Hey guys, just trying to write in character. The goal is to have fun, so PLEASE let me know if my character is interfering with your enjoyment. I can always dial it down.

same. And if my guy seems a little racist towards elves. its more because he had lived a very sheltered life style.
| GM Lamplighter |
I forgot to post my usual spiel for this game, which relates to what Fethril has raised.
I encourage roleplaying, but I reserve the right to tell people to tone down various aspects when they may conflict with other PCs. Of course, if you feel that someone else's RP is interfering with your enjoyment of the game, please let me know - but I won't always wait for a "complaint" to make a suggestion like this. It looks like this group has a pretty good handle on talking it out, so I'm not too worried, but do feel free to contact me privately if issues arise.
I will say that I don't want to see really overt racism, sexism, or other "-ism" roleplayed - it's fine to have rivals or not get along, and Jinsa's thought of having lived a sheltered life is fine, but I don't like to have to read stuff that is offensive, even in jest.
Again, if anyone has an issue, you can always raise it with me.
I have to say, I'm really looking forward to this game, the mix of characters and the RP skill I'm seeing is fantastic!

I have checked the knowledge rolls. i think we had mised a +5 in my knowledge (local) skill. that roll should be a 16. Is not a great roll, but maybe I know something else.

is fethril wearing anything that makes him easily noticeable as a cleric?

First time with the play by post here and was wondering how to edit the character in order to show AC, hit points, etc.
When you go to edit profile, put gender in the gender slot. The race in the race slot. Then class and level in the appropriate slot followed by any other information you want to display

Hey guys, I just felt like asking if I should play my character in any certain way I'm not. I moved her over to core and switched her from rogue to bard, but I've never played a bard before so I don't really know if I should be doing something different...

I actually enjoy the way you are playing your character. Especially the little quirks she has.

Digging the archaeology approach (pun kind of intended). Bards are all about the knowledge (and traditionally the face out of combat) and usually buffing as a priority in combat. I like that Pbp allows for more role playing than a 4 to 5 hour session would allow. You are doing great and have a fleshed-out character.

Well, I am a bit conflicted. I can understand the stuttering when stressed out but hope that it does not occur that often. PFS, it would not be a problem but in a home game, I can see a GM having you roll a concentration check in the middle of battle to get off a spell.
You mention that you moved her from a rogue to a bard, and state that you moved her to core, does you character have (Core) next to their name when you look then at "My pathfinder Society"?

It's only when she's nervous or geeking out over everything archaeological. She has good focus so long as she's not freaking out about something, so you don't have to worry about too much stuttered dialogue. I know it gets annoying to read.
I did; previously I've only played tabletop, so I had to start all of my character creation over again. But yes, she is listed as (Core), but I may switch her over to regular before I level her up.

Sorry for my silence. I have some unavoidable commitments lasts days and I could not conect as often as I would wish. Now everything has returned to normality and I can post without issues.

Nah, you're good. I figured it was something like that. Speaking of no wireless access, I just want you to know that from the 20th to the 29th this month my dad and I are going to China with my school and I have no idea what the wireless will be like. I'll remind you when it's closer, but I just felt like warning you ahead of time.

Yeah, I have NO IDEA if we will succeed, but I think we will have a good time trying to. Lots of great role playing. This is why I enjoy the Pbp for PFS, you get time to play and develop characters in ways that table top scenarios simply do not have time for.

I do agree, being able to really get into character is great. Something that can not be done in a 4 hour window.

As far as I can tell, we're all pretty good at working together, which is a huge part of any kind of game like this. Usually there's that "one guy" that just tries to steer the whole game off course for his/her own amusement and it really ruins a lot of the immersion. But this group is really into being in character and there are so many great touches that people bring, so it's easily on of my favorite games I've been in, and we've barely started! I'm really looking forward to all the game to come!
And my exams have now finished, so I'm not going to be juggling those while trying to keep updated, so yay!

Additionally, I feel like this campaign did a wonderful job with the roleplay side of roleplay-vs-rollplay in setting this up and there was a carefully strung minefield of events that had the opportunity to go good or bad. I kinda feel like we just ran right over them and they blew up in our faces, sooooooo...I think it's going great! What about you guys?

Use wands provokes attacks of opportunity?
Yes, using a wand would provoke an AoO, just like casting a spell normally, but the guard is currently wielding a longsword, so he won't be able to reach you past Yen Jinsa if you move over to heal him or if Abelia does so instead.
By the way, sorry to Yen and Abelia that you two got stuck by yourselves with Yellow over there. Seems like he's probably been doing the most damage of all the guards and you two aren't exactly tanks. Hope I'm in time to help out!

Well, that's what I get for trying to be rules-smart. I get shown up by the GM. Haha. Thanks for the correction, Lamplighter. Or should I say, thanks for the "enlightenment"? Haha.

Hey there, folks. Just so you know, my in-laws are gonna be in town with us for the next week so I may not post as regularly. If it goes too long, feel free to bot me. I'll try to get in at least one post/weekday as usual if I can. If I'm not able to check in, hope any of you fellow Americans have a good 4th and that the rest of you enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for moving me! Just touched it up a bit, though, as I intended to be off the pillar after my movement, pretty much where Abelia is now. Sorry I didn't say that more clearly.

I thought I took out the red leshy with my last attack. It's fine if I'm mistaken, but the previous round's post indicated that I cleaved another gourd-y head from its shoulders, so I figured that probably meant the thing was dead. Just trying to make sure I act appropriately this round.
