![]() I think I am posting in the right place (correct me if I am wrong). If a character has the never stop shooting trait: Never Stop Shooting:
If your hit point total drops to 0 or lower but you are not dead, you may act as if disabled rather than dying (as if you possessed the Diehard feat). However, you can use your actions only to draw a firearm, reload a firearm, or attack with a firearm. If you have the Diehard feat, this trait also allows you to substitute your Wisdom score for your Constitution score for the purpose of determining the negative hit point total at which you die. And also has the diehard feat. If the character attain any effect that modified their "effective constitution for determining when a character dies" or similar verbage; such as Lingering Spirit Discovery:
The alchemist is familiar enough with the ties between his body and spirit that he lingers at death’s door far longer than a normal person. He treats his Constitution as 10 points higher than normal for the purpose of determining when hit point damage kills him (so an alchemist with a Constitution of 10 and this discovery dies at –20 hit points instead of –10). Reducing him to 0 Constitution or its equivalent (from ability damage, ability drain, Constitution penalties, and so on) makes him unconscious and comatose, but he is only killed after taking an additional 5 points of Constitution damage, drain, or penalty (in effect, the alchemist must be brought to –5 Constitution in order to be killed by these attacks). OR Tourmaline Sphere:
This stone grants you a benefit only when you're dying. When determining the number of negative hit points you must accrue to die, treat your Constitution score as if it were 2 higher. This doesn't provide a bonus to Constitution, so it doesn't grant a bonus on checks made to stabilize but does provide you 2 additional rounds during which to attempt such checks. You can only benefit from one tourmaline sphere ioun stone at a time. Does this change how deeply negative a character can go before dying based on the substitution of their wisdom score, or does it only count from their actual con score. Example: I have never stop shooting trait and diehard. I have CON 8 and WIS 16. I buy a tourmaline sphere. A) Do I die at -16 (sphere doesn't help)? or -18? B) Also do these "treat CON score as ____ higher" stack? Thanks for any feedback, and sorry for the convoluted question. Hope I expressed it clearly. ![]()

![]() I just finished fleshing out a Strix construct obsessed sorcerer for a kingmaker campaign. An idea I had from long ago, about a flying construct. Class Sorceror[crossblooded(arcane/impossible bloodlines) feats:
traits:
If I were human I would take the armor proficiencies and start heading toward arcane armor training. so I can be a sorcerer in a can. Also the human favored class bonus for sorc is pretty sweet but so is the generic extra skill point as if you have a low int you aren't getting very far skill wise. As this character I just plan on using crafting abilities to make a construct army and magical items and my leadership ability to run them. hopefully getting a cohort and a familiar running around, but the sorc herself will be mostly forgot about during fights and such. My kind of fun but maybe not other peoples. besides imp familiar and leadership the crafting feats I think are the general progression if your going impossible bloodline. Goodluck with your character, hope this helps, Really excited for my character in kingmaker. ![]()
![]() I am also looking at this build. I just looking to be a buffer and help where I can. I think the soothsayer is a good alternative to cackle, as I also don't like cackle just for my flavor reasons, and soothsayer means if only counts down when used which is cool, imo (especially for evil eye). As a buffer I went fortune hex aswell. My first trait, same as yours. 2nd is agent of chance. Fate's favored would be good if you want to get a lot of luck bonuses and more harrow flavor, that combined with either the two patrons that give divine favor would be good. otherwise just take as many touch spells as you can get and throw them returning mw cards :) Ill have more of a build later, but right now my brain isn't working right. ![]()
![]() Hey Guys, I am trying to make a gnome PFS character who uses Fell Magic to cast Chill Touch to do some fun stuff. I definitely want to take at least two levels of Ninja so I can get pressure points and start doing 2 str points when I get sneak attack. I also want him to be a poison master taking the knack for poison alt racial. This implies levels of alchemist I'm thinking 4 to 6 to get where I want with that. My other 4 to 6 levels are at the disposal of the forums :) Here's where all the complications come in. How to hit. The DC of the Chill Touch is based off Wisdom so I want to max that. Next since I'm taking levels of alchemist I'm thinking I max int next. And I need 13 cha to get Extra Gnome Magic feat. I was thinking of going Mindchemist alchemist so I could always buff wis and use a few points elsewhere. My current stats are (the only one that is locked is the 13 cha which was only a 1 point investment due to gnome racial).
So I'm essentially asking for ways to get wisdom to hit. I looked at 2 levels of Sensei monk but that only applies to unarmed strikes and I was under the impression that touch attacks aren't unarmed strikes (correct me if I'm wrong). I also looked at guided weapon property through amulet of mighty fists (but there was a few more confusing parts to that, and the fact guided property is PFS illegal). There is the Guided Hand feat but Irori I don't think can save me as again I don't think unarmed strikes are touch attacks. Is there a cleric or inquisitor way to do it, thought there was a domain power but not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks All ![]()

![]() Already way too invested in Pathfinder to switch. The APs are too stronk and Pathfinder Society will always be where my loyalty lies. To me it is a way better format for playing games, with friends or new people. The playtest for D&D Next was good but still a far cry from where Dungeons and Dragons needs to be. Will say its way better than 4th, IMO. It was good in its simplicity, but maybe a little too watered down for my taste. Pathfinder all the way. ![]()
![]() Just found Shadow Dodge This now gives our super speed build a stupid high AC if I am understanding the feat correctly. ![]()
![]() I've been thinking about the same thing as Quest for Perfection gives the Axebeak companion. I think you add the difference between the HD the creature comes with and the HD you mount gets. As for feats and skill points, I would figure these are free for you to choose (but this is based purely on my opinion). I can see it being ruled as the mount comes with those skill points and feats spent. I do hope the player gets to choose the skill points and feats for the entire animal and not from a specific point forward. As for increasing the int stat to 6 that sound, almost definitely yes as it is part of your classes ability that your mount has an int 6 (I'm 99% sure but it only takes 1% to be wrong). Hope I have helped in some little way. ![]()
![]() Whose to say the ring isn't made of magical twine, or some kind of rock, or a root, or any other non metallic jewelry? That would be my way around getting magical items. Limiting a animal companions armor is kinda lame but I think barding is kinda lame, too (secretly because my tree companion can't wear armor) :). ![]()
![]() Very Cool build Anger Wiggles. Nice, I would've never looked witch but I'm slowly learning there are a couple good witch builds. I do however agree with arachnofiend, Feral Combat Training doesn't seem useful unless your taking levels of monk. And I would think there would be more Alchemist in AW's build but maybe the investment is too much and that's what makes it not worth it. ![]()
![]() Mr James Jacobs, how is the myrmidarch's ranged spellstrike supposed to work? How does one cast a spell (standand action) and get a full attack action (full round action) in the same round? Is this a special abilty allowed by the class feature or is there something I am missing? Please you extensive examples and small words as it has been a long day of work and mine brain is mush... ![]()
![]() I would like to think that it was not intentional but RAW does an aasimar with 1 level wizard / 1 level fighter qualify for eldritch knight prestige class? Even though it lists as "able to cast 3rd-level arcane spell's'?" Do plurals stand for nothing? A more interesting question, what Game of Thrones house would you be from... if by choice? if by personality? ![]()

![]() can anyone show me in the rules or explain how someone being attacked from the mist is always flatfooted? Or how you always get sneak attack when you attack from the mist? I have read the rules on concealment, fog cloud, flat footed, and cover (not sure that last one had anything to do with it but oh well) and I am just not seeing these things all connect to give SA all the time and a flat footed opponent. I've also read that standing on the edge of the mist allows the same affect but no class or equipment dip as you can see out but they can't see in. Also would this whole build still work if you just used smokesticks? ![]()

![]() I think that since the part about mithril weapons count as silver is a completely different sentence, anything made from mithril counts as silver for the purposes of overcoming damage resistance. Now whether or not you can make mithril arrow, I think the jury still isn't on in this; as the example is ambiguous. To the OP: A Shuriken is made of metal; therefore, it can be made of mithril. Based on the idea of the original weight being used to calculate cost, Shurikens are .5 pounds, and making 50 mithril shurikens would cost 10gp for 50 shuriken and 250gp for the mithril or 260gp for 50 (cheaper than actually buying masterwork shurikens). Making it 5.2gp for 1 shuriken; which counts as masterwork and counts as silver for the purposes for overcoming damage reduction. Any miscalculations or discrepancies? ![]()
![]() @drakkiel would this build suddenly become valid if the shurikens did d6 per hit? With the addition of the warpriest in the ACG making scaling damage based on one weapon which you select weapon focus with I would love to see d6s or d8s as shuriken. In general; I don't see how TWF helps? It allows you to throw a 2nd in your off hand at -2/-2? Am I having a lapse in brain function or is this applicable? ![]()
![]() Hey everyone, Just wanted some advice. I am starting a PFS character and took the Venom Drenched Trait. Venom-Drenched:
You have nothing to fear from one sort of poison. In fact, you can actually drink the toxic brew in order to make your blood dangerous. Benefit: You are immune to one specific nonmagical poison. If you ingest a dose of that poison (even if it is a contact, inhaled, or injury poison), it remains in your system for 24 hours; any creature that bites you during that time is subject to the poison’s effects. from: Halflings of Golarian
Just wanted some help picking my poison. I can pick it for one of two reasons. One) a specific poison constantly crops up in PFS and it would be a good poison to be immune to. Two) When/if I get bit it would be a good poison to subject a creature to. I'd I would like it to be releaively cheap so that if I buy multiples to ingest it won't break the bank. If there is a good poison that can do both 1 & 2 then more power to you. Otherwise thanks for your help ![]()
![]() I am totally piggy backing on this idea. Been trying to find ways to maximize my con to make my breathe weapon as powerful as possible. Been thinking of making an unkillable tank. Obviously I thought of barbarian rage (3rd pfs char that has rage). Was thinking of going stalwart defender for twice as much rage and supreme tankiness; that and unbreakable fighter. ![]()
![]() As long as optimized doesn't mean maximized I agree with most things said. I'm just a little tired of these maximized characters with no flaws who crunch through combat with no real threat. I've been toying around with strong prominent character flaws, like Aboniks said something non-optimal. Again, non-optimal doesn't necessarily mean tank it but I found I enjoy not being the best at everything. Its nice to be able to carry the party but I find it more fun to let people have their strengths and weakness and I having my own. The 5 roles seem good but don't forget blending roles. Otherwise I like it. Lastly, dont forget about giving every character, Character! Make them noteworthy :) ![]()
![]() @Mike Mistele, where is the only one buddy ruling? @DrkMagusX I also had a hard time selecting a faction as none of them are decidedly nature oriented (which I think is a short coming of the society). However, I agree completely with Arutema, I didn't even know about the Verduran Forest, but upon making my character I gradually gravitated toward Taldor. I took the Princess/Prince trait to give me bonuses to talking skills, bought myself a tiara and claim to be a princess of the forest. ![]()
![]() Treesinger allowed me to check two boxes for myself, 1) making a druid 2) making a sunder character. I choose the Treant sapling, so at first level I took improved natural armor at 2nd my plant companion takes power attack and the 3rd feat at 5th is improved sunder which is taken after 4th when I increase it's int to 3. Though I could change the first feat to toughness to give it more tankiness since going from ac 11 to 12 isnt much of an improvement. Im just wondering what magic slots it has so I can kit him up with bracers of armor, a belt of con/str, ring of protection, etc. However, I could give the treant light armor proficiency and then that significantly improves its AC. So what do you think, toughness, INA, or Lt Amr Prof? If I didnt pick the treant not sure what other one I would pick, I like them all! Very good elf archetype. ![]()
![]() Monk level? Super saves and another feat. Take dodge as a bonus feat. Wisdom to AC. Then if you take toughness (which is a good feat for a tank) you can go stalwart defender. Druid level? Animal Companion, plus boon companion feat? More divine spell casting. Rogue level also sounds good. Finally Pathfinder Chronicler, to write down your tale (as per peasant's request) and pull 100gp worth of stuff out your pack? Sounds like a fun extraordinary character. Good Luck
