Has anyone seen any news about when Paizo's events will be added to the Gen Con 2019 event catalog?

They are not posted by GenCon yet. There is a similar post on the PF2 side of the forums.

They did this last year too. It took a few days to a week before the Paizo events were up.

Gotcha, thank you.

Definitely makes planning a wishlist a tad onerous waiting for those to be posted.

Yeah but there is lots of time to make the wish list.

This is sloppy work. There are plenty of people who are willing to experiment with Starfinder that are looking in the event finder _now_. They will find Starfinder events run by individuals & book them. They will not see any SFS events, and will not even learn that Society play exists.

I went through the event finder and found 2+ options for gaming in every slot. Paizo is missing out on using the GenCon event finder as a massive advertising tool.

Same for Pathfinder Society, obviously.

Who are you blaming for this? Our events were submitted. It’s not Paizo’s fault they aren’t visible yet. We’ve had this same situation last two years. Trust me, the organizing committee is just as frustrated as you are with this.

If this is your first time going to GenCon then welcome and hold on to your frustration seat because nothing goes fast when you are dealing with sixty thousand plus fans!

If it is not then you should know by now that it takes time for GenCon to process/input all the events which number in the tens of thousands. Once the GenCon Leads/Organized Play give the schedules to GenCon it is out of their hands and they have no control as to when or how quickly then get put in the Event Catalogue.

If you are concerned that people don't/won't know the greatness of SFS/PFS then be an ambassador and spread the good word and tell them to have patience for another day or two so they can experience and enjoy organized play!

Bob, not sure if that question was directed at Skae or me?

To answer for myself, I'm not blaming anyone at Paizo. This sounds like a problem on the Gen Con side and Paizo is getting the short end of the stick.

Which sucks... Friends are already filling up their wishlists and now I need to work extra hard to get them to join me in Society games. :)

I have read Baldman Games (the DDAL organizers) are in the same boat.

I am pretty curious about the process because Mike with Gen Con is saying the deadline was not met. My history with paizo would have me believe them and the OP team but seems like communication is crossed somewhere.

To be fair, I don't think these quotes are mutually exclusive:

The deadline was not met in this case.

It reads like while the events are now submitted, they did not meet the deadline GenCon put forth to have the events listed with the original launch of the catalog.

That's not surprising, given the sheer scale of the coordination involved. Coordinating that all must be a nightmare.

That all being said, I'm hoping that Paizo's co-sponsor status allows them to be working tightly with the Gen Con team to make sure the events are up at least a few days before registration goes live.

Also: What deadline? Event submission was open until this past Saturday. While I'm sure there's some internal deadline for mega events, it would be more fair to have said we are working through posting events in the order recieved.

Over on the event hosting page on Gen Con's site, it states that early event registration closed in early February. Presumably, that was the cutoff for a guarantee of getting things listed in the catalog the day it opened.

I'm admittedly an avid checker of the Gen Con page, but it did appear to be adequately communicated throughout their site as to when early registration ends.

I know of/occasionally communicate with companies that failed to meet the deadline before, so yes, I was going with Paizo not moving fast enough.

Which Mike B seems to be corroborating?

What are you trying to accomplish with perpetuating a blame game here? It doesn't matter whose fault it is. The reality of the situation is that the events have been submitted and GenCon is working on getting them added to the catalog. They will be added when they are done.

CigarPete, I totally agree and hopefully, your comment was in response to Skae.

If the comments on both sides are accurate, both Paizo and Gen Con working through the process as intended. The launch of the catalog included events registered before the early registation deadline, and I'm sure they're doing their best to add the rest as fast as possible.

Agreed, CigarPete.
