I had actually thought of something like this myself as being fun. I'm not really into most anime or Manga (No offense to those that are) but there is a lot of amusing fiction period about people ended up dying in one world and arriving in new adventuring bodies and it could be fun.

You could even make a list of Campaign Traits based on past life profession or attitudes.

For example:
Customer Service Survivor - You worked Customer Service, put in that delicate position of the front line so those in power never had to actually talk to those they had displeased. Sometimes the complaints were legit, other times it was based on utterly insane expectations. Either way, it serves you well in your new life as you gain a +1 on either Diplomacy or Bluff and which ever you choose is a class skill for you.

Code Monkey is Scroll Monkey- You wouldn't think computer programming and coding would help in a fantasy world, but for you it has translated well. You get a +1 to any spellcraft rolls identifying spell scrolls, and if you take the Scribe Spell feat you find you can create in half the time.

Through the X-Mas grinder- You worked retail during the heaviest holiday seasons there were, with screaming brats, demanding parents ,and bosses who didn't understand why you weren't selling ALL the junk they wanted you to sell. They did not break you, and you have gained a +1 on all Will saves. It's possible you have nightmares about the same yuletide songs cycling over and over.

Free From Copyright- You either did Karaoke as a hobby, or were part of a cover band, or maybe just were the life of a party now and then but you are in a new world where no one has heard of Elvis, the Beatles, or Queen. This means you can blatantly claim you invented any song, poem, or whatever you want. You have Performance (or Artistry) as a class skill... may the god of music be very forgiving.

And so on though I'd probably cap it at 10 choices for 'campaign Isekai traits' tops.

So I guess I'm saying I might be interested. :)

Ah this reminds me of a game i played before. Sure i am interested

This looks like a lot of fun. I am interested.

Dotting with interest

Something that could be a good twist, is that character generation is not full selection, but controlled chaos.

As I have a PB-Dice hybrid system for stat generation (random stats, but no power gaps between players), and I've run a game where race and class are semi-randomised, which all the players enjoyed giving a try at building a character from some predefined parts handed to them by fate.

The semi-random aspect in a away mimics Isekai where the person had a new body outside of their control like;
That time I was reincarnated as a Slime
and
I reincarnated as a spider, so What
among others,
Though with KonoSuba he reincarnated as himself....

I can easily see how I'd lay out the Character Creation rules (as I've GMed on the boards for a long time) to fit most Isekai novels, Manga, and Anime (I have a ton of them I've read, or seen), as I know a number of options that would work well with it, and how to balance them....

I can offer my input for Character creation rules, TheNine, if you want some of my ideas on it.

fate is a good system but I wunder of Call of Cthulhu system could be fun.

I love the long names they have

"She Woke Up in the Stone Age and Used Modern Knowledge to Grow Her Tribe into a Civilized Empire!"

for one.

Having isekai Characters meet each other makes me think of...

Isekai Quartet

If you request a game based on a that Novel series,

then I request;
The Rising of the Shield Hero (Light Novel)
That time I was reincarnated as a Slime (Light Novel)
I reincarnated as a spider, so What (Light Novel)
Log Horizon (Light Novel)
Surviving The Game As A Barbarian (Webtoon)
The Eminence in Shadow (Light Novel)
Tsukimichi-The moonlight fantasy (Light Novel)
Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There (Light Novel)
KonoSuba (Light Novel)
Combatants Will be Dispatched (Light Novel)
By the Grace of the Gods (Light Novel)
and I have many others on my list as a option for the request.

So to avoid this type of crap, We should all avoid requesting the GM for a specific novel/Manga/Anime series to base the game on.

The GM might be wanting to make their own isekai world.

It sounds like TheNine does have a list of what he wants to run we'll just have to see what it is.

Scarab Sages

I have a whole world ready to go and 9 different ways to die that have different bonuess. I have a list of patron gods to work for, and some fun bonus skills themeed per god.

One of the nations in the world treat everything like a stage.. you dopnt go on quests through the adventuring guild... you go through scripts... etc

Looks like we have enough interest in my idea so i will get a post up for full recruitment on the morrow

working on a modified magic system that uses points instead of memorized spells to make it more like a game world. So aside from healing potions there will be mana potions as well.

the difference between sorcerors and wizards will be something. Like im thinking (still working out the full details) that a sorceror has like in normal rules only acces to the spells they get anturally but they cost less. whiel i wizard can purchases spells, but they cost more. casting feats like say maximized add a certain number of points to the spell.

Also... certain items in game make it possible for even non casting classe to get access to some low level magics.

Off to lunch with my sister, when i get back it will be to post the pantheon... (my personal favorite might be Meh'Thulu elder god of indifference)

Death by Gas Station Sushi it is!

Hey, I'd definitely be interested in this, but it seems like you already have nearly double the number of people you said you'd like to take. Is this now a recruitment thread? I don't want to be the most recent person to enter the thread and take someone's spot who posted earlier because I rolled for a cause of death before they did.

That said...

And a Sonic attack when close to death is way cool for a bard.

GM Panic here are the two i have. you do not have ot choose them.

Opening Theme Bard (Archetype)
You were reincarnated as the literal soundtrack of destiny. Your performances are anime openings that shape the tone of battle, grant genre-based buffs, and occasionally break the fourth wall.
Class Features
Opening Theme Bard replaces the following Bard features:
- Bardic Performance
- Versatile Performance
- Inspire Courage
- Inspire Competence

Bardic Performance (Modified)
At 1st level, an Opening Theme Bard gains the ability to perform Opening Themes, musical performances that evoke specific anime genres. These function as Bardic Performance but with the following options:

| Shonen Anthem | |Action Genre| Allies gain +1morale bonus to attack and damage rolls
|Slice-of-life | |Healing| Allies gain 1d4 hp per round for 10 rounds, and gain +2 saves vs. fear
|Mecha March | |Defense| Allies gain +1AC and DR1/-
|Magical Girl Sparkle| |Support| Allies gain +2 to charisma based skills and +1 to caster levels.
At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, the bard may choose one additional genre to perform. These performances scale in potencyevery 3 levels.
Versatile Performance (Replaced)
At 2nd level, the Opening Theme Bard gains Genre Versatility. Choose one Perform skill. You may use it in place of Diplomacy and Sense Motive checks, but only when referencing your chosen genre (e.g., Mecha March for military NPCs, Slice-of-Life Melody for townsfolk).
Theme Song (Su)
At 6th level, you gain a personal theme song. Once per day, you may perform it as a full-round action to grant all allies within 30 feet a +2 morale bonus to all d20 rolls for 1 round per Bard level. This performance can be used even while silenced, as long as you dramatically gesture.
Encore (Ex)
At 10th level, once per day when an ally fails a saving throw or attack roll, you may shout “Encore!” and allow them to reroll. This ability recharges if you perform your theme song during a climactic moment (GM’s discretion).

Harem Harmonizer Bard (Archetype)

You were reincarnated as a dating sim chareecter and now your music causes emotional chaos. Your performances charm, confuse, and occasionally summon romantic rivals into combat.
Class Features
Harem Harmonizer replaces the following Bard features:
- Bardic Performance
- Versatile Performance
- Suggestion
- Dirge of Doom
Bardic Performance (Modified)
At 1st level, a Harem Harmonizer gains the ability to perform Romantic Tropes, musical performances that evoke dating sim clichés. These function as Bardic Performance but with the following options:
|Love Triangle Tango| |Jealousy| One enemy must make a saving throw or be forced to attack another enemy out of jealousy.being struck grants another saving throw
|Tsundere Ballad| |Mixed Signals| Allies gain +2 to bludd and sense motive enemies suffer the same but as a -2 penalty
|Confession Crescendo| |Heartfelt| One alley gains +4 to charisma based checks for 1 minute
|Rivals'Theme| |Summonsa 1 HD illusionary 'rival' that distracts one enemy (Will negates)|
These performances scale in DC and effectiveness with Bard level
Versatile Performance (Replaced)
At 2nd level, the Harem Harmonizer gains Emotional Versatility. Choose one Perform skill. You may use it in place of Bluff and Diplomacy checks, but only when attempting romantic or emotionally charged interactions.
Reverse Harem (Su)
At 10th level, you may summon 1d4 illusory romantic rivals once per day. These illusions distract enemies, grant flanking bonuses, and can be used to trigger Jealousy Duet. They last for 1 minute and vanish in a puff of rose petals.

If you want stat blocks for the summoned rivals, alternate genre expansions, or to turn these into prestige classes or mythic paths, I’m ready to riff deeper. Want to build a bardic college where reincarnated pop idols duel for divine favor? Let’s go full anime.

You can defy them of course your boons will be reduced and some other penalties. I do have loose plans if this is what someoen wants to do. but despite them being "bad" they are prety harmless bad so dont go thinking you have to grow a villan mushtache and work on your evil laugh.

Also clerics are just like a job. You dont have to be attached to any particular god.

Dilton was determined to win the science fair....

...a gun that fired heat-seeking burrowing bullets that then exploded.

His prototype was finished....time to test it out...he went into the woods and aimed it at a squirrel in a tree 150 feet away...he fired the shot...it was working...but then the bullet slowed down...then started heading straight for Dilton..."I forgot to account for my body heat being a bigger heat source than the rodent's." was the last thought Dilton had....before waking up in a new body...in a different world...

Dilton then noticed he was wearing clothes that he was not familiar with, extended his arms to get a better idea of what he was wearing...apparently some sort of fringed jacket sequined with star sapphires of various colors, "I guess hiding is not an option. Now where in tarnation am I?" Dilton scans his surroundings, "This does not seem like Hell, aside the fashion sense. Oz?"

Scarab Sages

For the most part you dont have to be the perfect ideal of the god who chose you for this gig. You just have to sort of agree to help the quest they want you to do. wont be too terrible since they are all sort of going torwards the same goal just you know in their own way. It will be explained in the charector creations stage,

Just a fun little backstory is all im going for right now, get an idea of who you are as a person. and all that

Scarab Sages

I should have made a formal recruiting page, It is for classes core + Alchemist, cavalier, gunslinger, inquitoer, and witch options

Mostyly cause while i have been working on this off and on for a few months now, i havent worked on any of the other advanced classes for ideas.

as for races.... while it makes it easier if you go core, Im open to featured and maybe some of the uncommons, I was going to talk about the beastkin race in this world too.... but thats a fil out your form and negotiate with you patron sort of request.

With Best folk in play, that then lets me think she can be a,

Oni {Tiefling}, Rakshasa-Spawn (Beastbrood)
Oni Bard of love Choices and Emotional chaos.

MAGE HERE

Now I have be careful here, I do want to have a PC that plays well with others. So I am aiming for playful, trixter over moody emo gloom lord.
She dose not have a dark pact or evil bone in her body, she is just a little playful and loves to play games. while not being a total flake.
She does care for others, and dose not want to do any real harm unless someone or thing endangers her or others she cares about.

Scarab Sages

dont worry your goddess will make it clear that you have to play well with the other heroes or Dhoom will happen

Toasteron

Hmmm. Chaos and Technology...

Wonder what I can make with this

Would advanced or more modern firearms be okay? As I be able to be crafted

This could also be fun for the theme combined with Holy Gun

So I'm thinking college student Chemistry/Biology double major, with a love of fantasy novels and a bit of a thing for monsters. Will likely go with Alchemist.

Ridge here, and I think I found a concept that fits one of the two gods I rolled that i like or at least am amused by.

He'll be a Dwarf Inquisitor of Bureaucrathel!

Backstory:
Joseph T. McCoy was a meek man by appearance and often of character (or so he felt), a Court Clerk of a small county in the South East of the United States. He tried to do his job to the letter, and was often frustrated by the fact that not all others did. Nepotism, corruption, and fabrication showed up every now and then and often there was little Joseph could do about it. Police officers would lie on the stand. Judges would let a 'friend of a friend' off with a lighter sentence.

McCoy arranged the schedules, helped the judges, and so on, but when it came time to stand up for right and wrong he often felt lackluster. He would voice a concern, and be ignored, or, in one case, have his career threatened. Joseph tried, but ultimately backed down. He always backed down he thought with disgust, and just tried to make sure the procedures were followed as best he could. What else could a weak man do? He passively aggressively buried those bypassing bureaucracy in as much paperwork as he could and CYA (COVER YOUR ASS) on every form.

A conflict of interest came up one week when he met Mildred Culver. Mildred was seeking a divorce from her abusive husband, but the man had contacts and made her life a living hell! But she had kept meticulous paperwork proving his lies (Hotel Receipts and more)
Joe, somewhat smitten felt a rare surge of courage, and decided rather than just be the clerk, heh would for once stand in as an expert witness. If it cost him his job, so be it!

So brave was he, that as he moved to tell his superiors he would be taking the stands, he recklessly snarfed up some gas station sushi... and died, he died a horrible gassy death. In the end the stench his corpse created was the most powerful statement he ever made in his life.
It would appear his dedication to proper Paperwork and procedure even in the face of whimsical judges and corrupt cops moved Bureaucrathel, Lord of Forms and Fates, and has taken him under his wing as a divine Inquisitor!

In exchange Bureaucrathel may see to it that Mildred receives a proper soul transfer to new body safe from her abusive ex, once McCoy has sent forth the request IN Triplicate and all prior requirements be filled.

Like a good anime it varies by region. as for the scale of gun weaoponry nothing super amazing, at best you might get word of a legenday pistol that holds *gasp* six bullets inside it that can fired one after another before requiting a reload. sword and board and early muskestry are very much the order of the day.
