Fethril Support |
So Enlarge Person takes effect now. Following it up with Bless.
Seeing that his magic is taking effect, the cleric infuses his allies the the holy word of his god. Fethril then moves away to allow James more space to attack their enemies.
James Rob-in-son |
As James grows in size, he yells out "Hey! What the... You outta warn a guy before you do that." He then attacks the guy still standing.
Scythe PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 1 + 1 = 16 Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 21
GM Fez |
Kelris hits his opponent and badly wounds the man with his halberd, though this does not stop the bloodlust in his opponent's eye. James cuts down the one standing humanoid in the grease as though he were wheat before James' scythe.
The remaining humanoids stand and continue their attempts to eat you. Black 5 ft. step west, attack Kel; Green stand, move 10 ft. north, provoke AoO from James; Blue stand, provoke AoO from James and Kel, attack James; Red stand, provoke AoO from James, attack James. Which target do you want to AoO? Assuming each takes less than 17 damage attack rolls are below.
Bash (Kel)!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Bite (Kel)!: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Snap (James)!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Crunch (James)!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Bleed!: 1d20 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 5 = 18
Again, their hunger prevents them from effectively attacking your party as jaws clack on empty air. The man in back continues to bleed heavily from his eyes and takes no further action.

I had bless but not bard song in the previous they are both here.
GM Fez |
James knocks the humanoid to his right back to the ground with the blade of his scythe. The person he hit does not attempt to get back up, probably due to the large cut across the chest. The humanoid that managed to get to its feet sways and avoids the blade of James' scythe at the last second. Aura has more luck and slips her blade between the bits of hide and leather strapped together as 'armor' to cut into her opponent.

>>sigh<< Why must we deal with the symptom and not the disease? Fethril stalks to the north and west, then launches a missle of pure force from his wand at the man in back.
MM damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Kelris Bartel |
Kelris launches another swing at the man-creature that he already attacked.
"What is this madness that affects them?"

Sabert |
Sabert keeps up his song, knowing that the best he can do is to keep bolstering his companions. Seeing the remaining cannibals get to their feet, he points at the nearest one and works another spell into his song.
Not sure what is what on the map, so I will cast Daze on one of the baddies that is standing and threatening the team. DC 13 Will.
GM Fez |
Kelris cuts down the humanoid fighting him as Fethril moves to take out the madness bringer. Sabert's spell goes off, but it appears the one he targets is in too much of a frenzy to be affected by his magic. All continue their attacks, determined to kill and eat by the slavering looks on their faces.
Bash (James)!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

GM Fez |
James, Kelris, and Aura gang up on one of the last standing humanoids and manage to bring it down without much trouble. Fethril launches another magical bolt and damages the one standing in the back, who doesn't respond to the pain.

Sabert |
Sabert follows up behind the rest of the team and finishes his song. He examines the remaining person, and tries to communicate with him. "Why did your people attack us? Who are you?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
GM Fez |
We'll call it combat over since the Surrogate is the only one left standing.
The man's eyes stop weeping blood as the last of his companions falls still. Looking closer it is clear this man is comatose and has been for some time. It is unclear how he was able to affect the others earlier given his condition.
Just north of Sabert you can make out of the mist a gruesome scarecrow constructed of tree branches, jungle vines, and bloodstained human bones. The skull-headed effigy accusingly points a bony arm down the trail leading west.
Following the trail leads to a split in the path, one leading north, the other leading further west before curving south.
West
In the center of this clearing stands a large standing stone, about five feet in diameter and twelve feet tall. Carved into the dark stone are dozens of leering one-eyed humanoid faces, their mouths agape as if preparing to appease some unspeakable hunger.
North
A crack in the earth splits the ground here, most of it covered by thick weeds and the roots of a huge strangler fig tree. There are several gaps between the roots through which an adventurer might squeeze. Below the tangled roots is a deep shaft that descends into the gloom. Congratulations, you've found a way into the tomb of Sevenfingers!
GM Fez |
The thirty-foot-long, root-covered crack extends deep into the Gloomspire. Numerous gnarled tree roots creep down the sides of the shaft, a few of them hanging almost to the muddy floor. Dozens of shallow niches are set at irregular intervals down each of the four walls of the shaft. Though some are empty, most of the recesses hold squat, four-foot-tall stone idols of leering, horned fiends. So how are you getting down?
Kelris Bartel |
Kelris will take out his coil of rope, tying it off to the strongest looking root, letting the rope go down the shaft. After the rope is down, Kelris rummages around in his back and pulls out a stick, cracking it, the stick starts to grow with a soft light Kelris throws it down the shaft.
how far down can I guess?"
Sabert |
Sabert gives the weird monolith a wide berth, not even beginning to know where to start in identifying it or any of the carvings. As he moves carefully along the path to the entrance to the tomb, he keeps his eyes open for any other surprises.
"Wait! Before we try and climb down those ropes, lets tie knots along it.. say every foot or so. That way it will be easier to get down, and we will be sure to be able to get back out!" Sabert interjects, walking forward to begin the tedious process. He sits on the edge of the hole tying the knots, but keeps one eye on the yawning darkness before him.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Any knowledge checks pertinent to any of this?
GM Fez |
I'm back. Let's keep going!
Ropes fall into the shaft and land with light thunks on the ground. Based on the length of rope used it's 40 feet all told. Everyone begins the descent I'm assuming Take 10 on DC 0 or 5 depending on rope or knotted rope and makes it down without too many issues. As the last of you touches down the idols in the niches above begin falling towards you!
Idols!: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

James and Sabert deftly avoid the idols crashing towards them, Fethril's is stopped by the invisible force he put on himself or the last battle, and Kelris fails to avoid his, resulting in a sore neck and arm. There is a door in this chamber leading south.
James Rob-in-son |
"Are you ok Kelris? We'll move on when you are ready."
James then goes to the door and checks it for traps and then tries to open it if it is trap free after Kelris is ready.

Sabert |
Sabert helps Kelris to his feet, then looks towards the door. "Find anything over there, James?" he calls out before returning his attentions to Kelris. "I can heal that for you.. just a moment.. There! All set, my friend!" A wand appears from Saberts belt, then disappears just as quickly after discharging its healing properties.

Fethril Support |
Seeing that the bard has taken care of the minor healing task, Fethril offers the warrior a congratulatory pat on the back. "Well done! You found something to bring back from the mission Kelris. I hope you didn't damage it too much. Very nice effort!"
Kelris Bartel |
by all means
Kelris smirks at the Elf, "I thought maybe you would like to keep it, I just figured I would carry the heavy object for you."
Kelris will take up the rear of the group.
Fethril Support |
Oblivious the sarcasm completely, "That is very considerate of you Kelris. Actions like that surely demonstrate your dedication to the Pathfinder oath to 'Cooperate'. Well done young man. Although I had no interest in such a damaged specimen, I applaud your efforts. We are certainly making progress."
Fethril will carry on 'helping' Kelris discover all his faults by hanging back with the fighter in the marching order.
James Rob-in-son |
"If you want to go first I won't stop you Aura, they keeping telling me civilized people let the ladies go first. I've never been accused of being civilized though. How can it be civilized to let the ladies get attacked first was never explained to me though. I'll be right behind you though in case ya need me." James says as he holds the door open for Aura.
James Rob-in-son |
James smiles at Aura, "I've no interest in walking into a pit trap whether I would survive or not. I was assenting to your wish to go first. If you want me to go first I will gladly."
Sabert |
Smirking at the multiple rounds of tit-for-tat going on around him, Sabert leans against the wall with his arms crossed and a foot kicked up under his bum. His head follows the back and forth of both conversations, but he does allow a chuckle at Kelris' expense. "Whenever you sort yourselves out, I will find my place. However, until then.. this is extremely amusing!!"
Looking for somewhere in the middle, but fine with moving to the rear if thats contested too!!
GM Fez |
The sickly sweet smell of rotting meat fills this perfectly square, low-ceilinged chamber. The east wall features a large bas-relief carving portraying a wide-eyed hag devouring her own hands.
Scanning the room there is only one thing that stands out, the corpse of one of the humanoids that you fought previously, sitting upright in the southwest corner. It is bloated and wormy in addition to missing its left arm and bearing several horrific bite wounds.
Kelris Bartel |
Wis Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
"That is quite the sight, I do not wish to be like him. Fethril if I get like that please end me!" Kelris wants to see how the elf will react.
Fethril Support |
With a chipper smile on his face, the cleric responds, "Have no fear Kelris. I would take action to end you long before anything like this happened."
Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Please be on your guard as whom or whatever is responsible for this did it recently. We may be dealing with cannibals."
The elf recites a basic incantation and starts to look around the room.
