Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar lets Marcelline's enthusiasm draw him into the festivities. He does his best to keep up with her, but keeps his drinking moderate. He tips generously as well, especially when the performers can draw a laugh from the crowd.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar only uses spells when the CLW from the wands won't be sufficient, or when he knows we'll have a rest.

Love the treasure split, thanks for doing that Marcy and Prazil.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar moved a practice eye across the buildings, streets and citizens of Pitax, trying to discern, through their habits of decoration, demeanor, and upkeep whether this was a community joined by love, fear, or some other emotion.

Sense Motive?: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

I have company coming in today, and then I'm leaving Friday for the World Boardgaming Championships for 9 glorious days. I'll try to post, but I might be intermittent, especially on travel days.
I'm back the last day of July.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Let's not leave the cursed sword laying in these tunnels. It has caused too much trouble already. Let's bring it, carefully, to Pitax, and see if we can find a way to destroy it."

Do we know of a way to safely handle the sword so as to transport it?

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar felt a mild disgust as the creature was cut open, but it soon turned to interest in the elaborate digestive system.

"That's five, no, SIX gall bladders. Each one the size of an Taldan wine jug. Incredible. This thing could digest a whale's worth of blubber in an afternoon. But no wonder it's so ill-tempered."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar helped gather all the wounded together and applied healing magic.

I'm going to channel energy and use spells to heal everyone to full prior to sleep. If it matters, I can track all that. But if we're just going to rest and recover, we can move on to full health, right?

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Prazil has freedom of movement, he cannot be grappled.
Hooray, it worked!

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Will Save 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Will Save 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Moving forward slightly, Agnar sent a bolt of searing energy at the towering monstrosity.

Move just west of Kerrek, cast searing light

Point blank Ranged touch, with Prazil +2: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 31

damage: 5d8 untyped: 5d8 ⇒ (8, 8, 1, 2, 2) = 21

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar sent Fang back down the tunnel with a quick command.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Gozreh's swampy armpits! It's enormous!"

Gathering his wits, he scanned his companions. He placed a finger on Prazil, and whispered a lilting prayer.

cast freedom of movement on Prazil. It can't grapple you now.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

This isn't going to work Agnar thought to himself with a sigh.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Now that their leader is dead, perhaps they'll be more open to negotiation. Let's go find out."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Goodness! You are hurt. I was so busy being washed away in the muck that I missed that. Poor dear."

Angar gave a long series of ministrations to Katerina.

10 charges for Kat: 10d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 5, 1, 4, 1, 4, 4, 8) + 10 = 50

He stepped back to get a look at this efforts. He noticed a few more places that still looked painfully bruised. He stepped forward again to fix those.

3 more charges for Kat: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) + 3 = 8

"I think something's wrong with this wand" Agnar said, looking at the thing and then shaking it.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

After healing Prazil, Agnar tended to himself, and to Fang, prodding the wounds with the healing wand.

5 charges for Agnar, who was down 30, but who hadn't updated his profile because boards were wonky and life is busy: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 7, 6, 3, 5) + 5 = 32

5 charges for Fang, who was down 30, but who doesn't make lame excuses: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 2, 7) + 5 = 24

Lame Excuses FTW!

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar agreed as he hovered over Prazil, poking him gently on his many wounds. "No, we can not leave it. But nor can we wield it. A fine conundrum. Perhaps either Marcy or Kereek can use magic to stow it safely?"

5 charges of the CLW wand on Prazil: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 7, 3, 7, 2) + 5 = 31

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Well, that got out of hand quickly. We might need a bit more diplomacy once we get to Pitax. It will likely help to not have Prazil driven mad by a cursed sword. Anyway, gather around all of you. Let me see where you're hurts lie...under all this muck."

Please put your healing needs in your next post, and I'll take care of them.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar gathers himself and Skybolt as Fang also regains his feet.

Agnar shoots an arrow at the boggard chief.

Skybolt: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Ha!" Agnar shouted in triumph as he dispelled the boggard's magic.

Almost instantly his eyes went wide as a wall of water approached him.

swim: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
swim Fang: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

"Gozreh's green ba.!" was all he managed to shout before he and Fang were washed backwards.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Oh, you cheeky little.. Agnar cursed to himself before barking harsh, magical tones and pointing twisted fingers at the rising water.

Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar Ref Save vs DC 21: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Fang Ref Save vs DC 21: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

30hp vs both of us.

As Fang yipped in pain and his own beard smoldered, Agnar frowned angrily.

He retaliated with his own gout of divine flame.

Cast flame strike back at the boggard, centered behind him to catch him and at least one, if not two, of the dart spitters. I should miss Prazil and Kat. DC 20 for half.
Flame Strike: 13d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 6, 4, 6, 2, 1, 2, 1, 3, 3, 6) = 45

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Prazil healing retcon:

After removing the curse, Agnar applied some healing with his curing wands. He shook his head slowly, unable to stay angry with the kobold.
CLW, 5 charges: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 1, 6, 4, 4) + 5 = 27
That'll get you almost halfway back to full, Prazil.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar raises a clutching hand towards the boggard in the back who appears to be in charge.

Cast hold person on the boss. DC17 Will or held

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

I was having some connection issues, too. Glad to know it isn't just me. It slowed me down this week, and it looks like I missed Mott by about 10-15 minutes with the remove curse. Alas. A wasted 20! :-)

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar approaches Prazil and pulls out a rolled sheet of bark, runs a finger along the pattern drawn upon it, and then reaches out and touches Prazil's forehead.

"Prazil, put down the sword for just a moment."

EDIT: forgot the crunch:

Use scroll of Remove Curse. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33 Boom.

If Prazil puts down the sword:

"You are free. Do not put it once more into your hands. Your path to power lies elsewhere. For now, let me wrap it up carefully and we'll continue on." Agnar does so.

If Prazil doesn't put down the sword:

"By Gozreh's green testicles! You maddening..." Agnar trails off and sighs. "We'll discuss this later, if you're lucky enough not to become thrall to this cursed blade in the meantime. Let's go."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

I have a scroll of remove curse, but I'm unclear on the mechanics of how it works with an item. Do you cast, and then the creature knows to release the weapon? Or do you need to remove the item and then cast the spell? Does it even matter?

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

A Heal Check is sorta a Perception check (he offered meekly after rolling a 17 followed by a 4)

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Angar responded calmly and carefully. "There is no where for them to run. We're in their warrens. This will only take a few moments."

He reached out and placed a hand on Prazil's shoulder. "Everything is going to be fine."

I apply Calming Touch...which removes fatigued, shaken and sickened conditions, heals 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 non-lethal damage.
It is my second use of the day.

Agnar eyed Prazil's demeanor as he further tried to calm the kobold.

"There now, we'll get you all set to rights."

He gave a sidelong grimace to Katerina and then set to reasoning out Prazil's condition.

Possesion, perhaps? he mused. Heal Skill: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar shrugged at Kat, a concerned look on his face.

"Prazil, wait! You're hurt and so is Marcy."

He tried to stop the kobold, laying a healing hand on Marcy as he passed.

Do I need to roll anything to try to stop him, or to see if I can find out what's wrong with him?

drop Air Walk to cast CSW on Marcy
CSW: 4d8 + 13 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 5) + 13 = 25

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar rapidly looses three point-blank arrows from skybolt at the boggard mauling Marcy.

1st shot: 1d20 + 13 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 13 + 1 - 2 = 32
confirm: 1d20 + 13 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 1 - 2 = 21
2nd shot: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 12
3rd shot: 1d20 + 13 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 13 + 1 - 2 = 23

damage 1: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
crit if applicable, second dice are sonic and boggard is deafened: 2d8 + 2d8 ⇒ (2, 3) + (6, 5) = 16
damage 2: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
damage 3: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Sorry for the slow posting. Been super busy. But I should be back now.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar told Fang to "stay" and then moved into the room, drawing skybolt

I'll move 10 ft NW of Marcy, draw a weapon and give a command to Fang

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar walked up behind Marcy and drew a quick, complex pattern in the air behind her.

Cast shield of faith on Marcy, granting a +4 deflection bonus to AC. That should be a net +2 given her Ring of Protection.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Kereek, it sounds as if Prazil has found something to smite. Let's join them. Fang, heel."

Agnar and his wolf slopped down the tunnel after the others.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar gave a consoling pat to Kereek, hoping to calm him as well.

Calming touch as a standard to remove shaken condition from Kereek.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Will Save 1 vs. DC 13: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Will Save 2 vs. DC 13: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Agnar sighed at the needless carnage. He then placed a friendly hand on Marcy's shoulder, noting she was feeling a bit off.

Calming touch as a standard to remove shaken condition from Marcy.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar ponders the different roles that thoughtful consideration and instinctive action play in his life. But only for a moment before he follows the enthusiastic Kereek into a random hole.

"Heel, Fang. You've been very good and quiet on this trip, but now you need to go into this hole.
Yes, like a terrier. Yes, I know...I don't want to either."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Is this going to be a stand up fight, sir, or another bug hunt?

Angar took a long, searching look at how the mounds were placed, along with the northward facing skulls. He was trying to figure out which of the holes might be the most important, or the most direct to the leader of such a living community.

Know nature to guess the shortest path to the boss?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"Good idea, Kereek!" Agnar said, and peered into the water trying to track the eye.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar fumbled in his belt pouch among some carefully rolled bark sheaves.

"If we wished to continue our discussions with the boggards, I have something here that would allow us to go underwater for say...five hours or so? We'd be wet, but we could breathe."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar eyed the beetle-like creature carefully, trying to identify it.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

He tried a few magically enhanced words to communicate with it.

I try a round of my Speak with Animals domain feature, but I'm guessing this is a vermin.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Will Save, and I'll use Unity to allow everyone to use my result: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Agnar put a hand on Kereek's shoulder in a sign of unity and support.

"Please", he added.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar agreed and looked forward to the journey to the lake.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar was excited to go. As he looked at Spike, he began to wonder about the beast's forage requirements. Hopefully along the way they'd meet some farmers looking to have some brush cleared. And needing manure for their fallow fields.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

"On second thought, do we not now have the means to keep in touch while using separate paths to the tournament? Prazil and I could walk, using magic to stay in touch, or to return home immediately in case of trouble. The rest of you could join us just outside of Pitax, so that we could make a grand entrance."

ooc:
Hate to split the party, but I can use spells like refuge and sending [EDIT] and word of recall to prevent anything horrible happening. I don't want to have a major side-quest for two characters, but I think Agnar would really like to see the land and people.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar enjoyed the thought of walking to the tournament, and having a chance to see the land and communities around Hartsland. But he understood Marcy's business responsibilities and Kereek's desire to fly.

He smiled and shrugged his willingness to go along with the group.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

I can't make a DC 20 untrained.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Agnar raised an eyebrow at Irovetti's use of the title "Prince-Regent of the Sellen".

"Yes, we should attend. It will give us a chance to take the measure of this king, and his kingdom."

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Yes, please.

Male Human Cleric 13 of Erastil HP 104/104

Thanks guys, I'm good. I love my scribe scroll feat and I'm happy to put my resources there.

All that was left were the wands. I was thinking a wand of CMW, which is 4,500. But Prazil mentioned that CLW is cheaper per hit point at the same cost, giving 6 wands.

Mott: are 6 wands of CLW available in the world?
