February-March Additional Resources

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

In addition to working on the latest scenarios, the Pathfinder Society team's been reviewing the many exciting new player options published in February and March. These cover Pathfinder #139: The Dead Roads (which has a remarkable amount of player content), Pathfinder #140: Eulogy for Roslar's Coffer, and Pathfinder Player Companion: Heroes of Golarion. All told, it's a huge number of character options, including some choice pieces for rarely-supported player races like shabtis, wyrwoods, and duskwalkers. We've pulled together all of our Additional Resources and Campaign Clarifications updates (including a few developer clarifications from the Heroes of Golarion product discussion thread), which should be updated on the website soon. In addition to these books' new content, there are a few minor changes being implemented:

  • The misnamed "Martial Artist's Handbook" title has been corrected to "Martial Arts Handbook"
  • The Pathfinder RPG Planar Adventures entry addressing alternate ganzi abilities has been revised to remove the ambiguity of which options are legal.

We watch both the Additional Resources Updates thread and the Compilation of Campaign Clarification Requests thread to identify errors or additional clarifications to address, so please do note there if you find an issue that we need to address. All the while, Michael Sayre's been leading the charge in reviewing the next set of books for our April update, and Linda Zayas-Palmer is tirelessly developing the final multi-table interactive special for the first edition campaign of Pathfinder Society.

There's no immediate sanctioning news, though after wrapping up our current scenarios, a few team members have openings to handle the likes of 2019 Free RPG Day Pathfinder RPG scenario We Be Heroes and Pathfinder Module Cradle of Night.

I see you have remarked upon the remarkable player content in #139, John. :-)

Throughout the Tyrant's Grasp AP, we've been keen to build in more first edition player options--as we soon won't have the opportunity any longer!

Gotta say, Ron, it's always nice seeing some GM stars or novas next to a colleague's name.

I've read Campaign Clarifications, but it seems some of the issues that discussed in Heroes of Golarion's thread are still unsolved.
I want to know whether another eratta would come or not.
If there aren't, I'll make some judge for my players.

Which unresolved concerns are you citing?

I got my PDF and some article semms to need eratta...

Some Shifter's Aspect should include Major form's attack number and type, but there aren't. Especially, I wonder about Lion form's attack. Unlike Dynoneichs, does Lion form get rake attacks in addition to two claws and one bite attacks at LV4?

And about Vigilante's Talent Animal Patron, when the vigilante should select what minor form would be applied? they can choose each time starting minor form? and for the purpose of determining the effect, considering Shifter levels equal Vigilante level?

I understand that there are many things to do before PF2 release...but I really like this supplement and if official eratta would be updated, I appreciate.

phoenix bloodline can heal allies through fire spells but half of normally dealed damages.
And at 3rd level, your unarmed attacks deal +1d6 fire damage.
At 9th level, as a standard action, you can grow wings of pheonix from your back.

I think yohko’s concerns are:

1. The horse, lion, and giant wasp shifter Aspect Major Form entries do not include information on type of attacks or the damage those attacks do.

2. The Animal Patron vigilante talent does not include language such as “The vigilante must choose one animal aspect upon gaining this talent. Once chosen, the aspect can not be changed.” leaving room for a possible interpretation that the vigilante can select a different aspect each time he activates the ability.

Thanks,Kevin.
In addition to the post above, Lion's aspect doesn't mention which action should be used for "mighty roar" to demoralize enemies.
And Animal Patron vigilante talent doesn't cite whether vigilante can gain further minor shift development.(word such as"vigilante treat her vigilante class lever as shifter level for this talent")

I understand that you are busy and working on next production, so if further clarification are not planned, it's OK.
Given this blog post, my players believe there will be some updating and under such circumstance, it's difficult to tell my players that my own interpretation is the final one.
