He posted in discussion it is dead.

No problem and good luck.

Hope everythings all right.

Acrobatics: +1 skill, +2 40' movement 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Hearing the troll behind him finally gets Beau's feet working again as he runs across the slippery surface without missing a step.

Acrobatics +1 Skill +2 40' Movement 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 2 = 8

Beau moves cautiously across the wet log, glancing behind him for signs of the troll and goes tumbling into the water below.

Survival: +2 Skill, +2 40' Movement, +2 marked path 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12

Beau follows Wix's markings but still manages to miss the large game pass as he continues forward.

Darpan you rolled a d10 instead of a d20

longstrider only affects beau himself.

Survival: +2 Skill, +2 40' Movement1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10

Beau attempts to climb the trees but his small stature seems to be quite a hindrance falling a number of times. He begins to look for an easier path around the trees, instead finding Shane falling as he was and moves to ensure his companion is uninjured instead.

Damnit GM I'm a doctor not an acrobat :P
You totally jinxed us saying how well we were rolling.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Beau follows the others down the larger game path, doing well to take careful steps along the way. He pauses for a moment to look back to the inn to see if they are being pursued and loses his footing for a moment falling behind the others.

During the chase are there any bonuses or penalties for speed of a character?

If it does help the chase Beau would have cast longstride in the in before we left(it lasts an hour).

Beau will retake his walking staff from by the door giving one last look to Lord Klaustad, then follows the others to the back door.

Poor man, ta have ta kill yer own kin.

Thinking we failed that quest.

Knowledge Religion to know what she is doing and if it is dangerous1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 If Beau does not know anything dangerous about what she's doing he will allow her.

Beau approaches Lord Klaustad.

"Mi'lord it may not be much, but if'n yer willing I can cast a spell that will prevent the troll from attacking ye for a few moments.

If he accepts:
Beau will wait just before Klaustad steps out to distract the troll to cast Sanctuary on him.

"What if we let that donkey go. Whomever owns it must be here, I'm certain they'd rather give up its life than fight that beast. We untie the donkey and let it run ta make the troll give chase."

Beau makes sure he is speaking loud enough for all in the tavern to hear.

"It's possible the beasts just here for the horse, no need in provokin' it if'n we ain't got ta.

Desna keep us safe, guide this beast away from this house of rest that your travelers may stay safe on their journeys through your world.

Beau then sees Wix take a shot out the window at the beast.

"Wix the farmers said it'll avoid the big buildings, let's not provoke it!"

Beau pulls his starknife to his hand holding it ready continuing to pray inwardly.

Desna guide my hand by your chosen blade if'n ye choose to test your humble servant in this way give me the strength to bring honor and glory ta yer name.

Beau quickly moves to Alayna's side donning his cap once more. Having left his walking staff by the door, Beau reaches behind him ensuring his starknife is close at hand, just in case.

If'n that trolls here for her this could get ugly fast.

Klaustad wrote:

Beau can't help but feel himself slipping back into his old life in front of this noble. Beau drops his head speaking quietly. "Aye sir, we crossed the bridge she speaks of and encountered several human sized undead skeletons. We never saw what lurked under the bridge though we did hear its roar."

"No troll I know of can raise men from the dead." Beau states in a firm but quiet tone, mildly annoyed at being ignored.

Seems the nobles here have the same mind to halflings as Cheliax.

Beau hops up moving before the man, brandishing his cap once more in a bow, before speaking in hushed tone.

"Greetings Lord Klaustad, aye the night has found us quite busy, though it may not be wise ta discuss such things so publicly. A panicked people does no lord good. I myself would be more than glad ta be of service ta ye tonight if'n ye'll have me. Anything ta keep the roads safe, though one night is all I can promise as we've already agreed ta see the good lady here ta safety."

Not to mention he did not come in until invited. Thank god for holy symbols at least Beau will survive. >.>

The down side of character knowledge vs player knowledge.

@Wix I actually thought the vampire thing myself though I still fully expect those men at the other table to be necromancers if not vampires or something evil.

Beau, having warmed himself at the fire takes a seat with the others once the soup is served. Upon taking a taste of the soup and makes a face at the overpowering taste. Beau digs his backpack out removing one of his rations and tears the small loaf of bread into small pieces sprinkling it in the soup to absorb the garlic taste. He then removes the curious looking box filled with herbs and sprinkles a bit of sugar into the soup sampling the dish now and finding it pleasantly corrected.

Might as well be poison bad as this tastes. Where did this "Jack" learn ta cook.

Mi'lady Vedellic, where is it ye'd like us to escort ye again. Is there somewhere safe or someone you trust ta stay with nearby. Surely a lady of yer standing does not travel alone for far.

GMIliad:
With Beau's background, he spent much of his time as a slave in the kitchen so I'm trying to ensure that part of his character is showing. If you've been wondering about that.

Ensuring someone is still keeping an eye on Alayna, Beau will make his way to the fireplace, slipping his cap off and leaving it to dry on the mantle, taking a few minutes to dry off and warm up by the pleasant flames.

Beau hesitantly glances to Alayna. Trying to speak where the party can hear but she cannot, hoping to keep from worrying her.

"We need ta, even if we dun like it. We can't let a lady such as Madam Vedellic stay in rain and woods. Keep yer eyes open though. That name alone gives me a bad feeling, especially with necromancers and undead about."

What kind of name is that, certainly not very inviting.

"Seems ta be our only choice out here."

Beau will stay with Alayna walking backwards watching the bridge. Beau will stay within 5 feet of her.

Beau moves to Alayna putting himself between her and the bridge.

"Don't run off inta the woods! We'll protect you!"
"Shane don't let that horse run off, we need ta protect it too!"

Move action, move between her and the bridge.
Standard Action, Aid another to grant Alayna +2 to AC.

@Petracleus
"My pleasure friend, ye've only ta ask."

@Alayna
"Well Madam Vedellic, it is not much be we do have a horse ye could ride. He's a pack horse, but it would be an affront ta have one of yer station walking. Please allow my companions and I ta guide ye to yer destination."

Diplomacy Check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Beau steps to the lady to inspect her wounds as well as guide her to the horse.
Heal Check to determine what caused her injuries 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Is she still injured or did my channel fix her fully?

Yatta, glad to have you back!

The problem is, he is not a roleplayer, at all. The rest of my group is. He gets tired of the character after a few months. Granted he only switches about twice a year but its still complex.

Thus a complex background does no good as I would have to craft it for him, I've tried to draw him into roleplay but hes just not interested. It doesn't cause an issue at the table as hes content to wait while everyone else does roleplay (we've had multiple times where we've gone a month or two IRL in a 4 hour a week game without a single combat) and he doesn't mind. The rest of my group has the issue of fitting him in, as "why are we bringing this guy we don't even know who he is".

Wix I thought the exact same thing (out of character at least).

"Of course mi'lady, first let me attend to your wounds."

Beau steps back ensuring both the lady and Petracleus are within 30 feet, then channels positive energy to heal.

All living creatures within 30 feet gain back 1d6 ⇒ 6 hit points.

Beau moves up using his small stature to reach under the wagon and pull whomever from under the wagon.
Strength check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Beau drops his backpack off his shoulders and pulls a strip of cloth from it. After pouring a bit of fresh water on the cloth it easily tears into a makeshift bandage. Beau immediately sets to wrapping and covering the wound on his left arm.

Gods this hurts! He thinks to himself as he ties the wrap tightly on his arm. I have ta bear with it. There's no telling how many undead lurk out here and I'm already running low on the energy to deal with them.

Hearing the concern of his traveling companions Beau offers up a cheerful smile. It looks a lot worse than it is, I can barely feel it.
Bluff1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Petracleus you are injured as well, do you need aid? I'm well trained both on mundane and divine healing.

Agreed as sucky as our dice rolls have been we've not taken a lot of damage.

Damage sucked that time.

Beau takes a deep breath focusing his mind once more to the familiar spell, unleashing another burst of butterflies at the skeletons.

Beau channels energy to harm undead Will save DC12 for half damage. All the skeletons are in range.
1d6 ⇒ 1

Ooc skeletons have damage reduction so it won't be as impressive after but we can hope. You just needed Desna to guide your hands.

Beau Init 17

Beau glances at his throbbing arm.
"Focus your mind and the pain will pass. Remember your training. Focus on the problem ahead of you drown out everything else."

As the last skeleton moves into range Beau unleashes a burst of positive energy. Dozens of butterflies of light, flutter out from Beau and land on the skeletons damaging them as they land.

After unleashing the Energy, Beau slides back another step, sure that will get the skeletons attention on him.

Standard Action, Beau casts Channel Positive Energy to damage undead. Will Save DC12 for half damage. Skeletons 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 are all in range and will be affected if they are undead. (I'm assuming they're playing possum.)
1d6 ⇒ 5

Move Action. Beau moves another 5' back diagonal, Moving directly behind Wix.

Don't forget your +1 to attack rolls from Bless.

Beau will Channel once they're all in range.

Updated Map hope that's ok

Beau - Init (?)

Beau stumbles back quickly recovering his courage. He takes a cautions step back, out of reach of the skeleton in front of him, and begins to chant.

Sweet Song of the Spheres, grant us your divine favor that we may return these weary travelers to their final journey.

Beau takes a 5 foot step back and casts Bless.
+1 to All attack rolls and saves against fear for 1 minute.

My mistake, I thought their action was the getting up.

"That's certainly the stories I've always heard Petracleus. Maybe it's a survival instinct thing. If your life is truely in danger of death it will do whatever it can to save ye.'

"Agreed Petracleus, if'n ye want to reach the end ye gotta walk the road.

Beau settles back into the rear of the marching line pausing to glance back one last time just before the body is out of sight.

"I'm sorry we couldn't keep ye safe. Monster or not I wish ye'd let us try to help ye."

heading the same way we are or opposite way is what Beau was wondering

"Shane I've heard that druids are expert trackers. If'n ye don't mind can ye see which way her attackers went? I'd rather we don't run into our friends from yesterday again."
