the mystery race is a little bit too "modern" for my taste,
Really? It made me all nostalgic for the Umber Hulk illustration in AD&D 2E. I always wanted to play one of those...
If you're a centaur cavalier, what do you get instead of a mount?
I'd bet on counting as mounted for things like lance charges, and getting to ignore Mounted Combat as a prerequisite. Things like that.

I'd bet on it. I always wanted to add large player races to my campaign but there were too many issues that cropped up.

I just hope the Catfolk art still makes them look human in the face like in the Bestary 3 art and not like a cat's head on a human body.
Maybe the Kitsune art will have nine tails.
Hopefully the art for the Halfling will be female.
I really hope that some of the new race examples in race building chapter will have a plant based one, fey type one, a distant worlds rthemed one, and maybe a construct one.

pretty sure you are looking at "distant worlds" one

A significant other?
Lol, kinda make sense.
Especially with the 1 rank in the Ride skill needed for Mounted Combat.
So easy to make kinky jokes with that.

Interesting.
You don't fool me. He's an Abominable HuggieBear (arachnoid variant of an owlbear).
Abominable Hug (Ex): As per Grab, except the target must save each round or become nauseated as the Abominable HuggieBear hugs him and pets him and squeezes him and pats him and pets him and names him George.

I love the mystery race it looks like the mantis trikeen like D&D. I hope its a playable race. The art looks more like a umber hulk and less like a tyranid. As for the comments about not liking it because it's a less human race who cares there are many places in the Pathfinder RPGS setting and Ebberron. A good GM can adapt it to any game. Fantasy isnt always Dwarf, human, elf, gnome, how boring that would be. Fantasy has to evolve to keep your players interested..

Kaer Maga might be a good place for unusual races, as the city is pretty much built in as a grimily cosmopolitan location where members of all sorts of races have agreed to live together in rowdy 'harmony'.
The Shackles might work too, just in my initial readthrough of the Skulls and Shackles path and the extras along with it, you have diverse entities like Hobgoblins, Cyclopses and Ogres interacting. I can imagine, say, a Crab-man on a pirate crew.
Katepesh might work too. They have gnolls going into cities there to trade in loot and slaves. With the Pactmasters working to insure trade betweeen all willing to trade; there's probably a pretty firm rule in the area that it doesn't matter what you look like, so long as you're into capitalism.
