Castil walks over to Vartas after the ceremony and congratulates him on a job well done. It was an honor serving under your command.as he salutes the Ultramarine by standing at attention and placing his bionic left hand over his heart. Afterwards, he shares words with his brothers and celebrates the victory and honor to Vartas with everyone there.

Great job Spooks, thanks for the great mission and being a fine GM example for my first PBP experience.

Castil does as ordered and sees to the prisoner. Now that he is able to focus on tasks and not worry about staying alive he considers the woman and the implications of her further while he awaits transport.

Brother Castil returns to pick up his storm bolter, he's carried it a long way, Ought not leave it now he thinks to himself as he searches for the weapon. He finds it and stows it over his shoulder alongside his Astartes bolter and returns to await transport with his squad.

Well done brothers. Good to see everyone's flesh whole, no matter how fragile it may be. Castil relaxes and no longer need sustain powers. The mission complete, the objectives taken, there was little to do now but return and investigate any intelligence.

Castil hears the gears of the tank roar and the Russ nearly collides with him, but he steps aside and readies for a counter attack.

Hey, I appreciate the discussion and while I failed to mention earlier, I do agree with some of what you've said. I'm about to bbq so I'll try to reply this evening.

Sorry for being short, not upset, that's just a saying my dad uses when it's not worth arguing about with a laugh. Busy today on phone so can't explain too much, so just me letting it go. If others want to weigh in cool. If need be I can explain more clearly if you want to continue the discussion, but for this game, I'm clear on your ruling.

I think you're comparing apples and oranges, blanketing rules to cover too much, and not really getting any of my arguments, just asserting your opinion without much reasoning vs mine.

What's the point of a debate if we are 2 ships passing in the night, no conflict. Anyways, not worth all the wear and tear on a chicken's arse for the price of this egg, but might be something to consider later if I GM.

As the tank moves forward it only shortens the distance between itself and Castil. Castil seizes upon the moment and charges the tank with all his fury and might, dropping the storm bolter and charging forward with both hands on his force sword, as if he were going to split it in two.

Haven't ever used this yet, so unsure how it should go, I believe its as follows, but could be wrong. Also not sure if we are going by Errata rules or not, but it calls for an additional FP test for using it, with all the risks of warp phenom/perils. Originally its an opposed WP test...Not sure if I should wait to post this b/c it could dodge or if i just do it now to save time..Also not sure if something that isn't alive could have an opposed WP, and if so what is it? If not, then I automatically win? Makes sense, if I hit a wall, it can't do much to resist me and I could channel warp powers into the blow. Things alive can resist as normal if they pass a WP test.

Assuming it hits, the following would apply: Feel free to edit or change and/or roll for my mistakes or misses

I didn't see my action posted on your round 1 summary, and didn't see it put on round 2, so I'll assume I just ran closer...Still no info on range, so hopefully we are within charge distance, otherwise I'll just keep running and disregard my attack.

Castil acknowledges the order and follows his squad towards the last obstacle before extraction. He readies his storm bolter and force sword, eager to unleash the hatred he'd built up, but barely diminished with the sudden warp phenomenon stealing any glory of battle.

As he nears the woman he lets down his guard and lowers his weapons. Looking to his squad he says She is harmless too us. However, she is unique though, able to resist the push of the warp. I am puzzled how Olid was able to control such a "blank" mind, there are many who may wish to study this woman. She must survive and can not be allowed to escape. Once he finishes he turns to the Apothecary. Brother Zedkiel, please make sure she is stable. She is a valuable find.

While in the midst of Castil's movements he comes across something that catches his eyes. Reaching for it, he discovers its a data-slate that survived the warp blast. Commander, I found a data-slate that has some very useful information. I think you should take a look.Castil stands ready to pass the data to their commander and awaits to see if the Black Templar will trust his words.

As Castil hears his commander's question, he tries to understand and recollect something that could explain what he is thinking, trying to be quick, not to allow this Thing a chance to act. As he does so he moves closer towards the woman, ready to end the resistance he's feeling mentally.

Just a heads up, Yuugassa, the soon to be GM is sick and is taking a break til the 15th of February in our other game. It might be a little while til he gets over here. Just letting everyone know we got some downtime after mission.

@Spooks, you posted an Awarness test after i had posted an action, the Psynic. test. Maybe you missed it? Just waiting on that before I round them up as per Vartas orders.

Castil moves swiftly to the Psyker and ends his suffering earlier than he had wished. He could not let Olid linger and risk him doing something stupid through the warp, something a caged animal would do. No quarter would be given, all would know that Olid has fallen. His troops morale will be crushed.

As for the people tainted by the warp, Castil opens himself to the warp and attempts to detect any remaining warp residue or taint.

Sorry for poor format, on phone. [/OOC]

Castil rounds the corner and instantly recognizes the work of the rogue psyker. They are but pawns under the control of the psyker, target the witch.

Castil's fury begins to build, he didn't like others playing in his warp sandbox and the other presences only made it worse. He motions to his brothers with hand signals, tapping Zedkiel in front of him as to emphasize his warning.

Enemy psyker 20m ahead, other unknown warp presences. Hit them hard and quick, I have no idea what they are doing but it will end now. For your own safety try not to get between my psychic attacks and the enemy, there is no such thing as friendly fire.

With no more to say he continues forward as fast as his brothers can move, readying himself for the moment he could punish those who meddle in the warp unsanctioned. He tightens the grip of his force sword, his mechanical flesh yearning for melee combat.

Castil peers into the unseen warp tides, trying to trace the ripples the rebel psyker is causing, trying to pinpoint his exact location so they could engage with speed. While unsure if he could mask his own presence, he takes care not to come close to its mind.

Castil senses the Psyker's presence and knows it is meddling in the warp.

Careful brother, that Psyker is active, if something goes wrong, the Psyker himself will most likely be the center of a warp rift. Keep your distance, you are the only medic capable of treating Astartes.

Castil considers using the warp to shield them, but he knows that would only give away his position and he wasn't sure how the Black Templar would react. Instead, Castil follows, storm bolter in one hand, force sword in another.

Yea, we still got two dreadnaughts, one newly upgraded that could do some damage. Depends on the rest of the battle and how its going I suppose.

Brother Castil nearly leaves Zedkiel behind accidentally until he turns around to catch him looking at a hidden entrance. Castil satisfied with the option, but having prepared himself for battle, he didn't like running away from it. Regardless, he had a mission and that was the elimination of a rebel psyker. The faster he could find it, the better.

Castil returns to the entrance and comms his brothers: Commander, we have found another possible entrance into the facility, a cooling shaft. Moving into now to investigate.

Castil moves into the entrance, barely able to fit, and moves quickly. The men were buying time and Castil had no intention of letting them complete whatever is the rebels had planned.

Castil acknowledges the order with little more than his movement. He rises and swiftly moves into the trenches, keeping as low as possible, so that they could move up as far as possible before engaging.

A blind grenade is a smoke grenade. As I suggested in the OOC text of my previous message, "blind" grenade aka Smoke grenade would cover our advance while we rush them and they get suppressed by you or others.

I remember when we had this WTF moment. Blind grenade was thought to be flash, but its not. So our player goes in thinking its flash grenades and then smoke just pours out, our GM laughed, our Astropath just ended up getting caught I think.

Copy that Commander, ready to move.

We all certainly appreciate you stepping up and handling the game, you've done well for your first time. I couldn't of guessed it was your first time in the FFG universe.

If you are truely ready to take a break, then we can see if anyone here is willin to step up, even if only temporary? or maybe someone has a good direction for the campaign they'd like to take us in.

We can try to recruit a new GM.

Don't know if it would be cool, but there is another DW game I'm in on this site, recruitment only got us the minimum really. It has some open recruitment. Could be something were you guys get deployed onto his mission perhaps? The GM wanted more players but interest wasn't too high, lots of people never showed and then one guy just dropped at the beginnig of our second mission. We began at Level 5, a bit higher, but could work if we are transferred or something.

I enjoy playing with you all, would hate to see us part ways now. Lets do what we can to find another person to lead this game, and/or I'll ask the GM of our other game how he would feel about taking one squad of guys into his current game. He originally wanted 6-10 players, we have maybe 3-4 now...Who knows, could be less soon with our current mission on a Tyranid infested planet.

No one really uses it, but in the rules, you are allowed to switch your DOS (assuming its higher) with one of your damage rolls. This isn't the "proven" quality which is a static number, this changes depending on your DOS.

Sorry Commander, I can not tell you anything more than before. As he awaits orders and then finally hears Varta's suggestion and question, he responds with his current grenade count.I have Krak and frag grenades left. Then seeing Zedkiels grenade he comms his team.

A blind grenade? Castil says as he's about to head out with Zedkiel. Vartas, if you can cover our approach, my Iron Hand brother and I can advance more quickly and be upon them before they can react he says to his battle brothers over vox comms.

Iron Hand attack pattern: Sacrifice reaction for full movement. Not sure of our current distance, but could be an idea. Smoke covers our approach, everyone for that matter, we'd just be faster maybe, but others with high movement and/or jump-pack would be right along, if not quicker.

Also, what is the name of the other Iron Clad? Faust went to get upgraded, but not sure if we ever got name of other dreadnaught.

Even if we stay in the trenches, we should be able to move more easily if they enemy is blind. I suggest suppression too, in case they can see through the smoke or accidentally fire a good shot.

Castil then takes a moment to consider if there might be stealthier approach, maybe they could somehow flank them and surprise them as his brothers are suppressing them. Maybe they could still salvage the tank instead of destroying it.

Castil clears his thoughts and really takes a moment to concentrate in the area where the Colonel had said the rebels were holed up, peeking and straining his senses to follow hints of the warp and see if they were being drawn to a being other than himself nearby.

3DOS gives me exact position of Psyker or creature location. It doesn't necessarily give me any information according to the book. With 1-3DOS its only location with Psyniscience tests. Though earlier it just seemed to be a regular Psyker when I noticed it before.

After sensing the other being affecting the warp, he replies to Brother Vartas: I know exactly where it is, I can feel it, same as last time, but I would need to be closer to sense more.

+++Commander, Colonel Falken has informed me of a remaining rebel group holed up not far from here, his men reported spotting the Psyker among the retreating soldiers. The Colonel doesn't have the resources to finish them off and deal with the Psyker now. Requesting permission to deal with the remaining Psyker and the holed up rebels. Will rendezvous with Kill-team after I deal with that warp-spawn.+++

Brother Castil's blood lust is pure hatred in harmony with the Dreadnaughts. Now that the Colonel was safe he could turn his attention to an earlier concern. He searches within the warp trying to locate the psyker that devestated their troops earlier but can't seem to focus clearly while maintaining a connection with the Dreadnaughts.

After he comms the Colonel and kill team, not waiting for an immediate reply, he returns his attention to the Dreadnaughts and hails them +++I glimpsed yet a small part of your pain, sacrifce, and hatred. I am wiser and tempered by your experience. There is plenty more for you to accomplish, but I must depart to locate a rogue psyker. Such a being poses unimaginable dangers, for dancing with the warp requires a certain knowledge and blessing of the Emperor. Once he's conversed with the ancient ones Castil moves to locate his kill-team, waiting for any reply concerning the psyker.

Attacks vs horde are at +30 for ranged and melee. Don't forget.

Castil leaps onto the closest Dreadnaught, urging them forward so that he could maintain proximity and direct their actions. Recalling the unique attack pattern of the Iron Hand in his mind, he empathically is connected with his brothers and their minds think as one, agreeing on the collective decision as quickly as Castil could imagine it. They rush forward with no regard for enemy fire, making haste towards the rebel horde, closing the distance to engage them in close combat and break their cohesion.

Brother Castil, having vanquished the last Chimera in haste, moves closer to the Dreadnaughts now that combat is at a pause. As he does, he takes notice of the incoming TechMarine and welcomes any man who understands the weakness in our flesh and takes action to correct that. Still in a hurry for a man of such youth, Castil's enthusiasm for war isn't as mature as the brothers. While the orders of escort were the first he's heard, his only concern and thought now was of his brothers and Colonel Folken.

Opening a comm to the Dreadnaughts and including the joining Techmarine, he asks for assistance before they carry on with their mission, whatever it may be. +++I have come to ask for your Iron and Hate. The Colonel's flank badly needs reinforcements, could you spare a few moments to assist the flank and my Kill team? It has been too long since I've fought with blood brothers, lend me your fury and I shall share with you my own. Come, let us show these heretics the true Hatred and strength of the Iron Hand. In his own excitement, like a younger brother finally getting to play with his older brothers outside, Castil rips a hole into warp blanketing himself and the Dreadnaughts in powers known only to their Chapter. It happens nearly instantaneous, Castil not even waiting for a reply, as if embracing his brothers and any ally near enough in a blanket of surging power and fortitude.

I had originally envisioned something like starting a squad with them and/or somehow accessing our Chapter Attack Pattern, as it allows us to trade reactions for full movement towards the enemy. It's the Iron Hand way, combined with my Warp powers, I hope we can charge into the Horde. Not sure how I could, I don't have command and Charm isn't relevant. So??? Maybe not even necessary, it could be something they initiate? One last thing, is it possibe to hitch a ride on a Dreadnaught? Could I somehow piggy back on one? Is that normal or a big no no/impossible difficulty for reasons unknown to my play experience. Just thought it would be easier to maintain powers and move with them if we have the attack pattern and/or I ride along with them to sustain powers and close proximity. Maybe brother Invictus gets a ride on the other? Not going to try and do anything until I gauge their reaction to my battle cry. If they agree, then I'll try and ask about hoping on...but if its a common thing, maybe they'll offer?

Once per session squad mode may be started and entered by us freely. After that it requires what you described.

Speaking of which, Who is in support range? Don't think I am, but maybe some ranges for us would be nice. Not sure how far I'm from the offensive..I ran 50m to the wreckage, but not sure how far I'm going now towards the rebels.

Brother Castil's mind wonders a moment before he regains a better sense of himself. Steeled by the words of an old teacher he understands the Emperor walks with him no matter the path he chooses. It is in this moment he decides to aid the ancient ones by taking care of the rebels attempting to flank it. Once they are free to concentrate their fire, they could surely aid in rescuing the colonel and joining the offensive. Also, it presented him an opportunity to expand his understanding and cohesion with some of his chapters most renowned souls. He had no interest in small talk, merely the clarity and singular focus of battle. Those machines represented the complete sacrifice of all the advantages and disadvantages of flesh, entombed in a mechanical machine that was among the strongest the Imperium had to offer in the fight against the enemies of the Imperium. Those rebels were beneath the munitions and effort of the Dreadnaughts, brother Castil would see to it his brother's received the glory they craved and their hatred flamed by their success, not a distraction.

Castil makes a full run towards flanking rebels, trying to approach with some stealth in hopes of flanking, but he doesn't quite time himself correctly. Perhaps the confusion of the battle will shield his movement, if not, Castil feared not, for he wasn't alone in his task.

Before deciding what to do, Castil takes one last look at the dreadnaughts and tries to evaluate their tactical situation, knowing he had a few moments longer than his brothers who were about to surprise the horde with an offensive. He knew he should follow orders and join the assault to protect the Colonel, but his bonds with his Iron Hand brothers was stronger. His weaker emotions, those most basic instilled virtues and beliefs since becoming an Asartes, easily overcame the cold logic and precision of his steely flesh and implants. Torn in a way he had never been confronted with, he hesitated and looked for any sign his aid might make the difference in their survival. Not knowing how the Warp would affect them, the occasion had never arrived in his Chapter's history, the Ancience ones perhaps kept it to themselves, too prideful to have admited needing help...Such was the way of his chapter, no room for weakness, but those smart enough knew it as team work.

Weapon may not be functional, but could be worth a try if the line of sight is good enough to attack the enemy.

What is my range to the horde? I think everyone else is near it, maybe short range or point blank, but I ran off 50m or more to the wreckage...Just wondering for weapons, psy abilities, and movement.

Also, I asked in OOC in the gameplay thread, maybe I'd need some roll to know, but perhaps with my Librarian status and b/c they are Iron Hand Dreadnaughts from my Chapter, I would know if our Chapter Ability Deus Ex Ferrum would augment them or not..and if so, would I know to what extent? Would want to make sure its worth it and even feasible/technical...Not sure if I'd need to be at their feet nearby and if that's dangerous and/or if I could hop up on one and ride it/hang on to it?? Sorry, just trying to envision how it would be fighting with ground forces and if it's too clumsy to be in close proximity to other marines and vehicles.

Also, any things that I might add or change, would be to the benefit of the team and not necessarily known to the rest of the universe. If you could say travel in another way, I'm not re-writing the universe for that, just may be a different option for you all to travl on, but clearly explained and developed, not just some BS.

As Brother Castil continues moving until he arrives near the wreckage, he replies to Vartas, Already on my way, sliding in behind it into cover.

Half Action move 7m, should place me right there at 49m.

Once there, Castil quickly begins drawing the warp into himself in a secret technique only known to his Chapter's Librarians.

Castil feels the strength run through him, empowering his mechanical flesh even further. He readies himself and attempts to move the husk on his own, not knowing if it would be enough, but knowing that time wasn't on his side and he couldn't wait for anyone else to arrive. He bends down and grips it with all his might and begins to lift and push it out of the entrance so reinforcements could pour in.
