The fleeing soldiers hold the skeleton's attention just long enough for it to swipe at their backs. claw attack AoO 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Then it's head turns to the black knight, racing directly through the vanishing form of Eyvindr to follow Ragnar's brother's wicked slash with it's own, lining up opposite Chops. Charge Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 5 str, 2 bab, 2 charge, 2 flank, for +11. If flanking isn't possible with a charge, take 2 off and assume he goes for the charge and not the flank. he's not smart enough to know that the flank is better. damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 end summon round 2

		   The shade of Anvinder continues it's dash past the spearmen on his way to the crossbowmen, still ignoring their weapons. It pounces on one, it's jaw shaking in silent laughter. if the crossbowmen are 10+ feet back from the spearmen, this is a charge. If not, it's a 5' adjust with a full attack. I'll post both. Charge Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 if it's not a charge, subtract 2 Damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Possible 2nd attack. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 end of summon round 1

The skeleton sprints around the edge wall of shields, ignoring the spears and slashing out at one of the spearmen as it passes. 30' move should get Anvinder around the edge of the shield wall, provoking AoO from the outermost spearman as he moves in to attack range. Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

		   The skeleton continues it's assault on the soldier who had been in the middle, aiding Ilona. Claw attack against Ilona's Distracting target. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 2nd Claw attack against Ilona's Distracting target. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 With his lowered AC, I think that 2nd one hit?

Yep. That's what I did. I took Anvinder's base stats and adjusted them according to the template. Click the Avatar to see. I've included a 1HD version and a 2 HD version. The 1 HD version is just about right considering what the Summon Undead 1 spell is supposed to be able to do. The 2 HD version is significantly weaker than what the spell should summon.

Nightflier, I'm having a little trouble with the stating of the summoned skeletons. The Summon Undead spells in Libris Mortis are *really* generic in their description of what can be summoned. Summon Undead 1 allows for the summoning of a Medium Skeleton (no mention of HD, Challenge Rating, ect.). I assumed they meant a basic 1/2 CR, 1 HD skeleton and statted Anvinder here out accordingly with the Skeleton Template. It's summon Undead 2 where I ran into the trouble. The table says Large Skeleton. When I look in the 3.5 monster manual, and on the 2do srd, I get three different listings for large skeletons (owlbear, troll and something else) all of which seem more powerful than the spell can handle. So I just statted Anvinder as a 2 HD basic undead, and then discovered the opposite problem. He's to weak (all told, a 2 HD skelton gains 5 HP, +1 to their attack and +1 to their Will save, and that's it). Even a Large Skeleton with only 2 HD still has Size and Reach to help it out. I'm not really sure what I should do to boost the Summon Monster 2 version of Anvinder up to where he should be (apx, CR 1, the equivalent of a 1st level character) Any suggestions? |
