Premise: I spent some time last week reorganizing my books. I have two large sets of shelves, one in my home office and the other in my game room. My 1E books are in my game room and my 2E books are in my office for quick reference (planning games, running online, etc). I began to wonder if there were any 1E books I should go ahead and just add to my 2E collection in the other room? Like the Inner Sea World Guide for example. Your thoughts?

We're gearing up to play some Pathfinder Society and one of my players created a goblin ranger with an animal companion. I remembered the Rough Rider fear for goblins and pitched it to my player, who loved the idea of riding his wolf animal companion. Then I ran into a problem... Rough Rider says he can choose a wolf as an animal companion and gives bonuses if used as a mount. However, according to the animal companion rules, to ride an animal companion, the mount must be one size larger than the character. Goblins and wolves are both small, so he can't ride a wolf. My player was really stoked to ride his wolf animal companion but the rules don't seem to allow it. Am I missing something? Is there a way to allow this without breaking rules? I want to stick to RAW since we will be playing Pathfinder Society, no house rules. Your thoughts?
Quick question on the warpriest's aura. "Aura (Ex): A warpriest of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful deity has a particularly powerful aura (as a cleric) corresponding to the deity’s alignment (see detect evil on page 266 of the Core Rulebook for details)." The warpriest has the aura on at all times, but one of my players thought this also meant he had "detect evil" available at all times along with the aura. I believe this is just saying entities using a Detect [Insert] spell or ability would detect the warpriest. I don't want to take an ability away from a player he should rightfully have, so I am hoping someone here might have additional guidance for me.
I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before. If so, could someone provide me a link to the answer? I know "Specials" are written to be run as multiple table events (usually at conventions), but is there any reason I cannot run a special for my normal PFS group? Most of the players in my regular PFS group have not experienced the SPEC scenarios, and I am hoping there is a way I can run those scenarios for them.
As the title says, I want to make sure I am using Table 5-3 in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Play properly. I have a new character I have played once earning 1 prestige point (a.k.a. Fame 1). If I am reading Table 5-3 right, I need to wait until I have 5 Fame (500 gp max) to purchase anything not on the always available list, or on one of my chronicle sheets. Am I understanding this correctly?
First, I apologize if this is the wrong place for this topic. Gaming Paper has a kickstarter going to help fund a Pathfinder adventure module which will be distributed for Free RPG Day. I think this is a worthy project so I wanted to spread the word. Hello Paizo! I just wanted to thank you for reprinting the Rise of the Runelords modules for Gen Con. I love the Adventure Path but somehow The Skinsaw Murders (#2) was lost into the abyss. Prices on Ebay were way too high to be replaced by that method. So I hugely appreciate that you had copies at Gen Con this year. Keep up the good work! |
