'It is best that not much is said on where the children were taken and what happened to them. It is enough that the children and their parents know of what has happened and they will have those memories for the rest of their lives. It will do no good having other people passing whispers and stretching stories and only make the children's lives that much harsher.' 'Further, such talk just serves the dark powers by giving strength to the fears they try to generate. Where the children were held is burned and cleansed. It will no longer serve its former owners. The past is cleansed in fire and we move forward knowing the past will not be repeated.' 'This talk of a dragon is the exact thing that I refer to. People get a whisper and make up taller tales by the hour. There was no dragon. The evil was nothing more then the desires of a few twisted men and their sub-ordinates working for money. It doesn't take a dragon to do evil. It only takes mortals with perverted hearts.'

'Then let us pack up what we have gained here. The freed soldiers can report back to Berregost. They'll need more food and rest then we can supply. They'll likely want to try and report events to their higher authorities and we can tell them to give word to the priests and mages of the town. I'm sure the Morning Lord's temple will give them comfort and pass along any word they hear.' 'For us then the open road as we find more word on what evil is brewing that would send slavers to capture a girl.' Badger will pack gear to head for the town mentioned by the slaver and in the letter for the kidnapping of Evilbane's daughter.
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
'But what of the widow? If we press on from here then do we leave her to fate's hands to press on alone?' 'There is also the course to the village that did send message and barter for Evilbane's daughter.' 'I know there is much work for us to do but we need to decide which to do first. We also need to decide upon supplies. Do we have enough food, potions and scrolls to follow this bat winged orc now or should we resupply first?'
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
'The children have been found and the ones that were still alive were rescued. The others have been given a proper burial. I am sorry that I don't have the full list of names.' 'Captain Frakes took the Flaming Fists that were in Beregost and moved on to report. We've been working to clear up any of the troublesome groups that remained in the area.' 'We appreciate any of the good word that you are willing to tell on our part. We've been gathering as much information as we can on the cult that has been working to sacrifice people. We still have much to learn and appreciate hearing anything that you heard while the ceremonies were being performed.' Knowledge: Religion trying to further figure out what Goddess is behind this. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Looks like not getting any useful intel from this fellow on the subject, hehe.

Badger looked at the armour and noted, 'Looks like our messengers are not going to be carrying word much farther then this camp. So much for trying to get word out to the other towns on the backs of these Flaming Fists. I'm afraid we appear to late for Captain Frakes. Turning to Mal, 'I understand if you feel that you have a destiny to confront but I'm not much on playing by some demented God's rules. The Forest Lord teaches that trickery is as valuable as heart when facing a conflict. There is nothing that you need to do that you can't do it with us accompanying you to make sure that you have a fair trial by whatever fates that you choose. And if you wish me to stack the deck in your favour then I'm more than sure that I can help find you a way to do it.'

Badger feels the thump on his hide armour from the Half-Orc but the hide and inner padding deflect and absorb the blow from biting and inflicting any lasting harm. The Half-Orc pulling so close gives Victor a good chance to set his teeth into the thigh of the humanoid while Fox rips at a hand of the Half-Orc.

Badger and his hounds surround the Orc but none of them seem able to connect with the orc despite attacking from all sides.

Round 1, Init 18 Badger points the blade Evilbane forward and charges along with his dogs. Fox and Hound trained to fight with their larger sibling circle the prey while Victor and Badger ride down upon the Orc. Badger move and attack: Fox and Hunter will do a double move action this round to get to positions B4 and D4. The dog at B4 will set up the Flank for Victor and Badger. Badger and Victor will ride to D2 (50' move) and attack the Orc. As a swift action Badger activates Judgement of Destruction giving +1 damage. Since people are following my lead on this then I will do my best. Place Agathon at G -3, Badger at G -5 on Victor, Fox at G -6, Hound at H -5, Solaria with TzeTing at I -3. If that doesn't quite work for you DM Aron then move us to where you feel is appropriate but generally keep the same sort of spacing.
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
'We'll follow your lead and rush the rest. Agathon on lead with me and Solaria following behind with our mounts and companions. Mal will support with his bow and watch our backs. We'll drive an arrow wedge into them with TzeTing or my hounds helping to flank any that form on Agathon.'
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
'Yes, with these five dead, there shouldn't be much left to give us challenge. If we move well then we should rescue the prisoners and still be able to make it back to town before midnight.' 'As for what the fellow said before tossing his bones on the spit, it was to say that Dragar has already gone along with a orc half-dragon. They've headed north into the hills where giants lay on their way to the large human city which I can only guess is Baldur's gate. He also promised that a Beastmaster will chew on my leg.' 'I have to agree with you Mal, if the Dark Goddess keeps employing troops that slit their own throats then we shouldn't have to do much more than walk in the right direction to clear up this mess.' 'Let's toss the other bodies in the pit and toss oil and wood upon the lot to make sure they're truly burnt to a crisp. I'd hate to think that some follower of the Goddess might come by later and raise these bodies up cause further problems in our wake.'

In Orcish:
'I hate waiting for villains to show up like bloat flies at a funeral. Tell me where this Dragar is and he can try to feast on my spleen now. If you don't speak quick, my dogs will use your nose for a play toy and your ears for kibble. Then we'll release you for the other orcs to laugh at an humiliate as they point out to their cublings the one that had his tusk stolen by a gnome.' Intimidate 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Badger gibbers in Orcish

'He speaks of some sort of leader called Dragar the Flesh-Eater. It sounds like more the name for a ghoul then for an Orc. Maybe the ghoul that was in the temple that we purified earlier when we freed the children. This Orc might not be up on current events.' 'He's threatening us that Dragar is a priest of the Goddess and will get revenge for his current suffering in a suitable way for one called Flesh-Eater.'

Badger seeing the Orc contained in the Pit and the other orc fleeing orders his dogs into motion. They ride hard and fast to get in front of the Orc where Badger can remind the Orc that he can't flee faster then Badger and the dogs can run. Round 4. Double move to get in front of the orc without going through any AoO zones (not really required as he is Withdraw action but safety first). Badger on the dogs has 100' of move on a double move and the Orc is 50' away. Moving to squares -D 7, 8, and 9. Badger having shown superiority in movement and companions having shown superiority in arms attempts to intimidate the man to surrender. Badger, holding the sword Evilbane barks out the word for surrender in Orcish. Intimidate 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Badger moves up to the edge of the pit on Victor with Fox and Hunter beside him. Badger trusts the three dogs to guard the pit's edge and keep the orc in the pit. Badger focuses his call to the Forest Lord on hoping to distract one of the orcs that is attacking Agathon. Move on Victor to G9. Hunter to G8 and Fox to G7. Casting Daze on any Orc that is fighting Agathon DC 12 Will save to resist.
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
Badger seeing his friend Mal is next to an Orc decides to try and give him a few moments of extra safety. Badger calls to the Forest Lord and invokes a charm upon the Orc. Surprise Round Casting spell Daze DC 12 Will on Orc D7. Success means it won't take any action during Round 1 but is not helpless for AC. It does mean that if Mal fires an arrow from next to it that it won't trigger an AoO. Following the first surprise attacks, Badger pulls a target towards him by again calling upon the Forest Lord. Round 1 as a Standard Action will cast Command on one of the Orcs that is still standing. I will then as a Move action have Victor move us to I4. The Command word will be Approach with DC 13 Will. The aim is to call one of the Orcs into the centre of the dogs triggering AoO from its movement.

Stealth roll 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 Badger was trained in the art of the hit and hide. It was a standard Gnome warrior fighting techniques since attempting to out run larger humanoids was normally doomed to failure. Badger executes the maneuver smoothly letting the boughs of the trees and bushes break up his appearance. He is quickly a memory that only a well trained warrior might spot with considerable effort.
Male Gnome Inquisitor 2
Stealth is +10 but we prepared an ambush so you can figure the group took 10 or took 20 in preparation. Mal or I would aid to provide an extra +2 on any of the other's stealth checks beyond what taking 10 or 20 would provide. This is a repeat of the basic goblin plan that we did.

I'm fine with trusting my Scouting/Pathfinder skills to make some sort of stake trap, trip rope, or other thing (don't really have the materials of heavy clay or good saw for making a big log or earth ball dead fall trap). I do have Profession (Monster Hunter) +8 if that helps. So, what fly has come into our lair?

'Asking a Gnome if they have any illusions is like asking a Dwarf if they have a beard or an elf if they have pointed ears. 'Course, I have illusions.' Badger will attempt to help direct the group in constructing some punji style style stakes and some thorny bramble to form a bit of a barrier as a fall back position if the group gets more response then they want. Badger will then attempt to use his Ghost Sound to make the sound of some fighting and screaming. He'll also use Dancing Lights placed behind a tree trunk so it's glow will look like someone is hiding. This will be placed as the 'bait' to attract the orcs. Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Bluff w bonus for Thuggery 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 Group will be directed as Mal suggested in a similar line as the Goblins with Badger at the one end and Agathon at the other.

Badger confers with a bird and then sends it off. 'Bad news and worse news. The orcs appear to have been trading. This means there are less humans in their village and they now have some new shiny weapons and armour. The tracks for the humans appear to be old going this way but the orcs are more recent.' 'What would you like to do? Try to move closer and draw a few out or just try to press hard for the throat? Either way, we should set up some sort of trip line or a small barricade of brush and thorns that we can hunker down behind if we get pressed and need some place to fall back to for a few rounds.'
