"And the rest of you, I wouldn't get any high-minded ideas about ruling a place we're being chartered to map. He knows how strong Shiroz' protective instincts are. In the heat of the moment Evan have forgotten that he can communicate mentally with Shiroz. The connection is after all quite fresh to him. She finally looks up into his ridiculously beautiful face. Celest smiles mischievously and her voice turns husky. "Unless there's a queen." She strokes Evan's long silky hair and brings her lips closer to his. "If there's a queen you gotta follow her rules too." ![]() Reknar, it is possible to be a relatively clever fighter, without too much trouble, though perhaps being some variety of ranger might be more your cup of tea (say the skirmisher if you want to avoid spell casting and it mixes pretty well most other legal archetypes). Sticking with fighter though, you could simply give him a an INT of 14 which combined with being human, and your favored class bonus give you a very respectable 6 skill points per level for Climb, Swim, a Knowledge, Survival, Intimidate and Ride (or some version of that, maybe with Profession (soldier)). You can expand your class skill choices via your traits which can give you greater access to non-class skills along with a small one time bonus. Maybe Perception, Acrobatics, Bluff, Diplomacy, a different Knowledge, Sense Motive, or Use Magic Device depending on the kind of fighter you want to play. There are a number of legal archetypes that might further help you define your character from the Advanced Player's Guide. I personally love playing smart fighters. ![]()

![]() Celest had been minding her own business on the 26th of Abadius in the market when a passing purse caught her eye. She had been minding her own business because she had been laying low. Laying low had been her primary job these last few days after after she had come to town from the River Kingdoms she had run afoul some of the lord mayor's thuggish city guardsmen and played them for a week's pay in a game of cards. They had been sore losers and had only gotten sorer after she was forced to stab one to make her escape. Eluding them and over indulging in the local ale had left her wanting for money and purse seemed to call to her, so she followed, furtively looking over her shoulder as she did. She followed the purse and its owner--an fit, regal-looking man in his fifties surrounded by a nattering entourage of hangers on and yesfolk who clung to him like flies to horse manure through the muddy winding streets and into the main square. It was there as she contemplated relieving the man of his terrible monetary burden that she noticed the posted invite to explore the wilds to the west of the city, the Stolen Lands. Lands she had briefly passed through the autumn before hoping to elude her past in the River Kingdoms. One could be paid to lay low? I am so in. She promptly submitted an application filled with fictions she imagined might look good on a Pathfinder's resume but would be hard to verify. And then she waited. And waited some more. And cheated the night guards at cards too. And hid out some more until finally a month later she was standing here among the other possible applicants and-and wouldn't you know, that half-orc was here.... Around the River Kingdoms half-orcs were nearly as common as half-elves were in Falcon's Hallow. But a goody-goody like this one would have stood out in anyone's mind in the River Kingdoms and gave the subspecies as a whole a bad name. You can't outrun your past. You can only stab it a few times and leave it bleeding in some gods forsaken back alley. Celest stood there pondering her options. They hadn't formally met. She might not even recognize her. Rok wrote: "Of course I have what it takes. All of us do, we wouldn't have been summoned to witness the final selection if we didn't have some measure of competence." Celest actually flinched at the pronouncement. No doubt about it. It's her. Still even if she does recognize me it's not like she can have any ill-will. I mean she obviously survived after all. ![]()

Player - The Great Green God Race - Human (Kellid) Class - None (Rogue/Fighter) --- Leadership Roles - QUEEN of Course! (everyone else can be my consorts!) Failing that Thieves' Guild Master (What that's not a role?), Royal Enforcer, Spymaster, Warden (That way I don't have ta run from any of them.), Treasurer ;) Viceroy (My own little parasitic paradise?), Diplomat (Sorry, I had ta kill everyone and take their stuff.) or Consort. Basically any task involving a high benefit to low work output ratio. Combat Roles - You ever have ta wrestle a feral cat? Going for a rogue/fighter (caddish) build--lots of dirty tricks, acrobatics, sneak attacks and general underhandedness. I got your freakin' Sword Pact right here baby! Celset fires her hidden crossbow at her dueling opponent aiming for his sword arm. When he charges (they always do) she'll toss it at his legs to trip him up. Out of Combat Roles - You ever have ta live with a feral cat? Sleep, sleep around, drink, gamble, sometimes not cheat, curse like an imaginative sailor, instigate situations that require her combat role, attempt not to care about stuff. Player's Introduction - I play. I play lots (about 3,400 posts since March). I GM Kingmaker in real life and I took over a game here on the site when a previous GM dropped out. I've written for Goodman and Dungeon and Dragon and Wizards and other places I can't quite remember. I once shot a man for snoring. I may have ego problems.... Resume Skip to the 'about me' section for the heart of the matter. The rest is general info on my online Kingmaker game. Post samples
Faeria the now formerly mad, after the NPC's capture in the Narlmarches. Breakfast with Celest and Lily Another Celest in another (much slower) game. Honestly the whole exchange is pretty funny. This Celest is so much fun to play I'm basically rebuilding her for this game (just have to update/downgrade her copy). All the background info is basically the same. The crunch will change slightly.
