Barnaby Bastien Bridge |

And heeere's Barnaby Bastien Bridge for your perusal!
He was fun! Thank you for the opportunity.
Any questions, comments, concerns and tissue is welcomed!
Thank you for running!
EDIT
Being only a Four character party, Barnaby will be willing to take Trap Finder Trait (if allowed) to expand his role(s).

Believer |

With so much interest, I will be closing the game a little bit earlier than next week.
New end date is the night of Wednesday, June 26th. I’ll pick our team Thursday morning and get the rebellion well and truly started!
Ooh! Coming down to it now! [/excited]
I've updated the list again. :)
bluedove - Believer - LG tiefling (Shackleborn) oracle (Pei Zin Practitioner) of Milani / paladin (Hospitaler) -
Finding Haleen
Teeny tiny correction, you were understandably looking at her old build since I hadn't updated her profile. I have fixed that now as well as some other typos and errors in her submission.
Her campaign trait is Fed-Up Citizen and her reason to attend the Protest is to look for her father and/or any of his known friends/associates as well as to be on hand if things go badly and people need her aid. So probably closest to the Staying Up on Current Events from the Player's Guide.
Thanks again and good luck to all! ^_^

Lars Ulcaster |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Many, many thanks to eriktd for pointing out to me that my build wouldn't work, as precise strike deed can't be used for a magus. So, I have a question for the GM....
Is this build allowed?
Feat Plan
Lvl 1: Improved Unarmed Strike, Weapon Finesse, Possessed Hand
Lvl 3: Hand Autonomy
Lvl 5: Point Blank Shot, Hand Detachment
Lvl 7: Weapon Focus
Lvl 9: Startoss Style
Lvl 11: Startoss Shower, Startoss Comet
Lvl 13: Weapon Specialization
Lvl 15: Improved Familiar
Enchantment and modification plan
* Lvl 3ish: Buy agile enchantment
* Lvl 5ish: Buy returning enchantment and Versatile Design so his golemfist is also in the thrown weapons fighter group and will return to him.
Effects
* Lvl 5, his golemfist can be removed and is part of the thrown weapon's group. I believe that this would just be a 20ft range. For the in-game description, it would be materializing a ghostly version of his hand to attack at a distance. This build forgoes the usual 10d6 damage shocking grasp. Instead, it stacks damage from the startoss style feat chain and weapon specialization. Given that a magus is a 2/3 BaB character, I was looking for ways to increase damage that didn't decrease his chances of hitting.
* And of course, I would be using the familiar arcana, followed by improved familiar. The automaton familiar just seemed perfect for the golemfist. You know...if Lars is already focused around his golemfist, might as well really lean into it when having abilities that it is good for.
I believe that this is all RAW, I just want to make sure that I'm right in this, and it is also RAI from the view of the GM

Kurt Law |

I present Kurt Law, a Human Urban Infiltrator Inquisitor of Cayden Caylean.
Ex-Asmodeus, his family made a fatal mistake leading to their execution, Kurt barely escaped at the age 16, he fled town. Now 8 years later he has returned, not only to help free Kintargo but also to take revenge for his family.
He suffers great confliction, he knows he shouldn't seek revenge, especially since his family was evil asmodeans but he loved them. And he can't shake that love. He lacks closure.
His stat block and the 20 questions are all in his character sheet!
As for what he brings to the team, sort of skill monkey, disable device, some helpful face skills, range attacker. Inquisitors are kind of a weird class but I enjoy them as a concept! I think I can really get behind this character.
Its silly but as I was making the character the more the Green Arrow and specifically the old TV show on CW crept into my vision for this character.

Carlissa Solstine |

Here's my submission: Carlissa Solstine, female human urban ranger.
1. What is your character’s name? Carlissa Solstine (a.k.a. Carli)
2. How old is your character? 18
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)? 5’5”, 119 lbs., light skin (usually somewhat tanned), brown eyes, short, unkempt brown hair, scrawny but fit (not very curvaceous); dresses mainly in shades of gray (her masterwork studded leather armor with matching breeches, her cloak, and her boots; she also wears a rapier at her hip and sometimes carries a composite longbow made to her specifications (+1 Str).
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)? Is generally serious and no-nonsense; tends to not dominate a conversation but instead listens before occasionally interjecting her thoughts or opinions. Though part of a minor noble family, puts on no airs or affectations.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Carlissa was born in Kintargo, has lived there all her life, and was raised not only by her parents but by the family matriarch and other close relations.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Caldarris and Julya Solstine; both alive; her father owns three taverns in the city’s Redroof district while her mother is a family scribe.
7. Do you have any other family or friends? Two older siblings: Jayson (age 24, fighter), Jolena (22, wizard). She thinks of Giveni Henge (owner of the Three-Legged Devil festhall) as a contact/semi-friend. An earlier iteration of this character was friends with Amaya Kaijitsu (detailed in “A Song of Silver”).
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Single with no kids.
9. What is your character’s alignment? Neutral Good
10. What is your character’s moral code? Live and let live…unless you make other people suffer for your own gain. She’s more flexible with lesser crimes such as breaking and entering (mainly because she’s learned how to pick locks).
11. Does your character have goals? To prove herself to her family; to establish her own information network throughout the city.
12. Is your character religious? Not at this point of her life. She hates Asmodeus and has no interest in Shelyn and her areas of interest…and there’s not much beyond those two choices in Kintargo. The teachings of Milani might well interest her in the future.
13. What are your character’s personal beliefs? People should be judged by their actions and accomplishments, not by their size or social status. She’s aware that she might have to work with evil people in the city, but not if she helps them further wicked goals.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)? Not really. Carli’s even-tempered, level-headed, calculating, and generally thinks before she acts…when there’s time to do so.
15. Why does your character adventure? Why would you join the rebellion? Carli’s the little sister of the family and has been treated with kid gloves. She wants to prove herself capable and valuable to her family on her own merits. She loves Kintargo.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? To right wrongs, aid the downtrodden when possible, improve Kintargo, and pry the city from the iron claws of the new lord-mayor. Within the party, she’d be a complimentary piece: decent at melee and (eventually) ranged combat, a capable tracker, good at picking locks (though it’ll be a level or two before she can deal with magical traps), decent city-based skillset, and she’s generally a team player.
17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)? Nope.
18. How does your character get along with others? She’s a team player but doesn’t treat with fools.
19. Is there anything that your character hates? The religious order of Asmodeus and, most recently, Barzillai Thrune.
20. Is there anything that your character fears? Being treated as a child; dragons.

Saquiel |

Here is Aldizog's submission.
20 questions are in the profile but replicated here.
1. What is your character’s name? Saquiel
2. How old is your character? 19
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)? Male human, 5'9", around 150 lb, wiry. Swarthy skin, brown eyes, brown hair. Wears banded mail, and carries a longsword, javelins, and shield.
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)? His speech marks him as a Kintago native of middle-class upbringing with a good education. He radiates a higher degree of confidence than might be expected based on his apparent status.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Born and raised in Kintargo by his parents and grandparents.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Parents are Ibarius (father) and Antonia (mother, named after Antonius Thrune who was monarch when she was born). Both are alive and had been running a ceramics studio in Old Kintargo, but once Saquiel started poking into Portia's disappearance they were forced to disown him. He doesn't know if they were forced to shut down or not, and doesn't care. They are weak-willed and unwilling to take a stand.
7. Do you have any other family or friends? His older sister Jessifar left the city before martial law was imposed; she was something of an activist so is likely involved with revolutionary activities, but she tends more to Desna or Milani than Iomedae. He doesn't know for sure. Malvinius Delronge was something of a friend (Saquiel squired for him) but is from a family that is very loyal to House Thrune; Malvinius risked enough by telling Saquiel about Portia's disappearance and is keeping his head down for now. Portia was Malvinius's girlfriend, and has disappeared after investigating Thrune's claim to Kintargo. Saquiel met her a few times; she was studious, outgoing, and intelligent (as well as exceptionally attractive). As he was squire to Malvinius he did not express any interest in her, of course.
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Single, no kids.
9. What is your character’s alignment? Lawful Good
10. What is your character’s moral code? Do what is necessary to resist the evil of House Thrune and defend the people of Kintargo, even if it means breaking laws or acting with deceit. Even though he serves Iomedae, he is not a paladin and so is somewhat more morally flexible. He regards Iomedae as having given him this allowance, though he can't prove it.
11. Does your character have goals? Discover the truth about Thrune's claim to Kintargo; oppose House Thrune and the Church of Asmodeus. Reclaim his family's honor with the aid of Vindicator, the spirit of the horse that his celestial ancestor rode in the Shining Crusade.
12. Is your character religious? Yes, he worships Iomedae.
13. What are your character’s personal beliefs? Most people are not evil, but are convinced to keep quiet out of fear. Fear of death, or exile, but even things like social ostracization. So he will use fear when needed to get them to stand against House Thrune.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)? Hard to pin down as being either cynical or optimistic. Perhaps cynical about how things are, but optimistic that a better world is possible. Normally a confident speaker with a suitable range of emotion in his speech, but when he is using Intimidate his voice gets low, even, and icy.
15. Why does your character adventure? Why would you join the rebellion? On a mission from a god. He has come to realize just how dangerous, deceptive, and murderous House Thrune and the Church of Asmodeus are. He feels a pride in his family's past, and Iomedae seemingly choosing him gives him some hope that he can make things better.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? He is a solid (though not overpowering) combatant and a reasonable negotiator. He lacks much in the way of defense against magic so will rely heavily on allies for such defenses.
17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)? No.
18. How does your character get along with others? Generally good - he is more morally flexible than a LG crusader of Iomedae would usually be.
19. Is there anything that your character hates? Moral cowardice. People who oppose Asmodeus but are unwilling to say so rankle him more than people who genuinely believe Asmodeus is good for Cheliax.
20. Is there anything that your character fears? Swarms. Dear gods, swarms. What right-thinking inhabitant of Golarion wouldn't be?

GM Thrune |

Many, many thanks to eriktd for pointing out to me that my build wouldn't work, as precise strike deed can't be used for a magus. So, I have a question for the GM....
** spoiler omitted **
Yeah it looks to work, as far as I can tell.
Apologies for being absent for a bit, busy weekend. I see a lot of completed characters, and will have an exceptionally hard time choosing. But that's how I like it!
Did I miss any direct questions to me?

Ollie-Twist |

Okay, coming in kind of close to the wire, but I've got my submission complete!
Valentino Jhaltero, at your service! In the form of a Myth-Weavers sheet, I prefer to work in that format and move it into a statblock later. There's still a little finalizing needed for equipment, but otherwise it's complete. Similarly, I'll make an alias if he's selected.
Valentino Jhaltero, there's most likely am ostentatious and unnecessary number of middle names between one and the other, but those are the two that are important. He'll accept being called 'Val' by friends.
2. How old is your character?
25 years old.
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
At a first glance, the most notable thing about Valentino is the care put into his appearance. Almost every aspect of him, from his impeccably groomed and styled goatee, to the slight and very intentional curl to his hair, to his tailored clothes always on the cutting edge of fashion, this is clearly a man preoccupied with his own looks. He is the picture of Chelish nobility, all pale skin and raven hair and dark hazel-brown eyes, the only thing missing from the picture is the condescension. Instead, Val's expression is usually one of a smile, the look of someone always happy to be seeing whoever it is he's talking to.
4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?
Valentino is very expressive, both in his face and in his movements, and has a remarkable skill for speaking a lot without ever really saying anything of real value. He gives the impression, to be frank, of being a little airheaded. A little scatterbrained, maybe. Thoughtless, even. Really, the man comes across as an idiot. An amiable one, though, as that first impression of being glad to see everyone he meets never really goes away, but still someone with more charm than sense. Still, he's easy to talk to, listens well, and will genuinely try to help as often as he can.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
Val was born and raised in Kintargo, though would spend time often enough at the estates of family friends and allies that he still considers himself fairly traveled, and was raised ostensibly by his parents, the heads of the Jhaltero house, but much of the actual rearing was handled by nannies and tutors.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
His parents are the leaders of the Jhaltero house, whose details the player is leaving ambiguous in case there's more information on them in the adventure path than is available on PathfinderWiki, but who maintain quarries south of Kintargo as a profession, and maintain an information network in the city itself.
7. Do you have any other family or friends?
Of course, Valentino considers himself friends with just about everyone he meets! And, as a noble, just about every other noble is either some form of distant cousin or family friend. Really, you could call him a friend to the whole city! If you won't, he certainly will. The question of if any of those friends are particularly close to him - or, if you really want to get into it, if they know anything real about him at all - is a different matter, and not one that he's likely to let the conversation linger on. He had one, once, but it's been a while since they spoke, and he doesn't believe he's going to get to again.
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
Valentino has been at the age where it would be proper for a man of his status to be married, or at least in serious courtship, for some time now, but any attempts by his parents or peers to push him toward a partner seem to simply slip off. He insists that it isn't a lack of interest or willingness in the subject, of course, simply that he couldn't bear to disappoint his no doubt many admirers. It may just be that he enjoys having a bit of a reputation as a playboy.
9. What is your character’s alignment?
Chaotic Neutral, on his way to Good.
10. What is your character’s moral code?
Kind of a work in progress. Thus far, Valentino's decisions have seemed to be motivated primarily by hedonism, and while that doesn't really seem to be changing, the recent martial law in Kintargo is forcing him to realize the extent of the exploitative systems that he's been benefitting from, and he doesn't like what he's discovering. While he's always been kind of self-serving, he's starting to factor others into his decision-making - yes, he wants to be free to have fun and experience the joys of life to their fullest, but what's the point of that if the people around him have to suffer to make that happen?
11. Does your character have goals?
Not publicly, as he seems to not even have interest in taking over his father's quarries, but Valentino is as involved in the family's information network as he can be, and his goals mostly involve expanding and better utilizing that.
12. Is your character religious?
Not really, though he has a secret respect and admiration for Cayden Cailean.
13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
Valentino believes that everyone should have the right, opportunity, and means, to live their life to the fullest, in whatever way that looks to them, and he is slowly coming to the realization that this includes standing against the people who would deprive them of that right.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
Valentino does seem to have an ego, sure, and the unshakeable idea that everything is going to work out in the end, one way or the other. He is also a complete and utter liar with a very particular persona, maintaining his reputation as a brainless but charming fop to allow him to gather information and subtly twist the cadence of rumors to his advantage. To this end, he keeps a detailed journal written in code.
15. Why does your character adventure? Why would you join the rebellion?
He doesn't, currently! He's quite happy with all the modern amenities of noble life. Martial law has put a damper on his life on the whole, and it came with an unfortunate incident with the one friend he would have called himself actually close to. A forming rebellion gives him an opportunity to do something worthwhile with his resources and make life better for the people around him, all the while getting back at the people responsible for all this suffering? It's not a hard sell.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
Most of his strengths come from talking, whether it's gathering information through mingling, convincing someone to his side, or telling bold-faced lies. He's trained as a fencer, and is skilled enough, but views it more as a sport than as being viable in combat.
17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
Other than a beauty mark below his left eye, none.
18. How does your character get along with others?
Wonderfully, for the most part, though there's certainly something about his cheery disposition that grates on some people. Even the ones who do like him, though, might find themselves walking away from an interaction realizing they've learned nothing of import about him at all.
19. Is there anything that your character hates?
Cruelty in any capacity, and the abuse of authority.
20. Is there anything that your character fears?
Valentino lives his life in such a way that he has amassed a truly impressive number of secrets. About the city of Kintargo and the people in it, sure, but more than anything about his own mind and personality, and very little scares him more than the idea of all that being uncovered.
This act, for the most part, has gone without questioning. Until, during one of his trips to the estate of a family friend, he was introduced to their daughter, a young woman, Liviana, about his own age, smart and cunning and so very, very observant - to the point that she saw straight through him. At first, this was terrifying to young Valentino, and he couldn't get far enough away from this clever girl who wanted to know more about him. But, she was persistent, and eventually convinced Val that she wasn't going to ruin whatever con it was he was running. Entirely not, she was interested in it. She wanted to join him. The two of them were all but inseperable from that point on, and their parents both began to speculate if this could be a favorable match, but both of them made it quite clear they were not interested in each other in that way. Still, inseperable, and when he wasn't spending his time at her family's estate, she was in Kintargo at his.
Liviana was, to be perfectly honest, a bit better at their subterfuge than Valentino, with grander and ever more dangerous plans, which they disagreed on, and often. She had strong beliefs, ones that she couldn't understand his lax attitude towards, and she was rash in a way that he was sure was going to get them both in trouble. Eventually, this wedge drove them apart. Liviana was upset and angry with his attitude, Valentino was scared for her, upset that she would possibly endanger herself, and, after a few too-heated arguments between the two of them, Liv stormed off.
That was the last time Valentino saw her.
Whether she was caught immediately, or not until the city was put under martial law, he doesn't know. All he knows is that, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find her again after she cut ties. She'd always been so much better at their espionage game, and she knew all of his tricks, and not a one of them helped uncover her until one day, the city was under new leadership. Suddenly, there's Thrune agents at Valentino's door, asking about her. They told him that she'd been arrested, and that rumor tied the two of them together, asked if he knew anything about his friend's treasonous behavior.
So, he lied. Valentino fell into his easy persona, and told them he knew nothing of the sort, and how could he, he's not seen her around his scene in ages! Honestly, almost forgotten the name entirely, can you believe? He spun them some story, told them he believed in house Thrune and their rightful authority, and of course, he'd report anything suspicious to them, but really, he can scarcely imagine anyone acting so brazenly against the law like this! He kept up this ingratiating lie until the agents seemed satisfied, and left, and Valentino took this as the wake-up call Liviana had been trying to give him for ages.

From what I see in your application, Adam, that’s more than plenty for me to consider you. The fleshing everything out can be done after selection, if you make it.
I won’t let the schedule change (from me getting a ton of submissions) impact players them in that way, as long as it’s mostly complete.

Wow, a shot at a Hell's Rebels game! Looks like I'm waaaaay behind, but still have a chance to sneak in a submission before tomorrow.
I'll try to get an idea put together tonight. If I can't, just pretend this post isn't even here.
If you can get it all together (or mostly so) by the end of tomorrow CST, you'll count!

Here is my submission Daniel Beatty. He is a tempered champion paladin of Kelinahat. Still needs some work on the 20 questions.

I haven't had a chance to really dive into those Background Questions, as I was trying really hard to get this done before the deadline. Whew!
Here is the super summarized version:
Of all the most ridiculous parts of Barzillai Thrune's proclamations, the Seventh ruined Madeline's life. One would think the aspiring opera diva would have been more anguished over the loss of the opera house and her dreams of stardom, but the total ban of mint made such notions pale in comparison. You see, Madeline hailed from the Duponts, a country merchant family renowned for its fabulous mint!
Dupont Mint had been in the dishes on the tables of nobles, sold as pest control, and even packaged as a wonderful way to deal with bad breath for both people and pets for well over two centuries! Given his love of dogs Barzillai should have been singing the Duponts praises when the cure for dog-breath was at any grocery in the city! Instead, Madeline's family now saw their livelihood completely untenable and the future looked bleak.
Madeline discovered some latent powers after a visit from a creature appearing currently as an adorable ermine which she has taken to calling Mintee. Using the magical song Mintee taught her, Madeline transforms into Pennyroyal, the Marvelous Mint Musketeer!!
@GM Thrune: Quite frankly, I'm not entirely sure this character would ever actually be useful, but I feel like she would be a blast to play. I only wish I had time to flesh out the Background Questions. Saw this thread just too late!

Hi,
Here is a link to my submission, Glark the Blacktongue. He has the Historian of the Rebellion campaign trait, and his reason for being at the protest is Meeting a Contact.
1. What is your character’s name?Glark the Blacktongue
2. How old is your character? 13
3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?Standing 2'3" and weighing 28 pounds, Glark is relatively lanky for a grippli, but probably does not seem so to those of human size. He has green skin, no hair, and beady, black eyes. He wears a rapier on his belt, and a backpack with his other equipment on his back.
5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who? Glark grew up in a swamp near the Barrowwood. He was raised by his parents.
6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living? Glark is the son of the leaders of the grippli tribe in his native swamp. His parents are alive.
7. Do you have any other family or friends? Glark has an older brother who is the designated heir. He has several friends who agree with his vision for a new form of government for their tribe.
8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids? Glark is single with no kids.
9. What is your character’s alignment? CG
10. What is your character’s moral code? Glark believes in freedom and equality for all members of society. He sincerely wants to do the right thing, but he does not at all feel bound by tradition.
11. Does your character have goals? Glark wants to reform his birth society to be more accepting of arcane magic.
12. Is your character religious? Glark's parents were both druids, and they raised him that way, but he rejected it after they rejected him because he manifested arcane talent.
14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?optimistic and naive
15. Why does your character adventure? Why would you join the rebellion? Glark adventures to show his family that he can be a good person and contribute to society despite his "disability" of arcane talent. He wants to join the rebellion to learn how rebellions tick so that he is more likely to succeed if/when he is able to go back home and try to reform his tribe.
16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer? It is a means to an end.
18. How does your character get along with others? He is outgoing and tries to make friends everywhere he goes.
19. Is there anything that your character hates?Prejudice
20. Is there anything that your character fears? Letting others down

Without commenting on any specific submissions, I would hope the GM does not feel obligated to pick a full arcane caster to fill that niche; I've been in parties without and they can be quite successful. We have multiple 6-level casters to pick from (Magus, Bard, Inquisitor, etc) and multiple clerics/oracles. Though perhaps one of the 9th-level arcane casters is among the best submissions and will be selected on it own merits. We'll see.
One of my favorite campaigns is all fighters so even that can be done in the right AP (with surprisingly minimal reliance on UMD scrolls). I do think all-bard would be fantastic for this AP if someone wanted to start a specifically all-bard recruitment.

This was one of the hardest recruitments that I have ever had to make decisions for, but I did it! Thank you so much, everyone, for your wonderful submissions. I genuinely enjoyed all of the creative ideas out there!
Now, with that being said, will the players below report to the discussion thread.
