The Mad Hoppper wrote: My chronicle looks good, and the game is reported under my PC. So the encounter with the hand was to withstand whatever the duration there was? We could have run in circles during that time?
Considering it seemed able to strike at a good range. I am going to guess the hand had some stupid level of reach. (possibly the entire map.. .God troll after-all). Since it specifically called out Bardyth cutting off a finger, and then the hail flailing like it did. I suspect that there was more mechanics than JUST waiting it out. We just happened to do the earlier portions so well that "wait out the clock" was an easy option.

It was a good battle and a great set-piece. I can also imagine that hand battle going a lot worse if it stuck around more. So great work everyone
Field Commision, Underworld at level-1 instead of -2. So DC 23
8 days of Underworld Lore: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 bleh... Well, not a Crit fail
Field Commissioned 4 days of Underworld Lore: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 and a pass
combined total 11.2gp
Bardyth manages to find some 'lost' items, and ensures they are found by the proper local authorities... But fewer than he hoped.

Bardyth stands up and gets ready to swing again... And then notices the hand is gone... As he shrinks back to normal size he will poke the ground where the hole was, looking disappointed. "That's it...? THAT was all the God of Trash had to offer?... I am disappointed..."

pretty sure he said the ring faded at end of spirit battle. Not described it returning with the hand
Bardyth turns, and uses Sudden Charge to get back into the melee and swing.

ooo, nat 20! I move the hand 5 feet deeper into the hole as my critical effect... doubt it changes anything, Demon God and all, but doing it anyway, "cus thats what giant halflings do"
And then Renews some Vigor for 7 temp hp.
2 action sudden charge, 1 action renew Vigor, 1 Haste action strike. End turn

will save: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
Bardyth is seriously annoyed that after all this work. Not only is Urxhel is still showing up afterall, it had the audacity to wait for him to start to move away first. So annoyed he manages to pass that will save and thus only get slightly nicked from it. good bye temp hp and 1 normal hp before it even gets a turn. Otherwise my stats look good. As an aside, if a hero point is to be handed out from that last battle. This is a 'Just in case' if. I gotta nominate Herondal for the first time I seen a BBEG nat 1 a hideous laughter. Great spell use, great scene to use it on, and great roleplaying with the jokes to boot.

Does Bardyth think trolls are his friends? There are still five trolls here.
Gm box text said, quote, "the remaining trolls are imolated in the explosion" so I thought they are all dead.. otherwise, heck no not friends. And would happily murder them.

... does bardyth rage end with no enemies around? Cus if so... won't be able to Rage again for a long while and will be fatigued... and I don't like that ominous "unknown happening next in one round" statement... or are there still 'enemies' fighting our allies from the original box text, still in view

Bardyth growls out simply, "Exterminate!", and if you blinked just right, the fire makes it look like his head flashes in time with the word. He then swings on the spirit that is prone and flanked.

I am uncertain how the 10 damage for Bardyth was calculated. Listed damage was 22. I failed the reflex save, so still 22 damage. Five of it removed from ring of fire resistance, brings it to 17 damage taken. My temporary hp from Rage is 11 (only 7 when I use Renewed Vigor, as it provides a lesser amount of temp hp than normal rage.) So my full HP should have taken 6.
Bardyth will user Sudden Charge to rapidly charge across the battlefield, ending in a flank with Saliss, and triggering any AoO type reaction the Ravener may have. Then takes that swing as part of the activity at the end of the movement.

Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28 Bardyth is shocked as much by an undead dragon thing as he is to the lack of giant-kin to slaughter. Huffing in annoyance, and maybe slight fear, he then rages, becomes larger himself, and then rushes forward, winding up slightly ahead and north of Pip, but well behind Salliss and Hopper. Spending two actions before moving on such a long-distance map... Oh well, I suspect I'll want that size and reach for what's coming.
Rage, Giant's Stature, Stride. End turn

Fortitude: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
Bardyth is un-phased by this.
Barbarian Juggernaut ability makes successes on Fortitude a crit success

Trolls are specifically mentioned. Bardyth is itching to go destroy them. It takes every ounce of self-control he has to not rush off alone.

Bardyth will look to those he leads, "We travel at my speed. I do not intend to look back. If you get separated, turn around and return here. It is safer than trying to catch up... Move!"
Bardyth will lead the way to the metal poles, staying mostly true to his word. (If one of those in his group stumbles slightly, he might pause for a moment to 'adjust his gear for the climb' but only once per individual.) He then leads the way up the rock, working to remove the poles one at a time with exacting precision.
Ritual Mission 3: Poles
Athletics: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Athletics: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
Let me know if either of those fail. If so, I'll hero point 'em.

Yeah. Poles does well for me... otherwise my highest bonus is 12 for Signature.
As for Pip in Occulltism... "Occult is a group of people drinking kool-aid, right?" Lol

So I wa right. Strong spellcaster. Very glad of my reach and AoO. Also, great making DD a Minion. So it trying to get out of Opportunity range, and command DD, meant no spells.

Clearly the value of law is heavily appreciated in a region that was beset by so many demons from the Worldwound.

Whelp.. .who needs money anyways, right?
I agree the fights were fun, and everything well played. Thanks all around.
I am going to guess that last fight ended soo fast because of a combination of things. I suspect, as a spirit, it normally has really really good reistance, but ghost-touch countered it. Further, the height+reach+AoO was probably a very strong counter to it. As I got from it's first actions that it was a spellcaster of some sort. Relying on Dreng to be the melee of the battle. Goind to guess Pip's call for Good Damage, and the disrupt undead from herondal, as well as the pour in of aspiration points, all made it much easier.
Finally, I suspect it was not as tough as it could have been. Due to the number of debuffs that might have happened from the stone fey. I'm imagining how much worse that battle could have gone if half the party was Slowed and Drained. Also, if Bardyth had crit failed on that possession roll at the time, and how things might have gone <.< ... And I think there was some type of debuff we saved from during the fight at the base of the statue. Also, if Bardyth had been the one to step on the drandlestick and dropped his glaive... <.< talk about back-tracking XD
In short, I suspect this battle was taking into the amount of potentially lost resources, and we just managed them really, really well. Hence it going by so quick.

Bardyth will poke the air where the spirit was only moments before... Looking disappointed that he didn't get to stab it more. He then notices the newcomers, that dreng is himself again, and what all else is going on... Shrinking back to his normal size, Bardyth then shrugs, funds a good place to sit, and starts to sharpen and push his glaive. The latter proving to be difficult to determine how well he has done, considering it is still glowing brightly.

Yeah. It's unfortunate, but Inspire Courage has the verbal trait in 2e... so unless they ever release a feat a la Intimidating Glare for IC. It always involves sound.

Oops, I believe you are right. Not sure if you included that in my AoO, attack and damage last round. If so, one less to hit.. .If it still hit, no inspire couorage damage, but would have gotten the good damage from pip sine the AoO didn't apply until after she took that action. so, my damage roll stays the same.
Modifying my attack and damage rolls for this turn, now, to remove IC from them

Bardyth Strides to the East some, flanking DD with herondal. Then swings away on the spirit. And remembering the 1 Inspire Courage damage and 1 Good damage for this that I forgot on my previous AoO. XD
Glaive: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Slashing, Ghost Touch, Cold Iron, Good: 2d8 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (8, 6) + 16 + 1 = 31
deadly d8: 1d8 ⇒ 1
He then swings again.
Glaive, map: 1d20 + 17 - 5 ⇒ (8) + 17 - 5 = 20
Slashing, Ghost Touch, Cold Iron, Good, forceful: 2d8 + 16 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1, 8) + 16 + 1 + 2 = 28
deadly d8: 1d8 ⇒ 4
I'd Be surprised if that one doesn't miss. XD. End turn

Bardyth is too angry to heed Salliss' warning, and his stated AoO action stands as is. let's hope I don't end up crit failing against whatever curse it does. XD

Looking through those details. I would argue that since darkness specifically calls out that it can only suppres magical light of its level or less. Magical light of a higher level shouldn't be affected at all. Including forcing to only dim light. The lack of a counteract means the spells don't flat out turn each other off.. so if the light spell moves through the area of darkness, then leaves, it would light it up then the darkness would remain after it moves past..
Since counteracting specifically ends all affects of the defeated spell, even if the counteracting affect leaves the area.. counteract. Whereas suppressing is never self defined, it is referenced in several things, and always as a merely temporary removal of the effect.
(Since light spell creates bright light then dim light. Removing the bright light reads as a partial suppression to me). That is merely how I interpret those words though, and can work with the assumption of dim light instead if that is how you go with it... it would just mean I will need to make that concealment check for my AoO, and deal with the actions to activate my goggles.

@Gm ZD. I was short time earlier and wanted to help things move forward in case I didn't get a chance to come back today. so I didn't scroll back to check. I did not include the +1 hit and damage from Herondal's Inspire Courage on that AoO. If it matters.

I am fine for the good Damage. Worst case, I am 95% sure this thing is evil. So at least 1 bonus damage that ain't going to care about any resistances it has.
