Chara giggled. "You're all silly. Less talking! More cookie making!" she decreed, grabbing a scoop from Raelle and digging into the batter, then holding it up for Ignace to level off for her. She already knew better than to argue with Raelle about cookie baking directions.

Chara handed him a measuring cup and slid the flour container towards him. "Don't worry," she said cheerfully. "It's not hard. Except cracking the eggs. That's pretty hard. And if you get the ratios off, watch out. Then you have to listen to a lecture from Raelle because you messed up the recipe equation."

"You've never made cookies?!" Chara demands, shocked, as she returns to the kitchen with Ignace in tow. "Well, you need to learn then."

He knows that he's got her attention when she starts suggesting changes to the story, making it more and more ridiculous as it goes. (In Chara's version the pirates need to be rescued from the princess and her knights with help from the scary monsters.)

Raelle del Sol wrote: "Yes, I know all of my stories are boring and you've heard them all before," Raelle said, exasperated. "Maybe if you ask him nicely, Ardiente can tell you a story. After he's had some breakfast." She smiled up at Ardiente. "Hey. There's pancakes on the counter. None of us were very hungry this morning. Please help yourself." Chara looked up with big, tearful eyes. "And then will you tell me a story? Please?" she asked pathetically.

Grim Jr. wrote: "what? positive stuff hurts? was that what he was using earlier?" "Yep," Chara said cheerfully before turning back to the door. "Never mind, Miss Trurow. We fixed the oopsie."

Gareth Myrrdin wrote: "I don't think he heard you. He... just walked in." Gareth explains slowly as he sits up and checks out his healed injuries. "That was really fast though!" "Yay! You look lots better!" she said happily before running to the door and yelling, "Miss Trurow! Miss Trurow, we had an oopsie! Well, sort of an oopsie. It was good for Gareth and bad for Grim. He needs help now."

"It's way better when friends come and wait with you," Chara said sagely, the expert on recovering from injuries. "So what happened?" she asked curiously, hopping onto a chair beside the bed. "It made a majorly awesome explosion, but I bet it hurt lots," she finished quickly, trying to temper her enthusiasm with sympathy.

Vis Niyambi wrote:
"Ooh, neat! It's a dolly!" she said, examining it happily. Just then Nurse Trurow came back. "Gareth said that he would be happy to have you two come to his room and wait with him while he finishes healing." "I bet he's bored," Chara said solemnly, all too familiar with the pain of waiting for healing magic. "Yes, well, let's not be so entertaining that he gets hurt again, alright?" "Of course we won't," Chara said indignantly, before trotting off after Nurse Trurow, trusting that Vis will follow. "Hi, Gareth," she chirped once they got to his room.

Chara watches, being really, really quiet. Or as close an approximation as she can manage. She might be humming a little. But that doesn't really count. It's not like it's actually loud. She was a little jealous when he changed into a bird. She'd always wanted to do that, but her bones couldn't handle the transformation.

Vis Niyambi wrote:
"Yeah, my bones are super fragile. And I'll take whatever help I can get," she added with a cheerful grin. "It's not easy being a breakable daredevil," she added with a mournful sigh.

The nurse rolled her eyes. "Well, I can see you're fitting in just fine. No wonder you're friends with this little troublemaker," she said with an exasperated smile for Chara. "I'll go and see what room your other friend is in. Just wait right there and no funny business," she warned. "We'll be good, Miss Trurow," Chara chirped. "I'll believe that when I see it," the nurse muttered to herself as she walked away.

Her grip is loose at best and will let go at the slightest sign of resistance because of her breakable nature, but she keeps up a steady stream of chatter as she leads Vis through the after-hours entrance to the infirmary from the elementary school...the one that goes past but not into Miss Zamarosok's office. "Hello," she said, flagging down a nurse as soon as they were there. "Our friend just accidentally blew himself up so we're here to fetch him back once he's all better."The nurse chuckled in spite of herself. "Of course, Chara. And what is your friend's name?" "Ummm.....Gareth...I think. He's a new friend. We were only just introduced." The nurse gave Chara a severe look. "You didn't talk him into doing anything dangerous, did you?" "No....ummmm......maybe? Just a little bit...."

Vis Niyambi wrote:
"Great! Come on, then, we should hurry. They patch people up super quick!" she said, grabbing Vis's hand and pulling gently.

"I'm gonna go to the infirmary then. It's always nice when there's someone waiting for you when you get done getting patched up. Anyone wanna come with?"

Vis Niyambi wrote:
"I have Charzine's Syndrome," she said matter-of-factly. "Since we didn't live on the sun, I didn't get the right medicine soon enough and now my bones break super easy. Phaezeriel...he's the nice demon who runs the infirmary...anyways, he's supposed to be working on some kind of treatment that will make it better, but it's really complicated. Nobody's ever been able to cure it before." "Hey, do you want the rest of my charcoal....I thought I was hungrier than I actually was. Don't worry if you don't. Phaedra will eat it if you don't, but she'll pretend that she isn't and try to sneak pieces because she's worried about getting fat."

Vis Niyambi wrote:
"Mostly talking and eating so far, but we're gonna play a super fun game in a little bit. You can play too! Well, might be easier for you anyways. I don't know. I've never asked you if you can fly. I can't fly on my own cause if I try my wings just crumple up all broken. But I am not giving up! Not me! I love to do all kinds of stunts and stuff. So Lang is gonna make these balls of air that I can bounce around in and do fun tricks! It'll be great! You should play too."

I prefer more excitement in my life." "Hey, Vis," she said waving wildly as she saw the boy from class. "Come play with us." "He's pretty quiet too," she added in what was supposed to be a quiet aside, but wasn't as quiet as she'd meant it to be. "But he's one of the few people Phaedra isn't totally mean to."

"Wouldn't work," Chara said with an indifferent shrug. "Even if I can't feel the pain, the magic would still send me to the infirmary right away once my bones cracked. It always does. So I don't die and stuff."

Grim Jr. wrote: "I could still play with you" "No offense, Grim, but it's totally not the same," she said a little condescendingly. But I need to find a flotation device first because I can't swim," she admitted, bouncing up and down eagerly as best she can inside a giant ball of air.

Chara shot out of the classroom suspiciously quickly once they were dismissed for the day. She had plans....plans that involved roller skates and a water slide.....

Chara had gone to the door to see what had happened to Jacob. He'd been gone an awful long time. Her eyes got big when she saw the unfolding confrontation and when Ignace screamed she shouted, "EVERYBODY RUN!" in a surprisingly loud voice for such a little girl.

Jacob's lunch is abruptly interrupted by a small red-headed girl with freckles and big blue eyes.

Skipped cheerfully down the hall, dragging Ignace along with her. Ignace was a bundle of nerves now that she knew going to the nurses office wasn't an option. "Stop being so silly! Big sis is teaching class today! It can't be that bad with her in charge," she said, trying to encourage Ignace.

It wasn't entirely obvious where she got the wood to build the ramp, but she must have got it from somewhere. With pillows tied all around her body, the determined freckle-faced child, wisps of red hair sticking out from underneath her helmet, stepped to the top of the ramp she'd laid over the staircase and jumped on with both roller skates. "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" She zoomed down the stairs and along the hallway past the cafeteria before crash landing against the doors to the big kid school with a sickening crunch. "Totally worth it," she groaned before being whisked away to the infirmary.
