"Well, that got out of hand quickly. We might need a bit more diplomacy once we get to Pitax. It will likely help to not have Prazil driven mad by a cursed sword. Anyway, gather around all of you. Let me see where you're hurts lie...under all this muck."
Please put your healing needs in your next post, and I'll take care of them.
Marcelline Bryne
Marcelline immediately begins using detect magic and stripping the priest-king and his bodyguards of everything valuable that they have. Maybe this trip won't be so useless after all.
I keep my header updated, so I am at 78/91. Heal me last, as a night's rest will heal me.

Prazil frowns at the other boggards as they shrink away then he tries to brush some of the muck from his boots and tauric legs but ends up only managing to make a bigger, smeared mess across his armor. Towering over Kereek now, his size still increased by the virtue of Marcy's spell, his glance bounces from the fleeing boggards back to the previous chamber.
"That frog-man was for being sneaky with the waters like that! Good job stopping him, Agnar!" He claps his bearded friend on the shoulder, now eye-to-eye, but his gaze drifts once more back to the opening to the earlier chamber.
"But, can we be for leaving sword behind in that other room? What if frog-people take it?"
Nearby...
Back in the previous room, with its blade buried halfway to the hilt in a mound of churned mud, discarded Ovinrbaane waits for the kobold to heed its call.
Agnar Hrolfsen
Agnar agreed as he hovered over Prazil, poking him gently on his many wounds. "No, we can not leave it. But nor can we wield it. A fine conundrum. Perhaps either Marcy or Kereek can use magic to stow it safely?"

The chieftain has a number of magical possessions among his gear: 3 potions of cure moderate wounds, a potion of sanctuary, a wand of cure moderate wounds (24 charges), a wand of poison (9 charges); +2 hide armor, +1 icy morningstar, masterwork light wooden shield, spell component pouch and an unholy symbol of Gogunta.
His two guards each have 2 potions of cure serious wounds; +1 hide armor, a masterwork handaxe and a masterwork trident.

"Goodness! You are hurt. I was so busy being washed away in the muck that I missed that. Poor dear."
Angar gave a long series of ministrations to Katerina.
10 charges for Kat: 10d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 5, 1, 4, 1, 4, 4, 8) + 10 = 50
He stepped back to get a look at this efforts. He noticed a few more places that still looked painfully bruised. He stepped forward again to fix those.
3 more charges for Kat: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) + 3 = 8
"I think something's wrong with this wand" Agnar said, looking at the thing and then shaking it.
Kereek!
Kereek nudges the chief's corpse. "Well, we am for killing their chief, so they am stopping raiding until they am having more time to make new chief. So maybe we am solving this problem?" While he ponders this, he casts detect magic and checks out the corpses.

Kereek notices the same magic items as Marcelline did.
Katerina the Maid
Katerina looks down at the slaughtered boggard. Somehow, this doesn't feel noble. To Agnar's ministrations she mumbles a thank you and then readies herself to go further into the warrens. "We may be better off forcing them out. This is not the kind of work I want to do twice because we missed something."
Kat wants to finish off this tribes ability to raid, but can be talked out of slaughtering them all...
Marcelline Bryne
"You guys are ridiculous. Why don't we just... leave? Or are we going to try to make friends with the very same creatures we came here to exterminate? These guys are vermin. We should just leave."
Meanwhile, she pockets the wand of cure moderate wounds and the wand of poison and holds up the priest's holy symbol.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (13) + 11 + (6) = 30
"Look, they even worship demons. Gogunta is a demon lord, and that's who their leader and priest venerated. Do you need another justification? Demons are horrific."
We should also take the 4 potions of cure serious wounds, the 3 potions of cure moderate wounds and the icy morningstar/+2 hide armor to sell. They're worth about 6,000gp to us, which isn't nothing. Maybe we split the potions between Keerek, Prazil, and Katerina? Two CSW and a CMW to Prazil, one of each to Keerek and Kat?
Kereek!
Kereek shrugs. "Kereek am for trying, but they am already killing and running and fighting. Kereek am thinking they am made their choice."
He clears his throat and calls out. "Boggard! We am for making peace if you am for not fighting and stopping attacking merchants! You am not needing to die today!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Prazil
When the boggards don't respond to Kereek's entreaties, Prazil looks at the others and holds his hands out to his side as if to say, See? "See? They am not for talking, we should be for stopping them now though! What if they am for making trouble while we am at tournament? Who am for stopping them then? We should be for doing it now!"
motteditor RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16
OK, I'm going with you trying to drive them out.
You continue to push your way through the tunnels, finding many of the boggards have already begun fleeing, scattering outside through the tunnels upstairs. They seem broken by the death of their leader, and the few who do put up any resistances are summarily dispatched with little effort.
You do find a treasure cave which contains several wooden crates, rotting burlap sacks, and small casks, which hold 56 pp, 1,287 gp, 2,019 sp, 872 cp, five black opals worth 200 gp each, 10 gold bracelets (each is decorated with a different forest animal motif and is worth 25 gp), a box of 12 Taldan-stamped gold ingots worth 250 gp each, a cask containing three doses of elixir of swimming, and a harp that bears the likeness of Cayden Cailean.
It's a harp of charming.
Heading down the final tunnel that you're able to find and emerging onto the surface, it appears to be a job well done. You emerge on a small island at the lake’s edge. Littered with clean-picked bones, the island has several human skulls along its perimeter, some placed just inches deep in the water. They all face away from the lakeshore, staring north across the lake as if watching for intruders from that direction.
As you look around, you see three more boggards emerge from the water between you and the shore, weapons drawn. Worse, there's a loud splash from the other side of the island and an immense, three-eyed frog-like creature rears up on powerful hind legs. In place of arms, four huge tentacles thrash and writhe.

Katerina the Maid
As soon as the behemoth monster comes barreling out of the swamp Katerina turns to it. Taken aback at it's sheer size, she wonders if retreat might be a good option. She steels herself and thinks, No one else is running, so I can't! With a shout the duelists leaps into action, taken the several steps into the muck so she can reach the monster. Her blade lashes out, almost tentatively as she maintains a much more guarded stance than normal. However, the cut is deep into the vitals and it's very life blood begins to bleed out.

A low rumble of thunder seems to roll across the island as Spike begins galloping toward you all at Prazil's call you can see his position on the "dungeon" map.
Marcelline and Agnar kick off battle with spells, the former's covering the three boggard warriors with glittering dust, though one is able to duck underwater to avoid the worst of it. The other two croak menacingly need two DC 14 Will saves from everyone (except Spike and Fang); failing the first means you're shaken 3 rounds; failing the second means you're shaken 2 rounds; failing both means you're frightened 2 rounds and then shaken for 1 more round before ducking underwater to try to clear their eyes. The third swims a little closer, stabbing and slashing the half-elf. 45 hp damage
Katerina closes on the frog thing, hoping to move quickly enough that it can't react, and strays into the muck difficult terrain, though you don't provoke because it's still flat-footed. Her blade barely pierces its rubbery hide and it lets out a croak of rage at the pain, before lashing back at the swordswoman. Backing away slightly from the pain, it chomps onto Katerina, ignoring her attempts to parry and lashes her with tentacles. She manages to slip out of its maw before its teeth close on her, but the two tentacles wrap her up tightly. 35 total hp, plus grabbed; per Marcy's spell you get an immediate Escape Artist attempt at +14

Kereek's ray blasts the froghemoth, which roars in rage, as its skin seems to simply disintegrate -- but it keeps its feet, though drops Katerina as she wriggles furiously, bolstered by Marcelline's spell. Agnar's blast hits it, and Katerina takes advantage to move aside the thing, feet kicking furiously in the water. Don't forget you need Swim checks, Kat (unless I'm missing something).
It bites and lashes at the swimming target, but Kat's somehow able to avoid it. A couple tentacles lash out toward Prazil too, one slamming off his armor, but the other smashing into his head, jamming the helmet down painfully 12 hp and wrapping around the kobold grappled.
Prazil stabs the nearest glittering boggard, wounding it slightly before Marcelline's blade opens a gaping wound and knocks its blade aside as she tumbles backward. Let me know if you wanted to be somewhere else -- I could move you more to the right, but 15 ft. straight back would have landed you in the water.
A ground-shaking rumble heralds Spike's arrival, his leap into the water to get to the island nearly swamping everyone and sending two of the boggards scurrying onto the shore, where they jab and slash at Agnar and Kereek 20 hp to Kereek; 24 to Agnar. Adding insult to injury, both find themselves targeted with a sticky tongue as well, hampering their movement -2 to AC; can't move more than 10 feet from the boggards.

Kereek's fire catches the nearest boggard, which roars in pain as its green skin blisters. Taking no quarter, it turns to fight the kobold, only to be punched forward by Prazil's lance, though it maintains its feet, moving with the stagger between Kereek and Agnar and quickly bringing its weapons to bear. Despite that, Marcelline's blade catches it, sending blood flowing freely as Agnar finishes it off with a blow from a hastily pulled dagger before backing up.
The cleric is pursued by the second boggard, who jabs and slashes at him, drawing blood from a series of new wounds. 43 hp total
In the water, Katerina slices more into the froghemoth, turning the water even darker as its blood flows from a new slash. It roars in pain again and concentrates on the swordswoman, tentacles thrashing. Fortunately, its pain seems to have all but blinded it, and she's somehow able to avoid almost all the repeated blows in her direction. Unfortunately, the one tentacle that does hit her immediately wraps around her slender waist. 10 hp, plus grappled
