Raphaeleos tends to the wounded. Lindevaile strikes a threatening pose, then heals the gunslinger. Caitlin moves out to improve her aim and it works, once. Harsk turns to the hulking arachnid and hacks away. Zibini's mind stretches to heal and fortify his defenses.

@Raphaeleos Technically, Dred made his first save so he was never poisoned. You can have your action (and hero point!) back from Round 3.
Dred shakes off the venom and blasts the spider at point blank range once again before finding safer ground. The lurkers continue their assault, each succeeding once. The spider lashes out at all around, bloodying Harsk again and clubbing Lindevaile with its spindly leg.

Oh. Zibini does not like his current position on this battlefield, not at all.
But if he could just push the big spider back...
The three remaining giggling goblins conjure the image of a dogslicer between them, and slice it through the air at the big spider. They then scurry away to a safer distance.

Shortly after the battle, as you are exploring the near tunnels for any other immediate danger, you can hear the Iolite Squad’s victorious shouts from beyond the collapsed rubble. It takes about an hour for the two groups working together to dig out the deadfall debris and free the hobgoblins. The Squad has vanquished another giant tarantula on their own; Ozaril has a vicious bite wound, but they otherwise fared well in the battle.
"Your tutelage served us well, we were able to take on the mighty spider without great loss." Sergeant Drussem nods with pride.

![]() |

"Hi-ii! Great, you all made it! See, it all works when we work together. Come, let's get everyone's wounds healed. I still have wind in me, and Raphaelos can help you, too", Lindevaile Tindome greets the hobgoblins as the way opens again.
Heal whatever is needed. 5 spell slots remaining so might be enough to keep Ozaril up until the poison ends.

The group begins the long process of healing up.
With the abandoned dig site cleared of danger, the Iolite Squad can fully explore the site. A thorough search of the rest of the ruined dig site allows the Iolite Squad to discover several objects in surprisingly good condition, from religious symbols and prayer beads to precious gems and a standard-grade cold iron shield. Moreover, they discover signs that this location was once a way station of sorts for dwarven travelers, but they also find the remains of ancient writings that suggest this was a hideout of some kind for an exiled religious sect. They lack the knowledge to piece together exactly when these dwarves used the site, or when it was built, but they are eager to continue their research once they reach Absalom. There is pride in Sergeant Drussem’s eyes as she sees her squad poring over their findings.
Over the next few days, you recover completely and can escort the Iolite Squad to Korvosa, where they board a ship to Absalom. There (in dress uniform), they report their findings and the results of their joint training at the Grand Lodge to an initially dubious Ambrus Valsin.
Once the successful debriefing is over, Sergeant Drussem steps over to your group and with an obvious growing confidence and comfort --- shakes your hands. "Thanks for completing our field training and I hope that our two teams can work together in the future."
Later, you receive a letter from Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch commending you all for your successful diplomatic mission. She expresses uncertainty at what the future holds for the Society and the nation of Oprak, but is also confident that it is brighter thanks to your successful mission.

"It was like having children. Very tall children. Probably."
Zibini is not familiar with raising children.

![]() |

"Isn't teamwork usually taught when you are an adult? Children are taught to take care of themselves, sneak around, and hide from anyone trying to get them, and to steal food... well... maybe it depends on culture?" Lindevaile Tindome joins Zibini's discussion of weird experiences in raising children.
"Anyway, we did really well! Maybe we'll meet again on other missions, but now it's time for a rest in Absalom, time to dance, report and cooperate! Hmm, did someone have the report"
