![]() So I don't know about you guys but I am itching to get a look at the first couple official screenshots and some videos about the gameplay. Now I do realize that its still in the pre-production stage, but my question is when do you think they will release this info? GW stated that EE should begin in the middle of next year. So I am hoping that we will get this stuff (videos, screenshots) around summer or fall of this year? Maybe earlier if we are lucky? ![]()
![]() Hello Rokolith! Welcome! I am Aven (alias is Drewber). I have always been into video games since I was a kid. It really didn't start to kick in though until I got a PS2 on one of my birthdays. Thats when I got into RPGs thanks to Kingdom Hearts, FFX, Champions of Norrath, Baulders Gate, Dark Cloud, ect. Then this generation came out with even more great RPGs (Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dark Souls, ect). I have always been into the fantasy and sci-fi genres (probably thanks to me being a huge comic book geek). When it comes to MMOs, the only really MMO I have been "addicted" to is GW2. I jumped on WoW a little late (when WotLK came out) and was not satisfied. I tried other numerous MMOs but none of them could keep my attention longer than a couple of weeks. Sandbox MMOs really intrigue me however, and I actually have never tried a sandbox MMO before. All of the ones I have tried were theme park. I found out about Pathfinder at my local comic shop (they sell tabletop RPGs) and found the art really intriguing (Wayne Reynolds is an amazing artist). So I looked into it more and read up on lore and such. I really enjoy the lore. I'm not really into tabletop RPGs though. I tried DnD and thought it was meh. Just not my cup o' tea. PFO sounds amazing and hopefully the guys at GW will pull through for everyone. Can't wait! ![]()

This makes sense as well. So if you are Evil, yes you will have the disadvantages of being flagged and attacked, BUT you also get a lot of advantages as well. It just needs to be balanced like that ![]()

This^ I do have to agree with the OP on a lot of things however. It does seem that evil PCs are getting the shaft a bit. I have a friend who will most likely play an evil aligned character and I could see him stopping and dropping the game if he is always flagged (for doing evil things) and getting barraged by do-gooders and looted and what not. However as Imbicatus stated, there are penalties but the rewards could balance it out. Lets say you see a high level trader walking down the road and you happen to be CE. You think to yourself "hey, this guys probably has some really good items on him and a good amount of gold" so you run up, kill him, loot him and get some very rare items and tons of gold. You would be flagged as a criminal BUT you would walk away with some sweet rewards. So I think GW is going to make like if you want to be evil, you should be smart about it and make sure its worth the risk. Otherwise, just keep doing your own thing in PvE type stuff unless you want to be flagged all the time. ![]()

I am a little worried about the ranger as well, especially since that is what I'm planning (going down that skill path). But I have faith in GW. If the ranger skills don't have tracking or any of those other skills I will extremely shocked. If rogue skills dont have stealth I would be even more shocked. Stealth is a staple for rogues in any fantasy/games ![]()

Yea, I guess you have a point. Cavaliers can be CG right? Just want to know because I want to have a knight type character that is CG. Also, regarding the blog post I have a question: From what they said, it sounds like the only people who will be flagged are "evil" people. If I am (lets say) a paladin and I see a necromancer who is minding his own business walking down a road and I jump out and attack him (because he is evil and I am a freakin paladin) I would then get flagged as an attacker (right?) then once he is dead I would be flagged as a criminal? Or am I just missing the obvious which is "good guys would not attack people randomly, even if they are evil"? ![]()
![]() I think there should definitely be choices in the game. Personally, I don't care about the sexy armor. I never really play female characters and I sure don't try to make my male characters look sexy. I want them to look as badass as possible :D. But there are people out there who enjoy the smexy outfits and they should be entitled to it if they want it. It doesn't really make sense to have a character with skimmmmpy armor run into the heat of battle, but then again this is a fantasy MMO. I'm sure there will be all kinds of armor types for every character, regardless of race or gender. ![]()

wait, so GW said that there will be an actual class system in the game? I figured that since its a sandbox MMO there won't be any classes, at least in the traditional sense. ![]()
![]() The only question I have is what do you guys consider to be griefing? So what you are saying, OP, is if some random evil aligned character comes up to me, kills me (because he is evil :P) he then gets struck by a bolt of lightning and instantly dies? Doesn't sound very plausible to me. It would be better if the game automatically keeps track of how many times one kills people without reasonable cause and keeps putting them higher up on the "ok, this guy needs to eventually stop because he is just griefing" latter. To me griefing is just sitting around, camping bodies and newbies. Now, those people should be stopped in some way. But come on, you have to admit that sometimes running around with a group of friends, spotting someone out of the opposite alignment, and taking them down is pretty fun. It just becomes a problem when you do it over and over again. And how would it work if a LG character randomly kills a CE character? ![]()
![]() I think in regards to mounts, I think they should be excessible at any point in the game, however depending on what kind of mount it is, it should range from a good chunk of money to very expensive. In a sandbox MMO like this, it would just make sense to have mounts at any point. Maybe there could be different tiers of mounts, lowest ones are slower (and less expensive) than the higher tier ones (faster, expensive). As for pets, I'm hoping it will be a separate skill branch. I would like my ranger to not have a pet (although that might change eventually). ![]()
![]() I hope there will be room for experimenting with different skills. I plan on going down the Ranger path, but I would also like to dip in some fighter skills, maybe even some stealth (rogue) and nature (druid) skills, maybe even some trade skills as well. I would imagine that there will be no cap for skills (like in the upcoming The Repopulation sandbox MMO) and we will be able to put any amount of points in any skill. And all of the different skills could have different ranks (unskilled, novice, experienced, expert, master - example). If you wanted to, you could have master rank in all skills, but that would literally take years to accomplish. ![]()
