Welcome to the recruitment thread for the PFS1 scenario #5-08: The Confirmation, a scenario for level 1-2 characters (and evergreen when played with a level 1 character). Recruitment for this game will be on a first come first served basis, with the exception that priority will be given to players who have not played PbP before (and who apply before recruitment closes). There are 6 spots available and I'm planning on kicking the game off in a couple of weeks time.

Please post here indicating the character you would like to bring and if you are new to PbP so I know to give you priority.

I'll sign up, though it's far from my first time playing (or GMing) it.

Hello.

I have some experience with PbP, but not with playing Pathfinder in PbP and I would like to try.

I don't have a character ready and since this would be my first time playing Society I would be more confortable asking some guidelines when building it.

I play in person and I usually favor suport types like bards and clerics, but it could be fun to try something martial like an unchained rogue.

Hello and welcome!

Grand Lodge

If you need a warm body to make a legal table, count me in...i'll make whatever the table needs...

I'll play! Not sure what I'll bring yet, but I've done PbP and this scenario many times.

Welcome! If you're just starting out there are some important things to know about playing Pathfinder Society (sorry if you already know all this, it's just some things I wish I had known going in):

-There is no ongoing storyline, each scenario is self-contained. (A few have sequels or multiple parts but most don't.) So you don't need to worry about tailoring your character to the game; play what you want.

-There's no set party, your allies will change each game. Being good at several things is often better than being good at one thing. Bards are actually quite common for exactly this reason. (I once saw three of them in the same party.)

-Everything is strictly RAW (as closely as possible), so no "try to talk your GM into letting you do X". If something is ambiguous different GMs might rule differently, so I recommend not basing your character build on it.

I'm happy to help with character-building and I'm sure GM is too.

Welcome (and sorry for not replying earlier, I've been away for the last few days so I've only just got back). SodiumTelluride gave a bunch of great advice in the previous post (thanks!). In terms of the official rules for building PFS characters, they can be found in the guild guide (here). The key rules when it comes to building a new character is that they start at level 1, have a 20 point build and start with 150 gold pieces. The PFS rules have some restrictions on what build options and equipment are available, but they are not that restrictive, so quite a broad range of options are available. The best way to check if an option is available is to look it up on Archives of Nethys and check if there is a glyph of the open road next to the item name (indicating that it is PFS legal).

For information on PbP on the forums the information in The Flaxseed Lodge campaign page (here) is also supper useful.

If want to get up and running without creating a new character there are also pregen characters available, which can be played in a scenario and the credit for playing them (gold, XP etc...) can then be applied to a new character once you create them. It's also worth noting that until a character is played at 2nd level you can rebuild that character for free at the end of a scenario, so if you change your mind about a character after your first game, you are not locked into those choices until you hit second level.

feel free to post any other questions you have here.

GM M, since we apparently have a legal table, should we adjourn to the Discussion thread for character creation/selection?

I'll keep applications open until the start of the game, but everyone who has applied so far is in and can dot their characters into the gameplay thread.

I'm planning on getting the game kicked off next Tuesday, but if anyone needs a bit more time to sort their character out let me know as I'm happy to be a bit flexible with that.

Yes, that's definitely a good idea.

You need to create the Discussion thread first, though <g>.

Gelatina, once the GM has done that, you can navigate there by clicking the tab labeled "Discussion" near the top of the page.

Oops, I completely forgot I hadn't done that yet. It's now been created.

I only counted 4 players. Do you need or rather are you looking for 2 more?

The scenario can run with between 4 and 6 PCs, so four is enough to run it, but there are still two spots available if you are interested in joining.

I’ll pass actually, thank you.
