DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
@Clandelve: I'm not able to move Akeyra without burning her so badly she immediately goes down :S You'll probably be able to take her place fast. Akeyra, despite being gravely wounded, attacks the tiger with a powerful bite. +1 Bite, +1 Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 27 Damage +1, +1 Inspire courage: 1d4 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 15
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
At Shayla's command, Akeyra moves halfway out of the fog. She's slowed down by the fog, but having moved halfway out proves to be enough to attack the tiger. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 = 15 Damage +1: 1d4 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 = 13
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
The effect of the evil eye wears off of Akeyra when the red skull's crushed, and the constrictor focuses on attacking the last skull. +1 Bite, +2 Flanking, +1 Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 25 Damage +1, +1 Inspire Courage: 1d4 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 14
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Akeyra feels a bit uncomfortable after one of the skulls gives her the evil eye, but this is compensated by the opportunities her flanking position with Shayla provides. However, when Akeyra tries to bite and constrict the red skull, the effect of the evil eye seems to weight heavier. +1 Bite, -2 Evil Eye, +2 Flanking: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 17 Damage +1: 1d4 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 1 = 14
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Akeyra shrugs the misfortune and sparkling disco effects off, and squeezes the already grappled blue skull hard. Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 11 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 4 = 22 Grapple damage: 1d4 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 1 = 14
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra does as she's told and attacks the blue skull. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 1 = 29 Damage +1: 1d4 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 = 13
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will, guidance, resistance: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 26 Akeyra stares at the old version of herself slither past her, but doesn't even realize that's what she looks like.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
My bad! I looked the size thing up in the grapple rules, instead of the grab rules. The grapple rules seem to be fine fine with grappling larger opponents, hence the mistake. Akeyra looks rather frustrated she can't apply her usual strategy to this particular enemy. Lucky for her, Archibald's spell lets Akeyra attack twice to compensate for the lack of constrict damage she can dish out. +1 Bite, Haste, Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 1 + 1 = 24 Damage: 1d4 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 1 = 15
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra waits for Lars to move, so she can move to the four squares in front of Shayla and attack the creature. If it comes to that: The large constrictor moves in front of Shayla and attacks the even larger creature. +1 Bite, Haste: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 1 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Didn't yet move Akeyra's token, because she hasn't actually moved yet.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
If the column isn't yet down after Clandelve and Shayla their attacks, Akeyra will attempt to take the column down. +1 Bite, High ground: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 1 = 21 Damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Maintain grapple, High ground: 1d20 + 11 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 4 + 1 = 36 Grapple damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Akeyra maintains her grapple, and squeezes the yellow column to tiny bits.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra attacks the yellow column with a bite, and of course also tries to constrict it. +1 Bite, High ground: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 1 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra exerts great pressure on the column with her grapple. Maintain grapple, High ground: 1d20 + 11 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 4 + 1 = 34 Grapple damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Pretty sure that killed it. If not, ignore the following and I'll return Akeyra's token asap. The column shatters under the pressure exerted by Akeyra. The large constrictor directly shifts her attention to a new target, and makes her way toward to other columns.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra slithers after Shayla, and uses her reach to attack the red column. +1 Bite, High ground: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 1 = 29 Damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra cocks her head while staring at the old wizard. Her tongue lashes out again as she tastes the air around Archibald. "Hissss..."
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Perception, +2 Urban: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10 (+4 vs. Humans; +2 vs. Evil outsiders) Akeyra looks in the same direction Shayla does, also tasting the air with her tongue. (Scent ability.)
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra glares at both Charasii and Lars. Her tongue lashes out of her mouth, from which a loud hissing sound escapes.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
I just read this, which I wasn't aware of earlier: "Each animal companion has different starting sizes, speed, attacks, ability scores, and special qualities. All animal attacks are made using the creature's full base attack bonus unless otherwise noted. Animal attacks add the animal's Strength modifier to the damage roll, unless it is its only attack, in which case it adds 1-1/2 its Strength modifier. Some have special abilities, such as scent. As you gain levels, your animal companion improves as well, usually at 4th or 7th level, in addition to the standard bonuses noted on Table: Animal Companion Base Statistics. Instead of taking the listed benefit at 4th or 7th level, you can instead choose to increase the companion's Dexterity and Constitution by 2." Meaning Akeyra's attacks are actually more devastating than I thought!^^
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra bites the ooze once more, and attempts to get back on top of it. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
Back and forth, back and forth...?
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra II, or simply Akeyra, does her best to execute Shayla's command. Equipped with the items from her predecessor, she tries to hurt the ooze with a bite. In case the attack's successful, Akeyra will try to constrict the ooze. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra continues her attempts to bite and constrict the sphinx. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Trusting in Shayla, Akeyra continues her assault on the sphinx. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Akeyra's less successful this time.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra takes another bite at the sphinx, and tries constricting her again. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
After Shayla's taken her shot, Akeyra moves forward. +1 Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Akeyra sinks her fangs into the sphinx' tough hide, as if it's no big deal.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Shayla's shot initiates combat. Thus Akeyra will probably get to attack no earlier than her and Shayla's initiative order. So despite Shayla giving the command, I'll refrain from posting Akeyra's actions till she's up.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
When the beetle wounds Akeyra, it only enraged her more. Akeyra continues her assault on the insect. Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 4 + 5 = 36 Grapple damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra hisses at the beetle, then attempts to bite and constrict it. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra does as Shayla commands, and attacks the tentacle creature that's having its way with Archibald. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Confusion effect: 1d100 ⇒ 53 Akeyra doesn't hold items in her hands, because... well, you know. Does this mean she whacks her head against the floor, or does nothing happen at all? I don't think a humanoid would do anything without holding a weapon, because confusion specifically describes there has to be a weapon in hand.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Akeyra resists the creature's attempt to confuse her, and attacks again. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
The constrictor's aim is better this time, but still not very good. The spit attacks don't provoke AoOs from Akeyra?
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 For a moment it looks like Akeyra freezes in place, but then she attempts to bite the weird creature. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
@GM: I almost forgot, but if this is an evil outsider then Shayla and Akeyra get +2 to attack and damage rolls.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra slithers down to where the creature is. Her tongue tastes the air around the creature, and Akeyra slowly opens her mouth to strike.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra moves in on the last enemy, going back to the same height as everyone else, and attacks with a bite. Bite, haste: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 10 + 1 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9
She lets go of the adaro, and tries to bite him again. Bite, haste: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 1 = 27 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
When done, Akeyra lets go of the (probably dead) adaro.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
@Clandelve: Akeyra is fully in the water, 5 feet above the bridge.
Bite, haste: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11
Akeyra attacks the blue adaro with a bite, and squeezes him hard. Bite, haste: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 = 24 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10
If the blue adaro still lives, Akeyra lets go of him and repeats the process with the help of Archibald's haste spell. Otherwise she'll let go of her unconscious victim to bite and squeeze the red adaro, who she'll also release if he goes down. Akeyra's Con is 17, so she should be able to hold her breath for a reasonable time. Though biting her enemies will probably make her lose some of the air she's holding.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra tries to follow after Shayla with a double move of her own. I'm not sure if she can? You can't end movement in the same square, but it's a 3D space and Akeyra could move up: she has a natural swim speed.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
While Shayla's inspecting the amulet, Akeyra quickly eats the dead owl. Akeyra's eyes then focus on Archibald, and she hisses softly.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra attacks the other earth elemental with a bite. If successful, Akeyra'll try to squeeze it apart. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 4 + 5 = 38 Grapple damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
Akeyra maintains her grapple on the air elemental, and attempts to squeeze life out of it. If the elemental goes down, Akeyra releases it.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra moves onto the bridge, and readies an attack against anything that comes within her (10 ft) reach. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra had one enemy within reach where I placed her, but she would indeed have moved on to another one if that one was dead. Akeyra moves a bit closer to the green gremlin on the cliff, and attempts to bite and constrict it. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
She'll drop her victim if it goes unconscious or dies.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra's been training by Shayla to first take care of all living enemies before eating the unconscious ones. Climbing's Akeyra her thing, and she heads for her new target with as much ease and speed as during her normal slithering. Her big mouth opens, and she tries to bite her new victim. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11
If the grapple's successful and the constrict damage is done, Akeyra will let go of her unconscious/dead victim. Did I already mention Akeyra's attacks count as magic, due the her Amulet of Mighty Fists +1?
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
The large constrictor moves into the room, and uses her reach to snap her fangs at the nearest lapdog. Bite: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 I doubt that hit.
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra hisses when the two-headed snake attacks her. She then tries to bite and constrict the other snake. Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Damage: 1d4 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
DEAD F Constrictor Animal Companion/7
Akeyra moves over to the two-headed snake, but is a bit slow. It takes Akeyra a double move to get to her opponent, ending her movement where the currently splattered ooze was.
