7

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Just so you guys know, I am going to be without reliable internet access for the next two weeks. I'll still be posting, but they may be more sporadic than usual, so plesae feel free to DMPC Chisora to move things along if I haven't checked in. Sorry.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora slashes her whip at the new warrior as he moves up to stand between her and Valgrim.

Attack Metallic Warrior with Scorpion Whip (flanking, bless, inspire courage): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora smiles grimly as Valgrim brings down their opponent. She takes the chance to move along the wall and come in behind the warrior he is now engaged with, her whip snaking out to attack him.

Move to Q15, then finish in R16
Attack Metallic Warrior with Scorpion Whip (Flanking, Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora and Valgrim work together to try and bring down the first metallic warrior through the door quickly. She lashes out with her Scorpion Whip at the enemy before her.

Flank Attack Metallic Warrior: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Sneak Attack Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora calls from behind after hearing the approaching enemies. "We're about to have company everyone. I say we all head into the room and rally around the door way so we can retreat if need be but we're not all cramped in this hallway." She moves forward and stands by the doorway, slinging her bow over her back and unrolling her whip.

ie: arrange ourselves in a semi-circle around the doorway.
She moves forward to position herself in Q14 and puts away her Longbow, drawing her Scorpion Whip.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora smiles at the assistance from the Friar as she nocks another arrow and lets fly at the man as he tries in vain to escape.

Attack Warrior with Longbow (guidance): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora races forward to support Bubluka, drawing her bow as she goes. Nocking an arrow, she aims past the Bard and lets fly at the man standing in front of the doorway.

Move to J12
Attack Warrior with Longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora introduces Rhiannon to the rest of the party, and Friar Feres nods as he recognises the young woman. Bubba manages to talk one of the stablehands at the Emporium into stabling Thunderhead with the horses from another group for free and promises the Cavalier to take good care of the fine steed.
They make thier way with the others into the mine, hiding their gear together and picking it up again once they are assembled at the entrance to the sealed shaft.
I'll take the rear with and protect the Friar. Valgrim, Rhiannon is good in a fight so she should probably go up front with you." She nods to Rhiannon to lea don with the Dwarf as she takes up her regular position as rear protection.
Looking over the elevator with the others, she shrugs and then agrees with Bubba's idea about getting the miners to assist them.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora is sitting by herself agin, waiting for Valgrim to complete his reconnaissance when out of the window, she spies the armoured figure of Rhiannon riding towards the tavern. Wondering what her friend could be doing in town, she gets up and goes outside to hail her over, a rare smile on her face.
"Ho Rhiannon, what brings you to this place," she calls out, waving to the Cavalier. Once she stops and dismounts, Chisora greets the other woman with a sisterly hug, an uncommon show of affection from her noramlly dour bearing. "I must confess that after leaving Warwick I thought to never see you again. Do you have time for a meal? Friar Feres is here, I believe you met him once or twice back when he was helping me get back on my feet. He and I have actually joined up with some other adventurers and are preparing an assault on a secret Cultist Shrine in the mines. If you are in town for a while, perhaps you would care to join us. Surely your sword will be in need of some swinging after your journey."

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora nods at Friar Feres words. "I most certainly agree that once we bring down this Ebon triad, we work towards dealing with Smenk. People like him and the ones that run Dourstone arm pathetic. they make thir money off the backs of decent folk and don't give those folk what they deserve. It's not much better than slavery in my opinion. I'd like nothing more than to see the mine in the hands of someone who'll appreciate his workers and pay them what they're worth."

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora might be able to get a way with it since she is wearing Studded Leather. Her Hanbo is just a short pole, so that's not a worry, and her Scorpion Whip should fit into her Adventurer's Sash. Her Longbow however would definately be a major problem.

"Well I'm not sure whether it would be better to try and get jobs, or simply pay someone to let us in. I can't see the guards at a place like that being particularly picky about who they let in if we paid them enough, especially knowing how bad the pay there actually is."

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora's eyes narrow at the insinustion that they killed Filge and were nothing but common thugs, especially considering the company Smenk appears to keep. Her face gets redder as he continues and as he finishes she opens her mouth to give the arrogant man a piece of her mind, but stops short as Friar Feres lays a calming hand on her arm. He obviously saw her anger rising and worked quickly to put a stop to any kind of confrontation at this time. She closes her mouth and loks sheepishly at the priest, but continues to glare at Smenk while waiting for somone with a little more tact to do their conversing.

Yeah, sorry about that Flash. I meant to wait, but then the temptation to finish the Whispering Cairn was too great. This game gets a little crazy at times, so let me know if it's not acceptable. Good to know that you're still with us, and I'm happy to have Mark too, since he's doing great in my other PBP. He's even been a good sport about me trying to assassinate his character first thing. ;)

No that's fine, as long as you guys are happy I'm happy. I don't mind you or one of the others taking over Chisora to speed things up. I know it can be a little tough being in a different time zone, as something happens and I'm behind you since I'm asleep then at work when you guys are up at night. Obviouly I was sad to miss the fun, but I fully understand the need to keep a PbP moving, especially when it picks up a little momentum like it did the other day. :)

While Chisora would help out in a fight with the nasties at the Feral Dog, the only reason I'd want to side track there is if we're gonna be waiting on Mark for a while. I'd rather move on to the next Adventure (I honestly can't believe we finished that one so quickly!) :)

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Holy Crap!!! Uber busy weekend with the Family, so I missed Posting and then you guys went absolutely nuts today (to the tune of 70 something Posts) while I was at work. Sorry to have missed it all. :(
Thanks for running Chisora Lucendar. Sorry to see Urg go, but Mark is an Awesome player (I'm in 2 other PbPs with him atm), so I'm really looking forward to him joining us. :)

Chisora follows the others, going where she's needed and backing up when she's asked. Once the battle is over, she once more drops back and keeps a watch from the shadows, making sure to look out for the everyone while they're busy examining and working things out since she know that kind of thing isn't her forte.
Once everyone's happy, they head back to town and she mostly keeps to herself during the down time. She's not unfriendly of course and she happilt hangs out with them all, but she also like her alone time as well. She's ready to get back out there though once they all get themselves together. Now that she's had her taste of the adventuring life, she want s to see what more it has to offer and although she won't admit it out loud, she's come to respect the abilities of everyone. Plus Friar Feres is sticking around and she can't leave him to look out for himself now can she...

As an aside, if anyone is squeamish about injecting themselves with Potions (except Vug that is, who I know would do it in a heartbeat), Chisora isn't. She's suffered much more pain than that in her life and injecting them isn't a big deal for her.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Wary after seeing the door open, Chisora moves to the shadows at the side of the room and draws her bow, making ready in case anything comes out of it to greet them.

Stealth Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Phew, finally caught up. Sorry for my tardiness. I won't lay claim to any of the loot from that mission, since other had to play my part for me. :)
I only just got my .pdf of the APG yesterday and haven't had a chance to look at it. If it's alright with you I might leave the bulk of the changeover until I get my Dead Tree, I just find it easier that way.

Chisora hangs around in the background at Allustan's, letting the others do the talking and keeping a watchful eye out.
Once they're done, she'll head back with the others to their lodgings and enjoy a hot meal while everyone discusses how they're going to proceed tomorrow she agrees with laying the bones to rest, then heading back to the Whispering Cairn to see what's behind that door.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora wrinkles her nose at the thought of feeding the Owlbear an arm, but doesn't stop the Half-Orc.
"Should we mayhap search the farmstead first at least for something to take back to the Ghost so that he can see that we were here but have other things to see to in case we need to tell him the story of his missing family?"

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora looks down at the baby Owlbear and then looks around to see if she can spot any food lying around to feed it.

Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Seeing its desperate raging, Chisora flicks her whip back around at the Owlbear in hopes to finish it off quickly but once more the beast's erratic movement prevent her from scoring a hit.

Attack Owlbear with Scorpion Whip (Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Sorry for the delay guys, Tuesdays (my time) are a bit of a stretch for me. I start at 6am and work 'til 4.30pm, 30 minutes home, then get the kids ready for dinner/bath/bed. Then if I'm lucky I get to hang with the wife for an hour before I have to go to bed to start work at 4am on Wednesday.
It seems a lot of combats start on Monday Night/Tuesday Morning... lol :)

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Chisora lashes out with her whip at the enraged Owlbear, hoping to distract it long enough to let the others move in and finish it off. Unfortunately its wild movements cause the whip to hiss harmlessly past its head.

Attack Owlbear with Scorpion Whip (Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora looks towards the famstead an grimaces. "If only four came out then I definaitely agree we should examine the house."
She draws her whip and starts to walk towards it, not waiting to see if the others follow, but expecting at least Valgrim to be not far behind.

No, Alastor is still bound to the place of his death. He won't open the door for you until you buried his bones with his family - something that just got a little more complicated.

Ahhh... gotcha, cool thanks. :)

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Did we get Alstor to open the door for us before we took him back to bury his bones, or will he be returning with us to do it after?
Chisora eyes the graves carefully. "Now why would anyone come here to dig up the graves of some farmers? Simple gravediggers, or something more sinsiter tied into the remains of the boy perhaps?"

If Alastor is still with us.

"Boy, do you know why someone would desecrate you family's graves like this?"

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

I'm happy to go first and check for Traps, although the way I've been rolling lately we'll probably all fall into a Spiked Pit Trap. ;)

Chisora once more casts light onto her Hanbo and climbs through the stone mouth, making sure to sweep for Traps as she goes.
Perception Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

EDIT:Ninja'd by the GM... ;)
Leaving the beam for the moment, Chisora moves towards the walls to examine the honeycomb pattern, alert for anything out of the ordinary.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora immediately turns towards the sound and unfurls her Whip, mindful of the beetles pouring out of the last tunnel they opened..

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

After Valgrim finishes underwater, Chisora asks, "so are we going to try and get past that orange mould back down th other passage, or are we just going to try the other lanterns we've yet to attempt?"

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora sees the smaller beetles scatter and burn as her Whip snakes out towards the larger one.

Attack Large Beetle with Scorpion Whip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Chisora looks at the beetles and decides to bring out her Whip. That was at least she's away from the mould and she can hopefully sweep quite a few beetles out of the way with a flick of her wrist.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

"Well I'd hate to think we left anything useful behind down there," Chisora says as she prepares her gear for the return trip..

Vug, you can have Chisora's Tools, as she plans to buy Masterwork ones with her share of the Phat Lootz. :)

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora stays at the table, watching carefully while Valgrim and Vug approach the other adventurers. She sips on her wine as she scans the room to see if anyone else is interested in the exchange.
Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

That's a good idea about Chisora using the Goggles Valgrim, so unless Vug really wants them I'll grab them. :)

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora casts her healing spells on anyone in need when they rturn to town.
Just say if you need and which one you're using. :)
Casts cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Once back in Wolfstone, she helps Vug in her endeavours by casting detect magic on the items they found.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora is Levelled. :)
Level 2 Hit Points: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora remains looking behind the party, but spares a glance or two at the water. "How long do you think they can stay down there?" she asks over her shoulder at Vug and Friar Feres.

"Yeah it doesn't look too friendly does it?" Chisora comments. She takes one last look around before following the others back out, the spring returning to her stride as she steps across the threshold back into the corridor.

While Valgrim checks out the stairs, she keeps a watch on the beetles just in case the finish their meal and decide they want dessert.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Jeez only just...

A sudden wave of tiredness rushes over Chisora as she moves forward lethargically to engage the beetle with the others.

Move to K10 or 11, whichever isn't occupied by one of the others who go before me
Attack Drowsy Beetle with Hanbo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
WTF... 5, 4 and 6. I hate freakin' dice rollers. :(

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora shrugs. "As good as any, especially if there's more enemies no matter which way we go."
She raises her Hanbo above her head and waits for the others to move off before once more bringing up the rear.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora stops with the others at the intersection. "Which way now?" she asks.

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Chisora glances down towards the hole then back at Friar Feres. "We can rest fro a minute, but I think we should press on and explore as much as we can before we're forced to rest due to expended resources."

Female Human (Alryan) Inquisitor of Calistria 1 Rogue 1

Tom I don't mind if you DMPC Chisora to speed up Combat. It seems that Combat always likes to start when I'm asleep or at work (stoopid Timezones) and with her high Initiative she's likely to go early a lot. You can always do her first attack and then I can chime in with her followups. :)

Chisora evades the Eyeball Spider with ease and swings her Hanbo in towards the eye, thinking to blind the creature.

Attack Eyeball Spider with Hanbo: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

I think there should be a way to enhance a casters spell attack rolls and save DC’s similar to weapon runes. Martial have runes to improve their chances to hit and damage…it stands to reason casters should have the same.
It is frustrating as a caster to be fighting a BIg Bad boss who is 2 to 3 ECL above you and you need a 18 or 19 just to hit them and they always save or crit save vs your spells….yet the Martial’s only need a 13 or 14 to hit the same AC

I truly miss my friend Jack. I have known Jack for 35+ years and have played Advanced D&D, 2nd edition, 3.0, 3.5, Traveller, Star Wars, Champions and in fact I introduced him to Pathfinder 1st Edition when I bought it and raved to him much of an improvement it was over 3.5. I have slung numerous dice in his presence as well cards. I even lived with him for 2 years until he met his lovely wife Deb.
He was closer than a brother and someone to spend hours with in gamerspeak. He is leaving a big hole in so many lives.
Jack I know that gaming in Valhalla means you can only play Barbarians and drink mead but please keep the table going until we get there.

Maybe I'm just a cranky old fart but as much as I am for DM'ing to give back to the community the rewards are sometime just too little.

Lets see....gonna run scenario X-00...shell out 3.99 to Paizo for the scenario.

Oh look...who's the dumba$$ that drew the map in all diagonal squares on a 10' square grid...doesn't anybody edit this stuff?

All right...get to the site...wait an extra 30 minutes past start time because people are invariably late.

Order food from site...shell out 15.00, buy a splat book or box of mini's for 20.00...got to support the store right?

Start game...and listen to closet thespian blather on about what color socks their PC is wearing..and then what color they change to every 4 minutes...not kidding here.

Give one of your just purchased mini's to brand mew player because they think its cool and you'll do whatever it takes to keep them interested.

Have Gunslinger Alchemist with with 3rd arm growing out of their forehead just trivialize the scenario combats.

Now have the to give the blithering thespian a ride home after the game is over because he wasted so much time he missed his bus and doesn't have 2 nickels to rub together because I'm a nice...then listen to his next character concept of a singing bard where he'll write his own songs and sing them at the table.

Now do all this...and get a GM chronicle to apply to a character that you'll probably never play as you are running out of scenarios.

Drogan I have yet to hear any single reason why allowing replays is bad.

You trot out LFR...which I agree starting a character at any level is wrong...but LFR died mainly because of the advent of MMORG's such as WoW...this sucked people away and it is only in the last few years that people are coming back. This is not because a few old Grognards were chasing people away.

You also stated that not once you have had to turn someone away from a SCHEDULED game...how many people have not attended because what was offered had already been played?...you cannot quantify that.

I usually play Thursday nights...this coming Thursday I will not attend because I have played all of the scheduled games...are the tables full...no. I will not attend therefore the store loses out on the $20.00 I usually spend on product as well as the $15.00 or so on food (they have a kitchen)...so any way you slice it not allowing replays is losing business.

Pontificate all you want but you are wrong in this respect. I applaud you for running a store and hosting PFS but I will never agree that anything that drives people away...even for a session or two is a good thing.

Well from a business model not allowing replays is just stupid.

2. Some people don't get to ply with a regular group due to their work schedules.

3. PFS is available...Great!!

4. Go to store...play PFS...spend money on PF product. Want to play an Angelkin Inquisitor with alternate traits...that's 3 books beyong the Core book that you have to buy to be legal.

5. I buy product at the store to support the store, I know since PF came out I have spent over $3000.00 on Paizo product or PFS online materials. If I have no reason to go to the store I would buy less and buy online...and that hurts the actual stores big time. Not really sure if Paizo cares if their product is purchased at a store or online but I;m positive the storeowners do.

6. Now I've played a lot and am starting to run out of scenarios...hmm can GM some but my work schedule doesn't allow me much time off. I certainly cannot work on PFS stuff during work because not paying attention can get me or others killed or maimed...so no PFS prep at work.

7. Getting to the point of not being allowed to play as much as I would like due to running out of scenarios. Paizo prints a new book...I would certainly like to buy it and apply whatever I find interesting in it to a new PFS character...but why bother? probably won't be able to play them anyway.

Bottom line is don't drive your customers away from their preferred game and away from the stores.
If you don't personally agree with replays...fine...don't replay scenarios for yourself but allow others to do so if so inclined.
This is economics 101...give the customers what they want especially since it costs NOTHING...ZIP...NADDA but will drive sales and help keep stores open.

I'm seeing a recurring problem in many of the events in our area...trying to get a scenario to play that everyone at the table has not already played.
This is a good thing in that it means that we have had a lot of playing going on but it is starting to hamper peoples ability to participate because of the limited number of scenarios that are available vs. what people have played.
I would hate to see people opt out of playing just because of this issue for many reasons.

* People buy stuff when they play and it is good for the Store owners who host as well as Paizo itself
* If people don't play on a regular basis they may lose interest and opt out of the game completely
* people like playing varied characters...if someone wants to play several characters it can be extremely difficult to get all of the to high level due to lack of scenario availability

I propose that Paizo make and legal scenario that is not either retired or of the current year replayable as long as it is still only once per character.

People...it really comes down to local law ordinances. Here in Minnesota a person can legally concealed carry with a permit...and businesses have the right to post no firearm allowed signs which the Concealed Carry bearer must abide by. 99% of the time you will not even know if someone has a firearm and unless the owner has posted a no firearms notice it is their right to do so. Now if I saw someone with a firearm that was poorly concealed I would as an aside comment to them ask that they do a better job concealing it....just to keep people from overreacting...but that's just me. I own several firearms, avid shooter and reloader, ex military...guns are just a tool, people are dangerous...hell even several dozen 4 siders scattered on the floor is dangerous if you are barefooted.

Martials need better Will saves period. Options?:
1 - 3.5's Steadfast Determination feat where you use your Con Bonus and not Wisdom for Will Saves...required Endurance as a prerequite I believe...going from memory here
2 - Maybe a feat chain that gives you Spell resistance...Lesser and Greater Spell resistance, Level +5 or +10 SR
3 - Maybe iron Will Scales with level?...+2, then +4 at level 10
4- Feats that allow use of 1st level spells a number of times per day, have a BAB prereq, example BAB +6 one 1st 3/Day, BAB 11 - one 2nd 3/Day, BAB 16 one 3rd 3/day

just my 2 cents

Its not the guns themselves its the damn Touch AC mechanic that actually makes it easier to hit the BBEG at higher levels.
At level 1 the gunslinger needs to hit the kobolds 13 or 14 Touch AC
At level 17 his needs to hit the Dragons 6 Touch AC whiel everyone else in the party needs to hit its 37 AC or overcome its 25 Spell resistance...hardly seems fair does it?
This guarantees that the gunslinger will ALWAYS hit unless they misfire and there are so many ways to mitigate that that it is really only a slight problem..so the lose an attack sometimes...the fighter and archer are missing on the iterative attacks because they have to hit its real AC.
Touch AC mechanic was put into the game so the Wizards / Sorcerors etc could hit with Ray attacks...with little BAB and most likely no Precise Shot, PBS it evened out fairly well...not so with the gunslinger

I really like the changes...dam good job. One thing I'm still wondering about though....Why does Gorum have the Earth Blessing and not Torag?

Well then:
1 - Full BAB
2 - D10 Hit Die
3 - Eliminate Channeling altogether
4 - Warpriest levels count as Fighter for feats
5 - Change Bonus 1st level feat to 2nd to eliminate 1 level dips

Here's what I think
1. Have Warpriest levels count as BAB levels for qualifying for feats
2. Have Warpriest Levels count as Fighetr levels for Feat qualification
3. Change to D10 for HP
3. Eliminate channeling

this makes you a more martially inclined holy warrior with better staying power than Cleric/Inquisitor/Oracle but still not quite as good as a pure melee non spellcaster

I feel your pain...I absolutely hate the gunslinger class...the touch AC mechanic is broken and it just gets worse as you go up in level. Worse idea ever from Paizo.
If I run a game I try not to obviously target the gunslinger but lets face it any intelligent monster knows that the gunslinger is the biggest threat...Hold person a Coup de Grace at every opportunity

The characters have six seconds...what annoys me is spellcasters who will count out squares to get the uber optimized area of effect...you are in Combat...make a snap decision where the spell goes and live with the results.
As a GM I prefer not to allow too much time wasted on placing area of effect spells...tell them to pick a spot by their eyeball in 6 seconds and then place the template...allows fog of war effects

In PFS Play what should be done with obviously broken classes/builds should be:

GM: "hello everyone welcome to todays game...what are we playing today?"
Player 1: "My cleric of Pharasma"
Player 2: "Sorceror with Dragon Bloodline"
Player 3: "My Lore Warden Fighter"
Player 4: "My Tiefling Rogure/Wizard"
Player 6: "My Musket Master Gunslinger/Alchemist with the 3rd Arm Mutagen, Rapid Reload, and One level in Craft Alchemy for cheap ammo!!"
GM: "Sigh....."
GM: "player 6...here is your signed Chronicle Sheet...please leave my table now so the rest of the players can play the game and have fun"

At least nobody said:
"Sorry about your wolf...mind if I skin it and make a really cool cape?"

Actually the best way to deal with obvious broken builds that you know will break the game is to just do the following:

GM: "This is obviously broken and will break the game and none of the other players will have fun."

Player: "Dude..my 6 armed gunslinger with a gatling gun and an war Bison ids a Legal build I I have the right to play him"

GM: "I'm asking you politely to play something else"

Player: "This is what I want to play"

GM: Signs chronicle sheet and hands it to player "Congratulations you have soloed the mission...now go away so the rest of us can play the game and have fun"

What sticks in my craw was once I was penalized as a Paladin for executing a captured bandit.
Now these bandits were murderers without a doubt and the surrendered bandit admitted to murdering wayfarers. The group was on a mission that could not be delayed.
My paladin basically took the position that in this case he could act as a Officer of the law and executed the prisoner by hanging the gave them a decent burial...yet was still penalized and had to atone for killing a surrendered prisoner.
I would say that a Paladin should have the power of Low and High Justice as needed if there are no local Law Dogs around...just my 2 cents.

Speaking of Obscure fantasy novels:

The C.J Cherryth Morgaine Novels - Fires of Azeroth, Well of Shiun, Gate of Ivrel and Exiles Gate...top notch
And who can forget Karl Edward Wagners Kane novels and Short stories...now there was a hard core badass...makes Darth Vader look like a Boy Scout Troop Leader

It's a matter of play style....you can super duper dps and kill things fast before they kill you...or you can hold the line, take a lot less damage and wear them down. Both styles are effective.
Combat Expertise gives you the option of doing both..choosing whatever you need depending on the encounter.
A fighter with a decent strength and Weapons training has Attack Bonuses to burn...with power attack he can bltzkrieg the monster down...assuming he can hit. A monster usiing Combat expertise and the PC using power attack means that the main attack has a much less chance to hit and the iterives will most likely miss.
I like the Armor Master Fighter Archtype...good BAB, great Defense, great DR...take Both Shield Focus Feats and wear the critter down...if you just need to block him while your party blast them to oblivion...use CE to mitigate some of the attacks on you...at least the monsters iteratives. This also means that at the end of the fight you require less healing so that saves on the party's resources as well.
Its a matter of player play style... and so what if it rerquires a 13 Int...extra skill points and languages are always good.

A handy haversack is a great item for a Ranger...since you are ranged attacking and shouldn't get too involved in melee maybe hold off on the Mithril shirt and go that route
