Just so we don't have to double-back, can we say that the group is Taking 10 on Perception checks as we wander through the areas, to notice anything of interest? Alkekenji would be at a passive 21 Perception, if so.
Is replacing/repairing the broken capacitor something we could try, here? Or is that like a "multiple days in drydock" kind of thing? If it's something we could attempt here, Alkekenji would try and Aid Another (presumably with Flenn, our resident mechanic.)
Hireling Engineering Aid, DC 10: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
If there's nothing further to see or do in Engineering, Alkekenji would venture that the bridge (I think, A15?) is probably the next best stop. They'll continue to check their rad sweeper ever so often, to make sure that this is a "ghost" ship, and not an "irradiated" ship.

![]() |

Flenn tries to assess the scope of this project, and whether it's something they can easily do at this point or need to tackle later.
I will save Alkekenji's aid for the actual work, not the assessment.
Engineering: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
If he can get the capacitor array up and running - or at least make it so that it's not draining power from the ship - he will attempt to do so.
Engineering w/ aid: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 15 + 2 = 22
Not horrible, but definitely less than stellar.

![]() |

Well it is said in the log that the engineers were planning on replacing it, so there must be a spare array on board somewhere. Usually it is just a matter of unplugging the old unit, replacing it with the new one and plugging that back in.

![]() |

M-maybe we should just try that repair? Momo says, considering that the only she like less than being on a starship is being on a starship with no power.
She checks out the logbook to see if there are any relevant entries before that last one (such as what caused the malfunction, or where they stored that spare part they bought)

![]() |

Momo doesn't find anything more useful in the logs but that spare unit has to be on board somewhere. It's just a matter of finding it.

![]() |

Castana widens her eyes. If it's not here, let's carry on and look for it. Castana will then double right (back out of the engineering room and make two right hand turns) to the next room. Assuming the door is open, she will check for anything unusual before proceeding.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

![]() |

Two right turns takes Castana to the medical bay (A5). The room is saturated with the smell of antiseptic. Bloodied bandages and opened medkits lie scattered across the floor, while a desk at one end of the room is haphazardly strewn with medical tools and devices. On the opposite wall stands an inactive medical robot, its mechanical arms equipped with scalpels, scanners, and other types of medical tools.

![]() |

Flenn says, "Just be careful of your aim or flinging those grenades around. Don't need the spare capacitor array busted before we can swap it out."
He walks over to make sure the medical bot is fully deactivated.and not going to identify them as some sort of threat.

![]() |

It is. It won't come back on until power is restored.

![]() |

Alkekenji would take a quick look around the medical bay - with the open kits and bloodied bandages, obviously something happened here. They'd try and see if they can figure out what's up.
Medicine or Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 12
+11 Perception and +12 Medicine, so that's a 23 or 24, whatever's more appropriate.
Assuming that one Pegasus is a lot like the others, Alkekenji would reason that the hangar/cargo bays would be the next most sensible place to look. Once the medical bay is clearned, they'd move south, to A6.

![]() |

Flenn says, "Well, that's good. You'd be surprised how often these old models will glitch out, and go all 'Exterminate! Exterminate!' on you, chasing you around with scalpels to cut out your spleen."

![]() |

Alkekenji discovers four advanced medkits and four mk 2 serums of healing.
A6 is indeed the Starboard Cargo Hold. Among other types of cargo, there is a spare capacitor array sitting on a shelf. As someone goes to get it, a heavy crate full of steel pipes suddenly topples off a higher shelf nearby potentially striking someone.
Perception to notice it and warn others to get out of the way

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

![]() |

Flenn is able to warn everyone else to stay out of the way. If anyone had been standing there to get the capacitor array, they would have been hit by that falling crate and suffered serious injury.
Flenn is also sure some unseen force actually pushed that crate.
Still you can get the new array and install it with a successful Engineering check.

![]() |

Alarmed by the falling crate and Flen's remark of it being pushed, Terminatrix tightens grip on his sword and whispers "Should we prepare for combat or focus on repairing the array?"

![]() |

Flenn frowns. "Clearly, somethin' kept them from repairing it before. My instinct is that it would be better to have the power back up, but I suppose it might make sense to clear the ship first." He glances around. "We haven't found the crew, or their remains, yet ... but the journal didn't indicate any other system issues or strange problems, aside from the capacitor array itself."

![]() |

Alkekenji takes one of the advanced medkits, and one of the serums of healing.
"I propose we replace the capacitor array first; if anything, having working life support and sensors in the Vigilance may make it easier to find the crew. Although, I'm beginning to suspect they crossed over to the Revelry, and...I am concerned."
@phaeton_nz did any of Alkekenji's esoteric senses pick up anything, pushing that box in the cargo bay? They detect life, thoughts, vibration, electricity, and scent.

![]() |

The ship didn't show up at all on my scrying Momo reacts to Alkekenji, what if it's a ghost ship? This whole place could be haunted!
Let's repair that array as soon as we can, we don't want to be trapped in here without power, Momo says, speaking from experience.

![]() |

Flenn also takes one of the advanced medkits and one of the serums of healing.
Flenn hefts the capacitor array (assuming it can be carried by a single person). "Well, let's get us some power, then ..."
Before plugging the capacitor array in, he shunts power so that he can activate each system individually, rather than having the entire ship come to life all at once.
Engineering: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
Once the capacitor is plugged in, if there are no problems, he tries to power up the terminal to run system diagnostics before powering them up. He also checks if he can gain control of the doors and internal force fields, tying controls into his custom rig so that he can open/close the doors as they get to them.

![]() |

In case a +2 makes a difference, Alkekenji would auto-assist via Hireling.

![]() |

Alkenji's senses picked up ... nothing.
The new capacitor is plugged in and power comes on gradually. All lights in the ceiling flicker to life, all computers onboard come back online, and the temperature starts rising to normal levels.

![]() |

Flenn shrugs. "No issues coming up on diagnostics ..." Flenn plugs his datajack in and tries to run internal sensors to see if there are any additional life signs or other anomalous energy readings, aside from the group of them.
Computers w/ ship bonus: 1d20 + 18 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 18 + 3 = 26

![]() |

Castana already looks bored. Alright, you guys fiddle with those doo-dads. I'll check out the next room. Looks like another room (hanging another right). Let's see what we have here. Anything interesting? Medical equipment is nice but we need a ship part.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

![]() |

Castana goes back through the medical bay. This time the robot is active and duefully cleaning up the mess. When it sees someone...
Please state the nature of the medical emergency

![]() |

Momo follows along with Castana, and when the robot speaks she automatically answers Clinical dep..., taking herself by surprise.
Hold on... she says, interrupting herself Medical robot, what has happened here?
Careful Castana, it might be malfunctioning

![]() |

Castana freezes. I don't know how to fix the robot. I was looking to the room ahead....

![]() |

If there's nothing else of interest in Engineering or Sick Bay, Alkekenji would ask Montmorency to ping everyone's comms, asking to meet in the central hallway (A7) and then proceed up to the bridge - going through A13, A14, and then A15. They'd keep an eye open, har har, for anything of interest, of traps at the doors. Taking 10 on Perception gives 21 for Alkekenji, and 17 for Montmorency.

diplomacy(momo): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Robot voiced by Robert Picardo
The robot is courteous and speaks in an elegant accent but is only capable of discussing medical matters. Momo learns that, a few hours before Lulora’s last transmission, the robot performed an emergency surgery on a female human subject, treating severe blunt trauma and wounds. The subject was Pinjatar, who was injured in a clash during the crew’s first exploration of the Revelry. She recovered well, but the crew were in a hurry to continue their mission, leaving the room in disarray. Why does no one leave my sickbay in the same state they found it the EMR complains.
A7 is the Nexus Passage. This passage is lined with an array of doors on either side and at each end, illuminated by a pale green glow from the signs that hang above them. The distant hum of machinery is broken by the occasional drip of water from the pipes.
Castana opens the door to the right, discovering A8 - the washroom. Two sinks flank the entrance to this long, dark washroom. On one side of the room is a row of toilets, and opposite to them stands a row of shower booths. A chill runs through the air, making the booth doors sway and creak.
Alkekenji enters the Mess Hall (A13). This spacious room features faux wood panels and soft lighting. On one side of the room stands a kitchen counter with a sink, a stove with blue lights, and a sleek food synthesizer. The cupboards are slightly ajar, revealing a few scattered utensils and supplies. On the other side of the room, dark blue booth seating that curves around a large, rectangular table, surrounding it on three sides. A wide window on the wall looks out onto the vast emptiness of space.
There’s a half-eaten meal left on the table, now moldy and covered in dust. The synthesizer’s touch screen still shows the list of ingredients for the crew’s last meal: a seafood casserole.
There are several movie and band posters on the walls. The largest of these is a picture of an Abysshead album cover, an aggrosynth band from Apostae. One of the band members has a heart drawn over his left cheek in what looks like plum-colored lipstick. A notebook on the table is opened to a page with a to-do list. Its items read “Gear up”, “Message to mom”, “Return L’s key”, with the first and last items crossed off as completed. Other pages are mostly filled with poetry and doodles of elves, astrazoans, and other creatures.

Did we check the other storage room? (A6)
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

![]() |

Assuming she finds nothing and it's a whole lot about nothing, she will then follow the rest of the group to the central areas.
Castana will then search the lavatory for anything unusual and then head to each of the crew members' quarters. Let's check Lulora's room as well. I know we had an injury but something else isn't adding up either.

![]() |

A6 was where the spare capacitor array was stored.
Castana checks out the washroom. In the last booth to the right, blood stains the walls.

![]() |

"I remain a bit, ah, fuzzy on how humanoids use these facilities, but even I know blood is usually not involved with the walls..."
Medicine: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
"Or maybe it is? Non-fibrous biology, indeed."

![]() |

Abysshead cover catches Terminatrix's eye and he starts humming to tune of a song. "Are we ready to enter the bridge of ship?" he asks while searching the mess hall
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

![]() |

I'm sorry, mister robot. Momo apologizes and helps to clean up the mess a bit, Do you have any idea what was the cause of the injuries?
She then follow Castana along to the crew quarters They've tried several times to get on that other ship. There must have been something dangerous they wannted to stop, but there so far we only know it causes blunt trauma and wounds. Maybe there are clues in the crew quarters.

![]() |

so far we only know it causes blunt trauma and wounds.
Kenji tilts their lantern-head at this, as if in thought. "Something tried to knock cargo over onto us while were collecting the spare array in the cargo bay; perhaps something similar happened to Lulora’s team? Based on my past experiences on Starfinder ships, it could be ship, or glitch, gremlins. Those things are everywhere, and love being a nuisance," they 'path, with a smidge of disgust colouring the sending.
"Are we ready to enter the bridge of ship?"
"Ready," Kenji confirms, once again moving up to the fore with the android, gripping their scythe.

![]() |

GM: Was I able to get control of the doors? If so, I'm keeping things sealed once we've explored them, to be sure there's nothing sneaking around that we don't know about. Unlikely, but just to be on the safe side. Also keeps the group from getting too split up.
Medicine: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
In the washroom, Flenn shakes his head and says to Alkekenji, "Whatever this bleedin's from, it didn't happen here. Not the right blood marks, no splatter from the initial impact. Must've been injured somewhere else, and then was bleedin' out when they came here to clean up.
He pulls his koto out, strumming the strings, and the device hums to life. "Okay, let's see what kind o' bloody chaos we're gonna find on this bridge, then ..."

![]() |

Apologies, I fell behind. Paizo was down much of yesterday and I couldn't access for when I was actually online.
Castana screams when she looks at the mirror at the top of her lungs yelling a few expletives in Lashunta.
will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
We need to be careful! We are being watched by something in the air. I can't explain it. Did any of you see anything?
Castana abruptly turns away from the mirror and also searches more in depth
perc: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

![]() |

Let's head to the bridge, we either see the start of something bad. I'm also wondering if we check out captain's quarters as well if we haven't already. Personally I am inclined to really check the entire ship in general. Anyone find any clues there or anywhere else?

![]() |

Kenji would have come running when they heard Castana scream. "What happened? Are you alright?" they 'pathed, switching to Castrovelian by default when hearing Castana swearing in same.
I think we're heading to the bridge now, yeah.

![]() |

Kenji, we're being watched. You wouldn't believe it, but I turned into an undead, or rather my image turned to undead when I looked at it. I think I was the only one in here at the time.

![]() |

Flenn looks startled at the lashunta. "What the bloody hell?" He has his koto up, the barrel pointing up the hallway. "Didn't see anything, luv, but you're no more undead than you were before. Probably just a trick of th' light, or th' mind ... could work up a neural shunt for you that'd compensate for that sort of thing, and bypass flaws in the neurological design."

![]() |

The next person to look in that mirror sees nothing out of the ordinary.
In the next room (A14), A soft red glow emanates from two consoles and displays located at each end of the room, illuminating this small and narrow space. This is the heart of the ship's defense system, providing real-time updates on the ship’s status and weapons capabilities and allowing gunners to aim and fire the ship’s weapons.
Did anyone divert to the crew quarters?

![]() |

Castana would have definitely run in and checked it out and scanned the room, at least on the way up.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Nothing to see here, carry on.

![]() |

Momo stays close to Castana when she visits the crewquarters. Maybe the crew kept diaries or logs of what happened here.
There's also A10 and A12 that we haven't visited, right?

![]() |

Discussion heard from the washroom made Terminatrix feel worried, but he wants to believe what Castana saw there has a rational explanation. He focuses on investigating if the weapon consoles of the ship are working correctly.
Engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

![]() |

Momo, are you seeing anything I'm not? Maybe we head to the pod section if not. If we're being watched, who knows if that being might be in an area we haven't searched yet...at least reduce the chance we get ambushed.

![]() |

Flenn accesses the console with the ship's defense systems, just to make sure there are no issues showing up on it.
I would reassure Castana that nothing is sneaking around on us, but I still am not clear if I was able to gain control over the doors or not. From this console, can I do an internal scan of the ship for any life signs?

![]() |

Momo, are you seeing anything I'm not? Maybe we head to the pod section if not. If we're being watched, who knows if that being might be in an area we haven't searched yet...at least reduce the chance we get ambushed.
I... my eyes are not so good, miss Fatris. I don't see in the dark that well. Momo says to Castana, turning a bit bleak when the latter starts mentioning ambushes The escape pods... let's inspect them, she says with a tremor in her voice, thinking of her own time in one, and adds hesitantly will you stay close-by? Although she usually hides away when spacetraveling, this particular ship doesn't really entice Momo to isolate herself.
I think we'd still want to look in the crew quarters, right? If Castana is along, I'd like to check out crew quarters and pods, if that's ok.

![]() |

In this environment, no one gets left behind, you can stand behind me as well if you prefer. I don't care of the order we check out the quarters and pods but if we are being watched, best to check both.

![]() |

"It's okay, Momo. You don't need to have good eyes," they 'path as their seedpod-head turns to point its 'front' in Momo's direction.
Kenji feels the need to help defend the squishier party members, so they'd move to be with whoever is going exploring.
"I can authorise you to ride my video feed, if you'd like a better view of the dark, Ms. Strawberry," Montmorency says, opening a data link to Momo's comm unit, if desired.
