Thank you very much for having me! This is "Whysper" who I named knowing Whisper by itself was taken as a username... but it turns out, Whysper is too. So I just decided to go with Whisper of Westcrown as a username, hope that's okay.
Fixed some of my math and made some minor tweaks to background (identified the devil her mother made a deal with and indicated her mother was already pregnant but the deal with the devil tainted the child. Which can give Whisper a little resentment she might have had a normal life.).

Thanks for the selection GM, and hi everyone!
I've mostly got Everett's profile sorted, got a few gold to spend. One thing I'm trying to find out is how much an easel and paints cost. That's decidedly not combat equipment, I guess Everett has luggage.
Whisper of Westcrown
Everett, GM might say differently, but I would say that easel and paints could be considered as part of the generic 5 gp "artisan tools" for Craft (Painting) (or the relevant background skill). It would probably also include brushes, canvas frames, turpentine, etc.

Sounds good to me!
Cassynder the Crownless

Reporting in! And as Whisper has opted to have "of Westcrown" as a surname, I've amended Cassynder's name accordingly to "Cassynder of the Upper Reach!"
However I am now debating whether I want to do the spiky goat horns like I initially wrote or go more for a bull-like tri-horn setup. What do you folks think?
Nita Cobbles
I love making characters, truly I do. I love applying for games, reading all the other entries, thinking about how we would all fit together. Playing is even better.
But there is one thing I always struggle with. Picking a profile picture. One to fit the description you create (or to fit the picture you picked outside of paizo) and the feel of your character in general.
So I am working on it. Still looking so this one may or may not be the final. The number of profile pictures with glasses are low...
horn choice is hard too... spiky I love, nice and classic. Bull horn is more exotic (hard to sleep on your side though).

Awesome, thanks!

Heya Cassynder, it's been a while. I'm Kaska from Brianiac's Iron Gods.
How ya been?
Spiky goat horns never go out of style.
I been doing great! Hopefully Cassynder will prove at least slightly different from Fireday. :P
Yeah, I was kind of inspired by Pathfinder's own rosethorn ram, as well as the various horns of antelopes.

Ohh, that's a good point...though, on the other hand if I sleep on my side with the thorny horns, they may tear up the pillows!
Also, thinking maybe of a more evocative nickname...how does "Cassynder the Crownless" sound to you folks?

I have also been suffering an avatar-identity crisis but I think I have settled on one that works. I think technically the picture I've picked is supposed to be male, but, eh, I feel the gender expression is fairly neutral here it'll work for my character. Indeed, often I find the secret to finding the right picture is not to use many filters--takes longer, but sometimes the filters limit appropriate results for a given character.
I hear you on the glasses-less images! Not for this character but another one I was desperate to find something right for my blind oracle who wears specs and nothing quite worked.
I also made a mini for her in HeroForge for extra visual reference and kicks and giggles.
Also generally prettified and organized my character sheet.

The Crownless sounds Great. And whisper, the mini also looks great. I love heroforge, and have made MANY figures, though have only ever bought two of them (still unpainted sadly).
I would prefer to avoid graphic descriptions of violence against kids. Eluding as a plot device is okay.

If things get NSFW then I'd recommend putting it in spoilers and or fading to black. Sometimes hinting that something awful happened is more powerful than actually showing it.

Agreed.
I would also prefer to avoid explicit or prolonged references to sexual abuse or assault, and where it is necessary for the story to provide trigger warnings first.
I would ask that anyone wanting to initiate violence or intimacy with my character (or really any character) should ask the player first and not describe actions in a way that assume reciprocation/presume consent. I feel like that should go without saying and yet I brought this up to a previous GM in another game and he acted like I was crazy for mentioning it, so.
GM thanks for asking this.

You are not crazy, not in the least little bit, for requesting that.

A question involving gear. I generally don't bother buying a full load of stuff to cover any situation in urban campaigns because I figure if the need for a bedroll, for example, arises, I'll just go buy one when the time comes.
Is this a sensible way for me to think about purchases in this campaign as well?

Sure. I'll inform you if/when the situation changes.
Nita Cobbles
I find it very sensible!
I did the same for Nita, though I still managed to spend nearly all of it. Area map is expensive.
Sanchia Corvus
Alrighty. Thanks GM CWDD. I also sometimes split out quantities of an item and designate some portion as "at home". For example, Sanchia has 10 candles, but who walks around day-to-day carrying 10 candles? More likely she'll have maybe 2 carried, and the rest at home.
Cassynder the Crownless

Cassynder still has his bedroll and other travel gear because technically he's a hobo (not a MURDERhobo, though)! He's basically been hitchhiking his way back to Westcrown after leaving the monastery, and the mountains it's located at are on Cheliax's eastern border with Andoran.

I'm not sure how this AP starts, I've resisted the temptation to look so I'm going to fall back to something stereotypical as a suggestion:
Most of our characters are young and grew up in West Crown so maybe we know each other, at least in passing. Perhaps we've frequented the same Inn, or coffee house or something like that.
Nita Cobbles
Nita is not young, but has a shop that sells drawing supplies so might have tempted our painters, and oddities that could have tempted our whisper. Got nothing for the crown less though... unless he sold stolen things when he was a kid to Bobble (one of her partners and friend) a while ago.
Just a suggestion, happy with anything coffee related.
Whisper of Westcrown
Whisper is a courier that does both official and "unofficial" deliveries. She could have met most if you in the line of work, or in passing/stopping by somewhere for a drink.
She could have stopped in Nita's shop for oddities, yes... Or materials related to her deliveries.

Honestly it's likely if any of you high-falutin' nobles or businessfolk had interacted with Cassynder during his childhood, it'd have been because he was acting as a distraction for their parents/guardians while Palaveen or one of their other friends was cutting their purse or doing some shoplifting. :P

Perhaps Everett's probably been a loyal customer for some time. While not (yet) friends, he'd likely say hello if he saw Nita in the street.
Re Sanchia, it sounds like the Corvus family are somewhat wealthy so perhaps Everett's father sold Uncle Quintus and Aunt Petronia some paintings?
I can well imagine Everett's father might have employed Whisper in the course of business. Everett himself is tantalised by the possibility the council of thieves are still there in the shadows, so he maybe asked Whisper some odd questions in the past.
I reckon Everett doesn't know Cassynder at the beginning of the campaign.
Sanchia Corvus
Sanchia could very well know about and visit Nita's shop occasionally. And yes, Sanchia might know Everett in some way through a connection between their families. A coffee shop would be a place she'd most likely spend some time.
I doubt she would be very central to any social connections. She's not misanthropic or a hermit, but she does spend a lot of her time up in her own head, and her pursuits lend themselves to solitary work in libraries, bookstores and such.
She enough money to not have to bother with an occupation at this time. But the family wealth is more in the aunt and uncle's line than her own.

combined with the humidity, it feels less like a phenomenon of nature more like the breath of a particularly hate-filled monster’s maw.
I didn't realize Westcrown was the East Coast of the U.S. right now.

When I attempted to run CoT as an amateur GM, I turned it into a hee-hoo funny: Shanwen Shanwen would speak redundantly, boasting of his "faithful faith" in Asmodeus and calling the party "FOOLISH FOOLS!", as well as just referring to himself in third-person at every opportunity. :3

FYI work will be busy for the coming week. I may be slower than usual to post. If you need to fast forward my scene to get us together if others are ready, please do so.
In the current situation, while Whisper might become a heroic type eventually, she isn't right now. She's a neutrally aligned tiefling in a city working against her, which an NPC has just reminded her of. So apart from doing a little spying, she is unlikely to directly intervene in the situation unfolding. At most, if she hears/sees someone able to escape, she may throw something/use a distraction to help them get away. Otherwise she's just listening as long as either it satisfies her curiosity or she deems it unsafe to stick around.
