I'm also okay with either, as taking a break wouldn't be too bad right now because of my classload, but I'd still be game to start up again right away. It's up to Jinsa and what he was thinking, as well as if we want to wait for a caster.

As long as you wouldn't mind, I think that would be a wonderful idea

I agree with everyone, I'd love to try and keep this group together if we could. I'd be alright waiting, but it would also be fantastic to find another GM willing to accept our whole crew~

No worries on your end, Scott, because this was an incredible campaign and I completely understand that life can blow up in your face. Speaking from experience <3

It's been wonderful to play with everyone and I hope we can get the chance to play again! (Plus, I agree with Thordir, Fethril was an awesome character!)

Thank you to you all,
Abi

Abelia narrows her eyes at the elf but sighs and pulls out a small blade from one of her many pockets anyway.

"Keep it." She huffs out, not wanting any of that sludge in her jacket. She stops for a moment and then pulls out a bag and hands that to Fethril too. "But while you're at it, be a dear and take a sample, yeah?"

She then turns on her heel and joins Sab, not wanting to have anything to do with the troll at the moment.

I'd love to as well, this group has been one of the best I've played with, so as long as the GM is up for it, I'm in~

"Oh, don't get me wrong, I may be more than a little ticked with the guy, but history is always first. I'd love to get my hands on all that information," She pulls out her glasses and pushes them on, leafing through her notebook and muttering to herself through stutters about the revelations of history should she be able to unlock that undead's secrets.

"No matter how much I might want to explore that particular 'treasure trove', though, I have no idea how to go about it without either getting eaten or killed altogether. I'll definitely vote to take him with if possible, but from there I haven't a clue what to do." Abelia removes her glasses and looks at the body with a pout on her lips.

"Any ideas?"

*grumbling*
Constitution DC 10 Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Abelia lets out a strangled cough and groans, her eyes fluttering open as she hefts herself into a sitting position. Wincing, she presses a hand into her back and shoots a glare at Fethril.

"Well, excuse me...next time a ghoul rips me up, I'll keep in mind that I should prioritize snatching a few buttons before I pass out."

Slowly rising to her feet, she staggers slightly and winces again, whimpering at the state of her bloodied jacket. She sends the elf another glance and sticks her lower lip out in a pout. "But...thank you, for healing me. Really."

Rather than joining in solving their current troll issue, Abelia moves to examine anything in the room that could be helpful for their report as well as anything to clue them in on if they could expect more lovely surprises like the last one.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

I would like to think I've recovered, all things considered, but I didn't want to assume, just in case.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Psssssssssst...still on the floor...still dying...help me, GM...

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Abelia curses Elven curiosity in her sleep and wishes to the sweet and merciful Aroden above that she could bat his unwelcome fingers away with a satisfying slap. She wasn't a science experiment for goodness's sake, and she certainly wasn't in the best of moods at the moment. Her back was starting to hurt. The floor wasn't as nice as it was before. Very stiff. And cold.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Ooh, me too, GM. It would be really great if you could just pop in and let me know if I'm dying or no. But no pressure. It's cool. Take your time. I'm good bleeding on the floor for a bit longer, it's nice down here~ xD

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Well, Abelia can cast Countersong or do a general Bardic Performance, but she wasn't really built around being able to do that kind of stuff. She also wasn't necessarily built to do front line combat, but hey, that's fine.

Also, even if I wanted to try pulling off some sort of performance, I'm afraid it's a little too late xD If I wasn't useless before, I sure am now! Whoo 0 hp!

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

"Woah!" Abelia yelps as the ghoul snaps at her, diving slightly away and narrowly avoiding its jaws. She hears what it screams but fails to comprehend it until Jinsa gets her attention and Two Blades makes his reply and she quickly jumps to join his argument.

"Wait! We're not here to defile your crypts! We're here to right the wrongs of the Thrune! Let us help! We'll do everything we can to bring to light everything House Thrune buried so many years ago!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
I'll ready an arrow as well, considering it's unlikely they'll listen...And I can't roll ANYTHING useful xD...

Abelia draws her shortbow and quickly notches an arrow, determined this time to hit. "Eat this, if you're so hungry, you grotesque glutton"! She yells through gritted teeth as she lets the arrow fly, her words powerful and confident, the lack of stutter surprising.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Abelia calls out in alarm and immediately begins notching a bow. "Be careful everyone! That's a ghoul! Don't let it touch you, it paralyzes everything except elves!"

She pulls her bow back and fires at the ghoul, ignoring second creature for now.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

If Successful:
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

All the wait for this roll and I roll a natural one and get a five. I can't get a solid hit in this game!

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

"I've only seen images...and even then, the tomes that documented such pieces were highly damaged and in ruin. I'd love to take the helmet with me to study...such a p-piece would be absolutely unpre-pre-precedented!

"But...something feels wrong about it. The construction from multiple skeletons seems purposeful, as if to build the helmet its own pedestal. I doubt we could just snatch it up...so if you do decide to approach, Sab...I would exercise extreme caution..."

She turns her attention away from the throne toward the hallway and glances between her sunrod and the bars blocking the way. "Let's see if we can shed some light on this...shall we?" She then pulls her arm back and whips the rod as far as she can get it down the hallway.

Throwing the sunrod (1 lb.): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 I just used a regular ranged attack - I'm not sure if there's a better way to roll for it or not.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Would I be able to roll my sunrod to the end of the hallway or do the bars prevent me from doing that?

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Abelia quickly sets about pulling out a sunrod from one of her dozens of pockets and helps to illuminate the room, "T-these drawings are incredible! It's a history written in blood...j-just how desperate were these creatures...?"

She pulls out a notebook and starts sketching some of the drawings, mumbling to herself and jotting down any information she can see from her position. Once satisfied, she pockets the book and holds the rod higher, scanning the ground with the rest of her team for any problems in the area, namely the path that would lead her to the hallway.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Once safely down, Abelia does a quick check of everyone's state as well as their surroundings, pulling out her glasses and jotting down a few notes about the area they seemed to land in and the dilapidated state of the building itself.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

"Is everyone alright? I see Fethril has graced us all with a magnificent display of healing our dear Two Blades." She says jokingly, winking over her wire glasses at the elf. "I may not be as efficient, but I'd be glad to assist with anyone else needing a pick-me-up."

Her hand disappears into one of the many pockets of her jacket and Abelia miraculously pulls out an identical wand, knowing exactly which one it had been in.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Abelia looks back at Thordir and struggles to explain a little better, "I-I tried to tell you...th-they have the ability to, say, give back to their environment when they die. T-that's why they explode like that, to protect their territory even in d-death!"

She scurries back toward the wall, heeding Two Blade's advice, but finds that the final leshy is quite a distance from her. Still determined to make a solid hit, she readies her bow and attemps yet another shot.

Gah, sorry, I left my laptop at my friend's house by accident and meant to use another device but it totally slipped my mind! Sorry!

Abelia watches Sab come to defend her, grateful for the support. "Thanks Sab! I'm alright, just wishing I could get a solid hit on one of these bastards already!"

She draws her bow once more and readies her shot at the yellow leshy.

"Oh, shoot! Be careful, everyone! These are gourd leshies! We're trespassing on their territory! They don't do much damage if you see them coming, but they'll cause a burst of growth for all nearby plants when you kill them."

Abelia notches an arrow and draws her bow, aiming at the nearest leshy.

Abelia trails slightly behind the rest of the group, keeping her eyes wide open while simultaneously keeping track of the rest of her group members. While she doesn't particularly like engaging in combat, she's always prepared to defend her companions, her hand at the ready on her bow.

With Sab and Jinsa there to assist her, the packing of the equipment goes relatively quickly and Abelia happily jots down everything they'd take with them. Tapping her pencil on her clipboard, her gaze drifts to her tiny companion trying to lift a heavy box out of the way, wincing as she does so.

"Hey, uh...Sab? You seem pretty beat up from earlier, would you mind if I did something to help?" She pulls out the wand she'd been given earlier and begins casting upon Sab's permission.

Abelia nods to Cassian in understanding and moves her attention to the rest of the group, noting that there was a rather begrudging undertone to the idea of collecting their things without being convicted of attempted murder...among other things.

"Alright, guys!" She tried her best to force her voice to sound overly chipper as she clapped her hands together. "Those supplies won't pack themselves. Who's with me to go pack them up? I promise I'll do all the boring inventorying, so you don't have to worry about it." Despite calling the work boring, the way her eyes shone and she bounced on her feet gave the impression she really didn't mind doing the inventorying.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Bard/1 | HP 9/9 | Init +3; Per +6 | AC 15, T 13, FF 12 | F +1, R +5, W +3

Hey guys! I'm finally home - I would have been back yesterday but I got stuck in Canada overnight because they lost my entire group's luggage (50 bags, btw...) and you can't get through customs without it! I kept in contact a bit to direct Abelia, but I couldn't post. I wanted to try some mind-magic to help with the whole attempted murder thing, but I think it's a bit too late for that! Whoops! I'll do my best to get back into the current swing of the game, though.

Abelia bounces on the balls of her feet, eager to get to the gear and all of their equipment back as soon as possible. She focuses her gaze on Cassian and appears to consider her words before actually saying them. "No chance we could get you to come with, is there?"

"Retreat now! There's no sense in continuing this, you're at a severe disadvantage and there are real threats you should be attending to!" Abelia calls out, making eye contact with the nearest guard.

Additionally, I feel like this campaign did a wonderful job with the roleplay side of roleplay-vs-rollplay in setting this up and there was a carefully strung minefield of events that had the opportunity to go good or bad. I kinda feel like we just ran right over them and they blew up in our faces, sooooooo...I think it's going great! What about you guys?

Scarab Sages

"Trust me, Fethril, if one dagger actually kills a legitimate guard, I was most certainly not their biggest problem!" She yells back, already preparing herself for a retreat.

I'm not one for violence like this...especially if it would damage our reputation at such an early point...but at the same time, I would imagine being injured or incapacitated this early would be especially bad for anyone actually suited for combat in this group. Meaning not me. Something gives me the feeling that rest of our journey will be anything but easy...and if we get arrested at this point I'm faaaairly sure that will do some damage to the Society as well...so...

Previews to make sure everything is formatted correctly, sees that GM updated 47 seconds earlier, goes ahead and rewrites everything she just wrote. Yay.

Abelia runs out of the door and sees the two guards already charging Two Blades and she draws her daggers out of her seemingly bottomless pockets. She targets the nearest guard (both are 30ft away, so eh, your choice) and whips one at him.

Not entirely sure how you want me to format this - never done it in PBP before, so if you'd like me to change something, just let me know. Btw, the bonus comes from Point-Blank Shot.

Two things: can you see the hidden door anywhere on the map? And which roll is Abelia's for the tie breaker? I assume it's the first one (6), but it feels right to just double check.

The brunette claps her hands together excitedly, but upon realizing the slight faux pas at the tense situation, she blushes, "O-oh, I a-apologize. I don't mean to be so easily excited...but Sab is quite right. If you would grace me with any knowledge of Cheliax that I couldn't find elsewhere, I would be eternally grateful! But regardless of my personal interests, your safety takes precedence. I worry the Rack is close behind us."

As far as I can tell, we're all pretty good at working together, which is a huge part of any kind of game like this. Usually there's that "one guy" that just tries to steer the whole game off course for his/her own amusement and it really ruins a lot of the immersion. But this group is really into being in character and there are so many great touches that people bring, so it's easily on of my favorite games I've been in, and we've barely started! I'm really looking forward to all the game to come!

And my exams have now finished, so I'm not going to be juggling those while trying to keep updated, so yay!

"It is in no way wise," Abelia levels her gaze to Fethril's, "But it is necessary. I am not making the promise out of anger, just determination. I'm not letting those bastards take another innocent person because of me. My emotions have nothing to do with it, it's just a fact.
She pauses for a moment and flits her gaze away, "Although I suppose I have to remember that it's not just me this time. I thank you for your insight, Fethril, but this is a promise I need to make. For my own sanity, at least. Hellknights are no walk in the park. And we need to leave. Now."
She gives both Fethril and Jinsa small smiles to try and assure them she's fine and she passes off the address to Jinsa, "Can you destroy this while we're waiting for the first group to leave?"

Abelia sends a rather pointed look toward Fethril when he makes his comment but chooses to not add to his derailing of the conversation and just keeps lookout for any movement of the guards. She listens closely to Zafiro and offers her hand to take the slip of paper from Two Blades and tries to identify the location based on what she learned from the locals earlier.
"Thank you so very much, Zafiro, sir. I know that we may seem like a gaggle of adventurers just looking to snag fame or whatnot, and I am deeply sorry for any negative connotations or consequences our visit has brought you, but I ask you -- I beg you -- to look past that. We are an honest group of people looking to restore history to the way it should be, undamaged by those ashamed of the truth it speaks. I know of the Order of the Rack. I've dealt with them before. They've destroyed my research, imprisoned my partner, and taken valuable artifacts from the hands of Pathfinders and archaeologists alike. I know what they're like. And you can trust me when I tell you that both you and Mireille will be safe, I won't let any harm come to either of you. You may hold me personally responsible if anything should happen.
She clutches the note with the address on it and levels her gaze with Zafiro's, looking at him seriously.
"I'll get her to this safe house, you have my word. I won't let any harm come to her, for the sake of her value as a historical asset..." She pauses for a moment and looks meaningfully at the curator, "And for the sake of her value to you."
She then turns to Two Blades and addresses him, "Shall I follow you or lead the next group in a few minutes?"

Abelia finally steps forward into the room and looks to Zafiro, "Don't worry, we'll make sure no harm comes to you, nor to your loved ones. We greatly appreciate your assistance and would never purposely do anything to endanger you. Should anything come of our visit, trust that we'll keep you safe. We were just following instructions, so you'll have to forgive us if we were blind to a danger we haven't yet noticed."
She then steps away and begins to survey the room for any signs of danger or threats.

Speaking of no wireless access, I just want you to know that from the 20th to the 29th this month my dad and I are going to China with my school and I have no idea what the wireless will be like. It's only when she's nervous or geeking out over everything archaeological. She has good focus so long as she's not freaking out about something, so you don't have to worry about too much stuttered dialogue. I know it gets annoying to read.

I did; previously I've only played tabletop, so I had to start all of my character creation over again. But yes, she is listed as (Core), but I may switch her over to regular before I level her up.

Abelia catches up with the rest of the group after the guards finished fishing around in the gear aboard the ship and watched as Cassian walked away with a clear purpose, one that she hadn't yet deciphered. She joined Sab's side and sent a grateful glance towards Fethril for his staying by her side.

She directs her attention to Thordir who was currently meandering about the crowd looking for information and wonders if she should join him. He looked as if he was well enough off, but she decided to ask a few passing guards regardless.

The dark haired explorer raises an eyebrow when the deputy makes such a lengthy notation but says nothing. When he holds his hand out for her weapons, she glances at them one last time before grimacing and handing them over. "B-be careful with those..." She said, her speech impediment poking out as her nervousness heightened now that she was missing her bow. "I've had them for a long time."

When he hands her the receipt, she offers a gentle smile and takes it, slipping it purposefully into the leather pouch at her waist.

She gives Deputy Credence a gentle smile when he shows an interest and she nods, "Yes, actually, I am. I was recruited earlier this year into the Society, but I was an independent for quite a few years."

Abelia helps a few of the questioning deputies and guards identify various archaeology tools and equipment before turning to the halfling at the front of the ship and looking at him with a serious but polite enough expression.

"Abelia Havenstar; archaeologist and historian, here to explore and document some abandoned ruins in the Eismont Mountains. Just taking a quick stop for some additional information to jumpstart my research, that way it goes faster and I take up less of your valuable time."

She allows them to search her, her daunting amount of pockets and bags from her large jacket and toolkits making it hard to tell what exactly she was carrying. They gave a quick glance at her shortbow and she shrugged, "I could declare that, but just know it's saved my life many a time." She shows the arrows with rudimentary rope tied to them, used for rappeling.

She is carrying a magical container and a variety of thieves tools, but they are mixed in well with her basic archaeological equipment and her bard's kit that they're not obvious unless they specifically look for them.

The moment Abelia stepped on board, she spotted the archaeologist equipment and made a run for it. She immediately began taking an inventory and figuring out how to best split it up based on all of the adventurer's body types and what they looked like they could carry on their persons. She appeared very pleased with how well stocked the tools were as well as how well prepared they ship seemed for their return trip.

She offered Cassian a polite smile and a nod of her head but chose not to bother him, as he looked like he'd rather keep entirely to himself.

She busied herself throughout the duration of the trip getting to know her fellow adventurers and trading various incredible stories from their previous expeditions.

Abelia smiles kindly at the young woman when she enters her room, and listens closely to her request.

"I would be honored to. And don't mind Fethril too much, he doesn't appear to mean any harm; and if anyone could prove to him that she's worthy of being a Pathfinder, I'd bet you could. There's no need to point fingers at and taunt him, he's just still learning what it's like to...communicate properly, I suppose."

The dark haired woman takes the wand delicately and slips it into a large pocket in her jacket with care.

Abelia can cast CLW, and she would be happy to help!

Abelia also is ready to go, she doesn't need anything at this time.
