![]() Hello--two questions about past orders. I ordered the Strategy Guide (order #3380642), and it's not showing in my sidecart (and I've not received it with a previous order). It is still showing as pending. Also--I purchased the Gebite Torture Table mini on November 6th, but it's not showing up as part of that order and it's been in my sidecart since. It was available at the time, and I paid for it per the email from Paizo. ![]()
![]() I've a question about the shipping discount. I have $137.64 worth of items in my cart (after discounts); when I go to my cart, I get the following message: First Ten Shipping
*Paizo will pay the first $10 in shipping and handling for any shipment of products totalling $100 or more. Is there a specific reason why I wouldn't be getting the discount? I continued the process to the next step (and applied the holiday discount) and there wasn't any shipping discount included. ![]()
![]() I'm running Crypt of the Everflame next month to start what I'm hoping to be an ongoing (if long-distance) campaign. I decided to create some character traits for the players; with one exception, they're all new players, and I thought this might give them some ideas on creating their PCs. I also wanted to encourage their characters to be heroic members of the Kassen community to justify them being selected as the heroes for the quest. Please let me know if anyone has any feedback (or, better yet, any additions)! ---------- Select one campaign trait during character creation. Include the associated details as appropriate as part of your character’s background Close Call: A local child went swimming in the river nearby, but was pulled under by the current. You were able to swim to her aid and bring her back to the shore, and you and your friends revived her. Pick one of the following skills: Heal or Swim. You gain a +1 trait bonus in that skill, and that skill is a class skill for you. Defense of Honor: Grimscar, a half-orc local known for picking fights, was harassing Asina at the Seven Silvers Tavern. You stood up to him, and ended up taking a serious punch from the hulking brute. Your stoic response to the best he could give caused Grimscar to back down; you have a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saving throws. Discerning Eye: You noticed that a traveling merchant was trying to buy what appeared to be a mundane item from Braggar Ironhame for a fraction of its value. You pointed out the item’s true value and unique qualities, preventing the stranger from taking advantage of the surly dwarf- and possibly making an enemy in the process. Pick one of the following skills: Appraise, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (religion) or Spellcraft. You gain a +1 trait bonus in that skill, and that skill is a class skill for you. Healing Touch: A local child ate an herb from the nearby Fang Wood and became very ill, collapsing in the town square. You used your knowledge to quickly purge the child of toxins and save her life. Pick one of the following skills: Heal, Knowledge (local), or Knowledge (nature). You gain a +1 trait bonus in that skill, and that skill is a class skill for you. Horse Whisperer: You have always had a way with animals- and it sometimes comes in handy. Recently, a saw horse nearly throw its rider. You were able to calm the animal and help the rider dismount safely. You gain a +1 trait bonus in Handle Animal, and the skill is a class skill for you. Nick of Time: You pushed Len Becker, the town drunk, out of the way of a cart just outside of town, saving his life. Your swift reactions have always had a tendency to serve you well, and grant you a +1 trait bonus on Reflex saving throws. Perseverence: A local child recently went missing in the nearby Fang Wood. While others stopped their search when night fell due to bad weather, and tried to convince you to stop, you persevered. You found the child several hours later and brought him home safely. Pick one: you gain a +1 trait bonus on Will saves, or you gain a +1 trait bonus in Survival, and the skill is a class skill for you. Showdown: You encountered a group of ruffians from out of town threatening a townsperson, and, through your strength of personality, got them to back down. Pick one of the following skills: Bluff or Intimidate. You gain a +1 trait bonus in that skill, and that skill is a class skill for you. ![]()
![]() Just happened to read the back cover of “Beyond the Vault of Souls,” and noticed a subtle change… Where the back cover of older products used to read that the modules were compatible with the "3.5 edition of the world's most popular roleplaying game," the new book says the "3.5 edition of the world's oldest roleplaying game." This must be in preparation for Pathfinder's inevitable ascendancy to the top of the heap... :) ![]()
![]() (I apologize in advance if this is a double post- think the boards ate my first one.) Over the weekend I changed my shipping to USPS Priority Mail for my subscriptions, but it seems that my latest order (#1215597, which includes the Pathfinder book) had already processed. In the interest of trying to get the book before I leave for GenCon, is it possible to change the shipping method for this order (to either Priority Mail or UPS)? Thanks for your help! ![]()
![]() ...if I could combine orders with my subscriptions. :) I know that it's been "on the list" forever now, but... it's been "on the list" forever now. It's been a frequent request from others, but I thought I'd add to the chorus- and see if the option is forthcoming. Right now, I've got a $70 subscription order coming next week, and have almost $100 in items in my shopping cart. I'd love to be able to combine at least some of those items into my subscription order. ![]()
![]() Would you mind double-checking the status on order #1103842? I placed the order on Christmas day (12/23),and it's showing as shipped on 12/31. I've not yet received it. I'd wait a few days normally, but I placed another order on 12/25 which was shipped a week later (1/7) which I received today. I was wondering if something might have gone awry due to the snowstorm. :) ![]()
![]() Hi, all... I'm getting ready to start a Mutants and Masterminds game, and part of the "prologue" will involve detention in and escape from an underground government base. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find usable plans that might represent even part of such a facility? I can come up with something, but would much rather spend my time on fleshing our the rest of the adventure rather than the details of the base... I just know that my players are going to end up going in an odd direction, and I want to be able to have some plans in front of me when they do. :) ![]()
![]() I'm looking for a Pathfinder group (or interested players) in the St. Louis area. I'm primarily seeking a group to be a player, but I'd be willing to DM if need be. I love DMing, but I got a taste of being a player at GenCon and want to play some more. :) I'm also going to be running the Pathfinder Society scenarios at a shop in the St. Peters area; I'll be sharing more details once the rest of the organized play information is released by Paizo. ![]()
![]() I've a few questions about how factions will work- this information may have come up before, but I've not seen it in the blogs or otherwise. -Is your character's faction affiliation openly known, or is it secret (within the context of the adventure/scenario)?

![]() I'm considering "rebooting" my AoW campaign with a new group, and would like to place it in Golarion. I've seen the other threads regarding placement of cities, etc. but was curious about how the overall plot might fit. Obviously Kyuss is not part of the pantheon, and there's no other "imprisoned god" currently identified in Golarion. I suppose that Kyuss (or a similar entity) could be used outside of the existing pantheon, but I'd love to hear others' thoughts about how to more effectively integrate the campaign into the Pathfinder setting. I'd really like to keep the close tie to undead, but I'm fine with dropping the worms altogether. :) ![]()
![]() I just received my subscription order (#935617)- I only received Pathfinder #9, and didn't receive the Gazetteer. I understood that they were shipping together (and it appears that way in my account information, although both books still show as "Shipping" per the question I asked yesterday). (I apologize if this ends up being a double post- the board ate the first one.) ![]()
![]() Just curious who had signed up for which scenarios and at what time(s) at GenCon. My group of four (including myself) signed up for: Scenario 1 (The Silent Tide), Friday at 1:00 PM
We're also signed up for the Writing for Paizo, Sticking with 3.5, and Pathfinder Adventure Path Preview seminars. We're considering signing up for one of the "early" scenarios, as well, but haven't quite decided yet. ![]()
![]() Monte Cook talks about his thoughts on buffs (especially at higher levels) in his blog here. I love these ideas, and think they make a lot of sense. In short, his suggestions: *Buff spells always add +2, but the duration is 24 hours. Once during the duration, you can perform an incredible deed using that ability score, adding +8 to one related roll.
He also discusses adding in low-level spells that can't be cast until PCs are high level, and that are designed so that they are permanent (i.e. in effect all day) but require the permanent sacrifice of a spell slot, as well. These would include buffs but also other minor at-will abilities or constant enhancements. It would be great if these, or similar, ideas could be included in Pathfinder. I think that these ideas offer pretty elegant solutions to some of the complaints people have about buffs and high-level casting- what do others think? ![]()
![]() When I try to access my Order History for my account, I get the following message: Sorry, there was a problem handling your request. The system administrator has been notified. Please contact customer.service@paizo.com if you continue to have difficulties. Not sure if this is a global issue, but it's been that way for the past few days. ![]()
![]() Wow, this article is giving me all sorts of adventure ideas... Thought I'd share. To summarize- a 2,000-year-old mechanical computer salvaged from a Roman shipwreck has been found to be an astronomical calendar capable of tracking with remarkable precision the position of the sun, several heavenly bodies, and the phases of the moon. The device uses a differential gear, which was previously believed to have been invented in the 16th century. The level of miniaturization and complexity of its parts is comparable to that of 18th century clocks. ![]()
![]() Is it possible to "add" additional items to ship with my monthly subscription shipments? I'll have a number of items shipping this month, and just wanted to add one more (the Into the Haunted Forest module). I started the process of purchasing the item, but there didn't appear to be an option to combine shipping with my other items that are in queue. ![]()
![]() On another recent thread, Marc Radle 81 asked for feedback regarding the Spell Compendium. I personally love the book, and I noticed a number individuals providing their favorites spells from the book. Given the size of the book and diversity of spells therein, I'm sure I've missed some of the best, or most useful, spells. What are the spells that the community thinks fall in into that category? What are your favorites? I suppose I'm not necessarily looking for the "powergamer" spells, but rather folks' thoughts on those spells that are different from those in the PHB, or fill niches for specific classes. Although- I'd be interested to hear if there are spells that have seem especially powerful as well, I suppose. :) ![]()
![]() I'm in the process of developing supporting materials for my ongoing campaigns, and want to make them as professional as possible (as much of it, such as my house rules, players guides, etc., I intend to use for quite some time). In the past, I've simply used Word to create documents, and then converted them to PDFs. I'd like something that's more robust, however, since that method is pretty limited. What software would folks recommend to create professional-looking documents (understanding that I'd have a bit to learn from a layout perspective)? Does anyone have any experience in this regard (on a non-professional basis or otherwise)? ![]()
![]() Monte Cook has announced that he's releasing "The Book of Experimental Might" on February 21st. I was one of the people that was clamoring for the book, and truly appreciate that he was willing to release his house rules- many of the rules he's mentioned in his blogs and forum posts seem to be exactly what I'm looking for in my campaign. This may very well become the basis for my "D&D 3.75" (since I don't plan to convert to 4E). Here's the link to the announcement: The Book of Experimental Might. ![]()
![]() I'm a Pathfinder/GameMastery subscriber, and I just happened to check the status of my order the other day. I found that the credit card that I'd used had expired in December, so that the original transaction hadn't gone through. I'd not received an e-mail or other notification to that effect, but I immediately corrected the problem by updating the expiration date on the card. That was several days ago- now it appears that the order is stuck in "Pending" status. Is this where it should be, or the order on hold waiting to be "pushed" through the system? If it's normal, it's fine- I was just concerned that the order may have been missed since it had dropped from the original batch of subscriber orders, and I'd not received any notification. ![]()
![]() How long are the Dungeon and Dragon PDFs currently available in Paizo's store going to be available? Is their availability going to be impacted by the transition (now or in the future)? And- will any more be made available, or is what's there already going to be it? I want to buy a bunch, but need to recover financially from GenCon if I can... :) Thanks in advance for your response. ![]()
![]() I've expressed my disappointment and sadness in other threads- however, I had a few questions for which I didn't see answers elsewhere... -When the magazines are no longer being produced, will the Dungeon and Dragon messageboards here at Paizo be unavailable? Will they be archived? There's a LOT of history, and a many great ideas, that would be lost if they were no longer available. -I saw this question asked elsewhere, but didn't see an answer- will PDFs for "out of stock" Dungeon or Dragon magazines still be produced? I'd think not, but it's wishful thinking on my part, I suppose... -Will currently available PDFs continue to be sold? ![]()
![]() Even before the Freeport books were released, I had an island city of pirates off the mainland in my campaign world. None of my PCs have ever been there, but they know that it used to be part of their kingdom until an upstart former paladin- now a self-styled "prince"- took it over about twenty years ago. After I got the Freeport books, I decided to use those to flesh out the city. Since there are so many similarities between my Freeport and the published Freeport, and the number of similarities both share with Alhaster, I'd like to use this city to replace Alhaster in my AoW campaign. It seems to work pretty well- except for the pirates, and the tone. I can't imaging the Blessed Angels (or Zeech, for that matter) would allow the sort of lawlessness associated with the (published) Freeport, nor does it have the sort of desparate, fascist feel that Alhaster has. I can make major changes, but I'd like folks' thoughts; getting rid of the swashbuckling pirate flavor of the city really defeats the purpose of using the Freeport material in the first place. ![]()
![]() I recall one or more adventures that featured half-dragon NPCs; I can't seem to dig them up. Specifically, I'm looking for a half-dragon with a black dragon parent, but I'm flexible... Does anyone recall which recent adventures featured them? As an aside- I intend to use a half-dragon NPC (a son/daughter of Ilthane, incidentally) as part of my Age of Worms campaign. I'm hoping to scavenge a stat block and/or portrait, if possible. :) ![]()
![]() <Potential spoiler alert!> What is Lashonna's motivation to help the PC's find Dragotha's phylactery, exactly? I've read and re-read the relevant adventures, and, while it seems she's trying to "eliminate her competition," it seems like getting rid of Dragotha is counter-productive to her other goals. Her goals are relevant as I'm modifying her (and Dragotha) slightly to fit into my campaign, and I'd like to have a better understanding of her reasons for supporting the PCs, even indirectly. ![]()
![]() Has the symbol for the Seekers (the eight-pointed star) been posted anywhere as an image? I know my players are going to ask about it when they come across it, and I'd love to be able to show them an image. I could probably make one, but if there's one out there already that would (obviously) be easier. :) |
