Round 2: Female Dwarf
As the rest of the party comes into view, the dwarf, clad in chainmail armor, grips her weapons even tighter. She looks at Ulmo, "If you think I'm afraid of your greenskin clan, think again! I will slaughter you and your tribe!" She has a crazed look on her face.
Ulmo is 60' away from the dwarf.
Jericho and Penny are 40' away
Goliath is 50' away.
Party is up!

            Nonlethal, Brace with strength surge and no power attack: 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 - 4 = 17
Damage, x2 if she charges: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Dwarven”By Torag’s beard we aren’t orcs! I am Ulmo Nargrymkin, descendent of Nargrym Steelhand. I have come here from Janderhoff to hunt orcs and giants. Please, come to your senses!” He yelled to her. While his spear was braced. If she decided to charge him then he was ready to defend himself, but he truly did not want it to come to that.

Goliath moves as far as he can, skating overtop of the difficult terrain. He stomps his foot, summoning druidic magics, sending a wave of swampy water at the confused dwarf.

Goliath's spell knocks the ranger down.
Penny knows of several spells that could have this effect, such as insanity or bestow curse.
Round 3: Female Dwarf
The dwarven ranger gets up, cursing the orcish magic. She moves 10' closer, ready to engage in battle.
Party is up!

Goliath

Goliath charges, feet skipping daintily over the fetid ground thanks to druidic magic. There's not much he can do insofar as breaking curses or what have you, but he can try to stop the dwarf from hurting herself... "Hammer diplomacy!"
Earth Breaker (Power Attack, Charge, Nonlethal): 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 - 1 - 4 = 17

Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Moving around to the other side, Ulmo struck with the blunt and end of his spear. He grimaced at Goliath’s announcement, but held his peace on it. He knew that he only cared because she was kin. If it was an insane human he’d have been in much higher spirits too. So, despite how serious he took the situation, he knew that he was in no position to criticize.

Goliath moves up and swings, but the female dwarf moves out of the way, so the blow harmlessly deflects off her chainmail.
Ulmo was 60' away at start of last round, so assuming he moved 15' closer and then braced, he is 45' away at the beginning of this round, so it is not possible to flank and attack. If he double moves, he is still 15' away.
Jericho moves into melee range with the dwarf.
Round 3: Female Dwarf
Since Goliath swung at her, she full-attacks the "greenskin" beast, drawing blood twice with her handaxe!
Waraxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 --- miss
Handaxe: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 --- hit

Waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 --- miss

Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 --- nope
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Total damage to Goliath: 14

            Round 1:
Party is up. Let's use theater of the mind for this rather than a map. Ulmo is 60' away and the rest of the party is 70' or more away. The ground is difficult terrain. (Ulmo held his ground so 60ft away)
Round 2: 60ft away. I braced. So correct 60ft away.
Round 3: I moved to attack. Correct in that I couldn't do that. I had misremembered movement from before. My apologies. Please accept the last round as moving up, and this round as taking actions as above.
Nonlethal, flank: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 - 4 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

            Round 4:Dwarf
Mistakenly thinking (?) that Goliath cannot touch her, the dwarven ranger switches her attention to Jericho, who just hit her for max damage. She full-attacks him!
Waraxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 --- hit

Handaxe: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 --- miss

            Hit with flank, nonlethal, blessing: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 - 4 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Ulmo had to admit. He was impressed. She was taking hits that would fell most orcs and was giving better than she got. Perhaps it was the berserker rage, but he wondered if he could have beaten her alone. Deciding that he didn’t want to find out, he redoubled his efforts.

Jericho grunts in pain, as he is sliced by the dwarven waraxe. He momentarily considers switching to lethal harm, what he had been trained for, but continues to inflict nonlethal, and misses.

As Goliath does not have Improved Grapple, his grapple attempt provokes an AoO from the dwarven ranger's waraxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Confirmation: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 --- no, so lucky for Goliath
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Grapple attempt fails.
Round 5: Dwarf
Sine he tried to grab her, the dwarf full-attacks Goliath!
Waraxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 --- hit
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Handaxe: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 --- miss
Waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 --- miss
Handaxe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 --- threat
Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 --- confirmed!
Damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) + 3 = 7
Total damage to Goliath this round: 19
Total damage: 33 - he has 3 hps left.
Party is up!

            Cure mod: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11
Staying behind Goliath Penny casts a Cure Moderate wounds on him to keep him alive.
She is starting to think that the group may need to kill the deranged Dwarf before she kills one of them. Even if they do render her unconscious they still have no way of healing her mind.

Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
If she has 3 HP left then I won’t use power attack
Ulmo, sadly, was coming to a similar conclusion. He tried once more to disable her without killing her. His unease at the situation, and respect for her martial skills, were growing with each wound she inflicted upon the group.
With a *crack* he hit her in the back of his head with the shaft of his spear. He truly hoped that it would be enough to lay her low without cracking her skull or causing (more) brain damage.

Goliath

"Bah! You tiny ones are so hard to hit!" Goliath hooks a boot under the haft of the earth breaker, kicking it up from the mud. He handily catches it, smoothly transitioning to a two-handed grip and swings. "Ah, thanks for the healing!"
Looks like she has improved twf, so she's at least level 6. Probably has 60~ hp. As frustrating as this is, I find it narratively humorous that Goliath has trouble with a small dwarf but not giant drakes or hydra, since he's a big game hunter. Pick up hammer and attack again.
Nonlethal Hammer (PA): 1d20 + 8 - 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 4 - 1 = 21
Nonlethal Damage (PA, Smite): 2d6 + 7 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6, 3) + 7 + 3 + 1 = 20

Goliath delivers a resounding blow to the dwarf's head that knocks her unconscious. Combat over. Now what?

Goliath

"Hah. Well, she put up quite a fight. Anyone know what's wrong with her? Bewitched by wisps?"

Ulmo Nargrymkin

Ulmo bent down to check if she was still breathing. Seeing that she was, he retrieved a rope from his pack. ”First thing first. We disarm her and tie her up. She put up a hell of a fight. Maybe when she wakes up, whatever is wrong with her will have passed.” As he tied her up he glanced over at Goliath. ”Really hope you knocked some sense into her.” He said, dryly.

Jericho Darkleaf

"I'd appreciate some healing from the wand, Goliath and great job on that hit. I am not used to attacking without intent to kill." Jericho hears Ulmo's words. "I also say that we search her for possessions to make sure that she cannot escape and to check if she has a journal or something to explain why the heck she is out here in this swamp seeing orcs where there are none." Jericho offers to search through all her possessions and look for hidden weapons in her boots, buckle, etc.

Goliath

Goliath leaves the binding of the dwarf to the dwarf and fishes out his curative wand. "A swamp is the last place I'd expect to find a dwarf. I thought your kind preferred solid stone underfoot and overhead." The wand goes tap tap tap. "Silvermane warned us of wisps. I believe they have the power to enchant the mind. I'm hoping, though not hopeful, that the wisps of the Circle will recognize me as a druid."
However many CLW charges l, +1 healing to each roll: 10d8 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 8, 1, 3) = 37
4 charges to Goliath, 3 to. Jericho.

While Ulmo is disarming the Dwarf and te others are getting patched up Penny will check the woman's gear, looking for her pack or bags.
She is looking for anything like a diary or journal to see if she can discover what ails her?

Jericho and Penny search the unconscious dwarf. You find her dwarven waraxe and handaxe, a dagger strapped to her ankle, 52 gp, and two potions.
You can try doing Perception checks on the potions by tasting them.

Jericho tastes the two potions and senses that one potion is a beneficial potion, possibly to remove some affliction like lesser restoration or remove blindness, etc. He cannot identify the other one. Anyone else want to try on the other one?

Jericho points to the potion that he identified. "How about we give the dwarf this potion? I believes it removes harmful afflictions. Maybe it will cure him? At least, we know it will not harm him."

Without saying a word Ulmo nodded, took the potion, and went over to the bound dwarf. Lifting her head back he carefully poured the potion down her throat, taking care to not pour too fast lest he accidentally choke her.

You feed the dwarf the potion carefully so she does not choke. Goliath heals the dwarf with the wand and she regains consciousness. She moans in pain, as she looks around. "Why the heck an I bound? Who are you fools? Thieves? Did you beat me up? Let me go! I am no one's prisoner!" She looks at Ulmo, "Why did you betray your dwarven kind? You're the worst kind of dwarf to turn your backs on your kin." She struggles against her bonds.

Ulmo Nargrymkin

”Calm yourself. We are giant hunters.” Ulmo said sternly. Then, switching to dwarven…
Dwarven ”You were under some sort of enchantment. You called us orcs and attempted to kill us. Did a fine job of spilling blood, I might add. We were forced to bind you for our safety. Now, I will free you, as you are back to your senses. But I would advise you to show that you aren’t a threat.”

Goliath

"Eh, and you put up quite the fight."

Fire Giant_DM

The dwarven ranger is flummoxed by Ulmo's response. She smiles a little at Goliath's comment. "Uh, what? I called you orcs? We battled?! My body does feel sore as hell. My memory is so hazy. I do not remember anything except traveling in the swamp with my brother...my brother?! By the gods! Where is he? Did you see him with me?" Her voice grows frantic!

”She’s back to herself. The potion did its work.” Ulmo said as he untied the dwarf. ”We haven’t seen him.” He said simply. ”But ye can accompany us, and we will see if we come across him. Tell us about him, what ye came here for and where he was last seen.”

Goliath
