Aren looks doubtfully down the cooridor. ”The goblins we were following went this way? It seems they would still be traversing the way if that were the case. Is there another way?

Aren follows behind silently. Keeping his keen eyes open for falsehoods or ambushes from the kobolds or other less obvious things. He merely views the kobolds as tools for what he wants to achieve.

After confirming with Fyrid that he had heard nothing, Aren checks the door and tries to open it.

Aren looks back at Fargus with a raised eyebrow. He steps slightly to the side and motions forward offering the dwarf the front position. ”By all means then, be the first of us to return to the stone. The path before you is clear. They seem to have followed the unmortared stone.”

Aren kneels quickly marking the goblins trail, he does however slow down and begins stalking more than walking.

At least he tries, but his armor clanking against his shield and scabbard do not do much for his ability to approach quietly.

Sheathing his blade Aren nods to the others and motions down the trail. He then follows the path that the goblins took.

Sorry, I was at work. Missed my Damage roll. Green flame blade is not like flame blade.

not that it matters but 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 would have been the damage and green flames jump from the target to an adjacent target of my choice doing 3 fire damage

Green flames leap from the blade and burn a rat close to his original target.

Aren begins confidently to descend when his grip somehow misses the rope. In the split second that he is about to fall, he disappears with a feint pop and appears at the bottom of the rope. fey step. I hate being forced to use it for something so mundane as climbing down a rope when it’s one of my best skills.

Aren waves the other forward and prepares to climb down following them. He stops then and regards the others. ”Should be let them go and follow thier tracks or just continue tailing them so closely. We put ourselves at risk on this rope. “

Aren waits for the last goblin to descend and then quietly moves toward the rope. When he arrives he looks over the edge to see which way the goblins are moving from the rope.

Aren listens and nods when it comes to the woman’s children. ”Of course, we will do what we can.” Aren keeps careful track of time and does not wish to dally here. He will soon head back to the goblin camp to ensure they do not get far. He is sure however that he or his companions could track the stupid creatures but he is not positive who out of his traveling mates are continuing for this leg of the journey.

Trying not to seem a bvious about watching and following the goblins Aren returns to the tavern with the others.

”Thank you for the offer of alcohol but I will decline. My senses must remain sharp. By all means though, tell us your story.”

Aren recognizes the Fey influence on this piece of fruit and has no doubt that Belak is involved. He intends to follow these goblin back from where they came. Trying to find out where this apple came from. He does not however plan to bid on the apple. Not that he could afford it anyway.

At hearing Belak’s name, Aren turns and regards the speaker. Taking note of what was mentioned. ”Apperantly this Sunless Citadel is where I need to go as well. I wonder if Tymora has had a hand in this group of travelers forming. We all seem to have similar agendas.“

Aren enters hearing Tairdo’s question. ”Right to the point that one is.” He walks around the inn taking in its aura. Soon he finds a seat and sits, waiting politely for service.

Aren asks if he followed a particular god and attempts to remember words from that gods burial rights. Religon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Remembering only the fewest words, he offers a more generic sounding prayer that he knows translating from elven to human. Performance: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 There are a few miss-interpretations but over all the words come out right. Nothing inspiring however.

Entering Oakhurst, Aren finds the place to be quaint. He surveys the small village to get a good lay of the village and sets it to memory.

Aren turns to the house and at Fyrid’s call dismounts and examines the body.

Shaking his head, Aren looks back to the woman and child. ”I am sorry for your loss. We are heading to Oakhurst and it would be no trouble to escort you to safety. My name is Arendyl”

Aren urges his horse forward to run down the fleeing orcs. As he come up next to Fargus, he swings his green flame blade down on the orc.

Aren follows Fargus, drawing his blade and calling forth his divine magic to power the blade. As he comes within swords reach of an orc that is close to another orc, he lashes out with his flame wreathed blade.

Green Flame Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Slashing Damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 7) + 3 = 15 and 3 fire damage to the nearby orc. As fire jumps from Aren’s Blade to burn the adjacent orc.

Aren is pleased to get away from Waterdeep. The hustle and bustle of the Sword Coast’s biggest city was a bit overwhelming for him. Getting on the road and furthering his mission has put him in a good mood for traveling.

He was quite surprised by the generosity one of his new companion’s benefactor to have supplies them with riding horses as well. This seemed a good sign of fortune for the new group. Perhaps he might even be able to enlist some of them to help him locate and capture his quarry.

Aren joins Fyrid, standing quietly while he asks the others to join. Smiling when they begin to agree and seem to have pleasant demeanors.

On Fyrid’s approach, Arendyl offers the wood elf a traditional elven greeting. Very formal, probably something Fyrid has not seen in a very long time. After hearing him out Aren seems a little taken back at first and then seems to realize he is the stranger here. ”I assure you friend that I was not intruding on your conversation. I was merely trying to get your attention. I was hoping you may be able direct me to a reputable guide. I am traveling north toward the small town of of Oakhurst. I’m looking for a local that may be able to help me get there. “

Hearing an elvish accent, Aren turns and scans the room, still sipping his wine. Seeing the wood elf, he wonders to himself ”A local! Perhaps he would be willing to help me aclimate to this area. I know approximately where Neverwinter is, but a guide would not hurt. A local may actually know where this “Oakhurst” actually is.”

Noticing that his the elf has began speaking with someone else, Arendyl keeps a non threatening eye on his quarry. Watching for signs of trustworthiness and to make sure he doesn’t disappear befor Aren can speak with him.

Delicate chain links jingle as an exotic looking elf pushes open the door. His silver hair frame the bronze features of his face sharply. His golden eyes darts round the famous tavern. A smile comes across his face as he heads to the bar. “Greatings, I’ve heard many stories of this place. I’m glad to have the chance to visit.” He rests his hand easily in the hilt of his curved elven long sword and calls for a glass of wine.

Receiving his wine he slowly wanders through the great meeting room enjoying the decorations and items of interest. From time to time stopping to consider something while sipping the wine comfortably.

The elf is prepared for travel. His backpack nestled over the shoulder sharing back space with his shield. The symbol emblazoned on the shield being a quarter moon over starbursts and styled to match his lightly made chainmail.

Do you guys think this guy would fit into the party? He's designed for a giants campaign but it fizzled out. The backstory is easily modified but want some idea if you think the sharp toungued prankster could work?

Tzardusk, if you are up for taking up the ranged slot, my main thought for a replacement character would be a Gnome Bard. As a melee character for the most part

i think I'm going to take the opportunity to have Aren bow out gracefully. Aren was one of my first attempts at a play by post char and I don't find him terribly interesting.

If you'd like I can float a couple ideas for a replacement character or I can bow out as well.

All for returning the treasure. Is this the end of the adventure or are we planning on continuing play?

This treasure belongs to the residents here. I thought we where gathering it for safe keeping. If the new leadership deems us worthy of a reward however, I would not turn my hand away.

Nodding to Taneriel, Aren takes the medallion and hides it away on his person. Anxious to get back to the surface he helps Ollok to bring the second Chest along with the party.
