"Something is happening outside, didn't you hear the man." he says gesturing to Renlo. "I bring out the worst in everyone eh? Yes five short days and I've managed to bring a whole village to it's knees through depraved shared dreaming, I'm certainly most impressed with myself." Bataar said sarcastically. "We must either step in to try and stem this madness quickly, or be killed by the mad mob that is undoubtedly forming based on this innkeeper's behavior. I have observed plenty of others in the dream in the days since I've been here." Bataar is wary that the Aes Sedai has not chimed in on his situation. Perhaps, she truly doesn't care. Wouldn't that be the grandest stroke of luck He looks at Marik's sap, "Very good, maybe a quick rap and nap will bring him back to his senses. Hopefully most of you will take this as proof that I don't wantonly slay anyone who vaguely annoys me."

Startled at the man's sudden lunge at him, Bataar slid his chair back standing up swiftly and gracefully, his back now against the wall. He made no move for his weapon, the innkeeper appeared unarmed and all in this room were on edge and likely looking for an excuse to kill him. "Ho! Sir! Easy, I've no quarrel with you!" He shouted. Now that he thought about it, This blokes wife is far more attractive then him, quite a physical mix match. He remembered her fondly for a moment, before he had to give into the sickening conclusion he had been afraid of. I was right, something, wrong, is happening in this town, some sort of shared dreaming experience. Oh light, how many husbands are going to try to kill me in the street now? How many will run in fear? "Just think of how those dreams end!" he shouted at the charging innkeeper, setting into a fighting stance but keeping his sword, undrawn. Usually with me killing this guy or whoever happened to be attacking me. Bataar folded his hands in front of him and let out a sigh. "First of all, I am no Darkfriend, I was merely in the bar just like the rest of you when the expedition was brought forth by Marick. As far as not having a weapon drawn, not all weapons are visible, and not all steel and iron. It was quite clear to me that he was about to strike one of you down with the One Power, likely Tenora, as she posed the biggest threat to him, or myself if he had been able to identify me as the other male channeler in the room. It is a good thing, that I found him out first and moved to stop the devastation that could have ensued." Bataar took a breath. "Did I know for sure that he would channel with malice, no. I merely felt him seize the Source in anger. And I am keenly, personally, familiar with the danger that represents."

Yeah, I'm planning too come clean, Bataar is concerned he'll go crazy too. Also there's always a chance that Tenora will try to arrest him on the spot, Red or no.

Bataar can't but notice that everyone is very tense. He smiles as Korin takes a seat obviously meant to block him from escaping. "Please. I'll not attempt to flee from the whole lot of you. I let you corner me in a stone cage. I struck down that oaf because he was far more dangerous than any of you could tell. I suspect he is a shadow friend, and I'd be curious to ask around and see if the folks he "led" into the blight ever returned. As to why I tried to kill him, I acted in preemptive defense of you all as he was about to cause serious injury or perhaps death to at least one of you if not several." Bataar keeps his hands still and relaxes in the seat, leaning back. "You're welcome."
Male Human(Kandori) Armsan 1 | Woodsman 1 | Wilder 3
Bataar kept his arms relaxed at his side, actively NOT tensing and keeping his hands away from his sword. He motions his head to the door behind him. "I'm sure you're right Master Elek, into the Bulwark then." Slowly and rather nonchalantly, he turns his back to the group and begins to slowly walk up the three steps of the patio. Inside he nods to the innkeeper, inquiring about a private room. I doubt they are full, it's still the middle of the day. Once in the room with the door closed, He will take a seat at the table and look expectantly at the group. "So he lived eh? Likely to the detriment of some other poor souls down the road."
Male Human(Kandori) Armsan 1 | Woodsman 1 | Wilder 3
Sitting outside the Bulwark, Bataar had never felt so uneasy in his life. Then men he slew in his dreams lived in this town and looked at him with suspicion. The ladies he entertained in his sleeping mind looked at him knowingly. This is beginning to take a toll on my psyche. Or perhaps the madness is gripping me already. he thought ruefully. He sees the expedition entering the town. Jumping up from the rain barrel he had been sitting on, he strode down the road to greet them. "Ho! Companions, how does the trip fare you so far?" he asked raising his hand to signal them.

I work in an Ikea, and I'd like to not have to work, I don't think it's particularly lazy, as I'm closely exposed to easily several hundred to a thousand people a day. And people often travel from out of state to get to the store. I don't know, I just feel extra at risk, know what I mean?

Spoiler: Bataar still grasped the One Power, he let the guard grasp his hilt tapped it with his finger as the man drew it free. He wove, air and minute strands of water, cleaning the blade as it was drawn free leaving the inside of his scabbard bloody, but the blade clean as fresh driven snow. "Are we going somewhere or is that sufficient?" he asks the guard.

Spoiler: What do I do? Run for the gate? Start a fire with a power? No these men don't deserve that. I will bide my time and escape if needed when the moment is right.
"Sure thing sir, I can step down. Whether or not I unsaddle my horse doesn't really seem like anyone's business but my own, but you're the guard." Batarr climbed down from his horse. "What's this about sir?"

Spoiler: Oh light, what do I do? Run for the gate, try to fight? Start a fire with the power? Bataar wouldn't risk harming a child or an innocent guard just doing their job.
He nodded and smiled, dismounting Naan. "Sure thing sir, what can I help you with."

Spoiler: "No dicing tonight my friend, everyone talking and not betting, I stuck to ale, and as to wear I was, hmm, can't quite recall the name, it's just a ways back. Left a while back, had to take a spell to brush down, feed water and saddle ol' Naan here." Bataar patted his horse affectionately, smiling at the guard. "I'll try the south side taverns for dice tomorrow. Hopefully find a friendly game or two."

Spoiler: "A murder in Fal Dara? Not a common thing. As for me, I'm headed to my camp about two miles north of the city. Never minded sleeping out of doors. Rather keep my marks for drinks and dice you know." He flashes his most winning smile at the guard.
Male Human(Kandori) Armsan 1 | Woodsman 1 | Wilder 3
Blood and ashes! They can't leave well enough alone. Since these men weren't about to strike down an innocent person with the Power, Bataar had no intention of attempting to kill them. He complied and waited for them to approach him. "Good evening gentlemen, how can I help you? he asked doing his best to appear nonchalant.

Clattering down the hallway of the inn, Bataar through open the back door and fled to the stable. He grabbed the reigns of Naan his horse. A calm mare, sturdy though not exceptionally fast, he mounted quickly and kicked her up to a brisk walk. Best not to be seen in to much a hurry. Just ride casual. Turning north and looking as inconspicuous as he could Bataar headed for the outskirts of Fal Dara.

Moving stealthily as he could directly behind the channeler as he drew his sword in a smooth motion, Bataar attempted to assassinate the man. Surely a darkfriend. He drove his sword at the man's heart from behind. Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Oh no. No, no, no. What do I do? Someone else had the power, a man. An unexpected turn to be sure. Bataar thought wildly, his hand resting on the pommel of his sword, as causally as he could. He scanned the room. Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
He had to find the channeler. What would he do when he discovered them. The man likely didn't deserve to killed right out. At least, that's what Bataar hoped others would think about him if he were in that situation. He could barely pay attention to the Southerner. The man seemed to have a flair for the dramatic and at least wise enough to realize that he wouldn't last the day in the Blight without experienced help. "I've no doubt you believe what you've been told Master Marik. I think we question for several reasons. First, no one just, expeditions into the Blight, Malakier in particular. Folks far enough south tend to think we make Trollocs up for some reason. So a perhaps we would like to make sure you understand that the danger is very real and not at all exaggerated. Also, the details of the arrangement seem strange to me, weapons or no, it is unlike the Tower to allow any Power based items to remain outside of their 'care'. It is possible that we are being led into a trap. I don't know any of you well enough to know why someone would want to trap you, nor do I mean to cast aspersions on your sponsors. I believe the group is just verifying that everything is up to snuff. Regardless, as of this morning, Fal Dara is too crowded and I was headed north anyway. So I'd be happy to accompany you." Waiting a few moments and swallowing the rest of his drink along with as much of his fear as he could stomach, he motioned for another and casually(for him) made his way near the Aes Sedai In a volume that only she should hear he said "Tenora Sedai was it? Bataar Rogozin. It surprises me that an Aes Sedai is free to just come on an expedition at the drop of a hat. Are not you and your Warder here on business? Regardless, something doesn't feel right about this newcomer, the guide, I can't put my finger on it' he lied, ' but I think he may have malicious intent. Call it a gut feeling." Yeah, no one ended up dead, even though I'm sure in the books they all would've killed each other right out. It was indeed an intense bit of fighting followed by an even more intensive bout of questioning each others ideologies. It ended well and was some of my most favorite writing that I've ever done or participated in on this site :) And to be fair, we didn't come in swinging, everyone involved had the ok so this is definitely what the character would do discussion. It was my instinct to role play him to the side of the party asap but in the end it just made no sense for the character, so conflict was had. Ahh. good times.

"I'd wager most present have had their fair share of blight excursions as we're mostly Borderlanders here. And Shenarians aren't That likely to eat you. Also you'll know that no one will take percentages for this type of danger, if all but two people die, your giving them eighty and you'd have failed you're job. Only fair way is equal split after the tower claim." Bataar said to the newcomer. "Not that I've made any sort of commitment." he hastily added. He still clung to the power like the safety of a mother's skirt. These seemed like decent people, but even so, in the borderlands, the nicest of people would put down a male wilder no questions asked. And the Aes Sedai, Bataar didn't like his chances with her. Although, if I could recover weapons or artifacts of power, it's possible that I could buy safe passage into the Dragon's army. he thought.

Bataar nods with a stoic face to the men who approach him at the bar. They were to close for comfort. Better to act calm than cause a scene or suddenly flee. Looks suspicious. he thought to himself. As the Aes Sedai joined them, his hackles stood up and a cold sweat formed on his back under his coat. In preparation he didn't move, but embraced the One Power. It raged into him like he had stood in a valley before a river released from a dam. The wall of energy heightening his every sense and making him sick to his stomach. He grimaced but gave no other outward sign. "You gentlemen would be wise to leave tower business to the tower." he said quietly. The older man who approached looked friendly enough. "And your's as well sir." The Tar Valon agent prattled on about being friends with all kinds of Aes Sedai. A fool or a liar. Aes Sedai don't befriend men, except to enslave them or order them about. Even among their own, they likely have mutually beneficial acquaintances other than true friends. he thought ruefully.

Bataar listened carefully to her rumors. North, Red. Mention of Brown, possibly a Yellow in this very bar. I shouldn't have stopped here. "Thank you kindly, if we keep the ale flowing I can definitely spare an hour to have some fine company such as yourself." Bataar winked at her and did his best to look jovial. Only when she turned away did the worry touch the corner of his eyes. Dragon to the south. Waayyy south. I'll never get there alive. A thousand leagues of witch country. Casting a glance at the man who sat next down next to him. "Hail friend, what brings you up to the borderlands? Tired of the warmth and politics of the Southlands?" Bataar chuckled half heartedly. He hoped his well found concern with this tavern, now bordering on fear didn't show in his voice. "Couldn't help but notice all the tower talk at the table, Tar Valon meddling all the way up in little Fal Daran inn's now." He pitched it as a light hearted joke, but couldn't keep the slightest hint of a man being testing and threatening out of his voice. Catching the innkeep's eye again, he signaled for her to bring a drink to his new companion. "Name's Bataar friend, a no account Kandori. And you?"
Male Human(Kandori) Armsan 1 | Woodsman 1 | Wilder 3
Keeping a wary eye on the group and especially the woman. Bataar nods after feeling the weight of his coin purse. "That would do nicely madam. I've been on the road a right spell. Six months or so now I'd say. Hear anything of note from travelers lately. Trouble or comings and goings in the parts near by?"
Male Human(Kandori) Armsan 1 | Woodsman 1 | Wilder 3
A Kandori man enters the inn. Young, but weary enough to appear older by way of tiredness. He is in commoner clothes, dusty and worn from many a night on the ground and days on the road. He has a plain sword at his side and keeps his dark cloak and hood pulled up. Glancing around the inn. Bataar breathes in the smell of food hungrily. It had been a day and a half since he had eaten anything. The patrons looked friendly enough. Until he saw her. A beautiful woman with a yellow fringed shawl. Beneath his cowl his face paled. It was all he could do to keep from running right out the door. Deciding that would be far more suspicious than just having a drink, he made his way to the bar, giving the woman a wide berth. Perhaps she just likes yellow? he thought with wry mirth. He had never been very lucky. "Ale and food." He said softly to the bartender. He sat at the end of the bar and tried to his best to look invisible.
Thanks phantom. Elek, yeah I was thinking more of using the delve for minerals ability in secret, "Oh hey I happened to find a new vein kind of thing. Also, for favored enemy is it ok to have "Shadowspawn" or do I have to specify, "Trolloc" for example. EDIT: Now looking at Renlo's sheet, I believe it to be individual enemies.
