Does anyone have any ideas for break DCs for large, huge, gargantuan and colossal objects? Hit points weren't too hard to figure out, but there isn't any way that I can find to scale up the break DC of items based on size. I'm think in terms of characters knocking over objects such as pillars and statues. Is there any precedent for this? You'd think this would be something that could definitely be done in some Pathfinder games by strong characters, and definitely in mythic games. One reason I'm interested is that there is an upcoming scenario in the game I'm running where the characters can try to knock over these colossal obsidian statues onto the big bad for a substantial amount of damage, and a chance to pin it. I don't expect any single character to do it alone, but there are several player characters and a number of large sized NPCs with high strength that can help. To make it slightly easier the characters can also try to damage the statues down to half HP to reduce the break DC by 2 (not much I know). I'm also going to allow a knowledge engineering check to determine if a statue may already be cracked enough at its base to make it easier to knock over. So, any suggestions or precedents for scaling up the break DCs of larger objects? Thanks. ![]()
I've started writing a number of new minigames for the campaign I'm running. So far I've written a rather detailed mini-game rule set for an archaeological dig that covers dig progress based on the number of hired diggers, various roles for characters besides just helping dig, daily events, both positive and negative, that impact the dig site, and treasure (magical and non magical) that is found as the dig progresses. Also I've written a minigame for navigating a massive labyrinth while trying to reach the end before several other teams and avoiding a powerful labyrinth monster (I didn't want this particular labyrinth to be a traditional dungeon crawl), and a few others that I can't remember at the moment. I may post what I've written later if you're interested in them. If you've written a mini-game I'd love to see it. Also looking for ideas on mass combat mini-games, as I don't really care for the normal mass combat rules. ![]()
As far as I can tell, there isn't a comprehensive list of mini-games and what adventures paths they are in. I've been making a few of my own, but I'd like to have more reference material. Looking for a little help on getting info about the various mini-games, a brief description of them, and what AP and book they are in. ![]()
Yeah, I've spent a few hours looking using a variety of search terms. Haven't found anything that really fits what I need. I'll likely have to use something that is technically smaller, and change the square size like you mentioned. In addition I am probably going to have part of the gala extend out into the front courtyard. This will provide more space for all the guests. ![]()
So I need a map for a castle or palace with a grand ballroom that could host 100 to 200 guests for a gala. I've had no luck finding anything so far that is big enough. Everything I've found is much smaller than what I am looking for. Does anyone know of anything they can point me to? I'd really appreciate any and all suggestions on this. Thanks ![]()
I clicked FAQ as well. I concur that they should get Int to hit. They also need to FAQ whether or not you can try to grapple someone with the hair without actually striking them and whether or not you can manipulate objects (but not weapons) as dexterously as a human hand, like the Prehensile Hair (Su) Hex. ![]()

I concur. I hated the Epic Level Handbook. Mythic is in my opinion so much better. Sure it may be unbalanced, but as for the feel of being mythic it really hits the mark for me while Epic Level didn't. ![]()
For a WoTR game I would just drop the racial intolerance towards any tiefling that is making an obvious attempt to help the city. The information about the racial intolerance is in the Kenabres Before the Fall chapter anyway. That status quo is going to get really shaken up in a WoTR game and most of the people of the city are going to be a lot more concerned with other things. |
