I don't think the ones who sided against us should have a vote since they followed the orders of a traitor!!!
Nuts seems confused. "You're not very sold on this democracy thing, are you? What if the crew didn't allow mutineers to vote? Would you like that?"
He sighs. "Fine. I vote Capricia for captain, perhaps until the crew votes for a new one."
Vikla Ragnardottir
Now where in the hell did my post go :)
Capricia should do a reasonable job indeed. Vikla gives her assent
As for those 2, I invite all aboard who have been wronged by them to come forward and be heard. Starting with you Rosie.
Lets air all the grievances, this way everyone participates, including from the crew, and the Rahadoumi get a better idea of what we mutinied over. Show trials can be good teambuilding.
Vikla is planning to have, not neccessarily a show trial, but to make punishing Scourge and Plug a communal act. While also setting the baseline for captain behaviour as low as possible. She is starting with Rosie because she is a) very expressive and b) fairly fearless. Its not super manipulative, and a very reasonable thing to do overall.
Emerald Delta Waters
Perception: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
I did that wrong, only rolled a d6
potion cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
we have a nomination (my vote), second and a third, all in favor say I.
so the dm will vote for the crew. I like democracy just fine, I am just playing my character, who has been abused and doesn't like the politics, besides as as snobby elf, she is more a imperialist. In most imperious society, only the chosen few can vote and not the masses, so that's her mindset. The danger of that mindset is like you said, If we had not won, we would be the ones called traitor.
brvheart
Capricia still needs to accept the role. It is a huge responsibility from here on out.
You need also the following officers
First mate Vilka?
boatswain and master-at-arms Rosie?
ship's surgeon Nuts?
navigator
quartermaster Emma
Cooks Manny and Fishguts
Vikla Ragnardottir
Vikla is culturally a fusion of Kellid and Ulfen customs, with some shackles piracy on top. They typically choose warchiefs at an assembly, in which everyone who bears weapons for the tribe gets to make his case (initially not for themselfs, it is better if others speak for you then if you do so yourself), and then the candidate is chosen/confirmed by acclimation. At least thats the theory.
She has seen it in practice on the previous ship she was on.
Vikla could also do ships surgeon, her heal is a +8 but she has a reasonable suite of people skills. Also, she is infected with ghoul fever, which will likely come up soon.
Capricia the Pirate
Capricia is deep in thought, weighing who she will vote for, when she realizes that she's heard her own name multiple times. She snaps out of her reverie to find several people looking at her expectantly.
Me? Captain??!!
Clearing her throat, the pirate lass looks out over the crew. "If you ask me to be captain, then I will accept and do my best. I don't want my leadership to begin with bloodshed, though, so I second the suggestion of marooning Plugg and Scourge on the island. Anyone else who doesn't wish to sail under me and my new officers can opt to join those two and take your chances on the island as well. What say you?"

The six crew that are hostile will stay on the island with Plugg and Scourge. The four Rahadoumi Sailors though were only looking to stay alive so they will stay with the ship. Their attitude will be neutral to start with.
Emerald Delta Waters
I think we can go to the cove and do the repair work ourselves and save 5000 gold. I can disassemble the infernus and retrofit man's promise and we can go to rickety sayings after we get some money.
Ambrose “Fishguts” Kroop
Gonna need a dry dock as well. As for the money, Pluggs, the Queens and Scourge's weapons should more than pay for it. I for one do no relish being stuck here when Harleson comes a lookin'! Never hear noby paying 5000 gold fer squibin' no ship.
Besides, ain't nobody look in Plugg's Office? He's got plunder in there worth 2000 gold!

You and Nuts work that out. Sandara can help as well. Her, Kroop and Rosie will stick around til the end of the AP.

Most ships that sail the Inner Sea region, such as
the Man’s Promise, were crafted by hand in shipyards
throughout Avistan and Garund. Though ships of the
same type are similar in attributes and size, they each
have their own look and lines, which the practiced eye
of an experienced sailor can recognize in the dark by the
silhouette alone. Successfully stealing a ship and hiding
it from its owners requires more than a name change and
a new coat of paint—there must be a complete rebuild of
the superstructures and rigging in order to change the
way it looks. Such an overhaul is superficial in nature and
changes none of a ship’s characteristics, but it does give a
ship a different appearance and lines so that even someone
familiar with the original ship can only determine the
falsehood after several minutes of careful study.
Changing the identity of a ship in such a way is
not cheap and must be done in secret or word would
quickly get out of the ship’s new identity. Powerful Free
Captains with their own home ports are able to do such
modifications in their own private shipyards and dry
docks, and captains with access to skilled carpenters
and shipwrights among their crews often make such
changes far out at sea away from the shipping lanes or
while beached on some distant shore. But not everyone
has access to those sorts of resources. As a result, a side
industry of sorts has grown into existence at remote
locations throughout the Shackles and just beyond its
borders, where captains can find discreet craftspeople
willing to do the work quickly and with the promise of
silence for the right price.

After taking a look at the ship for a while, he joins in on the conversation.
"I can do carpentry, I know a little anatomy, and over the last few weeks, I got pretty good at climbing the rigging. I also like to think my eyesight is pretty good, so I suppose I could also work well in the crow's nest."
He pauses. "So lookout in shifts, rigger, carpenter, and if you are really adamant on losing a limb or two... medical duty." he shudders. "I can do those, and you've all seen I perform my duties diligently, wherever I am assigned."
He moves up to Capricia. "So, Captain, I applaud your decision to not have this end in further bloodshed. However, I would also have an additional suggestion." he leans in for a whisper. "I believe there is another ship somewhere on the island. Perhaps we should set it ablaze to make it a little harder for the former officers?"
Emerald Delta Waters
A say we strip the ship supplies and load the hold, it's sunk partly in the lagoon, but we have good swimmers.

The rotting hulk of a shipwreck leans in a bed of coral just off the southern shore. The wreck of the Chelish scout ship Infernus lies on a
reef in shallow water, some 20 feet below the surface at low tide.| Capricia the Pirate |
"Aye, we should probably check out that shipwreck in greater detail, both to see if it carried any swag that still remains in its hold and to see if it's intact enough for Plugg and his sycophants to use to escape their new island home," Capricia says after giving the matter a bit of consideration.
Perhaps our party can take jolly boats to the shipwreck to explore it either before we finalize the fixes on the Man's Promise or after it's fixed, if Plugg and his gang can be tied up tightly and our allies can keep control of the ship while its officers are away briefly.

I agree with the marooning
Vikla offers while scratching one of her ghoul-inflicted wounds.
Since the stupid prohibition on using magic is lifted, I can begin doing some serious work with mending, a cantrip which I can cast as often as I want, and masterwork transformation, in an hour, I can turn anything into being masterwork, but Besmara demands gold in gifts for that. It basically allows me to act as a skilled craftsman, but quicker.
Also, anyone who sails without, gather round so your wounds be healed She says in general before addressing the Rahadoumi in particular
I respect your mettle, adherents of the law of man.
It is no small feat to proudly and openly defy the gods and remain standing, come heaven or hell.
I pledge upon my power that no debt is incurred between thee and Lady Besmara by being in the area of my channeled energy, the gift is mine to use as I see fit, and I couldnt exclude you even if I wanted to. She speaks with a fair bit of respectfull formality, which the Rahadoumi who just were defeated probably didnt expect.
diplomacy if applicable: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Vikla does have ambitions about converting them, but absolutely not by force, and in a very polite fashion. And only after getting them to trust her a bit by genuinely helping them.
Looking forward, her pitch would be that she would accept that the laws of man that Rahadoum follows, specifically the argument that gods are petty and often vicious overlords playing with the lives of their followers, arent that far off, but that Besmara for one is pretty honest about this, far more so then f.e. Saerenrae.
In addition, she would eventually put forward that Besmara greatly values those who manage to vex gods, if it is done with style even those who outfox her, and is likely among the deities most likely to view mortals as near equals.
brvheart
Like I said the Infernus is a rotting wreck some 20' below the surface so I don't see anyone ever sailing it again. But you are welcome to swim down and check for treasure.
Laroisael
Laroisael weighs in her opinion on the subject. "I don't think it's necessary or wise to search a half sunken ship. We might be better off focusing on our own ship. Plus we have no idea what's in that ship-I don't believe the crew can handle a risk of losing their new captain."
brvheart
Ok, I put the Invernus up in Roll20. Not sure anyone can roll a Profession Sailor high enough to get it to sail again!!!
Emerald Delta Waters
Yes, rickety squibbs, not anything left of the infernus without powerful magic to raise her. Maybe later, we can come back and restore her with conjuration magic.
brvheart
Another obstacle (perhaps the most important) remains,
however—the matter of sailing within the Shackles.
Even if the PCs manage to remake the Man’s Promise
into a new vessel that will not be recognized by Captain
Harrigan or his associates, they still face the prospect of
being a new ship into pirate waters with no reputation to
back them up. The Free Captains of the Shackles have a
name for this sort of vessel: prey. Unless the PCs want to
constantly fend off attacks from their fellow freebooters,
they have to make a name for themselves as pirates along
the fringes of the Shackles first in order to be accepted
and respected as peers among the other Free Captains, a
fact that they can realize with another DC 15 Knowledge
(local) or Profession (sailor) check (or advice from a helpful
NPC ally).
In order establish this name and acquire a reputation,
the PCs must accumulate both plunder and Infamy by
performing acts of piracy. The PCs should keep track
of both of these scores, as they must acquire a sufficient
amount of each to enter the society of the Free Captains
successfully. It is important that they achieve high scores
in both of these attributes, as pirates with a high Infamy
score but not much plunder will be seen as merciless and
cruel raiders, interested more in brutality than profit, and
will thus be accepted by few and trusted by none, while a
lot of plunder and a low Infamy score means that other
pirate crews will see the PCs as fresh meat just waiting
to be butchered and looted. The current status for plunder
and Infamy is 2 each.
That and you still need to settle on a new name for the ship!

Rounding the tall headland reveals a hidden
cove at the mouth of a wide jungle river, its
sluggish brown waters staining the waters of the blue sea
like an ugly bruise. A series of docks has been built upon this
estuary, with buildings concealed beneath the overhanging
limbs of the jungle beyond. A wooden watchtower stands upon
the promontory of the headland, carefully concealed among
the trees to provide a clandestine view of the seas.
As the Man’s Promise sails past the headland, a checkered
f lag of yellow and red is raised above the tower on the
promontory, and an answering f lag of blue is hoisted upon
a yardarm at the docks ahead. A number of humanoid
figures emerge from the shaded buildings and gather on
a pier. A small, single-masted longboat soon sets out from
the boathouse on the estuary to meet the Man’s Promise,
and its crew hails you, asking you to drop anchor to
discuss terms
Nutѕ
Once the Man's Promise departs, Nuts starts running around checking with the crew. "Okay, guys, I need a rag, a few lengths of rope, and some tar in a bucket. Hurry before someone sees us!"
With extreme urgency, he scrambles around for the required supplies. Once he has everything he needs, he ties a piece of rope around his belt, and to the other end, he ties the bucket with the tar. Out of another rope, he makes something resembling a harness. Using the remainder of the harness rope, he makes several knots on the railing and climbs over.
"Be right back..." he smiles. He takes the brush and starts smearing tar on the ship's sides just next to the place where the original name was. After a short while, he climbs back on board. Tar patches and splatter are on his clothes and face, but he seems satisfied with his work.
"We're safe. All's good." he smiles as he leaves to store whatever supplies he used.
Leaning over the edge of the ship, you see he did something to the name text.
brvheart
Vilka, as first mate its your job to step up when the captain is otherwise obtained. Just a fancy dancy way of saying she's busy!!!
brvheart
A rather elderly bucaneer hails the boat from the deck of the longboat Peccarine, Permission to come aboard.
Capricia the Pirate
Capricia comes up from below deck and chuckles at the name Nuts has given the vessel. "That's good enough for now, but I doubt Harrigan's dumb enough to not see through that. We'll have to come up with a new name soon."
"Permission granted," she calls to the old-timer.

Names Rickety Hake. Welcome to Rickety Squibbs. Let me look over yer vessel and we can come to a price for squibbing
Rickety is accompanied by six sailors armed only with dirks. They are not looking for a fight and retreat back to the settlement if attacked.
Rickety Hake is a short, stoop-backed old man with a
leathery, weatherworn face; watery blue eyes; and a halo of
frizzy white hair.
After a 20 tour of the ship he says I can make it look like a completely different ship for 2000 GP in cash or trade. It will take

He states you are welcome to stay at the Commons while you wait.
A once-grand building with broad wings extending from its
ground floor stands at the end of the docks, its octagonal dome
topped by a cupola. It was obviously a fine villa in its day but
time and the harsh sun and rains of the Slithering Coast have
faded its paint and cracked its boards, leaving it a gray ghost
of its former self. A painted board above the veranda names it
as “Rickety’s Squibs.” Smaller, less grandiose hovels and sheds
clapped together of flotsam and jetsam surround the larger
building and merge into the jungle behind it.
brvheart
Guests at Rickety’s Squibs are put up in the somewhat shabby
accommodations of the main house, which does at least
have a taproom, a small market, and a functioning chow
hall that serves the entire settlement. The shade of the
jungle canopy here is welcome, as the heat is merciless
and many of the trees are wilted with browning leaves that
show the effects of an extended drought.
brvheart
Losing Plugg's sycophants means you are a bit short on crew. Since you will be here a week, you can take advantage of the fact there is a small settlement here to try and hire a few more crew. They may do so at
any port or settlement, or upon the successful capture of
another ship, by making a DC 20 Bluff (to trick sailors on
board), Diplomacy (to convince people to join the crew),
or Intimidate (to press-gang new crew) check. Each such
check takes 1 full day, and a successful check results in
1d4+2 new crew members for your ship.

how about
Besmara's Blessing or my favorite, Thor's Thunderbolt.
A woman's promise is definitely an improvement over a man's promise, The value assessment is significantly higher!!
grinning ear to ear
I had a good bed back at the cabin, but I can make due with anything.
Ahoy, me think's we should avoid press gang's tactics, avast ye, I have sleep spell to sink em, we should be able to keep here with that, if we can get em on board that is mate's, savvy. Now me hearties, where can one get a clap of thunder!! I feel dry as a bone.

"Aye--Besmara's Blessing sounds good to me," Capricia tells Emma. She keeps to herself the similarly-themed name she came up with: The Besmaracuda.
To Nuts she says, "That sounds advisable, unless you think we need to keep a small contingent on guard at all times to make sure our good squibbers don't go in places they ought not go."
