Argigoth slashes the spider man with his tusk leaving a jagged wound then breathes poison gas into his face. The spider man coughs and sputters as it slowly collapses into an unsettling dead spider humanoid creature.
Mikhail steps into the with a raised shield and dagger ready to stab the creature.

He then begins to check the room for contents (I’m assuming Argigoth will check the spiderman…) that might be useful…

Once Perrik arrives Tain will turn to look at the strange spider-man and while checking it for any items, will try to ascertain what it is...

(Option 4 it is)
It takes a handful of hours to treat Argigoth’s extensive wounds before the party is ready to venture forth once again.
Continuing from the dining room through the north door that takes some brute force to open you find a stone oven in the northwest corner marking this spacious room as a kitchen. Cabinets and tables line the walls, and a wide washbasin stands next to the western door. Several cabinet doors stand open, and pots and long-handled spoons lie scattered across the floor. Two doors stand in the east wall—one to the south, and a heavier door in the west wall. The shutters over the north window hang askew.
One of the east doors leads to the Pantry. Shelves line the walls of this narrow pantry. A few empty crocks and boxes are all that remain on the shelves. A heap of empty sacks and broken crockery lies on the floor.

Celosia and Mikhail notice that something has been in this area and has eaten all the remaining foodstuff left by the fisherfolk in the Pantry. Searching through the heaps of debris on the floor you spot a tiny tunnel gnawed between this room and the adjacent bedroom.
Mikhail notices a few iridescent scales along the tunnel’s edges and a bit of feathery down. The war priest associates this combination of scales and feathers with a type of goodly creature known as a couatl. Though most couatls are larger than a human, this hole is large enough for only a creature the size of a small cat.
Celosia thinks it is probably a cat that has been dining on birds and snakes.
Whatever the creature is it may still be living in the next room.
Do you leave it alone and continue exploring or investigating the creature further?

Mikhail knows that Couatls are large, brightly colored serpents with feathered wings. Good-natured, these creatures aid mortals and oppose evildoers, but sighting one presents a momentous occasion—these magnificent, albeit reclusive creatures rarely appear.
The smallest members of the couatl family, Scalliwings resemble their larger kin but are roughly the size of a house cat, and an irascible mischievous streak tempers their kindly nature.
He believes they can speak common but that is the extent of his knowledge about these creatures.
The druid mentally agrees with Celosia that it's just a cat, but he has not shared that opinion.
Tain Hekkanen
Tain listens carefully as Mikhail explains about couatls and scalliwings. He gets down on his hands and knees, and cupping his hands around his mouth calls into the tunnel.
”Helloooo Scalliwing! We are friendly! We have come to clear out the monsssterrrrs! We have dealt with the spiders and spider-man-thing!!! Doo nottt beeee afraid!!!!”
He then stands up and dusts off his knees.
”There! That should do the trick. Or at least, we might still get tricked but it knows we’re friendly and it won’t be scared!”
If it a) can hear down the tunnel and b) understand, I’m happy for you to roll any Diplomacy you need to GM…

Tain calls through the tunnel to the Scalliwing about clearing out the monster and spider-man-thing and that the group is friendly
The rest of the group waits for a response.
You hear a yawn stretching sounds before a tiny delighted voice replies ”That’s wonderful! You deal with that mean old bully in the dining room. He kept sending spiders to try and catch me in their webs. Thanks that was very nice of you to take care of it for me! I would like to return the favor in some way.”
After a few moments a tiny head of a brightly colored serpent with feathered wings peers out through the tunnel. She tilts her head and grins, showing her sharp teeth. ”I’m Olli and I live here, do you have a name?”

I thought you were just a cat, not a ...whatever you are. I know they told me what you were called, but I don't remember what that was. We're here to make the place nice for human things to live in again. What do you mean by the spiders trying to catch up? Do you know anything else about what's here? Do you want to keep living here? I'm sure the inn person would let you. You would be such an unusual houseguest..." She winds down a little, visibly trying to keep her hands to herself instead of petting the shiny.

Tain laughs with mirth at the little serpent's appearance.
He too crouches down.

Celosia chats excitedly with Olli. Olli comes out of the tunnel and shows off ” I’m beautiful, aren’t I? Don’t you like how my scales shine? It’s because I’m a couatl.”
“What’s an Inn? But you are such good friends—of course, you can stay here. You can even pick out your own bedrooms! This one, obviously, is already taken. As for other creatures besides the spiders and the bully spider. There is a blue spirit in the far bedroom but he keeps to himself. There are some rats and goo in some of the outer shacks.”
Tain introduces the rest of the party.
Agrigoth breaks his silence to give his name.

After spending some time chatting with Olli the group resumes the exploration of the fishing camp.
The door to the northeast bedroom has a worn scrap of paper tacked just above the handle. The faded writing says, “Finley’s Room—leave ‘em be.”
(Do you want to open the door or leave it be?)
Behind two other doors the group finds a bedroom that is starkly appointed. A wooden bedframe has slats but no mattress, with a battered trunk at its foot. On the other side of the room is a small, simple table holding a ceramic pitcher and a matching, empty bowl. Tightly latched shutters over the windows block out the light.
Opening the door to the center room reviles a bedroom with a tangle of cobwebs that fill the room obscuring the details of the bed and table within.
Taiin is the first to step into the web covered room clearing the webs as he does, unfortunately he triggers an unseen hazard. A Noose at throat level made from webs snaps tight trying to snag the fighter fortunately it misses Tain.
A spider scurries out of hiding ready to attack anyone unlucky enough to get caught in the trap.

The Orc rushes into the room with bear-like claws. He would have hit the bug if Tain had left anything of it.
Olli having flown to a rafter cheers the group as they splat the last spider ” Good riddance those spiders gave me the creeps.”
*** Combat Over ***
As you clear the spider webs from the room you feel that that was the last of the big spiders you must worry about. Searching the room you find the table in this room has a small drawer, which contains a number of small, harmless spiders and a hand of the mage.
The main house is clear except for Olli and Blue Finley which Mikhail suggests leaving it be. It’s getting to the evening while you can push on to clear the outside storage and smokehouse you may want to plan where to camp for the evening.
(You can camp in the house or outside. Please describe where you plan to sleep and if you take any shifts at watch.)
Goxomas
Goxomos takes a drink, sits down, takes another, and says, "Seems like inside the house would be a more defensible spot to rest for the night. I'll take the first watch. That way I can sleep late in the morning."
Tain Hekkanen
Tain nods.
”I’ll take second.”
He holds out the shrivelled hand on a gold chain hand of the mage.
”And what the heck…is this, and why was it…in the drawer?!?”
Mikhail Duskborn
I'll take the watch with Tain. In the morning should we take care of the outbuildings, right?
Mikhail will take part of the rest communing with Pharasma and updating a couple of cantrips/spells.
Tain Hekkanen
Still holding the dessicated, gnarled hand, Tain shakes his head as no-one is particularly interested in the strange thing. He show's it to Perrik.
"What do you think it is?
Then nods to Mikhail.
"Yes, tomorrow we cleanse the rest of the compound. Let's hope our apparition called Finley in the other room doesn't mind sharing with friendly folk that don't mean any harm to ghosts!" Tain exclaims the last bit a little louder to make their intentions clear to any listening spirits.

"Thank you for taking care of the spider. I don't know if they are vegetarian, but I also don't know if I want to find out."
The mage hand gets a shudder from her, and she makes no move to touch it. "It's called a hand of the mage. It lets you can a spell call mage hand whenever you want. Can be useful if you need something on the top shelf, but I don't think it's worth wearing *that*," she continues pointing at the magic item.
"Did we want to knock on Finley's door? You know, introduce ourselves? But agreed on the rest of the compound."
Tain Hekkanen
Tain's eyebrows raise as the little plantling explains the hand of the mage. The warrior flips it over, looks again, shrugs and stows it in his pack.
He sniffs.
"I agree with Celosia that perhaps we might want to introduce ourselves....but the note did say to leave them be. We don't know if the note predates the "ghost" and was put there by a fisherman called Finley, some age ago... or whether the ghost *is* Finley. On the one hand, I don't really want to find out, and on the other... [here Tain smiles, a little rictus grin] I also don't want to be woken up by a vengeful spirit who thinks we have bad manners...What do you all think? Olli?"
GM - is Olli the couatl still in the room with us, and if so, can they shed more light on Finley's room/the spirit?

Sitting down Goxomos thinks camping inside is preferable to sleeping on the beach.
Perrik agrees with Goxomos
Tain nods and volunteers for the middle watch. Opening a drawer the fighter holds up the shriveled hand on a gold chain wondering what it’s doing in the room.
Argigoth settles down for the night planning to take a morning watch.
Mikhail offers to take watch with Tain
Tain continues to hold the desiccated, gnarled hand concerned that no one else is as bothered by the gruesome object. He also hopes Finley's ghost doesn’t take to wandering at night.
Perrik thinks the hand is corpse desecration and asks Celosia if he knows what it is.
Celosia recognizes the hand as a magic item but is not inclined to wear the thing around his neck. The leshy suggests knocking on the door and introducing themselves.
Tain continues the discussion about introducing themselves to Finley. Olli has already gone to bed.
The group settles down in the center room for the evening after fixing dinner. Those not on watch find a clear patch of floor for their bedrolls. Those on watch sit or stand quietly listening to the sounds of the old house creaking and the waves lashing at the shore.
As the hours pass Goxomos and Celosia hear some scurrying sounds in the rafters, but before you can alert anyone you see two Centipedes the size of a man in the rafters ready to drop.
The blue centipede climbs down and bites Goxomas injecting venom into the catfolk, then tries to bite Celosia but misses.
