IT IS THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME, NOT THE LETTER OF THE RULES, WHICH IS IMPORTANT. NEVER HOLD TO THE LETTER WRITTEN, NOR ALLOW SOME BARRACKS
ROOM LAWYER TO FORCE QUOTATIONS FROM THE RULE BOOK UPON YOU, IF IT GOES AGAINST THE OBVIOUS INTENT OF THE GAME. AS YOU HEW THE LINE
WITH RESPECT TO CONFORMITY TO MAJOR SYSTEMS AND UNIFORMITY OF PLAY IN GENERAL, ALSO BE CERTAIN THE GAME IS MASTERED BY YOU AND NOT BY
YOUR PLAYERS. WITHIN THE BROAD PARAMETERS GIVEN IN THE ADVANCED DUNGEONS 8 DRAGONS VOLUMES, YOU ARE CREATOR AND FINAL ARBITER.
BY ORDERING THINGS AS THEY SHOULD BE, THE GAME AS A WHOLE FIRST, YOUR CAMPAIGN NEXT, AND YOUR PARTICIPANTS THEREAFTER, YOU WILL BE
PLAYING ADVANCED DUNGEONS 8 DRAGONS AS IT WAS MEANT TO BE. MAY YOU FIND AS MUCH PLEASURE IN SO DOING AS THE REST OF US DO!

You're a gamer. You like to talk about gaming. Hell, you probably love telling other people about your gaming. Why not be constructive about it for once?

The Psychology Department at Middle Tennessee State University is conducting a Gamer Survey to determine how gaming and social development interact. Pitch in your two cents and pass it to anyone else that may be interested!

It's about time we told people that not all gamers are anti-social hermits . . . and the rest of them totally are. :-)

I have a small party of 3, 4th level characters. They are currently in a keep on the edge of a desert. I am open to ideas for a quick 4 hour session or maybe something that could work into several 4 hour sessions.
Party consists of a Druidic Ranger, PFRPG Witch, and a Hexblade. The characters are all children of the previous party [much larger 6-8 players].

I need ideas for a solo campaign for an 11th level mage. I am clean out except for something that would be a one-shot. Anyone have some ideas that would work for a single character? The rest of the party is on hiatus.

Hey Vic and Gary,
Product blog says that the scenarios are available but when you go to products they are still preorder?

Does anyone have any tips on how to encourage more involvement in PFS play? I am having a hard time trying to get people involved and was wondering if anyone has dealt with this problem, and have some suggestions on how to get more people involved.

If you input "encouraging pathfinder play" on the messageboards search box, why does it go directly to Sebastian's profile page?

Passing on the information as per request -

* Living Forgotten Realms
* Pathfinder Society
* Living Greyhawk
* Greyhawk Reborn

* Living Arcanis
* Tunnels & Trolls
* Godsend Agenda
* Fusion

RPGs discussed, but not confirmed:
* Undermountain Adventures
* Living Eberron
* Star Wars : Dawn of Defiance
* Shadowrun
* Traveller
* GURPs
* Rifts
* Spycraft
* Conan RPG
* Wraith Recon
* Bulldogs
* Serenity RPG
* Battlestar Galactica RPG
* Caeron 3000

We are very open to running other games as well. If you have something you'd like to run, drop me a line and I'll make sure you have a table and a slot on the schedule.

Our "Killer GM Kit" returns in 2008 with a lot of support from Paizo and other vendors. In 2008, the kit included around $90 in prize support. went to folks who ran five or more slots. So far, it looks like we'll match that in 2008. This year, the target is 7 slots due to the extra day. However, 7 slot GMs will given priority on the biggest & best kits while everyone will get a little something.

Publicly, there is no badge discount for GMs. However, we can be bought! :^) In all seriousness, given the overall US economy this year, I understand the pinch in the wallet. So, we'll work with anyone who really wants to come and help out.

Convention details may be found here:

GMs/Judges can register here:

Finally, I would love to hear your ideas and comments on ...

... improving Neoncon,

... promoting Neoncon,

... encouraging judge/GM participation.

If you have something to say, please drop me line ASAP.

Thanks for your time! I look forward to seeing most of you in October!

Warm Regards,

Doug Daulton

Hey everyone,
I am looking to find a lone wolf adventure for Ghostwalk campaign setting, any ideas on where I would be able to find one? Even a regular adventure mod? I just don't have the time to work out my own adventure at this time.

Scarab Sages

Paizoians, I need your advice...
Is it possible for a lycan to become undead? More specifically, intelligent undead [Vampire, Lich]? If so, then what would the form of the undead be? Would the undead be in the hybird/base/animal form? would it stay in that form or would it be able to change form like a living lycan? What do you think about natural vs. infected forms of lycanthropy being undead? What form would show if the lycan was changed into a incorporeal undead?

Thanks in advance.

I have concerns about our casters seem to keep running out of magic while the fighter types just keep going. The group came up with an idea that I would like to put out for public discussion. I am really attempting to find ways to break this system badly enough to make it unusable so that it may be repaired.

Here is the concept: A spellcaster (spontaneous or prepared) keeps a higher level spell slot open to be able to cast a spell of two levels lower at half of their normal caster level for "at will" purposes.

These spells are treated just as they are cast normally (provoking AoO, saves & spell resistance) except the spell slot isn't spent. Spell components and any XP costs must be spent each time the spell is cast, etc. The spell must be selected when the character normally prepares spells and cannot be changed until the requirements are met for recovering spells normally.

Examples:
A 7th level Wizard keeps a 4th level spell slot open to be able to cast Scorching Ray at will as a 3rd level caster (4d6 fire damage - 1 ray).
A 4th level Cleric keeps a 2nd level spell slot open to be able to cast Cure Minor Wounds at will as a 2nd level caster (heal 1d8+2 hit points).
