the lutist I've found plays several Beatles songs. He does the Eagles "hotel California" on several instruments that is absolutely killer.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Having a Witch and a Bard in the same party is not exactly fair to those we face-off with....
This is why I am actually playing a melee character.... because you two are purrfection together!

Dorian 'Grey' |

My Magus build most definitely but not so much the Brawler although it is a Class Skill.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Ooo! A slow leveling gestalt game would indeed scratch both the itch for a bit more as a Player and the not too much because we shall slowly advance for the DM....
Trouble and shananagins provider a class?

y'know, I never realized this before, but the 2e action economy was basically spelled out way back in Pathfinder Unchained!

The gestalt kids are rumbling again!
I have no experience with gestalt and would prefer not to.
That's cool, I was just teasing DG...
I was in a Wheel of Time game where my 'Ashaman' was nuts because of the 'taint', I RP'd it by him having a split personality.
Maybe what we should try a game are characters have some sort of personality disorder. During moments of stress, they change personality and character class... not gestalt, just...flip...
Ok, I've clearly too much caffeine today...

Yuppers. There are many Easter eggs throughout Unchained and Campaign.

djdust |

Well, i know we settled the 1e/2e debate for this campaign, but maybe we can use this alternate rule, as the 2e action economy is truly one of the most attractive changes made.
The others, of course being the implementation of degrees of success and failure, the elimination of save or suck spells, and the elimination of spells that require both an attack roll and a saving throw.
(Speaking for my friend who's playing a full caster debuffer.)
But, alas, there are no alternative rules for such things.
(unless there are, 1e is soooooo huge!)

Dorian 'Grey' |

Crap! Now my 2e juices are flowing.....Free Archetype! Oh my the open options for creating the....
....ok...much better...better now. Thank you. We're all good here. Everything is fine. How are you?

Dorian 'Grey' |

I am actually looking forward to just playing the Martial.
Brawler seems like just enough options for me to take it out for a test drive....
Now where is the Track?

Dorian 'Grey' |

Theater of the Mind is fine with me actually. All my DMs says my map skills are absent from their games....
I have found their claims quite credible..

The world Generator I've played around with a lot but haven't actually used for a game. It's highly detailed with randomly generated histories and cultures and religions included, but you can also make it your own. I figure if this setting is a bunch of floating island city states, maybe the world isn't static and a map doesn't make much sense. Another island nation may appear on the horizon one day to be leagues away the next.
The city Generator I've used a bunch.
The map tool is new to me but I'll be using it in my darkest Dungeon campaign as you can import random Dungeon designs from DonJon.
Of course I'd prefer to draw my own, but time.is short these days. Another great resource is Dyson Logos if you need a quick dungeon map that someone else made. The whole sunken pyramid and Soma's lair came from his blog.

GM Parrot |

Great stuff! I think I'll have to make my own city map for Morgen because I have a particular shape in mind, and I can't figure out how to precisely redraw cities in this generator.
The world map will need to be unstable by definition, but maybe I can use a base map with an island layer that changes...
Definitely going to use the heck out of the dungeon one and will investigate Dyson Logos.

I was rereading and prepping my first post and have just read GMParrot's nest to the last post. Great stuff by the way, but that's not why I'm posting. Would Noami have known Dominic?
Her family name is known as are both her parents, but she is still a student, probably in her third or fourth year and she performs regularly at the tavern 'Chadwicks' with her father and sister.
But would she have met him before? I reread this post but it really didn't give any 'public figure' information.
Just asking, so I know how to have Naomi approach Dominic.

Yes, you'd likely know Dominic. I have never lived in a town as small as Morgen, but I've lived in bigger places and still had the "everyone knows everyone" feeling. You're rather a public figure and Dom would be known for cartomancy, so I think it's safe to say you'd know of each other. Level of bestiehood up to y'all though.

Dominic of the Strands |

I would say Dominic plies his fortune telling trade at the city squares and public spaces, maybe in the secluded corners of the inns and taverns as well. He's no public figure, yet, but maybe a familiar face in the crowd.
GM, should I add 'Inert Philosopher's Stone' to my character sheet?

Naomi Chadwick |
Dominic, in relationship to Naomi, would you rather she treat you like she's seen you in her grandfather's bar regularly? Like one of the crowd in the tv show 'cheers.' Maybe knew his name and that he had a large family who lived in the Strands
Or would you prefer she just have seen you occasionally about town, and know nothing else?
Does anyone else visit 'Chadwicks' very often?

Oswald Copperpot |

Using Chadwick's as a commonality would allow for ease of party forming....
The Janitor may frequent such an establishment to drown (pun?) his sorrow and talk smack about Wizards.

Naomi Chadwick |
How old is Oswald? He may remember when the tavern was still the "Tooth and Nail" before it changed its name to 'Chadwicks' and got all 'hoity-toity.' (some fifteen years back) and he's just too stubborn to change 'watering holes' even if the whole place and cliental changes around him.
Edit: I just went and looked he's 25, maybe that won't work :)

Oswald Copperpot |

I have been known to banter a bit....

I use discord pretty frequently and would be down to join up there, but I'm definitely being outpaced for posts on the forum so far. Is my pace likely to hold things up? (I'm on a state network at work so I can't check the website throughout the day, but discord sends phone notifications so that might help quite a bit.)

@KStF, I think an ideal pace is about a post a day, but they don't have to be long. And of course missing a day or two here and there isn't a big deal at all.
It's a little more important to be posting once we're in combat or else they can literally last a month. Combat posts are faster to write, though.
I really want you in this game, so if you need a slower pace we can make it work.
@Everyone: I am trying to rope in a couple local friends. I'll get you fightin' soon.

Naomi Chadwick |
In my experience, 1 post a week is a more realistic expectation. Happy to have you here!
ಠ_ಠ
So, obviously I'm stoked that Utuk is still with us and we can work around however often they can post.
In my experience a pace can be set by the GM and majority of players that can be from posting once a week to posting three or four times a day. It really depends on what folks want to do.
Obviously if we want a faster pace having systems in place to do that helps, and if we want to discuss those things we can. But, happy with whatever pace Parrot wants to set :)

GM Parrot |

I have an overarching goal which is to hang out and tell stories with my friends.
Pace serves that goal. No pace, no story. Too fast, friends leave.
Let's aim for Goldilocks.
Waiting to hear from my local Seattle friends... might just kick off encounter one soon anyway just so you can start smashing stuff.

Dominic of the Strands |

well I'm really curious as to what sort of monster is going to suddenly appear and force us to come together as a team!
Avengers Assemble! To me my X-Men!
